China possesses a passenger dedicated line system of large scale, passenger flow intensity with uneven distribution, and passenger nodes with complicated relations. Consequently, the significance of passenger nodes shall be considered and the dissimilarity of passenger nodes shall be analyzed in compiling passenger train operation and conducting transportation allocation. For this purpose, the passenger nodes need to be hierarchically divided. Targeting at problems such as hierarchical dividing process vulnerable to subjective factors and local optimum in the current research, we propose a clustering approach based on self-organizing map (SOM) and k-means, and then, harnessing the new approach, hierarchical dividing of passenger dedicated line passenger nodes is effectuated. Specifically, objective passenger nodes parameters are selected and SOM is used to give a preliminary passenger nodes clustering firstly; secondly, Davies-Bouldin index is used to determine the number of clusters of the passenger nodes; and thirdly, k-means is used to conduct accurate clustering, thus getting the hierarchical dividing of passenger nodes. Through example analysis, the feasibility and rationality of the algorithm was proved.
On this study, we extracted pending problem and controversial point from management of disaster such as terror for domestic massive performance and then, investigated countermeasure plan against disaster for massive performance through comparison and analysis between anti-disaster strategy of Korea and U.S. U.S are conducting security system actively for passenger of major facilities such as public institution. Nonetheless, In U.S that has the world's best security system, serious affair such as 911 terror and Boston marathon terror are continued to happen. When considering domestic situation that North Korea and South Korea are antagonistic to each other, it is judged when it is high time to prepare for threat of terrorism. Accordingly, On this study, through analyzing of latest terror attacks in U.S and disaster risk in the nation, we analyzed in detail countermeasure plan classified as legislation, operation of security system, instilling a sense. As the result of this analyzing, using by flow-chart, we suggested domestic optimized disaster management system for massive performance. Consequently, we propose to establish systematized disaster management system such as preliminary survey of disaster influence for massive performance.
This paper is concerned with departure passengers' dwell time analysis using real system data. Previous researches emphasize the importance of dwell time analysis from perspective of airport terminal planning and non-aeronautical revenue. However, short-term airport operation using passengers' dwell time is considered impossible due to absence of passengers' behavior data. Recently, in accordance with the wave of smart airport, world leading airports are systematically collecting passenger data. So there is high possibility of analyzing passengers' dwell time with the data stacked in the airport database. We conducted dwell time analysis using data from Incheon Int'l airport. In order to handle passenger data, we adapted clustering algorithm which is one of data mining techniques. As a clustering result, passengers are divided into 3 clusters. One is the cluster for passengers whose dwell time is relatively short and who tend to spend longer time in the airside. Another is the cluster for passengers who have near 3 hours dwell time. The other is the cluster for passengers whose total dwell time is extremely long.

Crowdedness management at subway platforms is essential to improve services, including the prevention of train delays and ensuring passenger safety. Establishing effective crowdedness mitigation measures for platforms requires accurate estimation of the congestion level. There are temporal and spatial constraints since crowdedness on subway platforms is assessed at certain locations every 1-2 years by hand counting. However, smart cards generate real-time big data 24 hours a day and could be used in estimating congestion. This study proposes a model based on data from transit cards to estimate crowdedness dynamically. Crowdedness was defined as demand, which can be translated into passengers dynamically moving along a subway network. The trajectory of an individual passenger can be identified through this model. Passenger flow that concentrates or disperses at a platform is also calculated every minute. Lastly, the platform congestion level is estimated based on effective waiting areas for each platform structure.

This study is designed to help customers use more comfortable airports by predicting congestion and congestion times by identifying the traffic routes of passengers in the airport building by day of the week and time by using Wi-Fi sensor collectors, one of the IoT technologies. Analysis of passenger traffic analysis data showed that the most congested time zones were from noon. to 2p.m. for all facilities, which could be used to improve major facilities. Regression analysis of factors affecting congestion found that self-check-in reduces congestion and check-in counters increases congestion. These findings will provide important implications for operations, including congestion management at airports.

Recently, ships' average navigation speed become faster than before because of the increasing of high-speeds vessel including container ships and passenger-ferries. So, it is considered that the speed limit in the navigation channel in Korea isn't proper for vessel management in these days. Also, there is rare paper studies about the speed limit quantitatively and numerically, especially the speed limit is discussing continuously, as abrogation of Incheon Port's speed limit and alleviation of Gwang-yang Port's speed limit according to the requests by the navigating mariners. Consequently this paper deals with the effectiveness of speed limits using the Environmental Stress Model, after replay of the navigation traffic flow in the straight waterway using marine traffic flow simulation technique.

