Female genital morphology of Cryptocercus Kyebangensis is described, focusing on the structural features of ovipositors at each developmental stage. Ovipositor valves were the first genital structures to appear in female nymphs. The caudal margin of the 9th sternum was nearly straight in the 1st instars of both sexes, with a slight median notch, but was deeply concave in the female nymphs of the End instar. The 1st valve of ovipositor budded off from membranous fold between the 8th 8nd 9th sternum and a pair of the 2nd valve came from the 9th sternum. Separation of styli occurred in the female nymphs of the 8th or 9th instar. Some parts of the female genitalia were sclerotized after the final molt. Spermathecae were the fork type and leaned a little to the right in the middle line of the genital chamber from ventro-posterior view. The trace sealed with sclerite materials existed on the spermathecal opening. The genital segments (segments Ⅷ, IX, and X) were concealed completely by the 7th tergum and sternum posteriorly expanded. Terminal lobes which exist in the Blattidae were not observed in C. Kyebangensis. Instead, the apicolateral emargination existed on the terminal abdominal segment of C. Kyebangensis females.

Extensive column chromatography separation of the MeOH extract from the aerial parts of Phyllanthus urinaria afforded seventeen compounds (1 - 17). The structures of the compounds were elucidated by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods to be 5'-β-D-glucopyranosyloxyjasmonic butyl ester (1), (+)-cucurbic acid (2), dendranthemoside B (3), boscialin 4'-O-β-D-glucoside (4), 4,5-dihydroblumenol A (5), (6R,9R)-megastigman-4-ene-9,13-diol (6), (3S,5R,6S,9R)-3,6-dihydroxy-5,6-dihydro-β-ionol (7), (6S,9R)-roseoside (8), mallophenol B (9), icariside B5 (10), corchoinoside B (11), canangaionoside (12), 5,6-epoxy-3-hydroxy-7-megastigmen-9-one (13), icariside B2 (14), (7E)-2β,3β-dihydroxy-megastigm-7-en-9-one (15), betulalbuside A (16), and loliolide (17). The compounds 1, and 3 - 16 were isolated for the first time from this plant. The absolute stereochemistry of compound 1 was newly determined. The isolated compounds were tested for cytotoxic activity against four human tumor cell lines in vitro using a Sulforhodamin B bioassay, but all the compounds showed weak cytotoxic activities.
The development of lifting pumps that lift minerals to a mining vessel are one of the vital parts of the commercial mining process. The purpose of this study is to investigate internal flow and its effect on the performance of a mixed flow pump in order to improve the pump's performance. Numerical analysis was performed by commercial code of ANSYS CFX-11 based on flow rate and length of flexible hose. The rated rotational speed of the impeller is 1750rpm. For taking into account the turbulence, k-$\omega$ SST model was selected to guarantee more accurate prediction of flow separation. The simulated results are in good agreement with the experimental results and showed that its efficiency and the head of the pump are related mainly to the flow rate and the length of flexible hose. A lesser flow rate caused more secondary flow through the guide vane passage. The length of flexible hose and flow rate exert much more influence on the pump's performance than the shape of the flexible hose.

