반도체 소자기반 펄스 전원용 게이트 구동 및 시험회로 설계 (Design of gate driver and test circuits for solid-state pulsed power modulator)

  • This paper describes a gate driver that operates numerous semiconductor switch in the solide-state pulsed power modulator. the proposed gate driver is designed to receive both the isolated drive-power and the on/off pulse signals through the transformer. Moreover, the IGBT-switch can be quickly turned off by adding protection circuit. Therefore it protects the IGBT-switch from the arc condition that frequently occurs in high-voltage pulse application. To comprehend operating characteristic of each IGBT-switch in pulse output condition, the device consisting of a high efficiency soft-switching capacitor charger and two series stacking IGBT-switch is developed. Finally, the relability of the proposed gate driver and the device for its test are proved through PSpice simulation and experiments.

  • This paper describes characteristic analysis of high frequency inverter using zero voltage switching(ZVS) which is one of the methods to reduce switching loss. This study is generally described by introducing normalized control variables. Moreover, many characteristics of analysis results offer importanat data for circuit design. In addition, the result of its characteristic analysis is compared with that from PSpice's simulation.

  • This paper presents a new approach in the design of multiple power output electronic ballasts for compact fluorescent lamps which power output range of 11W, 15W, 20W by using equivalent resistance and RLC equivalent circuit concept and frequency control. A multiple power output electronic ballast which adopts half-bridge inverter topology is set up to compare the results of PSpice simulation with experimental ones. Starting characteristics of lamp voltage, lamp current and light output are better than the existing electronic ballasts, and therefore is verified the validity of the proposed method.

  • A procedure for the optimal design of high quality rectifiers is introduced in this paper. The procedure is capable of producing different optimal designs for the same rectifier based on the objective performance required from that rectifier. A FORTRAN-based computer system designed to solve large-scale optimization problems was used in this work to obtain the optimal designs. The optimization program uses Wolfe algorithm in conjunction with a quasi-Newton algorithm as well as a projected augmented Lagrangian algorithm to solve the highly nonlinear optimization problem. The paper also introduces a detailed analysis and an application of the procedure on a boost-type zero-current switch (ZCS) single-switch three-phase rectifier introduced recently in the literature. The obtained results are compared with popular simulation packages (i. e. PSPICE and SIMCAD) to support the validity of the proposed concept.

  • The circuit simulation analysis and diagnosis methods are used to instruments in detail when they give apparently abnormal readings. In this paper, a new simulator through an analysis of the important circuits modeling under severe accident conditions has been designed, the realization for a body work instead of the two sorts of the Labview & Pspice as an one order command in the Labview program. The program can be shown the output graph form the circuit modeling as an order commend. The procedure for the simulator design was divided into two design steps, of which the first step was the diagnosis methods, the second step was the circuit simulator for the signal processing tool. It has three main functions which are a signal processing tool, an accident management tool, and an additional guide from the initial screen.

  • All the power generating station require dc auxiliary power systems to operate those dc components that must be available if a loss of ac power occur. Some examples of such components are auxiliary motors, circuit breakers, relays and solenoids. The dc source may be one common battery for both power and control or two separate batteries; one for power and another for control. Typically, a dc auxiliary power system is designed as an ungrounded system, instead of grounded system, so that a low-resistance ground fault on one of its two polarities will not affect the operation of the system, thus increasing system reliability and continuity of service. A ground detector should provide a high polarity-to-ground resistance so that a single ground fault occurring on the system will not affect the operation of that system. Sensitive relays have been known to energize momentarily while the cable and capacitive charge to ground shifts[1]. A power station had experienced this kind of incident and performed root cause analysis based on PC based simulation program known as PSpice. This simulation showed adapted relays on the system energize momentarily and design criteria on this relay should be corrected.

  • The current-mode circuit technique to design a bi-directional current transceiver for remote control systems and telemetering systems is presented in this paper. The proposed transceiver can transmit and receive the industrial standard current signal 4-20mA at the same time using two wires connection. The realization method is based on a second generation current conveyor (CCII) and a current mirror, which can be implemented using a commercially available device. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed scheme, the transceiver was simulated by the use of the PSPICE analog simulation program. The simulation results verifying the circuit performance are agreed with the expected values. The crosstalk of the proposed transceiver of about .63dB is observed.

