SVC 적용에 의한 전압 안정도 측면에서의 융통전력 향상 방안에 대한 연구 (A Study on Enhancing the Total Transfer Capability from a Voltage Stability Point of View Using SVC)

  • The SVC(Static Var Compensator) resulted from the FACTS technology can generate or absorb reactive power rapidly so as to increase the transient and voltage stability. In this paper, the SVC is applied to the power system in order to improve the total transfer capability from a viewpoint of static voltage stability and the effects of application of the SVC to the power system are analyzed. The IPLAN, which is a high level language used with PSS/E program, is employed for determining the total transfer capability.

  • This paper describes a power flow method for the unified power flow controller(UPFC) considering equipment sizes and constraints. The operation of UPFC subject to the practical constraints encounted in an actual high power installation. So the Power flow method for FACTS must be considered its constraints for power system analysis. The proposed UPFC power flow method was implemented by PSS/E and IPLAN.

  • This paper presents a design of self_tuning fuzzy logic controller using Genetic Algorithms for power system stabilization. FPSS(Fuzzy Logic Power System Stabilized is applied to the KERI(Korea Electric Research Int.) power system simulator so that its efficiency can be investigated in real time control. Genetic Algorithms are used to determine fuzzy membership functions. Experiment results show the better performances with FPSS in comparison to no PSS.

  • Using UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controlled), it is possible to control three parameters(voltage, impedance, and phase angle). The UPFC can generate or absorb reactive power rapidly so as to enhance the transient and voltage stability and also influence the power flow. In this paper, the effects of application of the UPFC to the power system are analyzed from a viewpoint of improving the total transfer capability by enhancing voltage stability. The IPLAN, which is a high level language used with PSS/E program, is employed for evaluating the total transfer capability from a f-V curve.

  • 본 논문은 2003년 한전 실계통(154kV 강진 S/S)에 적용예정인 80MVA UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controller)시스템의 동적특성을 EMTDC/PSCAD를 이용하여 분석한 결과이다. UPFC는 FACTS 기기중 전압, 임피던스, 위상각등 전력전송 제어를 위한 송전선로의 모든 파라미터를 동시에 독립적으로 제어 할 수 있는 FACTS기기[1]로서, 미국 Inez S/S, Marcy S/S에 이어 강진 S/S에 80MVA 용량의 UPFC가 실계통 적용될 예정이다. 본 논문은 과도현상 해석 프로그램인 PSCAD/EMTDC를 이용하여 80MVA UPFC 제어기와 적용 대상 계통인 강진 S/S 인근 계통을 모델링하고 상정사고에 대한 UPFC 제어효과 분석에 대하여 기술하였다. 적용된 EMTDC UPFC모델은 실제 80MVA UPFC 기기에 채용된 전력회로, 제어기, 보호시스템과 동일하게 모델링하였으며 적용 대상계통은 PSS/E 해석결과와 동일하도록 강진 S/S인근 계통을 축약 등가화한 계통모델을 사용하였다.

  • The STATCOM(Static Compensator) resulted from the FACTS technology can generate or absorb reactive power rapidly so as to increase the transient stability and voltage stability. In this paper, effects of application of the STATCOM to the power system are analyzed from a viewpoint of improving voltage stability. The voltage stability is analyzed by use of repeated power flow method. The IPLAN, which is a high level language used with PSS/E program, is employed for evaluating the voltage stability.

  • Countermeasure for instability due to sudden changes like electric short circuit, line switching, generation/load dropping etc. in power systems have been sought in terms of intentional or controlled network changes such as series/shunt compensation and generation/load rejection etc. This paper presents the comparison of stability improving effects by series and shunt compensation for the first swing step out phenomena of a large capacity generating station.

  • This paper presented to design a robust turbo-generator control system using {{{{ { H}_{$\infty$ } }}}} control synthesis for improving small-signal stability. Application study of{{{{ { H}_{$\infty$ } }}}} control synthesis is more appropriate in this system since a turbo-generator system is usually operated under circumstance of unmeasurable modelling uncertainty and external disturbance. The{{{{ { H}_{$\infty$ } }}}} control theory was briefly reviewed for good understanding and the reasonable approach. The design results are simulated for a case study and to check the system performance in comparison with currently operating Lead/Lag filtered PSS performance.

  • This paper presents a control approach for designing a self tuning fuzzy controller for SVC system, A SVC constructed by a Fixed Capacitor and a Thyristor Controlled Reactor is designed and implemented to improve the damping of a synchronous generator, as well as controlling the system voltage, The proposed parameter self tuning algorithm of fuzzy controller is based on the steepest decent method using two direction vectors which make error between inference values of fuzzy controller and output values of the specially selected PSS reduce steepestly, The related simulation results show that the proposed fuzzy controller is more powerful than the conventional ones.
