  • While extramedullary relapse of leukemia could occur, the parotid gland is a rare site of recurrence. Extramedullary relapse involving the parotid gland could be mistaken for other diseases. Moreover, the diagnosis of this disease is often delayed due to its rarity. Herein, we present a case of extramedullary relapse of acute lymphoblastic leukemia involving the parotid gland.

  • It is frequently difficult to assess the presence of malignancy in patients with parotid tumor, because of unreliable diagnostic tools and riskful preoperative biopsy, In our case, a parotid adenocarcinoma and pleomorphic adenoma was revealed on permanent histologic section, which was made a impression as pleomorphic adenoma on preoperative Tru-Cut biopsy and intraoperative frozen section, So, the most accurate diagnosis of the parotid malignancy is a complete removal of tumor tissue, accompanied with permanent histologic section.

  • Carcinoma ex mixed tumor is a mixed tumor in which a second neoplasm develops from the epithelial component that fulfills the criteria for malignancy. This tumor occurs frequently in the parotid glands. Individuals in whom carcinoma ex mixed tumor have a past history of benign mixed tumor. These lesions contain both a benign mixed tumor as well as a malignant neoplasm. We report a case of carcinoma ex mixed tumor which occurred in the parotid gland. A 67-year-old woman presented with movable right mass. she complained pain and facial paralysis. The clinical presentation, several diagnostic images, and histopathologic findings are presented.

  • Small cell carcinoma is mainly found in the lungs and extrapulmonary origins of small cell carcinoma in GI tract, head and neck, genitourinary system consists only 4% of the tumor. Thus, small cell carcinoma of the parotid gland is an extremely rare disease. Extrapulmonary small cell carcinoma is characterized by an aggressive clinical course with early metastasis. We report a case of small cell carcinoma of parotid gland in a 82-year-old woman with painless neck mass, who was managed with radiation therapy after surgery and review of relevant literatures.

  • Initially described in 1929, Warthin's tumor is a benign neoplasm predominantly found in the parotid gland of the salivary glands. Warthin's tumor is synonymous for cystadenoma lymphomatosum, adenolymphoma, and cystadenolymphoma. This tumor usually causes minimal pain, but the patient may complain of tinnitus, pain in the ear, or deafness. The tumor is treated with surgical excision, which is easily performed due to the superficial location of the tumor. In our case, a 69-year-old man visited our clinic primarily complaining of swelling in the left parotid gland area. Computed tomography revealed well-defined margins of the tumor in the superficial lobe of the left parotid gland and heterogeneous contrast enhancement. We performed superficial parotidectomy, with the pathological examination confirming Warthin's tumor. We report a typical case of Warthin's tumor and a literature review.

  • Mandibular bone depression, also known as Stafne bone cavity, is defined as a bone depression filled mainly with salivary gland tissue. Parotid gland bone defects are infrequently observed. We report the case of a 52-year-old male patient who underwent radiographic examinations due to temporomandibular joint dysfunction, and a radiolucent area was detected in the mandibular ramus, with a provisional diagnosis of traumatic bone cyst or parotid mandibular bone defect. The patient was then referred for magnetic resonance imaging, which demonstrated a hyperintense area eroding the mandibular ramus, which corresponded to glandular tissue. Although the defect was a benign lesion, radiolucencies in the mandibular ramus lead to concerns among professionals, because their radiographic features can resemble various intrabony neoplastic lesions, such as giant cell tumors or benign tumors of the parotid gland.

  • Benign lymphoepithelial cysts of parotid gland were first described by Miculicz in 1888, have been presented for a long time, uncommonly. But, recently it has been reported with increasing frequency since the onset of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Benign lymphoepithelial cysts can be diagnosed by the fine needle aspiration in conjunction with the history and physical examination. The therapeutic options of benign lymphoepithelial cysts have been limited to aspiration, surgical resection, medical therapy, radiotherapy and sclerotherapy. Recently, we experienced a case of benign lymphoepithelial cyst of right parotid gland, so we report this case with review of the literatures.

  • Carcinosarcoma of the parotid gland is extremely uncommon and is known to be an aggressive malignant mixed tumor in which carcinomatous and sarcomatous elements coexist and metastasize together. We report a case of recurrent parotid gland carcinosarcoma that showed squamous cell carcinoma and chondrosarcoma in a 58-year-old woman.

  • Myoepithelioma is composed predominantly or exclusively of myoepithelial cells. It is most frequently located in parotid gland, the palate and the breasts. It accounts for less than l% of all salivary gland tumors. Surgical excision which accompany a marginal amount of uninvolved tissue is curative. We report a case of parotid gland myoepithelioma treated by surgery.

  • Sj${\ddot{o}}$gren's syndrome is a chronic autoimmune exocrinopathy that destroys salivary and lacrimal gland tissue. We report an unusual case of this disease in a 54-year-old woman who presented with multiple and bilateral parotid cystic masses. The multiple, small, bead-like cysts were clearly evident in the computed tomography sections in this patient, a visible reminder that this may be the initial presentation in a patient with Sj${\ddot{o}}$gren's syndrome. As the case illustrates, Sj${\ddot{o}}$gren's syndrome should be included in the differential diagnosis of multiple and bilateral cystic parotid lesions.