In this paper, a theoretical and experimental study of the sectional behaviour of reinforced concrete beams subjected to short-term loads is carried out. The pure bending behaviour is analysed with moment-curvature diagrams. Thus, the experimental results obtained from 24 beams tested by the authors and reported in literature are compared with theoretical results obtained from a layered model, which combines the material parameters defined in Model Code 2010 with some of the most recognized tensions-tiffening models. Although the tests were carried out for short-term loads, the analysis demonstrates that rheological effects can be important and must be accounted to understand the experimental results. Another important conclusion for the beams tested in this work is that the method proposed by EC-2 tends to underestimate the tension-stiffening effects, leading to inaccuracies in the estimations of deflections. Thus, the actual formulation is analysed and a simple modification is proposed. The idea is the separation of the deflection prediction in two parts: one for short-term loads and other for rheological effects (shrinkage). The results obtained are in fairly good agreement with the experimental results, showing the feasibility of the proposed modification.
The present study aims to investigate characteristics of the flow structures around the Ahmed body by using both experimental and numerical methods. Therefore, 1/4 scale Ahmed body having $25^{\circ}$ slant angle was employed. The Reynolds number based on the body height, H and the free stream velocity, U was $Re_H=1.48{\times}10^4$. Investigations were conducted in two parts. In the first part of the study, Large Eddy Simulation (LES) method was used to resolve the flow structures around the Ahmed body, numerically. In the second part of the study the particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique was used to measure instantaneous velocity fields around the Ahmed body. Time-averaged and instantaneous velocity vectors maps, streamline topology and vorticity contours of the flow fields were presented and discussed in details. Comparison of the mean and turbulent quantities of the LES results and the PIV results with the results of Lienhart et al. (2000) at different locations over the slanted surface and in the wake region of the Ahmed body were also given. Flow features such as critical points and recirculation zones in the wake region downstream of the Ahmed body were well captured. The spectra of numerically and experimentally obtained stream-wise and vertical velocity fluctuations were presented and they show good consistency with the numerical result of Minguez et al. (2008).
Studies on the laser cutting processing characteristics of magnesium alloys can be divided into three parts, comparing the cutting faces of magnesium alloy and aluminum alloy, observing the shape of the corner where straight lines meet, and observing the straight lines and arcs. First, there were no laser cutting conditions for magnesium alloys, so it was observed to cut magnesium alloy and aluminum alloy under the same processing conditions as aluminum alloy to shape and surface of the cut surface. Next, to observe the characteristics of the corner, we observed the shape of the corner according to the angle change of the part where the two lines meet, and finally we observed various angles to observe the characteristics of the part where the arc meets the line. Finally, laser cutting processing characteristics of magnesium alloys and aluminum alloys obtained based on the above study contents were summarized.

The structure and dynamics of multiple shock waves are studied numerically using a finite volume solver for a model with nozzle exit Mach number of 1.75. At first, the shock variation based on images were analyzed using a Matlab program then later to the wall static pressure variation. The amplitude and frequency variation for multiple shock waves are analyzed. The cross-correlation between the shock location suggests that the first and the second shocks are well correlated while the other shocks show a phase lag in the oscillation characteristics. The rms values of pressure fluctuations are maximum at the shock locations while the other parts in the flow exhibit a lower value os standard deviation.

Layer separation (delamination) is an essential threat to fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) plates under dynamic, static, and fatigue loads. Under compressive load, the growth of delamination will lead to structural instability. The aim of this paper is to present a method using shape memory alloy (SMA) stitches to suppress the delamination growth in a FRP plate and to improve the buckling behavior of the plate with a rectangular hole. The present paper is divided into two parts. Firstly, a closed-form (CF) formulation for evaluating the buckling load of the FRP plate is presented. Secondly, the finite element method (FEM) will be employed to calculate the buckling loads of the plates which serves to validate the results obtained from the closed-form method. The novelty of this work is the development of the closed-form solution using the p-Ritz energy approach regarding the stress-dependent phase transformation of SMA to trace the equilibrium path. For the FEM, the Lagoudas constitutive model of the SMA material is implemented in FORTRAN programming language using a user material subroutines (VUMAT). The model is simulated in ABAQUS/Explicit solver due to the nature of the loading type. The cohesive zone model (CZM) is applied to simulate the delamination growth.

Manufacturing membrane materials with high selectivity and permeability is quite desirable but practically not possible, since the permeability and selectivity are usually inversely proportional. From the viewpoint of reducing the cost of $CO_2$ capture, module performance is even more important than the performance of membrane materials itself, which is affected by the permeance of the membrane (P, stagecut) and selectivity (S). As a typical example, when the mixture with a composition of 13% $CO_2$ and 87% of $N_2$ is fed into the module with 10% stage cut and selectivity 5, in the 10 parts of the permeate, $CO_2$ represents 4.28 parts and $N_2$ represents 5.72 parts. In this case, the $CO_2$ concentration in the permeate is 42.8% and the recovery rate of $CO_2$ in this first separation appears as 4.28/13 = 32.9%. When permeance and selectivity are doubled, however, from 10% to 20% and from 5 to 10, respectively, the $CO_2$ concentration in the permeant becomes 64.5% and the recovery rate is 12.9/13 = 99.2%. Since in this case, most of the $CO_2$ is separated, this may be the ideal condition. For a given feed concentration, the $CO_2$ concentration in the separated gas decreases if permeance is larger than the threshold value for complete recovery at a given selectivity. Conversely, for a given permeance, increasing the selectivity over the threshold value does not improve the process further. For a given initial feed gas concentration, if permeance or selectivity is larger than that required for the complete separation of $CO_2$, the process becomes less efficient. From all these considerations, we can see that there exists an optimum design for a given set of conditions.
