Thirty female and six male rats aged fourty days were divided into two groups in order to feed them by pairfeeding for 50% dietary restriction in the pair group two weeks interval. Each group contains 15 female and three male rats matched each rat between two groups in consideration of body weight. Two female groups, one fed by 50% restricted diet and other Ad Libitum were divided into four groups each by the duration of dietary restriction during pregnancy: First ten days dietary restriction at 50% level, Last ten days dietary restriction at 50% level, Dietary restriction at 50% level for full period, And dietary unrestriction for full period Urinary total nitrogen and creatinine were determined. The birth weights of offsprings were decreased partial and full period dietary restriction of pregnant rats. There was no significant difference in the litter size of progeny due to the maternal diets. The growth was stunted in offsprings from the mothers fed restricted diet at 50% level for full period of pregnancy. No effect in the body weight gain of offsprings was observed in account of partial period of maternal dietary restriction. The urinary nitrogen of offsprings from eight different groups did not show any statistically significant difference.
In this study, canonical correlation analysis (CCA) was applied to estimate the relationship between three different sexual maturity traits (X set: days to first egg (DFE), weight of the first egg (WFE), body weight at first egg (BWFE)) and level of nutrient intake (Y set: energy (EI) and protein intake (PI)) or the egg production traits at two different periods (Z set: number of egg (NE1 and NET) and weight of egg (WE1 and WET) from 22 to 25 (Wfirst) and 22 to 33 wk of age (Wall), respectively), which were measured from 64 egg-type pullets (Isa Brown) manipulated for time of access to energy and protein sources to onset of egg production. Partial CCA (PCCA) was used to eliminate the contribution of differences in the levels of nutrient intake to canonical variables for X and Z sets at the first production period. Estimated canonical correlation coefficients between X set and Y set (0.429, p = 0.042), X set and Z set (0.390, p = 0.007 for Wfirst) and within Z set (between Wfirst and Wall; 0.780, p<0.001), and partial canonical correlation coefficient between X set and Z set (0.415, p = 0.009) were significant. Canonical weights and loadings from CCA indicated that the BWFE had the largest contribution compared to the DFE and WFE to variation of egg number produced at two different periods. The results from PCCA indicated that the contribution of PI and EI to the degree of the correlation between canonical variables for X and Z sets were unfavourable. In conclusion, the effect of body weight at sexual maturity upon the availability of nutrients can have a higher contribution to variation of egg production in pullets if the contribution of differences in nutrient intakes to onset of egg production were eliminated.
Four kinds of kalosaponins from inner bark of Kalopanax pictus Nakai as a medicinal and edible timber tree species growing in Korea was analyzed by HPLC. A considerable range of variation in the contents was observed among population. The kalosaponins contents in inner bark from each population were the highest in the Mt. Barwang (30.37 mg/g on the dry weight basis) followed by Mt. Gariwang, Hanra II, Mangun, Paltan, and Hanra II population. Growth factors that might have influenced the contents of the kalosaponins were also examined. As both analysis results of partial correlation and multiple regression, the weight of inner bark and tree age were influenced the kalosaponin O contents. The kalosaponin B contents was influenced by both the weight of inner layer bark and annual mean DBH increment. The contents of kalosaponins appeared to be closely related to the inner bark characteristics.
The purpose of this study is to construct a flatfish outlook model that is consistent with the "Fisheries outlook" monthly publication of the fisheries outlook center of the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI). In particular, it was designed as a partial equilibrium model limited to flatfish items, but a model was constructed with a dynamic ecological equation model (DEEM) system, considering biological breeding and shipping times. Due to limited amounts of monthly data, the market equilibrium price was calculated using a recursive model method as the inverse demand. The main research results and implications are as follows. As a result of estimating young fish inventory levels, the coefficient of the young fish inventory in the previous period was estimated to be 0.03, which was not statistically significant. Because there is distinct seasonality, when estimating the breeding outcomes, the elasticity of breeding in the previous period was found to exceed 0.7, and it increased more as the weight of the fish increased, in addition, the shipment coefficient gradually increased as the weight increased, which means that as the fish weight increased, the shipment compared to the breeding volume increased. When estimating shipments, the elasticity of breeding in previous period was estimated to respond elastically as the weight increases. The price flexibility coefficient of the total supply was inelastically estimated to be -0.19. Finally, according to a model predictive power test, the Theil U1 was estimated to be very low for all of the predictors, indicating excellent predictive power.
The purpose of this study is to provide the apparel manufacturers who have not been effectively preparing for worldwide trends of rapid increase in overweight population with fundamental data to develop updated domestic market through the findings derived from the actual dissatisfaction factors in purchasing of a garment by overweight body customers excluded in the apparel industry. The results of study are as follows : Considering the relationships with dissatisfaction factors in purchasing ready-to-wear according to the interests in weight control, there is a slight difference in the partial intention from degree of self-recognition of body figure and interests in weight control and motivation of interests in weight control. As a results, first, the more recognition of obesity, the more dissatisfaction with "product variety" and "purchasing decision". Second, the more interests in weight control, the more dissatisfaction with product variety in purchasing of ready-to-wear. Third, the more self-recognition of obesity as the motivation of interests in weight control, there is a high dissatisfaction with product variety.
In the present study, a tunnel type soundproof wall with partial opening is proposed to reduce the environmental noise caused by railway vehicles traveling on bridges, which affects residents of high-rise apartment buildings; the study also attempts to minimize load due to wind and the weight of the wall. Applying the principles of computational fluid dynamics and structural mechanics, and the ray tracing method, a reduction in noise as well as of the overall weight of the soundproof walls is estimated. Analysis results show that the proposed soundproof wall with a partial opening weighs less, while reducing the wind loading by up to 30%. To prevent direct propagation of sound through openings in the wall, an acoustic louver, which is a type of silencer, could be considered for the opening. In order to achieve a similar noise effect with existing insulation material, the fluid flow and the insulation effect of the acoustic louver are analyzed. As the considered opening is in the range of 30~40% of the total length of the soundproof wall, the noise effect and wind load are reduced by 10dB and 25% respectively. Consequently, opening some part of tunnel type soundproof walls and installing louvers on the wall openings can have the effects of weight-reduction and reduced wind load. If a partial opening is applied with proper sound material application, a gain of an additional 5~10dB of noise reduction can be achieved.

