The purpose of this study was to improve children's positive perceptions of the future by examining the relationship between parental attachment, parental involvement in learning, and children's perceptions of the future, and by identifying the specific influence of each variable on children's perceptions of the future. Frequency analysis and descriptive statistical analysis were performed on data from the 12th year of the Korean Children's Panel (2019), and Pearson's moment correlation coefficient was calculated for correlation analysis between variables. Multiple regression analysis was performed to examine the explanatory power of parental attachment to children's perception of the future and parental participation in learning. The research results are as follows. First, the correlations among all the latent variables of parental attachment, parental participation in learning, and children's future perception showed significant correlations. Second, the explanatory power of children's perception of the future was found in the order of 'mother' trust, 'family'-based participation, 'father' trust, and 'mother' communication. These results suggested that parental trust and warm, warm participation in home-based learning were important variables in children's positive perception of the future.
This study aims to classify parents by considering important factors in the management of foodservice for children. An offline survey was conducted by enrolling 583 Korean parents whose children attended public or private kindergartens in Seoul. The important factors required for managing foodservice for children are meal service resources, menu management, and food allergy. Considering these factors, parents were grouped into 3 clusters: the allergy important group, environment important group, and high concern group. Evaluation of the demographic characteristics revealed a significant difference between clusters with respect to type of kindergarten. Parents perceived that a private kitchen is more required than a private dining room, and perceptions about the need for a private kitchen and dining room were significantly different among the clusters. Furthermore, the results reveal significant differences between clusters, when considering the need to support meal service. Therefore, the government needs to consider characteristics of the parent cluster if they plan to support the kindergarten foodservice. We believe that this study can be used as supportive data to establish a working policy.

The purpose of this study was to examine the school parent and student's perception of Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics and to suggest plan to school parent of multicultural and learning disability families. The subjects of this study were elementary and secondary teachers who teaching Practical Arts or Technology Home Economics. The instrument of this study was questionnaire including five sections: influence on students by Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics, interest in Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics to school parents, school support with learning ability improvement, school parents support with home in Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics, data form of school parents support with home in Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics. The findings of this study were as follows; Sociality development of students is influential by Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics. School parents and students believe important subjects in Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics. Teachers ask for support with learning ability improvement for practical training space and programs in Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics. School parents ask for support with learning ability improvement of programs of teaching learning method for home education on Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics.
The purpose of this study was to investigate parent's perception of a middle school foodservice in Masan city, Korea that uses environmentally friendly agricultural products (EFAP). From May 29, 2009 to July 11, 2009, questionnaires were distributed to 350 parents of middle schools located in Masan city. A total of 295 responded and 276 (response rate, 78.9%) were used for the final analysis after excluding improperly completed questionnaires. First, 47.8% of the parents responded that they had participated in the school foodservice operation (receiving food, attending foodservice-related events, working as a meal service aid, evaluating suppliers). Receiving food (53.7%) accounted for the greatest proportion in the participating area. Second, most subjects (83.0%) responded that they were aware of the use of EFAP. Additionally, 96.4% of the subject approved expanding the use of EFAP for all items. Third, their degree of interest in the school foodservice was 3.86, and satisfaction with the school foodservice was 3.94 based on a 5-point Likert scale. The overall satisfaction on the quality of EFAP used in the school foodservice was 3.68 based on a 5-point Likert scale. Fourth, awareness that the school used EFAP in the foodservice by the parents who participated in school foodservice operations was higher than that of parents who did not participate. Satisfaction (4.10) with the school foodservice by parents who participated in school foodservice operations was significantly higher than that (3.79) of parents who did not participate (p < 0.001). In conclusion, parent's participation in school foodservice operations should increase to improve the quality of the school foodservice and improve communication between parents and the school.

The purpose of this study were to make a comparison with the lifestyle and level of family resources’perception between the adolescent and their parents. Data for this study were collected from 732 cases including the middle school students and their parents(302), the high school students and their parents(284) and the university student and their parents(146). The SPSS software program and statistics such as frequencies, paired t-test, factor analysis and Chronbach’s α were employed to analyze the data for this study. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1. The score of Identity is shown higher to the groups of the parents than the groups of the adolescent. 2. The group of adolescent have a tendency to lead the fashion and life the Western style, while on the other hand the group of their parent have a tendency to save and be responsible their life. 3. The score of family resources’perception is shown higher to the groups of the parents than the groups of the adolescent.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for hospitalized children under the condition of painful procedure. Method: The data were collected from July 15th to Oct 30, 2003 from 68 hospitalized children suffer from acute disease, 68 mothers take care of children, 14 pediatric ward nurses. To evaluate the degree of pain perception of children, mothers & nurses, face pain rating scale and behavior characteristic were used. Result: The result were as follows. 1) The pain perception score of children, mothers & nurses. child perceived highest as the score of 3.60 2) The most frequent behavioral characteristic children were 'crying(47.1%)' mothers were 'soothing the child(54.4%)' and nurses were 'support not to move(52.9%)' 3) The degree of pain perception of children, mothers and nurses according to subjects' general characteristics and painful procedure, there were stastical difference according to children's age, mothers age and duration of painful procedure 4) There were significant correlation between the degree of pain perception and behavioral characteristics of children, mothers & nurses. Conclusion: Nurses should not underestimate children's pain and need to provide knowledge and information to the child and their parents regarding painful procedure.
