승용차 브랜드 사운드를 위한 이차원 음질 인덱스 개발 (New Development of Two-Dimensional Sound Quality Index for Brand sound in Passenger Cars)

  • In automotive engineering, the brand sound is one of the important advantage strategy in a car company. For the design of brand sound, the selection of descriptive word for a car sound is one of major works in automotive sound quality research. In paper, booming sound and rumbling sound, which are professional words used by NVH engineers are used for the design of brand sound. We employed sound metrics which are the subjective parameter used in psychoacoustics. According to most research results, the relationship between subjective evaluations and sound metrics has nonlinear characteristics and is very complex. In order to link these subjective evaluations to sound metrics, the artificial neural network technology has been applied to two-dimensional sound quality index for a passenger car. These indexes is used for 46 passenger cars, which are samples of famous cars in the world. Also the preference in car sounds is evaluated by the trained NVH engineers. We coupled this preference with booming and rumbling sounds by using artificial neural network. In future, the two -dimensional sound index and preference index are very useful fur the development of brand sound in passenger cars.

An Analysis of Correlation between Personality and Visiting Place using Spearman's Rank Correlation Coefficient

  • Recent advancements in mobile device technology have enabled real-time positioning so that mobile patterns of people and favorable locations can be identified and related researches have become plentiful. One of the fields of research is the relationship between the object properties and the favored location to visit. The object properties of a person include personality, which is a major property jobs, income, gender, and age. In this study, we analyzed the relationship between the human personality and the preference of the location to visit. We used Spearman's Rank correlation coefficient, one of the many methods that can be used to determine the correlation between two variables. Instead of using actual data values, Spearman's Rank correlation coefficient deals with the ranks of the two data sets. In our research, the personality and the location data sets are used. Our personality data is ranked in five ranks and the location data is ranked in 8 ranks. Spearman's Rank correlation coefficient showed better results compared to Pearson linear correlation coefficient and Kendall rank correlation coefficient. Using Spearman's correlation coefficient, the degree of the relationship between the personality and the location preference is found to be 43%.

서울 지역 일부 중학생들의 청국장 제품의 이용 실태 및 기호도 조사 (The Study on the Consumption and the Preference of Chungkukjang Products among Middle School Students in Seoul)

  • This study was performed to investigate the consumption and the preference of chungkukjang products among the middle school students. The subject were 538 middle school students(male 283, female 255) in $3^{th}$ grade, and were asked to fill out the questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by SAS package. The result showed that most students knew about traditional chungkukjang(88.5%) and chungkukjang powder(68.2%), but only 43.5% and 29.4% of the respondents knew about raw chungkukjang and chungkukjang pill, respectively. When asked how often they eat chungkukjang products, traditional chungkukjang were taken often, but chungkukjang powder, raw chungkukjang and chungkukjang pill were shown to be taken relatively less. Over 60% of the students responded that they liked chungkukjang products, because of 'encourage by parents' and 'good for health', but there was no statistical difference by gender. When asked about the reasons for the dislike of the chungkukjang products, male students responded 'bad smell'of traditional chungkukjang, while female students 'eplied' not eating at home'. The students disliked the chungkukjang powder, chungkukjang pill and raw chungkukjang because of 'not knowing it.' These results showed that the social interest and support for the chungkukjang products were necessary and there was a need to advertise the chungkukjang products.

Preference Choice Survey of Pork Chop by French and Korean Consumers

  • Digital photographs of 16 pork chops were each modified to give 16 treatments, such as two levels each of fat cover, color, marbling and drip, giving a total of 256 images. Consumers from three locations in France and six locations in Korea selected their preferred chop from 16 treatments in different chops and repeated this selection process eight times from different groups of chops, respectively. Respondents were asked to complete a questionnaire on socio-demographic information. Both the results of the French and Korean surveys gave four clusters of consumers, but they were not the same in terms of the choice strategies used, or in terms of their relationships with the socio-demographic items. The interesting apparent similarities (such as, both color levels being equally important to consumers in both countries) and differences(such as, the strong preference for lean meat in France; no fat preference in Korea) suggest a need to compare the results from the two countries. However, due to the difference of the socio-demographic make-up of the consumer panels from the two countries, a simple and direct comparison of the clusters based on choice and their relationships with the questionnaire items is not possible, but is currently being explored.

소셜커머스의 패션명품 가격할인율이 혜택지각과 구매의도에 미치는 영향 -신뢰, 선호, 경험에 따른 차이- (Fashion Luxury Products in Social Commerce -The Effects of Price Discount on Perceived Benefit and Purchase Intention-)

  • This study examined: 1) the effects of fashion luxury product price discounts in social commerce on perceived benefit and purchase intention, and 2) differences in such effects by social commerce trust, brand and design preferences for luxury products as well as social commerce and online luxury product purchase experiences. Three discount rates representing high, mid, and low for a luxury product sold in social commerce were manipulated and tested on female consumers and 486 online responses were analyzed. The results revealed that the price discount affected perceived benefit but did not affect purchase intention. Benefits were highly perceived at high and mid discount rates compared to the low rate. Social commerce trust, brand preference, and design preference affected perceived benefit and purchase intention, but the interaction effect with price discount was observed only in the design preference to perceived benefit. The purchase experience of online luxury products also affected purchase intention. Implications from the results were also discussed.

