For Romantic women writers the paratext itself is essentially a masculine literary space affiliated with established writing practices; however, this paper suggests that Charlotte Turner Smith's mode of discourse in her use of notes and their relation to the text proper are never fixed in her contemplative blank-verse long poem, Beachy Head (1807). Even though the display of learning in the paratext partly supports the woman writer's claim to authority, this paper argues that Smith's endnotes also indicate her way of challenging the double bind for women writers, summoning masculine authority on the margins of her book while simultaneously interrogating essentialist thinking and instructions about one's identity in a culture and on the printed page. The poem shows how the fringes of the book can be effectively transformed from a masculine site of authority to an increasingly feminized site of interchange as Smith writes with an awareness of patriarchal, imperial abuses of power in that area of the book. There is a persistent transgression of cultural/textual boundaries occurring in Beachy Head, which explores the very scene and languages of imperial encounter. Accordingly, if Wordsworth's theory of composition suggests a subjective and abstract poetic experience-an experience without mediation-in which its medium's purpose seems to be to disappear from the reader's consciousness, an examination of the alternative discourse of self-exposure in Smith's poem reveals the essentially fluid nature of media-consciousness in the Romantic era, which remains little acknowledged in received accounts of Romantic literary culture.

This paper builds a system dynamics model analyzing first mover effect and growth strategy of online retailer, a major segment of B2C e-commerce. The dynamic model in this paper is calibrated to the online book market and Yes24.com as major test cases. The model consists of eight key value chain sectors. Five of these(Users, Site Operations, Human Resources, Financial Accounting, and Fundraising) are internal to the company, and three others(Market, Financial Market, and Relative Performance) are external to the company. With the model, this paper suggests research propositions representing positive feedback loops and negative feedback loops that lead to corporate growth and limits to growth according to dynamic causal relationships among eight key value chain sectors, and simulate these propositions.

Objectives : The paper seeks to delve into a study of smallpox, specifically as one of the most representative contagious diseases during the Chosun era and how it was treated during that time. The lack of traditional medical texts that deal with smallpox has led this paper to dive into Duchanggyeongheombang. Methods : Everything related to edition and copy, and the author was organized based on pre-existing studies. The copy that is assumed as the original copy was considered and studied. The book was compared to and reviewed with Donguibogam, and the differences between the book and Korean translation were given attention as well. Results : Park Jin-hee is assumed to have authored Duchanggyeongheombang, and it is like that was had access to texts published by the state, one of which includes Donguibogam. He utilized the periods with smallpox outbreaks as his frame of study and put together a series of treatment for different symptoms. To this, he attached various medical charts, and added Korean translation for higher usability. In his book, he placed emphasis on spleen and stomach, but when needed, he did not shy away from using cold and coolness herbs. Conclusions : Duchanggyeongheombang was influenced partially by Donguibogam, but the book was given new life through the author Park Jin-hee's edition. Medical charts were added to increase its usability, and Korean translation was provided for wider audience. Its scope of prescription is very wide, and it provided the reasonings behind its medical judgements based on actual clinical studies instead of being tied down to traditions or taboos.

Augmented reality makes the relationship between real world and virtual world. The basic goal of an AR system is to enhance the user's perception of and interaction with the real world through supplementing the real world with 3D virtual objects that appear to coexist in the same space as the real world. ARToolkit is widely used toolkit to develop any AR application. However, to do so, a lot of researcher faced many challenges and limitations. In this paper we comprehensively review some selected challenging issues using ARToolkit to develop AR system. And then, we implement a real application for augmented text book with sounds and 3D virtual objects which we called here AR Traffic Book concerning these challenging issues by ARToolkit. In this paper our foremost approaches on the most common challenging issues such as virtual object rendering, camera calibration and tracking.

