  • In the course of robot control system building, there are problems in the position control loop of 3rd axis of robot manipulator. The problems are summerized as two: one is uncontrollability of position and the other is oscillation. And these problems are analyzed through experiment, and it is known that the cause of problems in torsional vibration of 3rd axis. So that these two problems are solved by noise immunity enhancement and lowering of PI controller gain.

Delta 고속 병렬로봇의 동역학 모델링 및 제어 (Dynamics Modeling and Control of a Delta High-speed Parallel Robot)

  • This paper presents a simplified dynamics model, dynamics simulations, and computed torque control experiments of the Delta high-speed parallel robot. Using the typical Newton-Euler method, a simplified but accurate dynamics model with practical assumptions is derived. Accuracy and fast calculations of the dynamics are essential in the computed torque control for high-speed applications. It was found that the simplified dynamics equation is in very god agreement with the ADAMS model, and the calculation time of the inverse kinematics and inverse dynamics is about 0.04 msec. From the dynamics simulations, the cycle trajectory along the y-axis requires less peak motor torque and a lower angular velocity and less power than that along the x-axis. The computed torque control scheme can reduce the position error by half as compared to a PD control scheme. Finally, the developed Delta parallel robot prototype, half the size of the ABB Flexpicker robot, can achieve a cycle time of 0.43 sec with a 1.0kg payload.

  • Industrial robot has played a central role in the production automation such as welding, assembling, and painting. There has been, however, little effort to the application of robots in machining work(grinding, cutting, milling, etc.) which is typical 3D work. The machining automation requires a high stiffness robot arm to reduce deformation and vibration. Conventional articulated robots have serially connecting links from the base to the gripper. So, they have very weak structure for he machining work. Stewart Platform is a typical parallel robotic mechanism with a very high stiffness but it has a small work space and a large installation space. This research proposes a new machining robot arm with a double parallel mechanism. It is composed of two platforms and a central axis. The central axis will connect the motions between the first and the second platforms. Therefore, the robot has a large range of work space as well as a high stiffness. This paper will introduce the machining work using the robot and design the proposed robot arm.

  • This paper proposes a sensorless speed control algorithm for parallel-connected dual Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (SPMSMs) fed by a single inverter. For stable parallel operation of synchronous motors with a single inverter, each motor has to be constantly kept in the synchronization state regardless of load torque. If the master motor with the larger load is controlled, the synchronous state will be maintained. Therefore, detection of the master motor is essential. Conventionally, the master motor is determined by comparing the rotor position error from the relation between the back-EMF for torque angle and the flux position; consequently, the position sensor is deemed essential for finding the rotor position. The parallel sensorless speed control method proposed in this paper uses no position sensor, instead it compares the flux-axis current from the connection between the back-EMF for torque angle and current in unbalanced load conditions. The results of simulation and experiment conducted verify the efficacy of the proposed method.

5점 휨하중 시험법을 사용한 구조용 판넬의 굴림전단강도 (Planar (Rolling) Shear Strength of Structural Panels Using 5-point Bending Test)

  • 본 연구는 ASTM D2718의 5점 휨하중 시험법을 사용하여 OSB(oriented strand board)와 국산합판의 굴림전단성능을 평가하기 위하여 수행되었다. 각 시험용 판넬에 대해 길이방향에 평행한 것과 수직인 시험편을 제작하여 각각 시험하였으며, 파괴양상을 관찰하였다. 시험 결과 굴림전단력은 강축방향에 평행한 경우 $1.32-1.938N/mm^2$, 강축방향에 수직인 경우 $1.46-1.99N/mm^2$ 정도로 나타났으며 방향에 따른 차이는 크게 나타나지 않았다. 국산합판은 길이방향에 평행한 경우는 캐나다산 OSB와, 수직인 경우는 칠레산 OSB와 통계적으로 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 파괴는 OSB에서는 모두 전단에 의한 파괴가 나타났으며, 합판의 경우에는 전단, 접착층의 박리, 휨과 전단에 의한 복합파괴가 관찰되었다.

