Assessment of the Global Rating of Knee Function in Patients Following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess the validity of the global rating of knee function as a measure of participation restrictions experienced during activities of daily living and sports by patients with a history of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Forty-three subjects (33 males, 10 females, age=20.3 ± 1.3 years), at a mean of 31.2 ± 14.4 months following ACLR, participated in this study. During testing, subjects were first asked to provide a global rating of function by assessing their level of knee function on a 0 to 100 scale, with 0 points representing complete loss of function due to their knee injury and 100 points representing their level of function prior to their knee injury. After providing a global rating of function, subjects completed the Knee Outcome Survey (KOS) Activities of Daily Living Scale (ADLS) and Sports Activity Scale (SAS), which served as the measure of participation restrictions in this study. Results: Pearson product correlations revealed moderate relationships between the global rating of function and the ADLS (r=0.66, p<0.0001) and SAS (r=0.69, p<0.0001). Conclusions: The global rating of knee function provides a valid measure of participation restrictions experienced during activities of daily living and sports by patients with a history of ACLR.

실습교과목에 가상현실(VR)을 활용한 교수·학습 사례 및 효과 연구 (A Study on Teaching and Learning Cases and Effects Using Virtual Reality (VR) in Practice Subjects)

  • This study developed and taught VR content to be used in clothing design and composition practice, which are practical subjects for home education students at the College of Education, and examined the learning effects on students who participated in VR experiences. First, after experiencing classes using VR content, students' perceptions of classes were examined considering participation, class level, expectations, and satisfaction through a survey. As a result of examining the experience of learning sewing machines in classes using VR content and changes in perception of classes, it was found that the class level, class expectations, and satisfaction were affected. As a result of comparative analysis of VR experiences and the perception of VR classes prior to experiencing VR content related to sewing machines developed for practical subjects, VR experiences affected class participation, class level, expectations, but satisfaction was not affected. The advantages of the VR class that students mentioned in the subjective evaluation included interest in the class, the degree of participation, the VR experience, and the use of VR. As for the disadvantages, difficulties in using the device, dizziness, frustration when using the device, and limitations of the program were mentioned.

"환경"과 부전공 자격연수의 문제점과 개선방향 (The problems and improvement directions of certificate in-service training for "Environment" subjects)

  • The quality of environmental education in school depends on the quality of environment teacher, who develops his/her ability through avalible courses such as in-service training and communication et al. This study was performed with the questionnaire to 179 teachers who participated in certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects on winter of '95 and summer of '96. The questionnaire included 28 items, which could be categorized 5 parts : the environmental consciousness of teachers, their awareness of environmental education in schools, the reason of participation, the limits and requirements of learning field, avalible teaching and learning methods. The improvements and suggestions derived from this study are summarized as follows: First, it is necessary to differentiate in-service training concerning environment, because the motive of teacher's participation is diverse and is not always suitable to the purpose of certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects. Second, the teaching contents and programs of certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects have to be various according to the characteristics and major subjects of teachers. Third, it deserves special emphasis that the field trips and survey for the experiential study in field is supplemented in the teaching contents and programs of certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects. Also, it is necessary to strengthen the environmental ethics and philosophy in the teaching contents and programs.

대학교 혼합학습(Blended Learning) 환경에서 학습참여도, 학업성취도, 학습만족도에 영향을 미치는 e-러닝 학습전략 (E-Learning Strategies Affecting the levels of Participation, Achievement and Satisfaction in the University Blended Learning Environment)

  • 이 연구에서는 대학의 혼합학습 환경에 참여한 학습자를 대상으로 학업성취도, 학습만족도, 학습참여도에 영향을 미치는 e-러닝 학습전략의 요인을 조사하고자 하였다. 이 연구를 위해 K대학교에서 혼합학습(BL)에 참여하는 58명을 선정하였다. 연구를 위하여 e-러닝 학습전략, 학업성취도, 학습만족도를 측정하였고, 학습참여도는 LMS의 로그인 정보를 분석하였다. 자료 분석방법으로는 학습자들의 e-러닝 학습전략의 수준을 알아보기 위해 평균과 표준편차를 구하였다. 학업성취도, 학습참여도, 학습만족도를 예측할 수 있는 e-러닝 학습전략을 알아보기 위해서는 선형 회귀분석을 하였다. 연구결과, 학업성취도를 예측하는 변인으로는 시간관리전략, 과부하관리전략으로 규명되었다. 학습참여도를 예측하는 변인으로는 자기주도전략, 시간관리전략, 과부하관리전략으로 규명되었다. 학습만족도를 예측하는 변인으로는 다중토론관리전략, 비동시성관리전략, 사회성으로 규명되었다. 이 연구에서 규명된 예측변인을 토대로 교육효과를 높이기 위해 고려 할 사항을 제언하였다.

