According to the notion that anxious attachment may not explain depression fully, there has been abundant studies investigating the mediating factors affecting the relationship between anxious attachment and depression. However, there was no previous study examining the mediating effect of self-absorption. Therefore, the present study examined the mediating effect of self-absorption on the relationships between adult anxious attachment and depression for 283 college students. To examine relationships among variables, structural equation modeling analysis was utilized. and the present study found a partial mediation effect of self-absorption in the relationship between anxious attachment and depression. This result suggests that anxious attachment influences attentional process and as a result, the maladoptive self-focused attention can precipitate depression. Current findings can contribute to the field by providing knowledge about risk factors and cognitive mediators affecting mental health of college students who are in "transitional period" in their life. Future studies can investigate interactions among risk, protective, and mediating factors affecting the relationship between anxious attachment and depression among college students.

Purpose: Nurse's second victim experiences could influence organizational negative work-related outcome. The purpose of this study was to investigate the casual relationship between nurses' second victim experience and third victim experience and multiple mediation effects of second victim supports. Methods: A cross-sectional, self-report survey (the Second Victim Experience and Support Tool) was conducted with 305 nurses working in a general hospital. Data were collected from October 20 to November 25, 2016 and analyzed using SPSS Win version 23.0. Results: The nurses' perceived second victim experience was $3.24{\pm}0.61$ and the third victim experience was $3.12{\pm}0.92$. Nurses' second victim experience was found to have a direct effect on increasing third victim experience and indirect effect of colleague support as mediator (p<.05). However, institutional support and supervisor support had not a partial and indirect effect on third victim experience. Conclusion:This study is one of the first to connect second victim experience to third victim experience in South Korea. This study broadens the understanding of the negative effects of a second victim experience influence third victim experience. When involvement in patient safety events, the important role of colleague support in limiting nurse's third victim experience have been acknowledged. This study reinforces the efforts health care leaders are making to develop interventional programs to colleague support their staff as they recover from adverse event involvement.
This study attempts to test the effects of neighborhoods on children and adolescents' alcohol, cigarette and marijuana use. Theoretically, this study was guided by Akers' (1998) SSSL model as potential explanations for understanding the linkage and provided partial test of the model. More specifically, it aims to test the mediation effects of one of core propositions of the SSSL model; whether differential association with deviant peers as well as with conforming peers mediates social disorganization of neighborhoods on adolescent substance and drug use in a different direction. Using multilevel regression techniques with robust standard error, this study utilized data from 1,791 children and adolescents who were nested in 80 neighborhoods in Chicago. The findings of the study provide mixed supports for the SSSL model. That is, it found that there are not only mediation effects but also moderation effects of differential association on children and adolescents' substance and drug use.
This study was conducted to check the cabin crew's safety perception in relation to the airline's safety climate and cabin crew's safety action and to verify that the safety perception's mediation effects. The results of the study confirmed that all three factors of the safety climate have a significant impact on safety perception, and among them, safety practice is the most significant. Accordingly, Airlines need to establish a community that enables real-time information exchange for air accidents so that the cabin crew can present real-time examples of safety-related accidents. In addition, it will be necessary to work with external safety agencies to form an active attitude for the establishment of safety procedures in order to prevent recurrence of safety problems while considering the causes of such incidents internally in the event of an airline safety accident. In addition, it was confirmed that safety training was the most significant factor to safety action, among which all three elements of the safety climate had a significant effect on safety action. Therefore, airlines need to expand practical training on aircraft to full-scale safety training to build an immediate resolution for cabin crews in the event of an air accident. In addition, safety training should be established to encourage collaboration among aviation safety-related personnel to participate in safety training together to address aviation safety from a diverse point of view. Safety perception was has a significant effect on safe action. Therefore, airlines should reinforce the airline's safety management system by checking the status of the cabin crew's safety perception extending the level of punishment to the scope of retirement or disqualification to establish a firm awareness of safety. Finally, the safety perception has demonstrated partial mediation effects in relation to the safety climate and safety action. Therefore, the airline needs to improve the duties of the cabin crew that interferes with cabin safety duties. In addition, airlines should utilize advertisements emphasizing that safety is first.
