This paper propose the new approach of the quantity effect by high efficiency inductor characteristic to the harmonic suppression of the lowpass filter. We applied the reliable de-embedding process in order to extract the precise elements values. Moreover, for the effective its application and comparison, the variable stepped impedance low pass filters with a same specification are designed. The proposed procedure is expected to handle the overall filter performance and to construct a synthesized equivalent circuit from its determined specification.

In this paper, the power amplifier using active bias circuits for LDMOS(Lateral Diffused Metal Oxide Semiconductor) MRF-21180 is designed and fabricated. According to change the temperature, the gate voltage of LDMOS is controlled by the fabricated active bias circuits which is made of PNP transistor to suppress drain current. The driving amplifier using MRF-21125 and MRF-21060 is made to drive the LDMOS MRF-21180 power amplifier. The variation of current consumption in the fabricated 60 watt power amplifier has an excellent characteristics of less than 0.1 A, whereas a passive biasing circuit dissipates more than 0.5 A. The implemented power amplifier has the gain over 9 dB, the gain flatness of less than $\pm$0.1 dB and input and output return loss of less than -6 dB over the frequency range 2.11 $\sim$ 2.17 GHz. The DC operation point of this power amplifier at temperature variation 0 $^{\circ}C$ to 60 $^{\circ}C$ is fixed by active bias circuit.
This work proposes and investigates re-centering negative stiffness dampers (NSDs) for vibration suppression in high-speed trains. The merit of the negative stiffness feature is demonstrated by active controllers on a high-speed train. This merit inspires the replacement of active controllers with re-centering NSDs, which are more reliable and robust than active controllers. The proposed damper design consists of a passive magnetic negative stiffness spring and a semi-active positioning shaft for re-centering function. The former produces negative stiffness control forces, and the latter prevents the amplification of quasi-static spring deflection. Numerical investigations verify that the proposed re-centering NSD can improve ride comfort significantly without amplifying spring deflection.

Semi-active vibration control is one of the attractive control methods for space application due to its robustness as passive damping system and much higher damping performance than passive system. In this paper, performance investigation of semi-active damper considering a mass modeling of functional fluid inside of the damper has been performed. Numerical investigation results confirmed that the damper model considering the fluid mass is effective for vibration suppression performance at a relatively low viscosity range of functional fluid. Based on the analysis results, design method to enhance the performance of semi-active damper has been proposed.
Mast cells is the key effector cells for IgE-mediated allergic responses. In this study, we investigated whether Rhus trichocarpa extract (RT) inhibited IgE-mediated allergic responses in mast cells and an allergic animal model. We further tried to find its mechanism of action in mast cells. We found that RT suppressed antigen-stimulated degranulation and production of TNF-${\alpha}$ and IL-4 in rat basophilic leukemia (RBL)-2H3 mast cells and bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMC), as well as IgE-mediated passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA) in mice. As the mechanism of action of RT, it inhibited the activation of spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk), a pivotal signaling molecule for activation of mast cells and that of LAT, a downstream adaptor molecule of Syk in $Fc{\varepsilon}RI$-mediated signal pathways. RT also suppressed the activation of mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinases and Akt. The current results demonstrated for the first time that RT has the anti-allergic effect through inhibiting degranulation and secretion of cytokines by suppression of Syk in antigen-stimulated mast cells. Therefore, RT might be useful for allergic diseases.

Non-linear energy sink (NES) is an emerging passive absorber able to mitigate the dynamic response of structures without any external energy supply, resonating with all the modes of the primary structure to control. However, its inherent non-linearities hinder its large-scale use and leads to complicated design procedures. For this purpose, an approximate design approach is herein proposed in a stochastic framework. Since loads are random in nature, the stochastic analysis of non-linear systems may be performed by means of computational intensive techniques such as Monte Carlo simulations (MCS). Alternatively, the Stochastic Linearisation (SL) technique has proven to be an effective tool to investigate the performance of different passive control systems under random loads. Since controlled systems are generally non-classically damped and most of SL algorithms operate recursively, the computational burden required is still large for those problems that make intensive use of SL technique, as optimal design procedures. Herein, a procedure to speed up the Stochastic Linearisation technique is proposed by avoiding or strongly reducing numerical evaluations of response statistics. The ability of the proposed procedure to effectively reduce the computational effort and to reliably design the NES is showed through an application on a well-known case study related to the vibrations mitigation of an aircraft wing.

Excessive vibration in flexible structures is a problem encountered in many different fields, causing fatigue of structural components. Passive techniques, though sometimes limited in their capabilities, have been used in the past to attenuate vibrations. Recently active techniques have been developed to enhance vibration control performance beyond that provided by their passive counterparts. Most often, the focus of active control methods has been to suppress structure displacements. In cases where vibration results in structure failures, displacement suppression may not be the best choice of control approaches (it can, in fact, increase dynamic loads which would be even more harmful to supports) . This paper presents two optimal control methods for attenuating steady state vibrations in flexible structures. One method minimizes shaft displacements while another minimizes dynamic reaction forces. The two methods are applied to a model of a typical flexible structure system and their results are compared. It is found that displacement minimization can increase loads, while load minimization decreases loads.

To reduce the possibility of longitudinal dynamic instability, called "POGO", in the liquid rocket system due to the feedback effect of a main structure and a fuel-feeding system, several different types of PSD(POGO Suppression Device) systems have been studied. In the present study, several different types of PSD were reviewed. Basically, all PSD systems can be categorized into two groups; a passive PSD or an active PSD. We can classify the passive PSD's into more detailed groups according to their compliance methods; localized compliance methods or distributed compliance methods. As a result of our intensive review on various PSD's, the gas-filled accumulator with a level control system is considered to be the most suitable one to suppress the POGO instability without mal-effects to the performance of a fuel-feeding system.ng system.

In this paper, a 18 GHz oscillator is designed with the push-push method an fabricated by semi-MMIC process, in which the second harmonic is the main output signal with the suppressed fundamental mode. In semi-MMIC process, passive components with microstrip transmission line are implemented using MMIC process on semi-insulating GaAs substrate. Then, chip types of P-HEMT, resistors, and capacitors are connected through Au wire-bonding. Also, the ground plane is inserted around the circuit and connected each other with the back-side of substrate through Au wire-bonding instead of via-hole. The semi-MMIC push-push oscillator shows the output powder of -10.5 dBm, the fundamental frequency suppression of -17.3 dBc/Hz, and the phase noise of -97.9 dBc/Hz at the offset frequency of 100 kHz.
The system-integrated modular advanced reactor 100 (SMART100), an integral-type pressurized water small modular reactor, is based on a novel design concept for containment cooling and radioactive material reduction; it is known as the containment pressure and radioactivity suppression system (CPRSS). There is a passive cooling system using a condensation with non-condensable gas in the SMART CPRSS. When a design basis accident such as a small break loss of coolant accident (SBLOCA) occurs, the pressurized low containment area (LCA) of the SMART CPRSS leads to steam condensation in an incontainment refuelling water storage tank (IRWST). Additionally, the steam and non-condensable gas mixture passes through the CPRSS heat exchanger (CHX) submerged in the emergency cooldown tank (ECT) that can partially remove the residual heat. When the steam and non-condensable gas mixture passes through the CHX, the non-condensable gas can interrupt the condensation heat transfer in the CHX and it degrades CHX performance. In this study, condensation heat transfer experiments of steam and non-condensable gas mixture in the natural circulation loop were conducted. The pressure, temperature, and effects of the non-condensable gas were investigated according to the constant inlet steam flow rate with non-condensable gas injections in the loop.
