  • The electric power conversion system constructed by connecting two or more power converters in parallel is an advantageous method for making to large capacity and standardization. In this paper, the control method of cross current when three power converters are operated is examined, and it reexamined a preferable system construction method.

  • Posbist reliability of typical systems is preliminarily discussed in Cai (1991). In this paper, we focus on the posbist reliability analysis of some typical systems in depth. First, the lifetime of the system is dealt as a fuzzy variable defined on the possibility space (U, ${\phi}$, $P_{oss}$) and the universe of discourse is expanded from (0, $+{\infty}$) to ($-{\infty},\;+{\infty}$). Then, a concrete possibility distribution function of the fuzzy variable is given, i.e., a Gaussian fuzzy variable. Finally, posbist reliability of typical systems (series, parallel, series-parallel, parallel-series, cold redundant system) is deduced. The expansion makes the proofs of some theorems straightforward and allows us to easily obtain the posbist reliability of typical systems. To illustrate the method a numerical example is given.

  • The demand for high performance computer grows to solve large linear systems of equations in such engineering fields - circuit simulation for VLSI design, image processing, structural engineering, aerodynamics, etc. Many various parallel processing systems have been proposed and manufactured to satisfy the demand. The properties of linear system determine what algorithm is proper to solve the problem. Direct methods or iterative methods can be used for solving the problem. In this paper, an intelligent parallel iterative method for solving linear systems of equations with large sparse matrices is proposed and its efficiency is proved through simulation.

  • Proposed here is a parallel genetic algorithm accompanied with intermittent migration among subpopulations. It is intended to maintain diversity in the population for a long period . This method was applied to finding out the global maximum of some multimodal functions for which no other methods seem to be useful . Preferable results and their detailed analysis are also presented.

  • This paper presents two sequential advanced split and merge algorithms and a parallel image segmentation algorithm based on them. First, the two advanced methods are obtained from the combination of edge detection and classic split and merge to solve the inherent problems of the classical method. Besides, the parallel image segmentation algorithm on mesh-connected MIMD system considers three types in the merge stage to reduce the communication overhead between processors, such as intraprocessor merge, interprocessor with boundary merge, and interprocessor without boundary merge. Finally , we prove that the proposed algorithms achieve the improved performance by implementing them.

  • In this paper, we introduce the identification model of dynamic system using the neural networks, We propose two identification models. The output of the parallel identification model is a linear combination of its past values as well as those of the input. The series-parallel model is a linear combination of the past values in the input and output of the plant. To generate stable adaptive laws, we prove that the series-parallel model is found to be proferable.

  • The Oguchi theory of antiferromagnetism has been modified for antiferromagnetically interacting spin-pair systems with anisotropic exchange interaction. The parallel and perpendicular susceptibilities $({\chi}_{\parallel}\;and\;{\chi}_{\perp})$ have been expressed as functions of exchange interactions $(J_z\;and\;{\gamma}=J_x/J_z)$, anisotropic molecular field parameters $({\kappa}\;and\;{\kappa}_x)$, $g_z\;and\;g_x$. In contrast to the previous theories, the parallel susceptibilities are not the same as the perpendicular susceptibilities above Neel temperature $T_N$.

  • This paper proposes a distributed simulator for general control system in CEMTool. Systems can be described by SIMTool likes the simulink in Matlab. For distributed simulation, we can seperate any system into several parallel subsystems in SIMTool. The number of parallel subsystem can be determined by the system's property. After seperation, parallel simulator will do initialization, one-step-ahead simulation, block-distribution and ordering and so on. Finally, simulator will create independent C codes and executive files for each subsystem. The whole system is fulfilled by several PCs, and each PC executes one subsystem. There are communications among these subsystem using reflective memory or ethernet. We have made several experiments, and the 5-stand cold rolling mill control system is our main target. The result of parallel simulation has shown effective speedup in comparison with one pc simulation.

  • Due to the rapid growth of the amount of data, research on bigdata processing has been highlighted. For bigdata processing, CUBRID Shard is able to support query processing in parallel way by dividing the database into a number of CUBRID servers. However, CUBRID Shard can answer a user's query only when the query is required to gain accesses to a single CUBRID server, instead of multiple ones. To solve the problem, in this paper we propose a CUBRID based distributed parallel query processing system that can answer a user's query in parallel and distributed manner. Finally, through the performance evaluation, we show that our proposed system provides 2-3 times better performance on query processing time than the existing CUBRID Shard.

  • An equivalent electroacoustic circuit approach of estimating the sound absorption coefficient for parallel perforated plate system is proposed. The proposed approach is validated by comparing the calculated absorption coefficients of a parallel single layer perforated plate system with the values measured by the two-microphone impedance tube method for various porosity and the number of perforated plate. The sound absorbing performances of parallel and series perforated plate systems are compared and discussed from a standpoint of frequency bandwidth with sound absorption. The proposed approach is further extended to the parallel double layer perforated plate system.
