Background and Objectives : Clinically, as a tool for voice assessment before and after the operation or the voice treatment, acoustic analysis is widely used. However, in clinical situations, acoustic parameters vary according to how the assessment is made. Thus, with voice disease patients as subjects, we are to investigate what influence intensity increase exerts on acoustic parameters and how to reduce variation according to the way of assessing. Material and Method : At the voice clinic of the department of otorhinolaryngology in Gangnam Severance Hospital, with 30 female voice-disease patients (40.6 years old on the average) and 23 male voice-disease patients (40.1 years old on the average) as subjects, using the Dr Speech vocal-assessment program, we statistically tested the significance of the difference in each of acoustic parameters between when the "Ah" vowel is produced with a normal voice and when the "Ah" vowel is produced with a loud voice. Results : Acoustic parameters that showed a statistically significant difference according to intensity increase were Jitter, SD F0, and NNE for females, and Jitter, SD F0, HNR, SNR, and NNE for males. Voice quality estimates showed a statistically significant difference according to intensity increase in female hoarse voice, female breathy voice, and male breathy voice. Conclusion : In this research, acoustic analysis, which is generally used for voice assessment before and after the operation or the voice treatment, showed a tendency that acoustic parameters became better under the influence of intensity increase except for the cases where a voice disease was severe. Thus, to raise the reliability of voice assessment, the range of intensity needs to be set up. This should be the topic for the future research.
The document-term frequency matrix is a term extracted from documents in which the group information exists in text mining. In this study, we generated the document-term frequency matrix for document classification according to research field. We applied the traditional term weighting function term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) to the generated document-term frequency matrix. In addition, we applied term frequency-inverse gravity moment (TF-IGM). We also generated a document-keyword weighted matrix by extracting keywords to improve the document classification accuracy. Based on the keywords matrix extracted, we classify documents using a deep neural network. In order to find the optimal model in the deep neural network, the accuracy of document classification was verified by changing the number of hidden layers and hidden nodes. Consequently, the model with eight hidden layers showed the highest accuracy and all TF-IGM document classification accuracy (according to parameter changes) were higher than TF-IDF. In addition, the deep neural network was confirmed to have better accuracy than the support vector machine. Therefore, we propose a method to apply TF-IGM and a deep neural network in the document classification.

Atopic dennatitis (AD) is one of the major public health problem. It has been reported that the prevalence of AD in children and adults are 10-20% and 1-3%, respectively. Westernization of food habits, urbanization, and environmental pollution are contributing factors toward the recent rise in prevalence. Excessive dietary restriction leads to chronic malnutrition in atopic dermatitis patients. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of medical nutrition therapy (MNT) on quality of diet and blood immune parameters in atopic dermatitis patients. The 19 atopic dermatitis patients (7 men and 12 women) admitted to K University Medical Center were studied. During the 12 weeks of intervention, the subjects were given MNT by a dietitian for 30-45 minutes every other week. MNT was comprised with general dietary therapy, intake of balanced meals, emphasis on n-3 fatty acid contents in foods, and food allergies. Anthropometric and dietary assessment and blood analysis were taken at baseline and after 12 weeks of MNT. After 12 weeks of MNT, the subjects' dietary qualities, including dietary diversity score (DDS), meal balance score (MBS) and dietary variety score (DVS) were significantly increased (p < 0.05). According to significantly increased intake of EPA and DHA, dietary n-6/n-3 fatty acid ratio decreased to the recommended level for the atopic dermatitis patients (p < 0.05). These changes of dietary fatty acid consumption were reflected erythrocyte fatty acid composition. After 12 weeks of MNT, serum levels of IgE and IL-4 levels were significantly decreased, however, the levers of INF-$\{gamma}$, WBC, lymphocyte and TLC were not changed. As a conclusion, the individualized MNT improved the quality of diet in atopic dermatitis patients thereby influenced RBC fatty acid composition and IgE and IL-4 levels.

