아파트 입면형 PV적용방식의 발전성능효과해석 연구 (A simulation analysis of PV application method effect on electric power performance in an apartment wall facade)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of building integrated PV application method on power generation. PV modules were integrated to a hypothetical apartment building facade in Seoul, Korea. Three different design options of PV panel mounted on exterior wall were developed for the analysis of cooling effects through ventilation. Numerical simulations using TRNSYS coupled with COMIS were executed to evaluate the design options. Their facade configurations are such as vertically installed PV panels with or without air gap between PV rear surface and exterior wall surface, and the tilted PV panels attached to the exterior wall at an angle of to the horizontal. Parametric results show that there is little difference regardless of the air 9ap width between PV rear surface and exterior wall surface. Special strategies which could effectively cool a PV panel to increase the electric power are required if we prefer to a vertical facade configuration in a building integrated PV installation. Consequently, it is expected that there is no reason for architect to install vertically PV panels with air gap unless active strategies are considered.

  • In this paper, we study The Effects of PV Cell's Electrical Characteristics for PV Module Application. Photovoltaic module consists of serially connected solar cell which has low open circuit voltage and high short circuit current characteristics. The whole current flow of PV module is restricted by lowest current of one solar cell. For the experiment, we make PV module composing the solar cells that have short circuit current difference of 0%, 1%, 3% and Random. The PV module exposed about 35days, its the maximum power drop ratio was 4.282% minimum and 6.657% maximum. And PV module of low current characteristics has electrical stress from other modules. The solar cell temperature of PV module was higher compared to PV cell. To prevent early degradation, it is need to have attention to PV cell selection.

  • This study aims to present the application of pv system for apartment buildings. Regarding to the domestic housing politics to improve residing environment and effective use of country land, apartment buildings have been constructed since early of 1790's. Now apartment is taking over 50% out of entire housing in Korea. PV System of apartment buildings has been developed periodically and recently gable roof or canopy is popular which pv installation is more favorable. For balcony part with double skin facade sassy window, it has a preferable condition to install on the wall depending on the window direction. In case of superhigh floor apartment buildings where facade is mostly double skin facade of curtain wall system, pv module can replace the traditional curtain wall and will reduce architectural materials and obtain various out look design thereof. So, the purpose of this research is a basic study for clean energy source and present to applicability of pv systems for apartment buildings in preliminary design step.

BIPV의 아파트 건물 적용 가능성에 대한 연구 (A study on the application of BIPV to the Apartment Building)

  • Regarding to the Domestic housing politics to improve residing environment and effective use of country land, apartment buildings have been constructed since early of 1970s. Now apartment is taking over 50% out of entire housing in Korea. In the view point of PV application to the apartment, PV has amny advantages because of the wideness of out-walls and high floors building in APT. Therefore, if APT could use the electricity produced by BIPV, we can solve more easily environment and energy problems caused by housing. The research conclusion by analysing conditions and application method to introduce BIPV application to APT in near future is as below. -The out look of APT has been developed periodically and recently gable roof or canopy is popular which PV installation is more favorable. -For Balcony part with double skin facade sassy window, It has a preferable condition to install on the wall depending on the window direction. -In case of shorter distance between buildings due to high ratio of outside measurement, it is more desirable to install PV on the roof than on the wall of Apartment by considering low solar altitude. -Also depending on the direction of APT building, it is more effective and productive in electricity in the broad surface of side wall of APT. -In case of superhigh floor APT where facade system is mostly double skin facade of curtain wall system, PV module can replace the traditional curtain wall and will reduce architectural materials and obtain various out look design thereof.

  • Data-Acquisition systems are widely used in Photovoltaic(PV) system application in order to analyze and optimize the performance of PV systems. In this paper, the development of a computer-based data-acquisition system and its application are described. The proposed Computer-based data-acquisition System consists of a set of sensors for measuring both environmental and electrical parameters. The collected data are first conditioned and then interfaced to PC using a data-acquisition card. The Labview program was used to further process, display on the monitor at real time and store on the hard disk. We designed and installed two stand-alone PV systems to supply different loads, which in this case a Low Pressure Sodium(LPS) 55 [W] lamp and a electrodless 55 [W] lamp. When the proposed data acquisition system is applied on the designed PV systems, Optimized system operation methods are investigated to confirm a stable load availability and extend battery life time.