Objectives : There exists a number of books that deal with curing diseases with foods. This includes Shennongbencaojing from Han Dynasty era, Zanyin's Shiloaoxingan and Mengxi's Shilaobencao from Tang Dynasty era, Husihui's Yinshanzhengyao from Won Dynasty era, and Feiboxiong's Sikgamboncho from Qing Dynasty era. This paper aims to delve into the food treatment revealed in Sikgamboncho, which is the latest book in the preceeding list, and studied its differences when compared to other medical books that deal with food treatment methods. Methods : The format and contents of Feiboxiong's Sikgamboncho were studied. For its format, Shilaoaoxingan, Yinshanzhengyao, Shikryochanyo, and Donguibogam were used to compare their formats with that of Sikgamboncho in order to discern the unique characteristics found in the book. For its contents, the paper studied food ingredients and food treatment separately, and then studied the historical significance of Feiboxiong's Sikgamboncho. Results : Sikgamboncho categorizes 12 types of grain, 22 types of vegetables, 7 types of cucumis calyx, 27 types of fruit, 9 types of flavor, 4 types of bird, 4 types of animal, 10 types of fish with scales, 4 types of carapace, and 2 types of worm. The book explains each ingredient's harvest period, its nature, potency, and taboos. The food treatment section explains 74 types of treatments that are divided between the wind, cold, summer heat, dampness, dryness category and the qi, blood phlegm, deficiency, and excess category. Each treatment contains its potency and recipe. Conclusions : Feiboxiong underlined the importance of ingredient through placing significance even to the order of ingredients. Out of the total 74 food treatments, 25 treatments were dedicated to deal with weakness. Feiboxiong attempted to prevent human body from becoming weak, which reflects his emphasis on the importance of food and wellness.

In this paper, we describe about interactive electronic book utilizing tabletop display interface and digi-pet. Because of this system can define a lot of gestures using touch point of finger, help that user experiences electronic book effectively more than existent input device. Also, support 1 users in 1 input device in existent mode, but this system can expect various effect because support Multi-user. The digi-pet(digital pet) is physical tools that convey emotion between tabletop display platform and user. And this shows various results acting as assistance because becomes master of story of imagination and participate directly on talk and makes change of story. In this paper, we described about oriented electronic book system the future that combines tabletop display and Digi-pet. This system is expected that the usefulness is increased by leaps and bounds along with technology development forward.

The purpose of this study developing early childhood unification education program preparing for unification using a picture story book, to cultivate right understanding toward North Korean society and rational perception of unification based on the consciousness of ethnic community and democratic citizenship and also to build the consciousness and attitude that will achieve unification in a peaceful way. For developing the program, this paper, with requested survey of teachers in the field of early childhood unification education and with study of references, consists of a purpose, objective, and education contents of early childhood unification education program preparing for reunification using a picture story book. The contents of early childhood unification education program preparing for unification using a picture story book mainly consist of having an identity as a people of Korea(historical identity, cultural identity, identity as Korean in the world), understanding of North Korea(understanding of culture, language, food, and nature of North Korea), reconciliation between South and North Korea(between individuals, groups, and nations), and peaceful unification(peace, unification).

This paper is about an authoring interface for augmented/mixed reality based book, specifically authoring 3D objects properties of Digilog book. We pursue even normal users with non-professional knowledge for programming can make the Digilog book easily. An authoring interface 3D object properties includes a manipulator as an input device and 3D contents authoring parts. As an interface design metaphor, existing GUI interface, already familiar to computer users, are referenced. The manipulator generates continuous/discrete input signal are necessary for authoring interface. Contents authoring part performs selection, positioning, scaling, coloring, copy of virtual objects using the input signal of the manipulator. Also users can exploit already existing GUI interface metaphor including pointing, click, drag and drop, and copy techniques with the manipulator. Therefore we think our AR authoring system can support rapid and intuitive modification of properties of virtual objects.

In this paper, we propose layout based multimodal contents authoring tool for Digilog Book. In authoring step, users create a virtual area using mouse or pen-type device and select property of the area repetitively. After finishing authoring step, system recognizes printed page number and generate page layout including areas and property information. Page layout is represented as a scene graph and stored as XML format. Digilog Book viewer loads stored page layout and analyze properties then augment virtual contents or execute functions based on area. Users can author visual and auditory contents easily by using hybrid interface. In AR environment, system provides area templates in order to help creating area. In addition, proposed authoring tool separates page recognition module from page tracking module. So, it is possible to author many pages using only single marker. As a result of experiment, we showed proposed authoring tool has reasonable performance time in AR environment. We expect that proposed authoring tool would be applicable to many fields such as education and publication.

Digilog Book, the next generation publication material, supplies digitalized contents on an analog book by integrating digital contents into existing analog books. There are some studies related to authoring tools which are to authorize, and publish some books which provide digital contents by using VR or AR techniques. In this paper, a pen-type haptic user interface for Digilog Book authoring tool has been introduced. This haptic user interface is developed for more realistic and more effective authoring tasks. This haptic interface provides haptic effects for authoring tasks which are including translation, rotation, scaling, and menu selection. In this research, we designed a body, control circuits, vibration haptic patterns for haptic user interface, and a protocol for between haptic user interface and Digilog Book main control system. Also a simple user study has been done with a developed haptic user interface.
