어머니의 양육태도와 유아의 유치원 적응의 관계 (Relationships Between Mother's Child Rearing Attitudes and Child's Adjustment to Kindergarten)

  • This study investigated the relationship between mother's parenting attitudes and the adjustment to kindergarten of young children by gender and only-child/ sibling status. Subjects consisted of 210 3- to 6-year-old children and their mothers sampled from 3 kindergartens in Seoul City and Gyeongbuk Province, Korea. Instruments were the Maternal Parenting Attitude Scale (Ahn, 2000) and Kindergarten Adjustment Scale(Oh, 2006). Statistical methods were correlation and t-test. Results showed that mothers' hostile parenting attitude correlated with children's problematic adjustment to kindergarten and controlling parenting attitudes correlated with children's negative adjustment to kindergarten. Children's kindergarten adjustment varied by gender : boys' problem behavior was higher than girls'. Finally, being an only child or having siblings was not significantly related to kindergarten adjustment.

어머니의 양육행동과 유아의 또래 유능성 : 유아 내적 표상의 매개 효과 검증 (Maternal Parenting Behaviors and Preschoolers' Peer Competence : Mediating Effects of Preschoolers' Internal Representations)

  • Data were collected from 110 preschoolers, 59 boys, 51 girls (ages 4-5) and their mothers. Peer competence was assessed by the Child Behavior Scale (Birsh & Ladd, 1998) and the Peer Rating Scale (Asher et al., 1979). Children's internal representations were measured by the MacArthur Story-Stem Battery (2004) and coded by the MacArthur Narrative Coding Manual (2004). Maternal parenting behaviors were observed during mother-child interaction at home and analyzed with the Teaching Strategies Rating Scale (Erickson, Sroufe, & Egeland, 1985). Data were analyzed by structural equation modeling analysis. Results confirmed the pathway from maternal parenting behaviors via children's internal representations to peer competence showing a significantly good model fit.

부모의 양육행동이 청소년의 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향: 또래관계의 매개효과 (The Mediating Effects of Peer Relations in the Relationship between Parenting Behavior and Career Maturity for Adolescents)

  • 본 연구는 청소년을 대상으로 하여 부모의 양육행동과 진로성숙도의 관련성에서 또래관계의 매개효과를 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 자료 수집을 위하여 서울시에 있는 중학교 3학년 남녀 학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 425부의 자료를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 자료의 분석을 위해서 SPSS 18.0과 AMOS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 구조방정식 모형을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 자료를 분석한 결과, 부모의 양육행동은 청소년의 또래관계에 직접적으로 영향을 미치고 또래관계는 진로성숙도에 영향을 미쳐, 부모의 양육행동은 또래관계를 매개로 하여 진로성숙도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 또래관계의 향상을 위한 교육과 상담이 청소년의 진로성숙도 수준을 높일 수 있다는 것을 제시한다. 또한 부모의 양육행동은 또래관계에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인인 것을 알 수 있다. 본 연구는 부모의 양육행동이 또래관계를 통해 진로성숙도에 영향을 미친다는 것을 밝힘으로써 부모의 양육행동과 진로성숙도의 관련성에서 또래관계의 매개효과를 확인하였다.

학령전기 아동의 스마트폰 중독경향과 문제행동 및 어머니 양육효능감과의 관계 (Relationships Among Preschoolers' Smartphone Addiction Tendency, Their Problem Behaviors, and Parenting Efficacy of Their Mothers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the relationships among preschoolers' smartphone addiction tendency, problem behaviors, and parenting efficacy of the mothers of these children. Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive study design was used with self-administered questionnaires. A total of 83 mothers of preschoolers aged 4-6 years and their preschool teachers from a kindergarten participated in the study. Results: Mean daily time spent by the preschoolers on smartphones was about 45 minutes/day. About 40% spent more than 60 minutes/day on smartphones. The majority (69.8%) used smartphones without adult supervision. The level of smartphone addiction tendency among the preschoolers was $1.52{\pm}0.45$ on a 4-point scale. Preschoolers whose mothers use smartphones for more than 60 minutes/day showed a higher level of smartphone addiction tendency than preschoolers whose mothers use smartphones for less than 60 minutes/day. Also smartphone addiction tendency among preschoolers had a positive correlation with hyperactive-distractible behavior (r=.228, p=.038) and a negative correlation with parenting efficacy of their mothers (r=-.299, p=.006). Conclusion: Our findings demonstrated that preschooler's smartphone addiction tendency is significantly associated with hyperactive-distractible behaviors of the children and low parenting efficacy among their mothers. Therefore well-designed care plans for these populations should be provided to decrease smartphone addiction tendency.