  • Nowaday, The Sustainable Development about global environment is the most important subject. In urban environment, a variety of the nature energy utilization such as the solar energy are the most efficient solution to solve this issue. One of these efficient, solutions, a photovoltaic system using sunlight has been introduced to the building with an advantage such as cost-effective, safe for using and good for environment friendly in light with energy utilization. Recently, many of the apartment housings are built in domestic country. The apartment buildings have been constructed since early of 1970's. now apartment is taking over 50% out of entire housing in korea. The apartment housing applying to a photovoltaic system has been extensively studied in the foreign country but our county runs short. So, It was necessary to technical development of PV application which is suitable in Korean house culture. The objective of this study is to develop the building integrated PV application method for apartment building.

  • In this paper an integrated model of PV-AF (Photovoltaic-Active Filter) and PV-SPE (Photovoltaic Solid Polymer Electrolyte) system using PSCAD/EMTDC were explained in detail. The main concept of PV-AF system starts from the "harmonics". In order to deliver power to utility, PV system essentially needs a converter system. Here PV-AF system adds the function of active filter to the converter system installed in PV system, which was introduced already in several papers. PV-SPE system has been studied as a replacement of existing hydrogen production technology that emits large amount of carbon dioxide into atmosphere. Until now, these two systems, PV-AF and PV-SPE, have been considered separately. However, in this paper, characteristics and advantages of combined system are discussed in detail.

  • PV(Photovoltaic) system is environmentally friendly power system using solar energy in renewable energy. PV system compared to other renewable energy power generation systems is relatively easy to install, so the dissemination is increasing worldwide. Especially, BIPV(Building Integrated Photovoltaic) is a system that PV modules are installed on the building and use renewable energy. But this system is difficult to apply due to the shadow of adjacent buildings and limited installation. In this study, payback period is calculated by Retscreen 2010, that is an economic assessment software of renewable energy, on applied to the bridge of PV system. As results, this study aims at actively considering the application.

  • The stand alone PV system's stability and cost is influenced by a design method, as its application products are various. In order to systematize the the stand alone PV system's design method based on experience, this research settled the capacity computation method of PV module and battery and developed a simulator. And Its characteristic is confirmed by applying to PV street lamp design.

태양광발전시스템의 건물 적용에 대한 인식 조사 연구 (A Survey of the Recognition of Photovoltaic System for Building Application)

  • This study aims to investigate and analyze the overall recognition of the photovoltaic system for the application of BIPV(Building Integrated Photovoltaic) in Korea. For this purpose, a survey was carried on through questionnaires answered by 6 groups of experts such as construction engineers, registered architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, university or college professors, and others who are ranked high in their companies or universities or colleges and who mostly seem to be eager to participate in the development of the PV system and to make a business of the system. The results of the survey are as follows: 1. About 95% of those experts who answered the questionnaire have known about renewable energy, and 93% of them are interested in solar energy as alternative energy 2. Host experts have a lot of information on the solar energy system, but have scanty information on the PV system. 3. The experts in the educational and research field have researched for the reasonable period of the participation in the development of the PV system and the period of making a business of the system. They judge that companies in the mechanical and electrical field will participate in the development of the PV system and will make a business of the system in 5 years. 4. The experts have thought that the PV system is designed not for economy but for the environment of the earth and that PV system technology in Korea is much lower than that in the advanced countries. 5. The experts hesitate to participate in the development of the PV system and to make a business of the system because they have little confidence in the economy of the PV system now and because they have thought that they will bear a great financial burden of construction cost 6. The experts judge that it is most desirable to apply the PV system to the rooftops of buildings. And they are greatly interested in the BIPV.
