A Study on the Advanced RFID System in Railway using the Parallel CRC Technique (철도에서 병렬 순환 잉여 기법을 이용한 차세대 무선인식 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • This paper has presented the parallel cyclic redundancy check (CRC) technique that performs CRC computation in parallel superior to the conventional CRC technique that processes data bits serially. Also, it has showed that the implemented parallel CRC circuit has been successfully applied to the inductively coupled passive RFTD system working at a frequency of 13.56㎒ in order to process the detection of logical faults more fast and the system has been verified experimentally. In comparison with previous works, the proposed RFID system using the parallel CRC technique has been shown to reduce the latency and increase the data processing rates about 15% In the results. Therefore, it seems reasonable to conclude that the parallel CRC realization in the RFID system offers a means of maintaining the integrity of data in the high speed RFID system.

  • A recent advance in RFID technology is one of the major technological drives in reducing cost in logistics, distribution and even in the manufacturing sector. However, currently the technology is practically accepted only in the area of logistics and inventory control. The characteristic of these application areas is that the technology is used in the controllable environment. In this paper, we discuss a case study of using active and passive RFID technologies to automatically gather process information in the mold factory. Active RFID tags are attached on the main parts of molds and their positions in the floor are tracked with the routers. We also discuss on the idea of using mobile device with RFID reader to inquire information for molds on the spot in the factory floor. The inquirable information includes 3D design data and basic mold data. The paper shows implementation results with hardware configuration for the testbed.

  • We analyze the tag identification procedure of conventional EPC Class 1 RFID system and propose the fast anti-collision algorithm for the performance improvement of the system. In the proposed algorithm, the reader uses information of tag collisions and reduces unnecessary procedures of the conventional algorithm. We evaluate the performance of the proposed anti-collision algorithm and the conventional algorithm using mathematical analysis and simulation. According to the results, the fast anti-collision algorithm shows greatly better performance than conventional algorithm.

  • RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system is applied to identify, locate and track people, cars, animals. Passive RFID system consists of reader and tag. The reader transmits a carrier signal, receives the backscattering signal, performs data processing. The tag is energized by carrier signal that is transmitted from the reader and the information stored in the tag is transmitted back to the reader. In this paper, the design and analysis of the 125kHz RFID system is presented and is confirmed through experiment.

  • RFID는 태그가 부착된 사물의 정보를 무선통신을 통해 인식하는 기술로써 바코드를 대체하는 등 다양한 영역으로 응용 범위가 확대되고 있다. 따라서 각 응용에 필요한 보안 문제도 중요시 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 지금까지 RFID시스템의 보안 취약성을 해결하기 위해 제안된 많은 인증 프로토콜들 중 한국정보통신기술협회에서 제정한 잠정표준인 "수동형 RFID 보안태그와 리더의 인증 및 데이터 보호 프로토콜"에 대하여 프라이버시 침해, 위치추적, 비동기화 공격 가능 및 전방향 안전성을 만족하지 못하는 등의 보안 취약점이 있음을 보이고, 이에 대한 분석을 하였다.

  • RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) technology is an automatic identification method using radio frequencies between RFID reader which collects the informatin and tag which transmits the information. RFID technology develops passive RFID which transmit the only ID to active RFID which transmit the additional information such as sensing information. there is ISO/IEC 18000-7 as typical standard of active RFID. it is single channel system of 433.92MHz and has limitation of collection of a number of tags. to overcome limitation of collection of many tags, we propose the new 2.4GHz active RFID technology which can use the multi-channel. if reader has multi-interface and uses another channel in each, reader could fast collect the tags. but, if a reader which has many interfaces collects tags through the specific interface, the performance may not improve any more comparing with a reader using single interface. in this paper, we show the fast collection through design and implementation of protocol for load balancing between interfaces in multi-interface RFID reader.

  • In a passive UHF RFID system, the impedance matching between tag antenna and chip as well as the protocol parameter settings in a reader plays important role in determination of the maximum read-range. Almost no paper, however, has dealt with the above issues in relation with the maximum read range. In this paper, two known methods (of using the value from data sheets and proprietary RFID tester) and our proposing method in chip impedance evaluation are compared in terms of maximum read range. The read range of tags whose antenna impedance is conjugate matched with the chip impedance obtained from the proposed method is improved maximum 73 % more than that of tags from the other methods.

  • In this paper, an adaptive RFID tag antenna in 900MHz for using in inadequate electromagnetic environment is designed and implemented. The dimension of the proposed passive tag is $102mm{\times}102mm{\times}9mm$, the operating frequency band is 908~914MHz and the detection range is 5.1m. This paper describes the development of the thermal, water and impact resisting tag. The implemented tag can be used for the inadequate environment such as in-built tag on the ground for the car management service.

  • In this study, a customized semi-passive RFID receiver module was implemented for in-VIVO deep tissue photo-therapy. A novel wireless technique is required due to a limitation of RF communication in body environment, as internal body has a complex structure such as, skin, fat, skeleton, water, and so on. Recently, coherently incoherent beamforming (CIB) based on RFID was introduced and it is able to transmit wireless signal with high reliability under the incoherent condition such as in-VIVO deep tissue. The proposed miniature photo capsule based on RFID consists of miniature controller, ultra small LED array and wireless RFID chip. RF Reader can access with standard RFID protocol (ISO 18000-6c) using UHF RFID antenna, a control command is wirelessly writtern on USER Bank memory. With received control command, therapy LED array dims with mulilevel under timer control. The signal process of designed RFID photo therapy capsule is analyzed and evaluated under the various environments in detailed.
