Let (M, g) be a complete Riemannian manifold and G be a closed (connected) subgroup of the group of isometries of M. Then the union ${\MM}$ of all principal orbits is an open dense subset of M and the quotient map ${\MM} \longrightarrow {\BB} := {\MM}/G$ becomes a Riemannian submersion for the restriction of g to ${\MM}$ which gives the quotient metric on ${\BB}$. Namely, B is a singular (complete) Riemannian space such that $\partialB$ consists of non-principal orbits.

Let (M, g) be a noncompact complete Riemannian manifold of dimension n $\geq$ 3 with scalar curvature S, which is close to O. With conditions on a conformal invariant and scalar curvature of (M, g), we show that there exists a conformal metric (equation omitted), near g, whose scalar curvature (equation omitted) = 0 by gluing solutions of the corresponding partial differential equation on each bounded subsets $K_{i}$ with ∪$K_{i}$ = M.

In this paper we extend Takahashi's fixed point theorem on discrete semigroups to general semi-topological semigroups. Next we define the semi-asymptotic non-expansive action of semi-topological semi-groups to give a partial affirmative answer to an open problem raised by A.T-M. Lau.

We define a stratification and a partition of a finite topological space and define a partial order on the partition. Open subsets can be described completely in terms of this partially ordered partition. We associate a directed graph to the partially ordered partition of a finite topological space. This gives a one-to-one correspondence between finite topological spaces and a certain class of directed graphs.

We consider the existence of solutions of a nonlinear biharmonic equation with Dirichlet boundary condition, ${\Delta}^2u+c{\Delta}u=f(x, u)$ in ${\Omega}$, where ${\Omega}$ is a bounded open set in $R^N$ with smooth boundary ${\partial}{\Omega}$. We obtain two new results by linking theorem.

Postpneumonectomy empyema is an infrequent but dreaded complication. The seriousness of this complication is impossible to eliminate the space containing the infection, and consequently, it is difficult to sterilize the space. The time from pneumonectomy to the development of an empyema ranges from several days to several years, with most evident with 4 weeks. We experienced a case of postpneumonectomy empyema that occurred 27 1/2 years after initial pneumonectomy. She was treated with intrapleural antiseptic irrigation and open-tube drainage following partial decortication. The patient had an uneventful recovery and was discharged from hospital with improved condition.

The serotonin reuptake inhibitors(SRIs) and the serotonin selective reuptake inhibitors(SSRIs) are considered the first choice agents for pharmacologic treatment of obsessive-compulsive disordr(OCD). However, many patients with OCD experience little or no improvement in their symptoms when treated with SRIs or SSRIs. Patients who have experienced a partial or no response to an SRI/SSRI at 10 to 12 weeks are often considered for augmentation strategies. Nearly every class of psychotropic medications has been tried in an open fashion, though augmentation strategies have been somewhat disappointing.
