용융침투법으로 제조한 유리-알루미나 복합체: Ⅰ. 알루미나 입도 효과 (Glass-alumina Composites Prepared by Melt-infiltration: Ⅰ. Effect of Alumina Particle Size)

  • 상용 알루미나 분말(0.5${\mu}$m, 3${\mu}$m)을 die-press법을 이용하여 1120$^{\circ}$C에서 2시간 1차 소결하여 다공성 전성형체를 제조하고 1100$^{\circ}$C에서 4시간 $La_2O_3-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$계 유리를 용융 침투시켜 치밀한 유리-알루미나 복합체를 제조하였다. 알루미나 입도가 유리-알루미나 복합체의 충진율, 미세조직, 젖음성, 기공률 및 크기, 기계적 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 입도 범위가 0.1∼48${\mu}$m로 넓고 bimodal size 입도 분포를 가지면서 random orientation을 가진 3${\mu}$m 알루미나가 분산된 복합체가 최적의 기계적 특성 및 충진률이 관찰되었으며 강도와 인성값은 각각 519MPa, $4.5MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$이었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 자성입자인 막대 모양의 $\gamma$-$Fe_{2}O_{3}$$CrO_2$ 분산액에 대한 유변학적 거동을 조사하였다. 특히 입자의 농도와 전단속도의 변화에 따른 자성 입자 분산액의 점도 거동을 살펴봄으로써 분산액의 미세구조 상태 및 입자의 배향에 영향을 주는 입자의 모양이 점성 소모에 미치는 영향을 조사였는데, 평균장(mean field) 이론과 Mooney식을 통해 분산액의 점도 거동을 해석하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 모든 자성입자 분산액의 본성 점도가 희박 분산액의 수력학 이론으로부터 얻는 값보다 큰 것을 알 수가 있었는데, 이러한 사실은 분산액내에 자성입자의 고유한 인력에 기인하여 분산 용매를 내포하고 있는 덩어리(flocs)의 존재를 뒷받침하고 있다.

  • The Facing Targets Sputtering(FTS) system has several advantages for preparing films over a wide range of working gas pressure on plasma-free substrates. Co-Cr thin films seem to be one of the most promising media for perpendicular magnetic recording system. In this study, the capabillities of the system fordepositing C0-Cr films have been investigated. Under various Ar gas pressure, films with morphologically dense microstructure and good c-axis orientation were deposited, even when the incident angle $\psi_x$ of sputtered part icles to the film plane was below abount $50^{\circ}C$. this may imply that the shadowing effect by obique incidence of particle can be compensated by rapid surface diffusion owing to the high kinetic energy of particles arriving at the growing film. It has been confirmed that the FTS system is very useful for perparing Co-Cr thin films recorging media.

  • Ternary blend fibers (TBFs) based on melt blends of PEN, PET, and TLCP were prepared by melt blending and spinning to achieve high performance fibers. The reinforcement effect and the TLCP fibrillar structure resulted in the improvement of mechanical properties for TBFs. Molecular orientation was an important factor in determining the tensile strength and modulus of TBFs. Another part of this research is silica nano-particle filled PEN composites were melt-blended to improve mechanical and physicalproperties, and processability. The tensile modulus and strength were improved adding silica nano-particles to the PEN. The decreased melt viscosity by the fumed silica resulted in the improvement of the processability. The fumed silica may act as a nucleating agent in the PEN matrix.

  • In the present study, the powder metallurgical fabrication of $Bi_{0.4}Te_3Sb_{1.6}$ thermoelectric materials has been studied with specific interest to control the microstructure by the mechanical grinding process. The $Bi_{0.4}Te_3Sb_{1.6}$ thermoelectric powders with a various particle size distribution were prepared by the combination of the mechanical milling and blending processes. The specific electric resistivity of the $Bi_{0.4}Te_3Sb_{1.6}$ sintered bodies mainly depended on the orientation of the crystal structure rather than the particle size of the raw powders.