The automobile seat must satisfy various safety regulations for the passenger's safety. In many design practices, each component is independently designed by concentrating on a single related regulation. However, since multiple regulations can be involved in a seat component, there may be design confliction among the various safety regulations. Therefore, a new design methodology is required to effectively design an automobile seat. The axiomatic approach is employed for considering multiple regulations. The Independence Axiom is used to define the overall flow of the seat design. Functional requirements (FRs) are defined by safety regulations and components of the seat are classified into groups which yield design Parameters (DPs). The classification is carried out to have independence in the FR-DP relationship. Components in a DP group are determined by using orthogonal away of the design of experiments (DOE). Numerical analyses are utilized to evaluate the safety levels by using a commercial software system for nonlinear transient finite element analysis.
PURPOSES : In this study, the effects of when median exclusive bus lanes were applied to Daejeon trunk road (Wolpyeng crossway~Seodaejeon crossway, 6.3km) and (Daeduck Bridge 4~Kyeryong 4, 2.6km) by Microscopic Simulation VISSIM (5.0) was studied. The median exclusive bus lanes are one of the measures of transportation system manage techniques that can especially improve the efficiency of public transportation facilities. METHODS : According to the analysis of VISSIM on the Gyerong mainroad and Daedeok mainroad, when the median exclusive bus lanes were applied unlike when the roadside bus-only lanes were applied, the average travel speed of vehicles decreased but the average delay time and travel time increased. This arised from the changes in the geometric structure of the road which occurred the reduction of vehicle lane in the center of the road. RESULTS : In the case of bus, on the other hand, the average travel speed increased but the average delay time and travel time decreased. This is because the problems such as illegal parking and stopping, secondary road in out vehicle, and conflict of intersection right turn that roadside bus-only lanes occurred was solved. CONCLUSIONS : Although the introduction of median exclusive bus lanes will have a negative effect on general traffic flow due to the aggravation of travel, decrease of passenger car usage will lead to decrease of traffic volume. Therefore, smooth vehicle travel is expected.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the priority of information presentation and the effective menu type to be placed in the center of a gauge cluster display for commercial trucks and to present a set of ergonomic designs for the gauge cluster display. Background: An effective ergonomic design is specifically needed for the development of the gauge cluster display for the commercial trucks, because more diverse and heavier information is delivered to truck drivers, compared to the information to passenger car drivers. Method: First, all the information that must be shown on the commercial truck display was collected. Then, the severity, frequency of use, and display design parameters were evaluated for those information by commercial truck drivers. Next, an analysis on the information attributes and the heuristic evaluation utilizing the display design principles were carried out. According to the results, a design alternative of the main screen to be displayed was constructed by priority. A comparative analysis between the alternative and existing main screens was also conducted to see the efficacy of the designs. Lastly, we conducted an experiment for the selection of menu type. The experiment was conducted using the driving simulator with an eye-tracking device. The independent variables were four types of the menu reflecting the commercial truck characteristics such as grid type, icon type, list type, and flow type. We measured preference, total execution time, the total duration of fixation on the gauge cluster area, and the total number of fixation on the gauge cluster area as dependent variables. Results: Four types of driver convenience information and six types of driver assistance information were selected as the information to be placed primarily on the main screen of the gauge cluster. The Grid type was the most effective among the menu types. Conclusion: In this study, the information that appears on the main screen of the display, the division of the display and the design of the menu type for commercial truck drivers were suggested. Application: This study is expected to be utilized as guidelines on the ergonomic design of a gauge cluster display for commercial trucks.

The purpose of Speed limit at sea is to keep harbor calmness, to maintain efficient traffic flow and to prevent maritime accidents. The Korean Regional Maritime Affairs and Port Office(KRMAPO) specified and enforced the ship's speed limits at the 19 harbors around the Korean coasts. However, problems have been raised to the adequacy of speed limits. This paper made a research on the speed limit set standards, analyzed vessel traffic survey and the dilemma on the specified speed limits imposed by KRMAPO. The result of this study has shown an overall average of 48 % violation rate on speed limit with passenger ships and large vessels of more than 5,000 tons having higher violation rate. Average speed was higher than the limit speed in some harbors and deviation of 4.2 to 5.2 knots was investigated. Further, harbors having higher average speed also have higher deviation accident incidence. Therefore, this paper had confirmed that there is a need for institutional review and improvement of Korea's port and fairways speed traffic management.
