The purpose of this study is to compare on the productive activities and life satisfaction between rural and urban elderly. Economic activities and caring labor activity had a negative effect on life satisfaction. but, community participation had a positive effect. In other words, the concept of productive activities in life satisfaction has multidimensionality. Therefore, using multiple indicators to measure is inappropriate. And, according to Chow test, coefficients that describe the structure of life satisfaction were different between the elderly living in rural and urban. The self-actualization needs of the elderly can be interpreted as due to be implemented differently, because of the different cultures of urban and rural areas. And, In life satisfaction, we have found that individual volunteer activity is more effective than volunteer through groups.
This study is a descriptive research study for the elderly who participated in the community's fair to identify the factors of the convergent impact of perceived health conditions, health promotion activities and dementia anxiety on the quality of health-related life. The research subjects were surveyed on 435 senior citizens aged 65 or older among the participants in the 2019 Regional Exposition, and analyzed using statistics, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 21.0 program. According to the study, the quality of life related to health affects 53.0% of the convergence factors such as perceived health conditions, health promotion activities, monthly income, and economic conditions. Therefore, various community events or programs that can lead to the reduction of dementia anxiety and the improvement of health promotion activities will have to be developed to motivate or make promotional efforts for senior citizens to participate in community events or programs, which will enable senior citizens to build social networks through the participation of various programs in the community, thereby improving health promotion activities and reducing dementia anxiety, which will improve the quality of life for senior citizens.

Eco-tourism has been recognized as a form of sustainable development that simultaneously satisfies the need for environmental preservation and the activation of local economies. Although some research findings relating to its positive environmental and social effects have been published, there is still controversy regarding its pros and cons in terms of its actual economic benefits, and little research about how they can be increased. Thus, the following research analyzes how the tour activities, attitudes and satisfaction of 314 actual visitors was related with their consumption behaviors, by surveying tourists to Suncheon Bay, a highly popular destination with a large number of visitors. The results are as follows. First, if the tourists were involved in a link-up tour, had prior eco-tourism experience, or had researched information on SunCheon bay eco-tourism before their visit, these were all positively correlated with consumption behaviors, and increased the amount of money they spent. In particular, among tour spending activities, accommodation cost is shown to be highly correlated with tour activities. Second, Free Independent Tourist(FIT) tended to show more positive tour attitudes than package tourists, spending more on accommodation and experience programs. The visitors to SunCheon Bay showed strong environmental attitudes, followed by social and cultural attitudes, and economic attitudes, in that order, and tourists with positive attitudes had a high rate of participation in experience programs. In addition, program participants showed a willingness to donate, and high satisfaction. Therefore, the following thesis proposes that Free Independent Tourist(FIT) should be induced to increase their contribution to the local eco-tourism economy, and highlights the need to develop various experience programs, aggressive advertisements and educational activities.

The global value chain, as a major feature of the contemporary global economic system, has been mainly led by developed countries. Whereas developing countries have taken the relatively low value-added activities and this made geographical imbalances in value distribution. This imbalance in value distribution, however, began to gradually alleviated. Related to this phenomenon, the purpose of this research is to analyze the factors affecting factors. Focused on the method of upgrading the industry in the global value chain, the impact on the acquisition of value-added in developing countries was analyzed among the various factors to achieve the research purpose. Panel analysis was conducted on all industries, food and tobacco industries, textile and clothing industries, computer and electornics industries, and automobile industries of the OECD Value-Added Trade Data (TiVA). As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that in all industries, value-added acquisition in developing countries was improved by increased total production, high value-added product production and participation in early stage. The analysis results by detailed industry showed slightly different patterns depending on the characteristics of each industry.
Since the Industrial Age, economic activities have raised environmental concerns, emphasizing the importance of biodiversity conservation areas. However, a fundamental contradiction exists between conservation and utilization, leading to conflicting interests. In light of these issues, the aim of this study was to propose efficient operational strategies for future urban biodiversity conservation areas, while also promoting local community economic development. Accordingly, the focus was the Gwangneung Forest Biosphere Reserve as a case study. The findings reveal the following. First, all local residents recognize the importance of the biosphere reserve and hold a high regard for its direct role in conservation. Second, developing and promoting brands appears to have a more positive impact on local economic activation than activating projects linked to the biosphere reserve. Simultaneously, local residents have expressed negative evaluations of indiscriminate facility development, fearing reckless expansion. Third, if governance is promoted in the future, community participation will likely increase, leading to a strengthening of conservation awareness and the establishment of a framework among local residents and those in adjacent areas. Findings of this study are expected to serve as fundamental data for establishing effective communication among local residents in protected areas facing similar challenges, thus facilitating efficient decision-making processes.