A feeding experiment was conducted to determine the use of distillers dried grain (DDG) as a partial replacement for fish meal in the diet for juvenile rockfish, Sebastes schlegeli. Four iso-nitrogenous (50% crude protein) and iso-caloric (4.3 kcal/g) diets (designated as DDG0, DDG7, DDG14, and DDG21) were formulated to contain 0, 7, 14, and 21% DDG. Triplicate groups of juvenile rockfish (initial body weight, $10.2{\pm}0.2g$) were fed one of the experimental diets to visual satiety twice a day (09:00 and 17:00) for 8 weeks. At the end of the feeding trial, survival of rockfish was above 97% and not affected by dietary DDG levels (P>0.05). Weight gain, feed efficiency and daily feed intake of juvenile rockfish were significantly decreased with increase of dietary DDG levels (P<0.05). Condition factor, hepatosomatic index and visceralsomatic index of juvenile rockfish were not significantly affected by dietary DDG levels (P>0.05). No significant differences were observed in the contents of moisture, crude protein, crude lipid and ash of the whole body and dorsal muscle in juvenile rockfish fed the experimental diets (P>0.05). Therefore dietary inclusion of DDG as a replacement for fish meal could depress the growth of juvenile rockfish.

This study was conducted to explore the optimum proportion of zeolite and zeolite-kaolin as additives to cement clinker and gypsum samples, while maintaining the strength properties of produced environmentally sustainable cements. According to the British standard method, zeolite was added to cement clinker in proportions of 5-12% and 10-12% by weight, respectively, in the preparation of samples of zeolite-containing cement and zeolite-kaolin-based cement. Kaolin was used as a second additive as 10-20% of the total weight. The compressive strength tests were performed on base cement samples according to a standard procedure given in ASTM C109 Compressive Strength of Hydraulic Cement. These values were compared with those of the reference sample and the Omani allowable limits. The results indicated that the best compressive strength values were obtained with 88% cement clinker, 5% gypsum, and 7% zeolite for the zeolite-containing cement. Quantities of 70% cement clinker, 5% gypsum, 10% zeolite, and 15% kaolin gave the best results for zeolite-kaolin-based cement, resulting in a substitution of than 25% cement clinker. The study concluded that the partial cement clinker replacement using zeolite/kaolin combination may have a great influence on the reduction of $CO_2$ emission and energy saving in cement manufacturing.

This research aims to study the utilization of olive waste ash (OWA) in the production of concrete as a partial substitute for cement. Effects of using OWA on the physical and mechanical properties of concrete mixtures have been investigated. This is done by carrying out tests involving the addition of various percentages of OWA to cement (0%, 5%, 10% and 15%). For each percentage, tests were performed on both fresh and hardened concrete; these included slump test, unit weight test and compressive strength test after 7, 28 and 90 days. Durability tests were investigated in solutions containing 5% NaOH and MgSO4 by weight of water. In addition, resistance to high temperatures was tested by subjecting the cubes to high temperatures of up to 170℃. The results of this research indicate that a higher percentage of OWA gives a lower compressive strength and lower workability but higher performance in terms of durability against both different weather conditions and high temperatures.
Fragility functions are determined for braced steel moment frames (SMFs) with plans such as square-, T-, L-, U-, trapezoidal-, and semicircular-shaped, subjected to blast. The frames are designed for gravity and seismic loads, but not necessarily for the blast loads. The blast load is computed for a wide range of scenarios involving different parameters, viz. charge weight, standoff distance, and blast location relative to plan of the structure followed by nonlinear dynamic analysis of the frames. The members failing in rotation lead to partial collapse due to plastic mechanism formation. The probabilities of partial collapse of the SMFs, with and without bracing system, due to the blast loading are computed to plot fragility curves. The charge weight and standoff distance are taken as Gaussian random input variables. The extent of propagation of the uncertainties in the input parameters onto the response quantities and fragility of the SMFs is assessed by computing Sobol sensitivity indices. The probabilistic analysis is conducted using Monte Carlo simulations. The frames have least failure probability for blasts occurring in front of their corners or convex face. Further, the unbraced frames are observed to have higher fragility as compared to counterpart braced frames for far-off detonations.