The aim of the present study was to assess the effects of ammonia on physiological responses in Korean rockfish (Sebastes schlegeli). Interestingly, no mortality were observed when the specimens ($301.1{\pm}8.0g$) were exposed to five levels of un-ionized ammonia ($NH_3$) (control, 1, 2, 4, $8mg\;L^{-1}$) for 3 hours. Furthermore, a significantly higher increase in gill $Na^+/K^+$-ATPase (NKA) pump activity with was detected due to the ammonia exposure. The activity of the fishes were found to be 4 and $8mg\;L^{-1}$$NH_3$, which was significantly high compared to normal $1mg\;L^{-1}$$NH_3$. Although ammonia exposure had no effect on plasma $Cl^-$, exposure to both 4 and $8mg\;L^{-1}$$NH_3$, however it led to increase in the plasma $Na^+$, $K^+$ and osmolality levels. Also, prolong ammonia exposure cause increase of plasma cortisol and glucose levels. The increase in glucose was accompanied by an increase in cortisol. The fish exposed to 4 and $8mg\;L^{-1}$$NH_3$ showed significantly higher hematocrit than control group than those exposed to 1 and $2mg\;L^{-1}$$NH_3$. The intensity of cell damage increased with the increase concentration and exposure to ammonia. Furthermore, hyperplasia, separation and epithelial necrosis were also observed in gill tissues. Taken together, the results showed that direction of changes to the investigated parameters can be used to determine the physiological responses of Korean rockfish to ammonia.
The oxidative stability of the ramyon prepared with rapeseed oil fortified with antioxidants or blended with palm oil was studied to explore the possibility of substituting it for Imported frying fats and oils. Natural tocopherols, butylated hydroxyanisole(BHA), tertiarybutyl hydroquinone(TBHQ), and ascorbyl palmitate with citric acid were used at a level of 0.02 percent. Blended oils were prepared by adding a palm oil to the rapeseed oil at ratios of 7:3, 5:5, and 3:7(w/w), respectively. Ramyon samples were stored at $35.0{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$. for 90 days. The values of parameters, such as peroxide value, unsaturation ratio, and dielectric constant, of the extracted oils were regularly determined. An organoleptic test for the flavor of the samples was also performed. The oxidative stability of the samples was estimated on the basis of the changes of the parameter values. The effectiveness of the antioxidants was in the order of TBHQ ${\gg}$ ascorbyl palmitate with citric acid>BHA>natural tocopherols. The oxidative stability of the ramyon prepared with the rapeseed oil containing 0.02 percent TBHQ was almost as good as that of the ramyon prepared with the palm oil. The stability of the ramyon prepared with the blended oil containing 70 percent palm oil was also as good as that of the ramyon prepared with the palm oil.
Electroglottograph(EGG) is a signal recorded from the vocal cord vibration by measuring electrical impedance across the vocal folds through the neck skin. The purpose of this study was to develop EGG system and to evaluate possibility for the application on speech analysis and laryngeal disease diagnosis. EGG system was composed of two pairs of ring electrodes, tuned amplifier, phase sensitive detector, low pass filter, and auto-gain controller. It was designed to extract electric impedance after detecting by amplitude modulation method with 2.7MHz carrier signal. Extracted signals were transmitted through line-in of PC sound card, sampled and quantized. Closed Quotient(CQ), Speed Quotient(SQ), Speed Index(SI), fundamental frequency of vocal cord vibration(F0), pitch variability of vocal fold vibration (Jitter), and peak-to-peak amplitude variability of vocal fold vibration(Shimmer) were analyzed as EGG parameters. Experimental results were as follows: the faster vocal fold vibration, the higher values in CQ parameter and the lower values in SQ and SI parameters. EGG and speech signals had the same fundamental frequency. CQ, SQ, and SI were significantly different between normal subjects and patients with laryngeal cancer. These results suggest that it is possible to implement portable EGG system to monitor the function of vocal cord and to test functional changes of the glottis.
In this study, in order to find the feasibility of thermophilic biological pre-treatment for the co-digestion of food wastewater and sewage sludge, digestion efficiency of the combined thermophilic aerobic and mesophilic anaerobic process and its effect on methane production were investigated. Also, a lab-scale co-digestion process was operated to observe parameter changes according to the increase of organic loading rates using different dilution ratios of distilled water and food wastewater (1/3 [Run I], 2/3 [Run II] in addition to using the raw food wastewater [Run III]). The results indicated that co-digestion process maintained quite stable and constant pH during entire experiments. With regard to VS removal, the higher removal was observed in the combined process and the removal efficiency was 52.24% (Run I), 66.59% (Run II) and 72.53 (Run III), respectively. In addition, the combined process showed about an 1.6-fold improved methane production rate and significantly higher methane yield than that of using single anaerobic digestion process.