Public spaces in the cities are social and economic resources to maintain sustainable urban revitalization. As an importance of public spaces is getting increased, many cities focus on public space management and introduce their own management system. NYC Plaza Program is one of the public space management systems in USA and it was designed in order to transform underused roads and streets into pedestrian public spaces throughout the New York City. Plaza management system works with private organizations' participation as NYC Department of Transportation empowers selected private organizations to the right of management and assists their efforts. In this study, we focused on how the plazas are managed by private sectors and seek to find out characteristics of types of management methods based on landuse(residential, commercial and openspace) status around plazas. We analyzed 61 plazas that generated by NYC Plaza Program with three major conditions of management system including organization, fund and activities. There are three major findings from the analysis. 1)In most residential surrounded plazas, resident-initiative organizations manage small scaled fund and activities meanwhile public agencies support their management. 2)BID is a dominant tool in the commercial surrounded plazas. BID provides with secured fund, mid-sized activities and a broad network with commercial facilities. 3)Openspace-surrounded types are usually using supports of exiting organizations and fund system.
This study investigates the collective aspects of hunting motivation and hunters' attitude toward natural environment. Data were collected from three different types of respondents : 148 hunters who purchased hunting license between November 1992 and March 1993 in Cholla Province. 120 university students and 260 Suwon residents. The 26 items out of 90 items were selected to develop an attitude scale toward natural environment. Results of ANOVA revealed that there were significant differences among five groups(hunters, urban residents and students from 3 major fields) in terms of their attitude values. Hunters' attitude value toward natural environment was the highest among five different types of respondents. Two major motives for hunting participation are 'exercise' and 'like out-of-doors'. Factor analysis presents eight motivational dimensions underlying hunter's involvement in the activities: 1)stewardship, 2)social contact, 3)show-off, 4)sportsmanship, 5)like to kill, 6)recreation/relax, 7)economic gain, and 8)being alone. The correlation between the motivational factor of 'economic gain' and the attitudinal item of 'relationship between man and nature' was negative(r=-0.28). There is a positive correlation(r=0.24) between the motivation of 'being alone' and the attitude of 'needs for natural environment'. These relationships indicate that individual's attitude value decreases when one perceives nature as economic goods, while it increases when one visits nature to relieve stress and to develop self-esteem.
To this day, conflicts have intensified between managers who want to preserve biosphere reserves and citizen who want to develop them. Based on this problem, this study seeks to investigate the establishment of a forum for communication between various stakeholders and to promote the economic development of local communities while preserving biodiversity. First, in terms of conservation, the results indicated that Gyeonggi Province and Namyangju City highly valued direct conservation activities in biosphere reserves, whereas Pocheon and Uijeongbu City highly valued indirect conservation functions through management or monitoring. Second, in terms of development, it was found that there were differences in the roles, perceptions and responsibilities with respect to biosphere reserves among the different layers of government: the central government agency, the Cultural Heritage Administration, the metropolitan government, Gyeonggi-do, and the local governments, Pocheon, Namyangju, and Uijeongbu. Third, in terms of logistical support, which serves as a function for communication and practical participation among management entities, the results suggested that it was necessary to establish a comprehensive decision-making organization for efficient management and operation and to provide opportunities for active participation. The study can be utilized as a basic reference for developing efficient communication by management entities in protected areas with similar challenges.