  • Small marine propeller is generally machined by 5-axis machining. This paper suggests a method to create geometric model from point array data and 4-axis machining NC data for propeller. With conventional method, the setting posture should be changed, because propeller has front and back surface of wing. The change of setting posture has a bad influence on precision of propeller. So this paper pro-poses a method to machine propeller by single setup for 4-axis machining. The cutter moves to parallel direction of the XY plane. To determine the cutter orientation efficiently, the' tilting guiding line' is proposed. A proposed algorithm is written in C language and successfully applied to the 5-axis milling machine of industrial field.

중증뇌졸중환자의 발목재활로봇을 위한 힘센서 설계 (Design of Force Sensors for the Ankle Rehabilitation Robot of Severe Stroke Patients)

  • This paper describes the design and fabrication of a two-axis force/torque sensor and an one-axis force sensor with parallel plate beams(PPSs) for measuring forces and torque in an ankle rehabilitation exercise using by a lower rehabilitation robot. The two-axis force/torque sensor is composed of a Fy force sensor and Tz torque sensor and the force sensor detects x direction force. The two-axis force/torque sensor and one-axis force sensor were designed using by FEM(Finite Element Method), and manufactured using strain-gages. The characteristics experiment of the two-axis force/torque sensor and one-axis force sensor were carried out respectively. As a test results, the interference error of the two-axis force/torque sensor was less than 1.56%, the repeatability error and the non-linearity of the two-axis force/torque sensor were less than 0.03% respectively, and the repeatability error and the non-linearity of the one-axis force sensor were less than 0.03% and 0.02% respectively.

고관절 재활로봇의 2축 힘/토크센서 설계 (Design of Two-axis Force/Torque Sensor for Hip Joint Rehabilitation Robot)

  • We describe the design and fabrication of a two-axis force/torque sensor with parallel-plate beams (PPBs) and single beams for measuring force and torque in hip-joint rehabilitation exercise using a lower rehabilitation robot. The two-axis force/torque sensor is composed of an Fz force sensor and a Tz torque sensor, which detect z direction force and z direction torque, respectively. The two-axis force/torque sensor was designed using the FEM (Finite Element Method) and manufactured using strain gages. The characteristics experiment of the two-axis force/torque sensor was carried out. The test results show that the interference error of the two-axis force/torque sensor was less than 0.64% and the repeatability error and the non-linearity of the two-axis force/torque sensor were less than 0.03%. It is thought that the developed two-axis force/torque sensor could be used for a lower rehabilitation robot.

로봇의 지능형 손을 위한 3축 손가락 힘센서 개발 (Development of 3-axis finger force sensor for an intelligent robot's hand)

  • This paper describes the development of a 3-axis finger force sensor to grasp an unknown object safely in an intelligent robot's hand. In order to safely grasp an unknown object, robot's hand should measure the weight of an object and the force of grasping direction simultaneous. But, in the published papers, the grippers and hands equippd with the force sensor that could only measure the force of grasping direction, and grasped objects using their sensors. These grippers and hands can't safely grasp unknown objects, because they can't measure the weight of it. Thus, it is necessary to develop 3-axis force sensor that can measure the weight of an object and the force of grasping direction for an intelligent gripper. In this paper, 3-axis finger force sensor to grasp an unknown object safely in an intelligent robot's hand was developed. In order to fabricate a 3-axis finger force sensor, the sensing elements were modeled using parallel plate beams, and the theoretical analysis was performed to determine the size of sensing elements, then the 3-axis finger force sensor was fabricated. Also, the characteristic test of the developed 3-axis finger force sensor was performed.

  • In this paper, we proposed a PC-based CNC control system using EtherCAT-based servo drive and I/O device. The default communication of LinuxCNC is a parallel port, and data processing with high bandwidth is impossible. However, it is possible to apply various bandwidth devices through the application of EtherCAT, one of the industrial Ethernet communications with high bandwidth. Therefore, the hardware control method of LinuxCNC was applied through EtherCAT communication from the existing parallel port. Finally, through HAL configuration, I/O device operation check and 3-axis motion control proved the LinuxCNC system with EtherCAT.