Exploring parenting variables associated with sweetness preferences and sweets intake of children

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Excessive sugar intake is one of the causes associated with obesity and several chronic diseases prevalent in the modern society. This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of parenting variables based on the theory of planned behavior, on the sweetness preferences and sweets intake of children. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Parents and their children (n = 103, aged 5-7 years) were enrolled to participate in a survey for this study, after providing the required informed consent. Parents were asked to fill out a self-administered questionnaire at their residence. The sweetness preference test for children was conducted at a kindergarten (or daycare center) by applying the one-on-one interview method. RESULTS: The children were divided into two clusters categorized by the K-mean cluster analysis: Cluster 1 had higher sweetness preference (0.42 M sugar, 35%; 0.61 M sugar, 65%); Cluster 2 exhibited lower sweetness preference (0.14 M sugar, 9.5%; 0.20 M sugar, 9.5%; 0.29 M sugar, 81%). Cluster 1 had a higher frequency of sweets intake (P < 0.01), and lower sweets restriction (P < 0.05) and nutrition quotient score (P < 0.05). Sweets intake was negatively correlated with the nutritional quotient (r = -0.204, P < 0.05). The behavioral intention of parents was higher in cluster 2 (P < 0.05), while affective attitude, feeding practice, and reward were higher in cluster 1 (P < 0.001, P < 0.05, and P < 0.01, respectively). Furthermore, behavioral intention of parents showed a negative correlation with affective attitude (r = -0.282, P < 0.01) and feeding practice (r = -0.380, P < 0.01), and a positive correlation with subjective norm (r = 0.203, P < 0.05) and parenting attitude (r = 0.433, P < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS: This study indicates that the sweetness preferences and sweets intake of children is related to the parent's affective attitude, feeding practice and reward. We suggest that to reduce the sugar consumption of children, guidelines for access to sweets and pertinent parenting practices are required.

장애아동 아버지의 가족탄력성 증진 프로그램 효과성 연구 (Study on Effectiveness of Family Resilience Program for Fathers of Children with disability)

  • 본 연구는 장애아동 아버지의 양육참여와 양육행동, 장애자녀에 대한 태도 및 친밀감을 향상시킬 수 있는 가족탄력성 증진 프로그램을 개발하고 적용하여 그 효과성을 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 프로그램은 가족탄력성의 개념을 기반으로 하위요인인 신념체계, 조직패턴, 의사소통과정을 포함하는 내용으로 구성하였고, 서울소재 복지관의 초등학생 장애자녀를 둔 아버지를 대상으로 주 1회 매 2시간씩, 총 7회기로 진행되었다. 연구결과, 통제집단은 결과에 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았지만 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단 아버지들은 양육참여 정도와 장애자녀에 대한 태도에서 유의미한 향상을 보였다. 따라서 가족탄력성 증진 프로그램을 통해 장애아동 아버지들이 적극적으로 양육에 참여하게 되고 장애자녀에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하게 되었음을 보여줌으로써 가족탄력성 프로그램의 효과성을 입증하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 장애아동 아버지에 대한 사회복지 실천현장에서의 개입 방안에 대한 함의를 제언하였다.

