초임계수를 이용한 목질바이오매스의 당화 특성 (Saccharification of lignocellulosics by Supercritical Water)

  • To characterize thermo-chemical feature of sugar conversion of woody biomass, poplar wood ($Populus\;alba{\times}glandulosa$) powder was treated with supercritical water system. Supercritical water treatment (SCWT) was performed for 60 seconds at different temperatures (subcritical zone 350; supercritical zone $300,\;400,\;425^{\circ}C$) under two pressures $230{\pm}10atm$ as well as $330{\pm}10atm$, respectively, using flow type system. After separation of solid residues from SCWT products, the monomeric sugars in aqueous part converted from poplar wood powder were quantitatively determined by high performance anionic exchange chromatography [HPAEC] equipped with PAD detector and Carbo Pac PA10 column. As the temperature treated increased, the degradation of poplar wood powder was enhanced and ca 83% of woody biomass was dissolved into the water at $425^{\circ}C$. However, the pressure didn't help the degradation of biomass components. At subcritical temperature range, xylose was first formed by degradation of xylan, which is main hemicellulose component in hardwood species, while cellulose degradation started at the transition zone between sub and supercritical conditions and was remarkably accelerated at the supercritical temperature. In the supercritical water system the maximum yield of monomeric sugars amounts to ca. 7.3% based on oven dried wood weight at $425^{\circ}C$.

자동차 전장부품을 위한 Sn-0.5Cu-(X)Al(Si) 중온 솔더의 접합특성 연구 (A study of joint properties of Sn-Cu-(X)Al(Si) middle-temperature solder for automotive electronics modules)

  • Joint properties of electric control unit (ECU) module using Sn-Cu-(X)Al(Si) lead-free solder alloy were investigated for automotive electronics module. In this study, Sn-0.5Cu-0.01Al(Si) and Sn-0.5Cu-0.03Al(Si) (wt.%) lead-free alloys were fabricated as bar type by doped various weight percentages (0.01 and 0.03 wt.%) of Al(Si) alloy to Sn-0.5Cu. After fabrications of lead-free alloys, the ball-type solder alloys with a diameter of 450 um were made by rolling and punching. The melting temperatures of 0.01Al(Si) and 0.03Al(Si) were 230.2 and $230.8^{\circ}C$, respectively. To evaluation of properties of solder joint, test printed circuit board (PCB) finished with organic solderability perseveration (OSP) on Cu pad. The ball-type solders were attached to test PCB with flux and reflowed for formation of solder joint. The maximum temperature of reflow was $260^{\circ}C$ for 50s above melting temperature. And then, we measured spreadability and shear strength of two Al(Si) solder materials compared to Sn-0.7Cu solder material used in industry. And also, microstructures in solder and intermetallic compounds (IMCs) were observed. Moreover, thickness and grain size of $Cu_6Sn_5$ IMC were measured and then compared with Sn-0.7Cu. With increasing the amounts of Al(Si), the $Cu_6Sn_5$ thickness was decreased. These results show the addition of Al(Si) could suppress IMC growth and improve the reliability of solder joint.

내열 주강 디스크의 마찰특성: 열전도도 영향 (Tribological Properties of Heat-resistant Cast Steel Discs: Effect of Thermal Conductivity)

  • The temperature-dependent tribological properties of brake discs for a train were examined in this study. The discs were produced using heat-resistant alloy steel, which showed different thermal conductivity after the heat treatments. A commercial brake friction material was used to evaluate the friction effectiveness, and the friction tests were carried out using a 1/5 scale dynamometer under various initial braking temperature conditions. The results showed that the tribological property of the disc was strongly affected by the heat treatment schedule. At low temperatures (below $250^{\circ}C$), the friction coefficient increased as a function of disc temperature, indicating that frictional heat increased the adhesion between the disc and pad. In addition, fade was observed at high temperatures (above $250^{\circ}C$); it was pronounced in the case of the disc with low thermal conductivity. The different fade resistances observed in the discs with different heat treatment schedules appear to be influenced by microstructural changes such as carbide redistribution occurring during the heat treatments, which affected the thermal conductivity.