주행 유도 방향과 퍼지 제어를 이용한 이동 로봇의 자율 주행 (Autonomous Navigation for a Mobile Robot Using Navigation Guidance Direction and Fuzzy Control)

  • This paper proposes a generation method of a navigation guidance direction and a fuzzy controller to achieve the autonomous navigation of a mobile robot using a particle swarm optimization(PSO) scheme in unknown environments. The proposed navigation guidance direction is the direction that leads a mobile robot to arrive a target point simultaneously with avoiding obstacles efficiently according to the surrounding local informations. It is generated by selecting the most suitable direction of the many directions in the surrounding environment using a particle swarm optimization scheme. Also, a robot can reach a target point with avoiding the various obstacles by controlling the robot so that it can move from its current orientation to the navigation guidance direction using the proposed fuzzy controller. Simulation results are presented to show the feasibility and validity of the proposed robot navigation scheme.

석출강화된 Ni3(Al, Cr)-C계에서의 전위-석출입자간의 상호작용 (Dislocation-particle Interaction in Precipitation Strengthened Ni3(Al, Cr)-C)

  • The morphology of deformation induced dislocations in polycrystalline $Ni_3$(Al, Cr) containing $M_{23}C_6$ precipitates has been investigated in terms of transmission electron microscopy(TEM). Fine Polyhedral precipitates of $M_{23}C_6$ appeared in the matrix by aging at temperatures around 973 K after solution annealing at 1423 K. TEM examination revealed that the $M_{23}C_6$ phase and the matrix lattices have a cube-cube orientation relationship and keep partial atomic matching at the {111} interface. After deformation at temperature below 973 K, typical Orowan loops were observed surrounding the $M_{23}C_6$ particles. At higher deformation temperatures, the Orowan loops disappeared and the morphology of dislocations at the particle-matrix interfaces suggested the existence of attractive interaction between dislocations and particles. The change of the interaction modes between dislocation and particles with increasing deformation temperature can be considered as a result of strain relaxation at the interface bet ween matrix and particles.

  • Quantum graph of Sierpinski gasket type with attached leads in an electric eld is considered. We study the dependence of the transmission coecient via the wave number of the quantum particle. It has strongly resonance character. The in uence of the amplitude and the orientation of the electric eld on the coecient is investigated.

섬유/입자 혼합 금속복합재료의 강화기구 해석 (Strengthening Mechanism of Hybrid Short Fiber/Particle Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites)

  • 본 연구는 섬유/입자 혼합금속복합재료의 강화기구를 분석하는 이론적 해석방법을 제시하였다. 혼합금속복합재료의 인장강도 및 탄성계수는 같은 보강재의 부피분율 가진 단섬유복합재료에 비해서 강도가 최대 20%까지 증가한다. 이러한 증가효과는 본 연구에서 새로이 제안된 클러스터 모델을 도입한 후 이에 따른 강화효과를 Modified Rule of Mixture을 적용하여 분석하였다. 해석결과 클러터구조는 인장강도에 대해서 섬유의 효율을 탄성계수에 대해서는 배향인자를 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이론적 해석 결과는 $Al_2O_3$섬유/입자 예비성형체에 AC8A를 침투시켜 제조한 금속복합재료에 대한 실험결과와 비교되었으며 이를 통해 해석이론이 타당함을 확인하였다.

나노유체 토로이달 자연대류 루프에서의 열전달 특성 (Heat Transfer Characteristics on Toroidal Convection Loop with Nanofluids)

  • Experimental studies on single-phase toroidal circulation loop(thermosyphon) have been performed in the present study with Ag-nanofluids as a working fluids. The present paper deals with an experimental study on the heat transfer behavior of single-phase toroidal loop. Toroidal loop charged with nanofluid has been constructed and a number of tests have been carried out. Different geometric parameter, e.g., orientation has been investigated. The tests were conducted employing two fluids: distilled water and Ag-nanofluid of various volume concentrations. The experiments at Rayleigh number from $10^5$ to $10^6$ showed a systematic and slight deterioration in natural convective heat transfer. It was observed that the deterioration due to the particle concentration was in the range of 5-10%. At a given particle concentration of 0.05%, abrupt decrease in the Nusselt number and the Raleigh number was observed. The present study with toroidal loop shows that the application of nanofluids for heat transfer intensification should not be decided only by the effective thermal conductivity with increasing particle concentration.
