Development of Automatic Packing System of One Station for Fasteners(II) : Packing System Manufacture and Performance Test (원 스테이션 파스너 자동포장기 개발(II) : 제작 및 성능검증)

  • In general, the purpose of packaging fasteners is a series of management activities to maintain the condition at the time of production until they get delivered to the end user. An automatic packing system for fasteners is consisted of bucket conveyor, slide feeder, vision inspection system, box-magazine conveyor system and automatic packing machine. Also, the automatic packing machine is consisted of six modules including charging device, clamping/opening device, sealing/cutting device, feeding/air-shower device, supplying/adjusting device and device frame, etc. In this paper, we proposed an automatic packing mechanism of the one station concept for packing work of fastener objects where the continuous batch work is performed in a finite space. The proposed one-station packing mechanism has been optimized through mechanical, dynamical, structural and fluid analyses. And it had been manufactured as the prototype of automatic packing machine. The field test for validation of performance was performed directly at the production line of bolt and screw. In the field test, this packing machine showed an efficiency of about 4.5 times the manual operation. It also showed 30% reduction in the consumption of packing materials compared to the manual operation. This automatic packing machine for fastener objects will be commercialized soon.

  • 가전업의 CKD(Complete Knock Down)업무는 해외의 바이어나 현지공장에 가전제품을 구성하는 부품/반제품들을 개별 포장하여 수출하는 물류업무이다. 이러한 CKD 업무는 가격경쟁이 치열한 부분으로 경쟁력 강화를 위해 물류비의 절감이 요구되고 있다. 특히 CKD 업무의 경쟁력 강화를 위해서는 포장품질과 적재율 향상을 위한 포장/적재의 최적화가 이루어져야 하며, 이를 지원하는 Packing Optimization System 의 구축이 절실히 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 가전업 CKD의 업무특징과 업무환경의 변화에 대해 기술하였으며, 환경변화에 대한 대응방법으로 가전업 CKD 업무를 위한 Packing Optimization System 의 주요 기능과 업무 프로세스를 제시하였다. 그리고, 시뮬레이션 방법을 이용한 Packing Optimization system의 구현 사례를 예시하였다.

  • With Rapid Prototyping system, the efficient packing in a fixed work volume reduces build time when multiple parts are built in a process. In this paper, an efficient and rapid packing algorithm is developed for SLS system that has cylindrical workspace. A genetic algorithm is implemented to place as many part as possible in a vat. For fast computation, a collision detection algorithm "k-DOPs Tree" is implemented.

  • Packing house is the regional center in which packing, sorting, storage, and selling of harvested fruits are taken care of all together. It is located at the producing centers, and commercializes their apples. Apple grading policies of chief producing centers should concentrate on enhancing functions and roles of its local packing house. Consequently new packing house policies for enacting individual grading standards at national and local levels should be developed. This study is to develop Korea packing house on the basis of field survey in New York State. Increasing the utilization of packing house is the main key to the success of apple grading project. Therefore, effective arrangement and utilization of sorting facilities should be evaluated and new system which enables apple farms, local cooperatives, and corporations to joint-utilize packing house must to be established.

Simultaneous Removal of Carbon and Ammonia Nitrogen from Recirculation Water in High Density Seawater Aquaculture Farm (고밀도 해산어 양식장 순환수로부터 유기물 및 암모니아질소 동시 제거)

  • Treatability tests were conducted using EMC process to study the feasibility of applying this process as recycling-water treatment system in high density seawater aquaculture farm. To study the effect of organic and ammonia nitrogen loading on system performance, hydraulic retention time of reactor was reduced gradually from 12hr to 10min. The conclusions are can be summarized as follows. When the system HRT was reduced from 12hr to 10 min gradually, there was little noticeable change(reduction) in ammonia nitrogen removal efficiencies until 2hr of HRT, however, removal efficiencies were decreased dramatically when the system was operated under the HRT of less than 2hr. In case of organics(COD), there was no dramatic deterioration in removal efficiencies depending on HRT reduction. More than 90% of removal efficiencies were maintained successfully when the system was operated at the HRT of 10 min. In case of system performance depending on media packing ratio in reactor, there was little difference in each reactor performance depending on media packing ratio in reactor when the reactors were operated under the HRT of longer than 1hr, however, differences in reactor performances were considerably evident when the reactors were operated under the HRT of shorter than 1hr. That is, the more reactor was packed, the better reactor performed. When comparing reactor performance among 25%, 50%, 75% packed reactor, it can be judged that media packing ratio more than 50% plays no significant role in increasing reactor performance. For this reason, packing the media less than 50% is more reasonable way in view of economic. Such a tendency well agreed with the variation of ammonia-nitrogen removal efficiencies according to the media packing ratio in reactors at each HRT. Difference in effluent ammonia-nitrogen concentration between 50% media packing reactor and 75% media packing reactor was negligible. When comparing with the results of 25% packing reactor, difference was not so great.