Correlation of Peak Time Shift in Blood Pressure Waveform and PPG Based on Compliance Change Analysis in RLC Windkessel Model

  • We explored how changes in blood vessel compliance affected the systolic rise time (SRT) of the maximum blood pressure (BP) peak wave and the diastolic fall time (DFT) of the minimal BP peak wave, compared to photoplethysmograpic (PPG) parameters, using a two-compartment, second-order, arterial Windkessel model. We employed earlier two-compartment Windkessel models and the components thereof to construct equivalent blood vessel circuits, and reproduced BP waveforms using PSpice technology. The SRT and DFT values were obtained via circuit simulation, considering variations in compliance (the dominant influence on blood vessel parameters attributable to BP changes). And then performed regression analysis to identify how compliance affected the SRT and DFT. We compared the SRTs and DFTs of BP waves to the PPG values by reference to BP changes in each subject. We confirmed that the time-shift propensities of BP waves and the PPG data were highly consistent. However, the time shifts differed significantly among subjects. These simulation and experimental results allowed us to construct an initial trend curve of individual BP peak time (measured via wrist PPG evaluations at three arm positions) that facilitated accurate individual BP estimations.

대전류 펄스 성형이 가능한 150MW급 펄스파워 시스템의 설계 및 동작특성 (Design and Operational Characteristics of 150MW Pulse Power System for High Current Pulse Forming Network)

  • 본 논문은 트리거 시간을 조절하여 펄스 성형이 가능한 150 MW 펄스 파워 시스템의 설계와 동작특성을 알아보았다. 이 시스템은 2개의 커패시터 뱅크 모듈로 구성되어 있고, 각 커패시터 뱅크 모듈은 병렬로 연결되어 있다. 그리고 커패시터 뱅크 모듈은 메인스위치, 커패시터, 에너지 덤프회로, 크로바 회로, 펄스 성형 인덕터로 구성되어 있다. 또한 이 시스템의 모듈 선택과 트리거 시간은 트리거 제어부에서 조정된다. Pspice 시뮬레이션은 실험회로의 결과를 예측하고, 시스템의 구성품의 파라미터를 결정하기 위한 것으로 사용하였다. 실험 결과, 시뮬레이션은 실험결과와 잘 일치하였다. 출력 전류의 펄스폭은 커패시터 뱅크 모듈에서의 순간적 점화 시간 제어로 300~650 us의 펄스폭이 형성되었다. 그리고 최대 전류값은 2개의 커패시터 뱅크 모듈이 동시에 트리거 되었을 때 약 40 kA 정도이다. 이 150 MW 펄스 파워 시스템은 파암 전원, Rail Gun, Coil Gun, 나노분말 제조, HPM 등과 같은 대전류 펄스 파워 시스템에 적용할 수 있다.

  • 반도체 소자의 축소로 인한 처리속도의 향상이 더욱 어려워지고 있다. 따라서 반도체 산업의 새로운 도약을 위해서 실리콘을 이용한 광전소자의 출현(Silicon photonics)이 더욱 절실해지고 있다. 제조의 간단성, 반복성, 안정성, 고속성, 일반실리콘 반도체 공정과의 병존성 등의 특성으로 인해 애벌런치 항복에 의한 발광 소자는 실리콘 발광소자의 구현에 유력한 후보 중의 하나이다. 애벌런치 발광현상에 대해 전기적, 광학적 측정을 하고, 간단한 모델링과 시뮬레이션을 통하여 발광부위의 형태, $n^{+}-p$ 접합의 깊이, 불순물의 농도, 에피층의 높이 등의 설계요소가 발광특성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션의 결과와 실제의 계측 결과를 비교하여, 차이점을 야기하는 이유, 애벌런치 항복의 발광현상을 설명하였고, 개선방안을 제시하였다.