하수관로의 면단위 및 선단위 정비 우선순위 결정을 위한 AHP-PROMETHEE기법의 적용 (Application of AHP-PROMETHEE to determine areal and linear priorities for sewer rehabilitation projects)

  • Since sewer rehabilitation program requires long construction period and enormous capital investment, determination of rehabilitation priorities is important with systematic planning considering appropriate evaluation parameters. In this research, we applied PROMETHEE(Preference Ranking Organization METHod for Evaluations) known as very objective and scientific multi-criteria decision-making analysis, using the weights determined by AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) for the selected sewer evaluation items to calculate the rehabilitation priorities for each sewer sub-catchment in basin Gusan 1 of Seoul. Preference functions and preference thresholds were estimated for each criterion of ratio of lack of hydraulic capacity of sewers, defect ratio, ratio of sewers with velocity less than its minimum criteria, and density of sewers in the sub-catchment. As a result, it was found that region d had the first priority among four sub-catchments. For each and every sewer located in region d, we could also rank sewers to be rehabilitated urgently.

Dominance, Potential Optimality, and Strict Preference Information in Multiple Criteria Decision Making

  • The ordinary multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) approach requires two types of input, alternative values and criterion weights, and employs two schemes of alternative prioritization, dominance and potential optimality. This paper allows for incomplete information on both types of input and gives rise to the dominance relationships and potential optimality of alternatives. Unlike the earlier studies, we emphasize that incomplete information frequently takes the form of strict inequalities, such as strict orders and strict bounds, rather than weak inequalities. Then the issues of rising importance include: (1) The standard mathematical programming approach to prioritize alternatives cannot be used directly, because the feasible region for the permissible decision parameters becomes an open set. (2) We show that the earlier methods replacing the strict inequalities with weak ones, by employing a small positive number or zeroes, which closes the feasible set, may cause a serious problem and yield unacceptable prioritization results. Therefore, we address these important issues and develop a useful and simple method, without selecting any small value for the strict preference information. Given strict information on both types of decision parameters, we first construct a nonlinear program, transform it into a linear programming equivalent, and finally solve it via a two-stage method. An application is also demonstrated herein.

모던 시대와 포스트모던 시대의 샤넬 스타일 특성 비교 (Comparison of the Characteristics of Chanel Style between Modern and Postmodern Period)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the characteristic of Chanel style between modern and postmodern period. The documentary research method was used for this study. The modem period was limited from around 1920 through 1939 and the postmodern period from 1990 through present for this research. The results were summarized as follows: The characteristics of clothing style in modem period were 1) the preference of slim & straight body figure as ideal one and slim & straight clothing silhouette, 2) the high fashion image for the elite by simple & basic design, 3) the emphasis on the harmony by the unity, 4) the tendency of eliminating ornaments on clothing, 5) the discontinuation of traditional way of dress code & style, and 6) the modern style. The characteristics of clothing style in postmodern period were 1) the emphasis on erotic aspects of female body and sexy design, 2) the popularization of high fashion and certain social group's fashion, 3) the tendency of harmony by mix-match, 4) the preference of ornaments in clothing, 5) the preference of retro-fashion, and 6) the continuation of modem style.

한국 범종에 대한 음향 및 선호도 분석 (Acoustic Characteristics and Timbre Preferences of Korean Bells)

  • 본 논문에서는 전국 각지의 범종 소리를 녹음하고 이를 크기에 따라 두 개의 그룹으로 분류한 후, 두 그룹에 대하여 주관청취 평가를 시행하여 사람들이 어떤 범종 소리를 선호하는지 조사하였다. 또한, 범종 음향 분석을 통해 부분음의 위치, 크기, 맥놀이 주기, 20 dB 감쇠 시간을 분석하였다. 이후, 분석된 음향학적 파라미터와 선호도의 상관관계를 파악함으로써 선호도가 높은 범종과 선호도가 낮은 범종을 구분짓는 음향학적 특징을 알아보았다.

협업 필터링을 이용한 IPTV-VOD 프로그램 추천 시스템에 대한 연구 (A Study of IPTV-VOD Program Recommendation System using Collaborative Filtering)

  • 본 연구는 IPTV 환경에서 사용자의 취향에 맞는 VOD 프로그램을 추천할 수 있는 시스템을 새로이 제안하였다. 추천 알고리즘으로는 협업 필터링 기법을 사용하였다. 사용자의 프로그램 선호 취향을 나타내는 사용자 프로파일(user profile)은 사용자와 유사한 취향의 이웃 사용자들의 프로그램 선호도와 중분류 선호도 그리고 사용자 유사도를 감안하여 1주 단위로 갱신하였다. 제안 시스템의 성능평가를 위해 시청률 조사기관인 닐슨 리서치의 24주분 지상파 및 케이블 방송 시청 데이터를 IPTV 형식에 맞게 재구성하여 사용하였으며, 다양한 실험을 통해 그 실용성을 입증하였다. 실험결과 사용자 유사도 가중치를 사용하며, 그룹 크기가 5명 그리고 추천 프로그램 수가 5개 일 때 최적의 성능을 나타내었다.