Variables influencing older people's participation in exercise - Based on Transtheorethical Model (TM) -

  • The purpose of this study is to identify differences in processes of change, decision making, and self-efficacy by exercise behavioral stages and determine variables significantly affecting the older people's participation in exercises. The subjects of this study included 299 people aged 65 or over who were residents of G and S districts in Busan Metropolitan City. They were selected through purposive quota sampling at colleges and centers for old people and homes in order that they could be evenly distributed over stages of pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action and maintenance. Data were analyzed using descriptive, ANOVA, Logistic Regression. Variables that discriminate between participants and non-participants in exercise include self-reevaluation, reinforcing management, cons and self-efficacy. Thus if variables that discriminate between participant and non-participation in exercise such as self-reevaluation, reinforcing management, cons and self-efficacy are fully considered in designing nursing interventions for inducing old people to become exercise participants, it would provide guidelines for nursing intervention programs as appropriate for the people's exercise stages. 아버지의 놀이참여도가 유아의 사회적 유능성과 자기조절능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Fathers' Play Participation on Young Children's Social Competence and Self-regulation)

  • This study examined the effects of fathers' play participation on young children's social competence and self-regulation. The subjects consisted of 180 fathers with children at ages between 4-7 years old from 2 preschools and 3 kindergartens located in Y city in Gyeonggi province. The analyses used for this study included the t-test and multiple regression analysis. The main findings are as follows. First, fathers' play participation was not different by sociodemographic characteristics such as fathers' age, educational level, and job. Second, fathers' participation in functional play, role play, and constructive play was positively related to social activator, reassurance, and cooperation among subscales on children's social competence. Also, fathers' participation in games was negatively related to reassurance among children and positively related to hypersensitivity among children. Third, fathers' participation in role play and functional play was positively related to children's self-monitoring and self-control. These findings suggest emphasizing fathers' play participation to improve children's social competence and children's self-regulation, and it can be helpful to underline fathers' education and to develop programs for fathers' play.

아버지의 직무스트레스와 양육태도가 양육참여도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of a Father's Occupational Stress and Rearing Attitude on Rearing Participation)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the effects of father's occupational stress and rearing attitude on rearing participation. Methods: The participants of this study were 201 fathers who are raising children in J region. The data were collected by self-report using questionnaires from August to September, 2015. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient, Scheffe test, and stepwise multiple linear regression with the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. Results: The total mean scores of occupational stress on the subjects were 40.98(${\pm}8.36$), rearing attitude were $68.54({\pm}7.18$), rearing participation were $73.16({\pm}11.34$). The study showed that occupational stress is negatively correlated with rearing participation and rearing attitude positively correlated with rearing participation. Working style and rearing attitude were identified of rearing participation. Conclusion: A father's rearing participation level was influenced by father's attitude of caring children above all. In addition, fathers' working styles were also a main factor. Therefore, it is necessary for fathers to learn rearing attitudes in a way that can develop a nursing intervention program to increase their rearing participation level.

일부 치위생과 학생의 교육만족도와 학습참여도와의 관련성 (Relationship between educational satisfaction and learning participation in dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between educational satisfaction and learning participation of dental hygiene students. Method: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 344 dental hygiene students in Gyeonggido, Chungcheongdo, and Gyeongsangdo from June 2 to 24, 2014, The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects(3 items), choice reason of dental hygiene(7 items), educational satisfaction(22 items), and learning participation(11 items). The educational satisfaction and learning participation were assessed by Likert 5 points scale. Data were analyzed by a statistical package SPSS WIN 18.0. Results: Educational satisfaction included educational environments, teaching, educational content and educational effect. Learning participation included class flow, class participation and class readiness. Gyeongsangdo students tended to have higher score than other areas. The educational effect and teaching effect had more influence on learning participation. Conclusion: To improve the better dental hygiene education, it is important to prepare the effective educational methods and find out the influencing factors for class immersion.

인적자원관리 상황에 대한 간호 관리자의 의사결정에 관한 연구 (A Study of Nurse Manager's Decision-making on Human Resource Management)

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the relationships among nurse managers' participation in decision-making process relation to human resource management and the influencing factors. Method: The subjects were 198 nurse managers who were in general hospitals over 900 beds. The data were collected from January 13 to March 13, 2006. The SPSS PC+ 12.0 program was used to analyze the data. Result: The nurse managers had greater participation in the identification phase of decision making than selection phase. The mean scores of three phases were significantly different. The satisfaction of decision making was evaluated. The higher participation in decision making, the higher satisfaction of decision making. Nurse managers' decision style tended to be more participative than autocratic. Personal and organizational factors(age and decentralization) influenced positively on participation in decision making. Decentralization and span of control influenced positively on satisfaction in decision making. Conclusion: It is necessary to permit the participation in decision making for nurse managers.

과학 대회 참여가 초등학생들의 인식, 과학 관련 태도 및 과학 탐구 능력에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Participation in Science Fairs on Perception, Science Related Attitudes and Science Inquiry Process Skill of Elementary School Children)

  • We have investigated the effects of participation in science fairs on perception, science related attitudes and science inquiry process skill of thirteen fifth-grade elementary school children in the science subjects. Questionnaires were prepared to find out student's reactions to the participation in science fairs. All participated children responded that the activities at the fairs were interesting and helpful to learning scientific knowledge and inquiring scientific questions. From the analysis of the responses we have found that the participation process including preparatory ones during the fairs may help children to enhance their science related attitudes and science inquiry process skill and can be considered as a useful science curriculum.