Recently, interest in organizational performance has been increasing due to marketization and diversification of supplier introduced in long-term care system. To analyze the effects of caregivers' calling on the organizational performance of long-term care facilities and to examine the mediating effects of job satisfaction on the path, data were collected from caregivers in Seoul and Kyonggi-do. Multiple regression analysis was used to examine the effect of caregivers' calling on job satisfaction and job performance, and the mediating effect of job analysis was tested by hierarchical regression analysis. As a result, caregivers' calling had a positive effect on job performance and job satisfaction, and the job satisfaction showed full mediation effect between caregivers' calling and effectiveness and partial mediation effect between caregivers' calling and efficiency. Based on this, we discussed the need to improve efficiency through job satisfaction management and to manage efficiency by managing job satisfaction and vocation awareness.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect of self-regulation(SR) and the moderating effect of career identity(CI) in predicting academic achievement(AA) by middle school students' achievement value(AV). The subjects were 1,088 male and 970 female students in the third year of middle school. A conditional process analysis using SPSS and Hayes' process macro was conducted. The results were as follows. First, the partial mediation effect of SR was significant in the relationship between AV and AA. Second, the moderating effect of CI was notable in the relationship between AV and SR, and AV and AA respectively. Finally, the mediation effect of AV on AA through SR was found to decrease as CI increased. These results show that supporting the development of CI for students with low AV helps to improve SR and AA. However, as the effect of CI was found to be weaker than the effect of AV or SR on AA, the follow-up research exploring ways to support the achievement value of middle school students are suggested.
Purpose: Nursing students experience a high degree of perceived stress during skills training. The resulting academic sentiment is worthy of research. This study examined the learning motivation as a mediator in the association between perceived stress and positive deactivating academic emotions in nursing students undergoing skills training. Methods: A survey was conducted on 386 third-year undergraduate nursing students at a university in Changchun, China, in 2017. The survey included the items on perceived stress, learning motivation during nursing skill training, and general academic emotion. There were 381 valid responses (response rate=98.7%). Based on the results of partial correlation and stepwise multiple regression equations, the study examined the mediation model between perceived stress, learning motivation and positive-deactivating academic emotions using process 2.16 (a plug-in specifically used to test mediation or moderation effect in SPSS). Results: There was a significant negative correlation between students' perceived stress and learning motivation during nursing skills training and positive-deactivating academic emotions. Nervousness, loss of control, and interest in developing reputation had significant predictive effects on positive-deactivating academic emotions. The mediating model was well supported. Conclusion: Learning motivation during nursing skills training lessened the damage of perceived stress on positive-deactivating academic emotions. Improving students' motivation to learn could reduce their perceived stress and build more positive emotions. Positive emotions during learning played an important role in helping nursing students improve skills and enhance their nursing competence.
This study analyzes the mediation or moderation effect of the characteristics of perceived organizational support (POS) and relational culture on the ambidextrous organizational performance such as exploration and exploitation. This study empirically verified using the human capital corporate panel 548 data provided by Korea research institute for vocational education & training. The empirical results of the present study are as follows. First, it is shown that formal learning and informal learning provided to the members have a positive effect on ambidextrous organizational performance. In addition, POS showed that full and partial mediation effects of the formal learning and informal learning on ambidextrous organizational performance. Finally, relational culture have an important influence on positively moderating the relationship between informal learning and exploitative performance.
This study investigated the relationship of authentic leadership(AL) with positive psychological capital(PPC) and teamwork competence(TC) and the mediation effect of PPC to facilitate theoretical and practical development of AL. For the empirical analysis, data were collected from the sample of 172 nurses working at general hospitals. Collected data were analyzed with factor analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, mediated regression analysis using SPSS 21.0 to test the hypotheses. Results showed that the AL was positively related to the PPC as well as TC and the PPC was positively related to the TC. And further, the PPC is found as playing as a partial mediator on the relationship between the AL and the TC. These results provided the positive influence of authentic leadership on work team. Based on these results, practical implications were discussed for effectiveness of nurse organizations. Lastly, limitations were indicated and some possible directions for authentic leadership and its relationship to work team were suggested for future studies.
Purpose - This study aims to verify the direct causal relationship between cost competitiveness and global network competitiveness, which are the tangible service quality factors determined by the shipping company, which in turn affect the shipper's customer satisfaction. Additionally, we empirically investigate the intangible, related service qualities determined by shipping companies, such as operational competitiveness and customer relationship quality, and how these then positively affect customer satisfaction through the formation of trust. Therefore, we examine the mediating effect of trust formation among different contractors for shipping services. Design/methodology - In order to examine the shipping company's tangible and intangible service-qualities perceived by the shipper on customer satisfaction and the process of trust formation between contractors, we collected valid data from 114 respondents out of 200 distributed questionnaires. The respondents consisted of domestic freight forwarders who engage with domestic and international shipping and logistics agencies. Descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability, convergent and discriminant validities, common method bias, and PLS-SEM (partial least square-structural equation model) were analyzed using the program STATA 16. Findings - The findings of this study are as follows. First, our results showed that all hypotheses assumed in this study had statistically significant supporting evidence. Second, it was found that the mediating effect of trust was significant in affecting the quality of intangible service- qualities for customer satisfaction. Third, through supplementary analysis, we found that the global network competitiveness of domestic shipping companies will increase in importance in the future. In conclusion, the theoretical and practical implications of these findings are presented. Originality/value - This study reaffirmed the traditional causal relationship between customer satisfaction and tangible service quality. Additionally, we also contribute to the literature on the understanding of the causal relationship between trust formation and customer satisfaction through intangible interactions from a long-term perspective.