This study compared male and female university students' perceptions of parenthood and their need for pre-parental educational program. Responses of 579 university students in 5 universities were collected using a questionnaire developed by the researchers. Data were analyzed using a T-test and Pearson's chi squared test. Results showed that (1) systematic and pre-parental education may increase opportunities for university students to prepare parent and child rearing skills. (2) Any pre-parent educational program developed should cover practical and such as communication skills, child-rearing techniques and ways of disciplining children. In this way an educational program could provide university students suitable guidance and give them a positive and proper attitude toward parenting should they become parents in the future.
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between problem behaivior of children and parent-adolescent communication family cohesion and adaptability as the variation of psychological environment of family. The subjects of this study were 494 children of sixth garders randomly selected from four elementary schools in Seoul and their parents. The result of this study showed that Empatic and supportive communication of parent-child above all father-child was suggesting to prevent children behavior problem. It is needed to consider family cohesion & adaptability according to behavior problem of character to develop suitable coping ability. Father and mother' endavor for opening communication. It was needed that to improve family cohesion & adaptability as a psychological environment of family.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the correlates of maternal perception (identification and satisfaction) of children's weight, maternal body shape satisfaction, and maternal feeding styles in Korean preschool-aged children. Methods: A cross-sectional survey design was utilized. Participants consisted of 287 pairs of preschool-aged children (3-6 years) and their mothers. Data were analyzed by ${\chi}^2$-test, Fisher's exact test, ANOVA, and the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: Among the 287 mothers, 47.7% underestimated their children's weight, while 15.7% overestimated it. 46.7% of the mothers wished their children weighed more, while 11.1% of them wished their children weighed less. The mean score of maternal body shape satisfaction was $83.75{\pm}28.77$. The mean score of parent-centered feeding styles was $2.95{\pm}0.54$, and the mean score of child-centered feeding styles was $3.33{\pm}0.42$. There were statistically significant correlations between maternal identification of children's weight and children's body mass index (BMI) (r=-.366, p<.001). In addition, there were statistically significant correlations between maternal satisfaction of children's weight and children's BMI (r=-.484, p<.001), maternal BMI (r=-.126, p=.033), and maternal body shape satisfaction (r=-.127, p=.031). Conclusion: The results of the study suggest that intervention programs for mothers to develop more accurate perception of their child's weight should be established.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between mothers' childhood experiences, satisfaction as a parent, spousal support in parenting and their children's perception of their child-rearing practices. The subjects were 321 fifth and sixth graders from two elementary schools in Seoul and their mothers. A revised version of the Mother-Father Peer Scale (MFPS; Epstein, 1983) was used to assess the mothers' child experiences. To measure parental satisfaction, the Parent Satisfaction Scale (PSS; Duke, Rose, & Halverson, 1997) was revised and used. A modified version of the Teamwork of Parenting Alliance Inventory (PAI; Abidin, 1988) was used to assess spousal support in parenting. A modified version of the Child-rearing Behaviors Questionaire (Park, 1995) was used to assess the mothers' child-rearing practices. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and a t-test. The results of this study were as follows. 1) Mothers who received a greater degree of independence encouragement and acceptance from their fathers tended to show more warmth/acceptance in their child-rearing practices than those who received a lesser degree of independence encouragement and acceptance from their fathers. Mothers who received a greater degree of independence encouragement from their own mothers tended to show more warmth/acceptance of their children but less permissiveness/nonintervention and rejection/restriction in their child-rearing practices when compared to those who received a lesser degree of independence encouragement from their own mothers. The mothers who received a greater degree of acceptance from their own mothers tended to show more warmth/acceptance of their children but less rejection/restriction in their child-rearing practices when compared to those who received a lesser degree of acceptance from their own mothers. 2) Mothers who had a greater degree of satisfaction as a parent tended to show more warmth/acceptance but less rejection/restriction in their child-rearing practices than those who had a lesser degree of satisfaction in parenting. 3) Mothers who received a greater degree of spousal support in parenting showed more warmth/acceptance in their child-rearing practices than those who received a lesser degree of spousal support.
