The engine is the most significant and essential part of the aircraft. As a result, systematical handling in the aircraft development stage is required from engine design to implementation to the full-scale airframe. This survey demonstrates the procedures demanded by the KAS 23 Civil Aircraft to acquire the engine Type Certification and the flight test procedures for ensuring the operational stability. Surveys were conducted on domestic and international aircraft engine certifications, technical regulations and documentations related to the Means of Compliance for flight test development stage. In addition, organized reference items that should be considered for the certification of engine flight test procedures were reviewed based on the KC-100.

The Bird strike to small aircraft has not been an issue because of it's low speed and usage as a private aircraft. So, the compliance of the bird strike regulation is limited to large fixed-wing aircraft such as the commuter category in FAR Part 23 and the civil aircraft in FAR Part 25, generally. However, the forecast of dramatic increasing of VLJ(Very Light Jet) and (light time of general aviation due to Air-taxi for the point to point transportation, would rise up the need of bird strike regulations and a safety enhancement in normal and utility categorized aircraft. In this study, the safety enhancement concept using a crushable foam for the bird strike to small aircraft wing leading edge, and the evaluation about the safety of the bird strike to small aircraft are proposed using the explicit finite element analysis.

The Test and Evaluation (T&E) process is an integral part of the Systems Engineering Process. The purpose of Test and Evaluation (T&E) in a system development is to identify the areas of risk to be reduced or eliminated. In this study, when develop aircraft of Civil Aviation with development experience of Military Aircraft, it is that establish Test and Evaluation process. Test and Evaluation for KC-100 small aircraft development can divide to certification test and development test. Certification test is proved compliance about Korea Airworthiness standard (KAS Part 23), through Development Test verify required performance of aircraft. These Test and Evaluation Process is more efficient and optimized.
An aircraft carrier is a combat ship that acts as an aircraft base at sea and performs combat through aircraft mounted as a military ship operating the aircraft. The Navy proposed a 40,000-ton light aircraft carrier operation plan that could be equipped with vertical takeoff and landing fighter jets and helicopters around 2033, and based on this, this study examined the operation of aircraft control equipment among the aviation support systems required for operating light aircraft carriers in Korea. PriFly, TWR's ILARTS, ILM for airspace control, ASR, PAR, LAAS or RNAV, PALS (JPALS) for access control are required as essential equipment, and communication network and SCATT-16 are required along with URN-25 TACAN, ICLS (El/Az), ACLS OLS, MOVAS, IFLOLS, etc. This study consists of two parts, and part 2 will describe a specific control method on an aircraft carrier.
This study derived a reverse engineering procedure for verifying the design identity of original parts and developed parts for PMA(Parts Manufacturer Approval) and STC(Supplemental Type Certificate) of metal brake pads for transport aircraft, which are critical parts among aircraft parts and equipment. In Korea, the regulations for reverse engineering procedures are regulated by the Parts Manufacturer Approval Guidelines, and in the United States, AC No. 21. 303-4. In the reverse engineering for the brake pad, the detailed procedures for each component were determined by selecting verification test items to confirm identity based on sample quantity, dimensional tolerance, mechanical property measurement, material, weight and volume characteristics for each component. In addition, as a result of analyzing the regulation of Korea and United States, in the case of Korea, it is necessary to establish technical standards for braking systems for transport aircraft and regulations related to flight tests.
In this study, the aircraft technical standards of the Korea and the United States were analyzed to derive the dynamometer test procedure required to prove the compatibility for flight test certification of the metal brake pad for transport aircraft. Since the design modification of the brake systems is classified as a major change, the STC(Supplemental Type Certificate) and the PMA(Parts Manufacturer Approval) are required. In accordance with the TSO-C135a, the technical standard order for brake system in the United States, the design landing-stop test, accelerate-stop test, and most severe landing stop test were selected among the test items for flight test. The conditions for the dynamometer test are determined according to the specifications provided by aircraft manufacturer, and the brake pad condition, deceleration, and the number of test are defined according to the TSO-C135a.

Airworthiness authorities specify the technical standards of airworthiness that propose minimum requirement of the commercial transport category and apply the rules in the certification process to ensure the safety of the aircraft. The Federal Aviation Administration and other national airworthiness authorities define the fatal accident risk levels for the safety assessment of the aircraft system and establish standard procedures to apply both qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. However, an accident or incident may occur by the combination of various factors, although the aircraft is designed in accordance with the strict standards and approval by the Airworthiness Authorities. There are some key factors, such as human error, unpredictable complex system failures, degradation of the components reliability, improper maintenance task and intervals. Risk can be reduced by reflecting aircraft operational experience with similar types of aircraft in the process of aircraft development and safety assessment. Result of the root cause analysis for the Airbus A300-600 incident in which the aircraft engine reverser was deployed in the air have been introduced to reflect the design of system and related components. Also, this paper suggests to create a big-database in order to provide a feed-back to the FAR Part 25 transport category design and safety assessment of the operational experience.

Currently, the aircraft industry, aircraft parts as well as airframe have been developed in producing, the aircraft parts and fuselages have been produced the product by cutting rather than forging and casting because of the residual stress and stress concentration. In this study, the aircraft is being used in many parts of aluminium alloy 2024 in wire-cut E.D.M. The selected experimental parameters are peak current, no-load voltage, off time and feed rate. It is found that cutting mountain part on surface roughness of the curve 0.3mm than 0.25mm diameter wire electrode is stable in many uniform distribution.

In order to advance into the MRO industry, the Aviation maintenance organization with suitable for the standards for personnel, facilities and operations should be first approved by FAA and EASA. The purpose of study is designed to arrange the standards required for personnel, facility, operation rule for approval of Repair Station maintenance organizations certified by FAA PART 145 of the US Federal Aviation Regulation. Also to consider the following differences through the comparative analysis with domestic AMO certification of the information in the Management, Maintenance Process, and Quality System for approval of maintenance organization authorized, the additional EASA PART 145. As a comparative analysis on maintenance organization certification in the country between FAA and EASA, this study could show us that domestic maintenance organization, certified manual contents are used by applying just many of the FAA system. And we could know that as part of the EASA maintenance organization certification process, airmen personnel were relatively systematically segmented and controlled. For domestic maintenance organization certification, operational as policy implications we would like to present policy implications such as the implication of rating system of Aviation Mechanic License like EASA, the financial support of the training center to resolve the shortage of the FAA or EASA license holders, operational organization as "CAMO" for systematic aviation mechanic certified system should be required, continued construction of hangar or MRO for airworthiness repair under Governmental support, and varied application of DER system from FAA accordingly.