  • Software program to predict the packing density of multi-sized and multi-component particulate system was developed. For this purpose, the experiment to measure the packing density of AP (ammonium perchlorate) and Al (aluminum) particles with different sizes and their mixtures was carried out. The packing densities obtained from various experiments were compared with the predicted data from the developed software program. In the case of the packing density of the binary system, which is comprised of two different size particles and/or two different components, the relative errors were ranged 0.25~13.13%, and in the same venue the relative errors of the ternary system were 0.25~13.13%. Agreement between experimental data and the predicted results is reasonably accurate. In order to achieve the targeted packing density, the software program calculated the contour of the component particles and this will contribute the formulation of optimal packing systems.

  • The modern logistics has tried not only to convert the conventional packing system into unit load system using pallet but also to enhance the fitness between packing facilities and transport modes. This is based on the goal to reduce total logistics cost by improving logistics efficiency. Since the packing unit can affect both loading rate and loading facilities, basic form of packing unit is very important to unit load system. The object of this study is to develop a new method for evaluating the effectiveness of standardized packing module. The new method is based on measure of effectiveness (MOE) which are identified by expert survey. This study has originality in that the collecting method for effectiveness of standardized packing module has not been developed up to now.

  • To purpose of this study is to design and manufacturing of packing gland using CAD/CAM system. The computer system used in this study was constructed with CPU 80386, RAM memory 4M, VGA graphic card. We was composed with CAD/CAM system, with interface PC and NC milling machine. By using develop program, we designed packing gland and it's manufactured. The basic structure of automatic production system for packing gland was established.

The Characteristics of Solid Mixing in a Vibrating Type Feeder and Pressure Fluctuation of Packing Materials for a Fluidized Bed Combustor (유동층 연소로에서 진동형 공급기의 고체혼합 및 충전물에 대한 압력요동 특성)

  • This study attempts to analyse the solid mixing in the feeder and the packing effect for pressure fluctuations in the fluidized bed. To study the mixing characteristics of solid in vibrating feeder for the stable operations of fluidized combustion, the system consisted of two groups of particles such that fine particles were located on the top of the coarse particles before vibratory mixing had started. The effects of packing materials on the pressure fluctuations in a fluidized bed were analysed by using a statistical method to interpret the behavior of fluidized bed. The experiments were carried out in a fluidized bed of 6.7cm-ID, and the experimental variables were particle sizes, of 115 to 1,015$\mu\textrm{m}$ in diameter and the multi-sized particles haying Rosin-Rammler and Gaussian distributions. The settled bed heights of particles to diameter ratios (L/D) were ranged from 0.5 to 2.0. And fluidizing of particles was carried out by air. The packing materials used were screen packing, and the properties of the pressure fluctuations in the fluidized bed were measured by a differential pressure transducer. The properties of the pressure fluctuations calculated were the mean, the standard deviation, and the major frequency of the power spectral density functions. From the characteristics of fluidizing, it was found that the standard deviation of pressure fluctuations could be effectively used to explain the fluidized phenomena, and the packing materials affected severely the properties of the pressure fluctuations. As a result, from the interpretation by spectral analysis, the effects of measuring radius of pressure fluctuations on standard deviation were constant in the case of the fluidized bed with and without packing materials. However, the effects of measuring the height of pressure fluctuations on standard deviations were linear increasing for the fluidized bed with packing materials, but were constant for the fluidized bed without packing materials at 4.5cm above the gas distributor. The major frequency of pressure fluctuations was found to be nearly independent of fluidized system. Also, the major frequency of pressure fluctuations decreased with increasing packing size, and it had maximum value at 10% of the packing amount.

  • Recently, many companies knock themselves out to reduce logistics costs. However, they have reached the limit on cost reducing by improving the manufacturing process. In addition, Customers are growing more and more particular about the quality. Also the firms, which provide foods & beverages manufacturer with vacant receptacles and bottles, make zealous efforts to save costs. They have tried to seek for the resolution by own investment and improving system, but they haven't found certainly substitutions. In this study, we analyze problems of the vacant receptacles manufacturers and present introduction of pool system by standardization of Packing Resource. This PPS(Packing resource Pool System) will enable to reduce logistics cost that is challenge for the receptacles & bottles manufacturers, be helpful reducing environmental disruption which are the pollution of alien substances, wasted paper sheets because the system cleans retrieved Packing resources and reuses them.
