타이어 사이드판의 문자 가공을 위한 4축 가공 시스템 (A 4-axis NC Lettering System for the Side-wall of the Automobile Tire)

  • The letters of the automobile tire are usually engraved on the side-wall. The shape of the side-wall is a sculptured surface generated by the rotational sweeping of a profile curve. The letters laid on the side-wall are usually designed by a 2-dimensional CAD. It is impossible to machine the letters on the surface accurately by 3-axis NC machining, because the axis of cutter should be tilted to align with the normal vector of the surface. In this case. the degree of freedom for the machine is at least four. This paper describes an idea for tool path generation of a 4-axis machine by using the 2-dimensional CAD data of the letters and the surface of the side-wall. This study includes the following procedures; (1) measuring the profile of the side-wall surface and curve-fitting of the measured points. (2) the 'non-parallel projection' of the letters on the side-wall, and (3) an inverse kinematics of the 4-axis lettering machine. Procedures in this paper are programmed in C-language on Windows95 environment. With a PC based CNC controller and a 4-axis lettering machine. these are tested sucessfully for the practical use.

  • This paper presents the development of the I/O Interface for the real time parallel data communication between controller of a six-axis industrial robot(CRS-A460) and an external computer. The proposed I/O Interface consists of the hardware I/O interface and the software that is downloaded to the robot controller and executed by the controller operating system. The constitution of the digital I/O Port for CRS-A460 robot controller and the digital I/O board for IBM-PC are presented as well as the Process Control Program of the robot controller. The developed protocol for the parallel data communication is described. The data communication is tested, and the performance is analysed. In particular, it is shown that the real-time constraint of the robot controller process is satisfied.

  • This paper describes the development of 6-axis force/moment sensor for an intelligent robot's foot. In order to walk on uneven terrain safely, the foot should perceive the applied forces Fx, Fy, Fz and moments Mx, My, Mz to itself. The applied forces and moments should be measured from a 6-axis force/moment sensor attached to a humanoid robot's foot(ankle). They in the published paper already have some disadvantage in the size of the sensor, the rated output and so on. The rated output of each component sensor (6-axis force/moment sensor) is very important to design the 6-axis force/moment sensor for precision measurement. Therefore, each sensor should be designed to be gotten similar the rated output under each rated load. So, the sensing elements of the 6-axis force/moment sensor should get lots of design variables. Also, the size of 6- axis force/moment sensor is very important for mounting to robot's foot. In this paper, a 6-axis force/moment sensor for perceiving forces and moments in a humanoid robot's foot was developed using many PPBs (parallel plate-beams). The structure of the sensor was newly modeled, and the sensing elements (plate-beams) of the sensor were designed using FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis. Then, the 6-axis force/moment sensor was fabricated by attaching strain-gages on the sensing elements, and the characteristic test of the developed sensor was carried out. The rated outputs from FEM analysis agree well with that from the characteristic test.

항력계수에 미치는 호박돌 형상의 영향 (Effects of cobble shape on coefficient of drag force)

  • 산지하천 하상에서 흔히 발견되는 호박돌에 작용하는 항력은 하천의 거동과 반응을 예측하는 데 있어서 중요하나 이를 위한 항력계수 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구는 호박돌의 항력 실험을 통해서 호박돌 형상과 항력계수의 관계를 분석하였다. 호박돌의 장축과 단축이 흐름방향을 따를 때 항력계수에 미치는 형상계수의 영향을 분석하였다. 항력계수는 장축보다 단축에서 더 크며 호박돌의 등가직경 Reynolds 수가 증가하면 감소하였다. 항력계수와 등가직경 Reynolds 수의 관계에서 결정계수는 단축보다 장축에서 더 크다. 이는 호박돌 형상의 불규칙성에 따른 항력이 축에 따라 변화하기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 항력분포 변화는 호박돌의 교호진동을 초래하였다. 그 진폭은 $R_{ep}$가 약 12,000에서 급격히 증가하였으며 장축보다 단축에서 더 큰 것으로 나타났다.

  • Vibration modes obtained from a modal analysis can be better explained from a screw theoretical standpoint. A vibration mode can be geometrically interpreted as a pure rotation about the vibration center in a plane and as the twisting motion on a screw in a three dimensional space. This paper, presents the method to diagonalize a spatial stiffness matrix by use of a parallel axis congruence transformation. It also describes that the stiffness matrix diagonalized by a congruence transformation, can have the planes of symmetry depending on the location of the center of elasticity. For a plane of symmetry, any vibration mode can be expressed by the axis of vibration. Analytical solutions for the axis of vibration has been derived.

  • Test in the development of vehicle consist of driving test and simulation test. The last one has many advantages. It can reduce time and cost during development, can overcome the spacial and environmental limitation, and can provides repeatabilities of similar experiments and various data. In these reason, the simulation test is used more for analysis and development of new vehicle. In this research the result of kinematic analysis on multi-axis simulator is compared with the simulated result using dynamic analysis program, ADAMS, and the maximum stress and strain are analyzed for the safety of link and specifications of optimal design using finite element method.

FePt/MgO(001) 자성박막 결정화의 두께의존성 (Thickness Dependence of the Crystallization of FePt/MgO(001) Magnetic Thin Films)

  • The crystallization of FePt/MgO(001) magnetic thin films of various thicknesses has been studied using synchrotron x-ray scattering, atomic force microscope, and vibrating sample magnetometer. In film with a 499-$\AA$-thick, face-centered tetragonal, ordered FePt phase was dominantly crystallized into perpendicular (001) grains keeping the magnetically easy c-axis normal to the film plane during annealing. In film with a 816-$\AA$-thick, however, longitudinal (110) grains keeping the c-axis parallel to the film plane were grown on top of the perpendicular (001) grains. The behavior of the magnetic properties was consistent with the thickness dependence of the crystallization. We attribute the thickness dependence of the crystallization to the substrate effect, which prefers the growth of the c-axis oriented perpendicular grains near the film/substrate interfacial area.

  • ZnO thin films were grown at different plume-substrate angles by pulsed laser deposition(PLD). From the X-ray diffraction(XRD) result, all ZnO thin films were found to be well c-axis oriented and c-axis lattice constant approached the value of bulk ZnO as plume-substrate(P-S) angle decreased. The grain size of ZnO thin films measured by atomic force microscopy increased and the UV intensity of ZnO thin films investigated by photoluminescence increased as P-S angle decreased. It is found that the improvement of structural and optical properties mainly comes from the reduction of the flux of ablated species arriving on a substrate per a laser shot by tilting a substrate parallel to the plume propagation direction.

  • In this article, we consider axes of a minimal surface in $R^3$ of genus zero with a planar end, and then prove that two consecutive axes near planar end must be parallel but cannot be in a same line.