임산부의 결혼만족도, 부모됨의 태도와 태교실천에 관한 연구 (The Study of Marital Satisfaction, Parenting Attitude and Practice of Taegyo in Pregnant Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate marital satisfaction, parenting attitude and the practice of Taegyo and to examine the relationship between marital satisfaction, parenting attitude and the practice of Taegyo for pregnant women. The sample included 234 pregnant women who participated in Pregnant Education Programs in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. We analyzed the data which were collected by means of a questionnaire from June to September, 2012 and the data was analyzed with the t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and Regression analysis by SPSS 19.0. The results were summarized as follows: First, the level of marital satisfaction and practice of Taegyo was relatively high. On the other hand the level of emotional value of parenting attitude was higher than that of instrumental value. Second, the group of higher marital satisfaction revealed a higher practice of Taegyo and also in the group of higher emotional and instrumental value of parenting attitude, the practice of Taegyo was high. Third, there was a positive relationship between marital satisfaction(respect, care, parent role, and housework role), parenting attitude(emotional value, instrumental value) and the practice of Taegyo such as food Taegyo, place Taegyo, language Taegyo, emotional Taegyo and behavior Taegyo. The significant factors influencing the practice of Taegyo was connected with parent role, housework role of marital satisfaction, and instrumental value of parenting attitude.

A Study on the Purchase Status and Behavior of Cosmetics Using SNS of Men in their 20s

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the structural relationships among mothers' parenting practices, child's self-esteem, and child's well-being and to explore the mediating effects of mothers' parenting practices on child's well-being through child's self-esteem. Research design, data, and methodology: Data from the 10th and 13th waves of the Korean Child Study Panel were used for the study, and data from 1,213 mothers and child were analyzed using SPSS 28.0 and the R statistical program. Results: First, in the relationship between the mother's parenting practices, the child's self-esteem, and well-being, the mother's authoritative parenting practices were positively correlated with the child's self-esteem and well-being. Second, the mother's authoritative parenting practices in preschool directly influenced the child's self-esteem in late school, and the child's self-esteem directly influenced the child's well-being. Third, mothers' authoritative parenting practices in the preschool years had a static effect on child's Well-being through the mediation of child's Self-Esteem in the late school years. The direct mediation effect of the Child's Self-Esteem was confirmed. Conclusions: To promote child's Well-being, mothers should adopt authoritative parenting practices with affection and control and try to improve child's self-esteem. In addition, programs that focus on improving child's self-esteem can be expected to enhance school-aged child's well-being.

공감과 수용에 초점을 둔 부모놀이치료의 추후효과 (Follow-up Effects of Filial Play Therapy : Empathy and Acceptance)

  • This study included 12 mothers and their 5-year-old children. Over 5 weeks, mothers participated in 2 hours filial therapy training twice a week, and 30 minutes special play at home once a week. Each mother was videotaped playing with her child and completed three self-report instruments : Parental Acceptance Scale(Porter, 1954), Parenting Stress Index(Abidin, 1990), and Child Behavior Checklist(Oh et al., 1997). These measurements were taken three times : before, immediately after, and 8 weeks after the program. Enhanced empathic interaction and parental acceptance level through filial play therapy training was maintained 8 weeks after the training. Eight weeks after the training, child's behavior problems were significantly reduced in comparison to immediately after the training.

어머니의 가치관 및 양육태도와 아동의 행동억제간의 관계 (The relationship between mother's value and parenting attitudes and children's behavioral inhibition)

  • this study examined behavioral inhibition in relation to their mothers' value and attitudes toward children's inhibited behavior as a function of child sex. Data were collected via questionnaires from a sample of 483 7-to 8 year-olds and their mothers. Results showed that there were no significant differences in mother's value mothers' attitudes toward child behavior and child's behavioral inhibition according to child sex. However it was found that mothers' value was associated with attitudes toward child inhibition and behavioral inhibition in 7-to 8 year-olds girls. more specifically mothers who hold high traditional values were not concerned about girls' inhibited behavior and thus in turn had more inhibited girls. But the associations were not found for boys. the results indicated cultural effects on parenting attitudes as well as child inhibition.
