  • The most important technique for an indoor robot navigation is to find out the direction and the distance from the current location to the destination through the information achieved from the sensor. For this purpose, we suggest sensor-based local homing method which compares the destination sensory data with the current location. As for the sensors, we use the CCD camera and the ultrasonic sensor, and recorded entire 360 degree panoramic data. We match the features of the image data, and the distance and the direction of the matched point will be considered as fuzzy numbers. Through a simple fuzzy arithmetic, we infer the geometric relations between the current location and the destination location.

  • Panoramic radiographs and computed tomography (CT) play a paramount role in the accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and prognostic evaluation of various complex dental pathologies. The advent of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) has revolutionized the practice of dentistry, and this technique is now considered the gold standard for imaging the oral and maxillofacial area due to its numerous advantages, including reductions in exposure time, radiation dose, and cost in comparison to other imaging modalities. This review highlights the broad use of CBCT in the dentomaxillofacial region, and also focuses on future software advancements that can further optimize CBCT imaging.

  • The visualization of information serves as a valuable tool for facilitating communication and exchange of opinions among stakeholders by conveying information in an intuitive and clear manner. As a preliminary study of visualization for construction field, this study proposed a model for generating three-dimensional floor layout using 360-degree panoramic cameras. The model integrates the layouts by calculating normal vectors of the plane which has openings, and applying translation and rotation matrices between the normal vectors. The results of this study can contribute to improving communication in construction sites by incorporating visualization, and further to the digital transformation of the construction industry.

  • This paper presents an efficient approach to build an image mosaics from image sequences. Unlike general panoramic stitching methods, which usually require some geometrical feature points or solve the iterative nonlinear equations, our algorithm can directly recover the 8-parameter planar perspective transforms. We use four quasi-feature points in order to compute the projective transform between two images. This feature is based on the graylevel distribution and defined in the overlap area between two images. Therefore the proposed algorithm can reduce the total amount of the computation. We also present an algorithm lot efficiently matching the correspondence of the extracted feature. The proposed algorithm is applied to various images to estimate its performance and. the simulation results present that our algorithm can find the correct correspondence and build an image mosaics.

  • Virtual reality technology is a new practical technology developed in the 20th century. In recent years, the related industry is rapidly developing due to the continuous development and improvement of virtual reality (VR) technology, and various image contents that are realistic through the use of virtual reality technology provide users with a better visual experience. In addition, it has excellent characteristics in terms of interaction and imagination, so a bright prospect can be expected in the field of video content production. This paper introduced the types of display of VR video, technology, and how users view VR video at the current stage. In addition, the difference in resolution between the past VR equipment and the current equipment was compared and analyzed, and the reason why the resolution affects the VR image was explored. Among the future development of VR video, we will present some development directions and provide convenience to people.

  • An omnidirectional optical system can be described as a special optical system that images in real time a panoramic image with an azimuthal angle of $360^{\circ}$ and the altitude angle corresponding to the upper and lower fields of view from the horizon line. In this paper, for easy fabrication and compact size, we designed and fabricated a catadioptric omnidirectional optical system consisting of the mirror part of a spherical mirror with a central hole (that is, obscuration), a plane mirror, the imaging lens part of 3 single spherical lenses, and a spherical doublet in the visible light spectrum. We evaluated its image performance by measuring the cut-off spatial frequency using automobile license plates, and the vertical field of view using an ISO 12233 chart. We achieved a catadioptric omnidirectional optical system with vertical field of view from $+53^{\circ}$ to $-17^{\circ}$ and an azimuthal angle of $360^{\circ}$. This optical system cleaniy imaged letters on a car's front license plate at the object distance of 3 meters, which corresponds to a cut-off spatial frequency of 135 lp/mm.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop an evidence-based clinical imaging diagnostic guideline for implant planning, taking into account efficacy, benefits, and risks. Materials and Methods: The guideline development process employed the adaptation methodology used for Korean clinical imaging guidelines(K-CIG). Core databases(Ovid-Medline, Ovid-Embase, National Guideline Clearinghouse, Guideline International Network) and domestic databases (KoreaMed, KMbase, and KoMGI) were searched for guidelines. The retrieved articles were analyzed by 2 reviewers, and articles were selected using well-established inclusion criteria. Results: The search identified 294 articles, of which 3 were selected as relevant guidelines. Based on those 3 guidelines, 3 recommendations for implant planning were derived. Conclusion: We recommend radiography or cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanning for individual patients judged to require a cross-sectional image after reading of a panoramic X-ray image and a conventional intraoral radiological image. Various steps should be taken to raise awareness of these recommendations among clinicians and the public, and K-CIG should be regularly reviewed and revised.