전동킥보드 브레이크 디스크의 열전달에 관한 융합 연구 (A Convergent Study on Heat Transfer at Brake Disc of Electric Kickboard)

  • 본 연구에서는 전동킥보드 브레이크 디스크 열전달을 해석하였다. 브레이크 디스크의 패드 접촉면에 따라 다른 열이 전달된다. 접촉면에서 멀어진 부분에서는 온도가 작아지는 경향이 거의 일정하였으며 Model A가 Model B 보다는 약간 더 낮은 온도 분포를 보였다. Model A가 Model B에 비하여 그 최대 등가응력이 7% 정도 더 높다. 설계시에 타원형으로 패드와 접촉하는 Model B가 원형인 Model A 보다는 그 응력이 감소됨을 보였다. 접촉면 위쪽으로 열이 더 많이 전달되는 것으로 미루어 볼 때 설계시 브레이크 디스크의 모서리 부분을 고려하여 본다면 Model B가 Model A보다 그 강도가 더 크다고 사료된다. 본 연구 결과를 전동킥 보드의 설계에 활용한다면 더 강도가 좋은 브레이크 디스크 설계를 할 수 있을 것이라고 생각된다. 본 연구 결과를 전동킥보드 브레이크 디스크에 적용함으로서 열에 대한 브레이크의 내구성을 평가할 수 있고 그 결과가 강성 있는 브레이크의 설계와 미적인 융합이 될 수 있다고 보인다.

횡 초음파를 이용한 차세대 플렉시블 디스플레이 모듈 저온 접합 공정 연구 (Study of a Low-Temperature Bonding Process for a Next-Generation Flexible Display Module Using Transverse Ultrasound)

  • 오늘날 접합시 열에 의한 재료 손상과 접착제(ACA, NCA) 이용으로 부품간의 정렬이 문제가 되고있다. 따라서, 본 논문은 FPCB 와 HPCB 금속(Au) PAD를 직접 접합하였다. 이때 박막인 재료에 손상을 입히는 열, 부품간의 정렬에 문제가 되는 접착제(ACA, NCA)를 사용하지 않고 상온에서 접합을 하였다. 접합시 초음파 혼을 이용하여 접합을 하였으며, 초음파혼은 40kHz이다. 공정 조건은 접합압력 0.60MPa, 접합시간 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0sec이다. 또한, 산업에서 요구하는 접합강도는 필강도 테스트 결과값으로 0.60Kgf 이상이며, 본 실험에서는 접합강도가 0.80MPa 이상이 나왔다. 이로서, 열에 의한 재료 손상과, 접 착제(ACA, NCA)에 의한 정렬 문제를 해결하였다. 그리고 산업산업에서 바로 적용하고 생산할 수 있는 FPCB, HPCB 시료 제작을 하였다.

비닐하우스 내에서의 발수발유가공 부직포와 복합가공 부직포로 만든 농약 방호복의 착용성능 (Wear Performance of Pesticide Protective Clothing in Vinyl Plastic Hothouse made with Water-Oil Repellent and Dual Functional Finished Nonwoven Fabrics)

  • The objectives of this study mere 1) to investigate whether the different nonwoven fabric types influenced on the objective and subjective wear performances of the experimental pesticide protective pants, 2) to detect whether the different finishes treated to the nonwoven fabrics influenced on the objective and subjective wear performances of the experimental pants, and 3) to detect the relationships between objective wear performances and subjective wear sensation. Three types of nonwoven fabrics (T (Tyvek$\textregistered$), 5 (Sontara$\textregistered$) and K (Kimlon$\textregistered$)) were used as test specimens. By pad-dry.cure method, each of the specimen was treated with fluorocarbon compound for water-oil repellent finish (Tw, Sw, Kw). And each of specimen was treated with organic silicon quarternary ammonium salts and then treated with fluorocabon compound for dual functional finish (76, 50, Kd). Using the three water-oil repellent finished fabrics and the three dual functional finished fabrics, six experimental protective pants (Cl (Tw), C2 (Sw), C3 (Kw), C4 (76), C5 (56), C6 (Kd)) were made according to the same pattern suggested by the Rual Guidance Office. The wear trials of experimental pesticide protective pants were performed in a conditioned vinyl plastic hothouse ($30\pm1^{\circ}C$, $70\pm5%$R.H., 0.25m/sec air velocity). The measurements of skin temperature, microclimate temperature and humidity on the subjects were obtained by the themohygromenter. The subjective wear sensations were measured using previously developed thermal, humidity and overall comfort scales. The results obtained from this study were as follows: 1) There were siginificant differences among nonwoven fabric types on the objective and subjective wear performances, therefore, the skin temperature, microclimate temperature and humidity of subjects who wore the experimental pants made with Sontara were siginificantly lower than those who wore the others. And, the experimental pants made with Sontara were assessed as more comfortable than the others in terms of the subjective thermal, humidity and overall wear sensations. 2) There were no significant differences between two finish types on the objective and subjective wear Performances. 3) The microclimate humidity on the thigh was highly correlated with the overall subjective comfort sensations and the next highly correlated one was the mean skin temperature. That is, the higher the microclimate humidity and the mean skin temperature, the higher the overall subjective comfort sensation ratings which mean the overall subjective sensation was very uncomfortable.

