A STUDY ON NORMAL NASAL RESPIRATORY RESISTANCE IN THE PREPUBERTAL CHILDREN (사춘기전(思春期前) 아동(兒童)의 정상(正常) 비강(鼻腔) 통기도(通氣度)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • This study was designed to analyze normal nasal respiratory resistance in prepubertal children. The subjects consisted of 30 prepubertal children (male: 15, female: 15). The mean age was 11.4 years in male children and 11.5 years in female children. The results were as follows: I. The normal nasal respiratory patency was lower than the normal values from RION corp. 2. The normal nasal respiratory airflow rates showed no sexual differences. And there were no differences between inspiration and expiration. 3. Before and after use of nasal decongestants, there were no significant differences of normal nasal respiratory airflow rates and after the administration of nasal decongestants, nasal respiratory patency manifested lower variability. 4. The normal nasal respiratory resistance without nasal decongestants at 150 Pascal in inspiration was $0.30Pa/cm^3/sec({\pm}0.07)$ and peak nasal inspiratory airflow rate was $1016.83cm^3/sec({\pm}223.89)$. 5. The normal nasal respiratory resistance with nasal decongestant at 150 Pascal in inspiration was $0.25Pa/cm^3/sec({\pm}0.05)$ and peak nasal inspiratory airflow rate was $1148.33cm^3/sec({\pm}234.29)$.

  • Sprinkler system is the most effective fire suppression with high confidence among active fire extinguishing systems. According to the installation of the related system on buildings, more separation area of fire protection can be considered to the fire protection design, and also lower differential pressure (12.5 Pascal) is permitted on lobby of fire escape stairs and emergency elevator (25 Pascal shall be considered for none sprinkler system) with economic factor. More details will be handled on the related studies.

  • We explore the Pauli table C(-1) and nonzero Pauli table W. Recurrence rules and interrelationships of any k slope diagonal sums over C(-1) and W are studied in connection with diagonal sums of the Pascal table C(1). Since diagonal sums of C(1) are Fibonacci numbers, any k slope diagonal sums over C(-1) and W are explained by Fibonacci numbers.

  • Recursive thinking is iterative, self-referential, and building on itself continuously. Moreover, it is becoming a more prominent feature of the mathematical scope because of the availability of computers and languages like Logo, Excel, and Pascal that support recursion. This study investigates the way to create students' recursive thinking in mathematics classroom and to use various methods to solve problems using a spreadsheet, the Excel program where technology could be accessible.

  • This paper deals with the history of one of the well-known and historically important problems in probability, "Gambler's ruin". This problem was first solved by Pascal and Fermat and published by Huygens in 1657. It was studied and extended by many probabilists in early years and thus, it became an important problem in probability history, introducing many new concepts. We would like to introduce the problem in detail to readers and share the ideas on how new problems are developed, relating to old problems.

  • 이 연구는 선형계획법을 위하여 개발된 프로그램들의 언어 및 자료 구조에 대한 차이를 비교, 분석하고자 한다. 선형계획법을 위하여 사용된 언어로는 C, PASCAL, FORTRAN이 있고 자료구조로는 Full Matrix형태와 Non-Zero Matrix형태를 고려한다. Non-Zero Matrix에서는 프로그램 언어별로 Cursor-Based System을 비교하고자 한다. 위의 실험을 수행하기 위하여 다음의 연구과정을 수행한다. 첫째, Non-Zero Matrix의 이용을 위한 Cursor-Based System과 Pointer-Based System을 설계한다. 둘째, LP프로그램을 위한 Full Matrix와 Non-Zero Matrix의 효율적인 자료구조를 구축한다. 세째, 프로그램 언어와 자료구조별로 LP프로그램의 성능을 비교분석한다.

  • This paper develops MRP system with two-types of lead time(average lead time and emergent lead time). In this proposed MRP system, Material Requirement Planning is scheduled by using average lead time, but the emergent lead time is used only when start date of planned order is past. Btrieve data management technique and Stack structure are used for recalculating procedure of planned order with the TURBO PASCAL Version 5.5. An example is also considered.

  • This paper involves a study of developing the production scheduling system in a general job shop type mechanical factory. We consider realistic situations in the job-shop environments, such as alternative machines for operation, the new kinds of processes, the machining center with the plural pallet, the operational situation of each machine during the scheduling period, occurings of urgent orders and machine breakdowns. We also propose the methodology of re-schedule. It is very fast and acceptable for real time production control system. These all functions are implemented on IBM PC and program source is written in PASCAL language.

  • We investigate how the code automorphism groups can be used to study such combinatorial objects as codes, finite projective planes and Hadamard matrices. For this purpose, we write down a computer program for computing code automorphisms in PASCAL language. Then we study the combinatorial properties using those code automorphism group algorithms and the relationship between combinatorial objects and codes.