Shelf-life dating of cooked and heat sterilized food was carried out with the use of principal component analysis (PCA). Changes in color, pH, acidity and sensory properties were measured and analyzed during storage at 20, 30 and $40^{\circ}C$. Acceptability of sample was decreased during storage, shelf-life of sample was determined 1.5, 3 and 3 months at 20, 30 and $40^{\circ}C$, respectively. Application of PCA to quality evaluation, principal component (PC) 1 dominated 49.6% of total variation and PC 2 expressed 28.8%. The rate of change of PC 1 to storage time was 1.3 with increasing temperature of $10^{\circ}C$, and close to shelf-life determined by accepability at 20 and $40^{\circ}C$. Therefore, PCA was applicable to evaluate the quality, predict the shelf-life and investigate the quality parameter of food during storage.
As part of studies on the high quality dunggule tea, made of Polygonatum odoratum root with different growth year were analyzed for their flavor compounds. The quality attributes related to flavors were compared between raw and roasted samples which were treated at $130^{\circ}C$ for 15 min. Free sugars in the roots were mainly composed of fructose ($3.59{\sim}4.83%,\;d.b.$), sucrose ($1.78{\sim}2.49%$), and glucose ($1.60{\sim}1.80%$). Threonine ($1,239{\sim}1,444\;mg/100g,\;d.b.$), arginine ($589{\sim}689$), histidine ($289{\sim}370$) were three major free amino acids. The root grown for three years showed the highest content in total free sugar and amino acids (p<0.05). There was negligible difference in proximate composition and Hunter's color parameter depending on the growth year of the roots. However, sensory scores on color, taste and aroma were highest in 3 years' root, which is found most suitable for the preparation of dunggule tea. The roasting of 3 years old root significantly reduced the content of fructose and sucrose (p<0.01). It caused most apparent changes in the decreasing amount of threonine and in the decreasing rate of lysine, showing the significant decrease in total free amino acid content (p<0.01).

The best part of graphene is - charge-carriers in it are mass less particles which move in near relativistic speeds. Comparing to other materials, electrons in graphene travel much faster - at speeds of $10^8cm/s$. A graphene sheet is pure enough to ensure that electrons can travel a fair distance before colliding. Electronic devices few nanometers long that would be able to transmit charge at breath taking speeds for a fraction of power compared to present day CMOS transistors. Many researches try to check a possibility to make it a perfect replacement for silicon based devices. Graphene has shown high potential to be used as interconnects in the field of high frequency electrical devices. With all those advantages of graphene, we demonstrate characteristics of electrical and optical properties of graphene such as the effect of graphene geometry on the microwave properties using the measurements of S-parameter in range of 500 MHz - 40 GHz at room temperature condition. We confirm that impedance and resistance decrease with increasing the number of graphene layer and w/L ratio. This result shows proper geometry of graphene to be used as high frequency interconnects. This study also presents the optical properties of graphene oxide (GO), which were deposited in different substrate, or influenced by oxygen plasma, were confirmed using different characterization techniques. 4-6 layers of the polycrystalline GO layers, which were confirmed by High resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and electron diffraction analysis, were shown short range order of crystallization by the substrate as well as interlayer effect with an increase in interplanar spacing, which can be attributed to the presence of oxygen functional groups on its layers. X-ray photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and Raman spectroscopy confirms the presence of the $sp^2$ and $sp^3$ hybridization due to the disordered crystal structures of the carbon atoms results from oxidation, and Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and XPS analysis shows the changes in oxygen functional groups with nature of substrate. Moreover, the photoluminescent (PL) peak emission wavelength varies with substrate and the broad energy level distribution produces excitation dependent PL emission in a broad wavelength ranging from 400 to 650 nm. The structural and optical properties of oxygen plasma treated GO films for possible optoelectronic applications were also investigated using various characterization techniques. HRTEM and electron diffraction analysis confirmed that the oxygen plasma treatment results short range order crystallization in GO films with an increase in interplanar spacing, which can be attributed to the presence of oxygen functional groups. In addition, Electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) and Raman spectroscopy confirms the presence of the $sp^2$ and $sp^3$ hybridization due to the disordered crystal structures of the carbon atoms results from oxidation and XPS analysis shows that epoxy pairs convert to more stable C=O and O-C=O groups with oxygen plasma treatment. The broad energy level distribution resulting from the broad size distribution of the $sp^2$ clusters produces excitation dependent PL emission in a broad wavelength range from 400 to 650 nm. Our results suggest that substrate influenced, or oxygen treatment GO has higher potential for future optoelectronic devices by its various optical properties and visible PL emission.