H-말뚝을 이용한 일체식교대 교량 (Integral Bridge Using H-pile)

  • The existing bridge with deck joint has many problems during construction and maintenance. To overcome these difficulties, an integral bridge, which is defined as the practice of constructing bridges without deck joints, is proposed in this study. A test bridge with 3 spans of PC beam was selected to verify the function of the bridge and is under construction. Characteristics of integral bridge are followings: $\circled1$ Flexible H-piles under the abutment are installed to accommodate thermal movements of the superstructures of bridge. $\circled2$ PC beam of the superstructure and the abutment are integrated. $\circled3$ The existing approach and relief slabs are applied to minimize the stress transfer occurred from the bridge deck to the pavement. $\circled4$ A cyclic control joint is installed between approach and relief slabs to absorb the thermal movement. $\circled5$ It is used a dual direction bearing which is cheaper than single direction bearing and has a good workability as well. It is also installed a shear block on the top of pier coping to protect the lateral movement caused by temperature change and earthquake.

Sn계 무연 솔더에 관한 연구

  • Three different kinds of substrate used in this study : bare Cu substrate, Ni-P/Cu substrate with a Ni-P layer thickness of $5\mu\textrm{m},$ and Au/Ni-P/Cu substrate with the Ni-P and Au layers of $0.15\mu\textrm{m}$ and $5\mu\textrm{m}$ thickness respectively. The wettability of various Sn-base solders was affected by the substrate metal finish used, i.e., nickel, gold and copper. On the Au/Ni-F/Cu substrate, Sn-base solders wet better than any of the other substrate metal finishes tested. The interfacial reaction between various substrate and Sn-base solder was investigated at $70^{\circ}C,$ $100^{\circ}C,$ $120^{\circ}C,$ $150^{\circ}C,$ $170^{\circ}C$ and $200^{\circ}C$ for reaction times ranging from 0 day to 60 day. Intermetallic phases was formed along a Sn-base solder/ various substrate interface during solid-state aging. The apparent activation energy for growth of Sn-Ag/Cu, Sn-Ag-Bi/Cu, and Sn-Bi/Cu couples were 65.4, 88.6, and 127.9 Kj/mol, respectively. After isothermal aging, the fracture surface shoved various characteristics depending on aging temperature and time, and the types of BGA pad.

사파이어 웨이퍼 연마공정에서의 표면처리효과에 대한 X-선 회절분석 (X-ray diffraction analysis on sapphire wafers with surface treatments in chemical-mechanical polishing process)

  • 수평 Bridgman 방법으로 성장한 사파이어 인고트를 절단 연마한 후, 사파이어 결정기판의 표면을 우레탄 천 위에서 실리카 졸을 사용하여 폴리싱하였다. 표면의 결정성을 X-선 회절을 통하여 조사하였으며, 2중 결정회절에 의한 반치폭은 200~400 arcsec을 가지며, 결정 인고트의 절편화 또는 양면 연삭 연마에 따른 잔류응력에 의한 표면에서의 기계적인 스트레스에 의해 결정성이 손상되어진다. 화학-기계적인 폴리싱공정을 수행한 수에 표면처리로 $1,200^{\circ}C$로 4시간 열처리 및 산처리를 연속적으로 수행할 경우 결정성이 반치폭 8.3 arcsec까지 줄어들어 향상됨을 확인하였다.

광디스크 드라이브의 입자 오염 및 열축적 제어를 위한 설계 제안 (Control of Particle Contamination and Heat Build-Up for Noble Design of an Optical Disk Drive)

  • Airborne contaminant particles are intruded into optical disk drives(ODD) due to the flow caused by disk rotation and can be adhered to lens or disk surfaces, which causes decrease of laser power and increase of read/write errors. Such a phenomenon can be more serious as the space between the disk and the lens is reduced fur high-density storage devices. The purpose of this paper is to understand design parameters to reduce the particle intrusion into an ODD. Suggestions are made to prevent the particle intrusion that can decrease the stability of an ODD and also prevent the potential heat build-up problem. The sealing effect of drive and the forced injection of clean air (using HEPA filter) into the drive minimizes intrusion of the outside air and dusts in an ODD remarkably. Moreover it is proved by experiments that the installation of a heatproof pad to isolate heat generation part (PCB) from information read/write sections and the forced injection of dust-free air reduce the gas temperature inside the drive as well as the amount of particles intruded.
