Polysomnographic Assessment of Nocturnal Enuresis in Adults: A Case Study of Parasomnia Overlap Syndrome With Obstructive Sleep Apnea

  • Enuresis nocturia is more prevalent in children than in adults. Using polysomnography (PSG), we investigated the causes of adult enuresis nocturia in a 20-year-old female patient with nighttime bedwetting. In spite of normal urological examinations, her detailed medical history disclosed frequent sleep paralysis and urination during dreams. During PSG, two electromyograms were attached to her anus to assess the tone of her bladder's sphincter while she slept. During REM sleep, the EMG tone of the mandible decreased, but the anal and bladder sphincter tones did not. The polysomnogram revealed moderate obstructive sleep apnea. Consequently, she was diagnosed with adult parasomnia (nocturnal enuresis) overlap syndrome with OSA. This study demonstrates the value of PSG with simultaneous anal tone EMG for diagnosing NREM parasomnia and nocturnal enuresis.

단결정 실리콘 태양전지 도핑 확산 공정에서 주입되는 $O_2$ 가스와 PSG 유무에 따른 특성 변화 (The Study on the Characteristic of Mono Crystalline Silicon Solar Cell with Change of $O_2$ Injection during Drive-in Process and PSG Removal)

  • The doping procedure in crystalline silicon solar cell fabrication usually contains oxygen injection during drive-in process and removal of phosphorous silicate glass(PSG). In this paper, we studied the effect of oxygen injection and PSG on conversion efficiency of solar cell. The mono crystalline silicon wafers with $156{\times}156mm^2$, $200{\mu}m$, $0.5-3.0{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ and p-type were used. After etching $7{\mu}m$ of the surface to form the pyramidal structure, the P(phosphorous) was injected into silicon wafer using diffusion furnace to make the emitter layer. After then, the silicon nitride was deposited by the PECVD with 80 nm thickness and 2.1 refractive index. The silver and aluminium electrodes for front and back sheet, respectively, were formed by screen-printing method, followed by firing in 400-425-450-550-$880^{\circ}C$ five-zone temperature conditions to make the ohmic contact. Solar cells with four different types were fabricated with/without oxygen injection and PSG removal. Solar cell that injected oxygen during the drive-in process and removed PSG after doping process showed the 17.9 % conversion efficiency which is best in this study. This solar cells showed $35.5mA/cm^2$ of the current density, 632 mV of the open circuit voltage and 79.5 % of the fill factor.

  • This paper investigates the residual stress of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and 7wt% phosphosilicate glass (PSG), which are commonly used as a sacrificial layer or etch mask in the fabrication of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). In order to measure residual stress, $2{\mu}m$ thick TEOS and PSG stress measurement structures are fabricated. Polysilicon is used as the sacrificial layer. First the residual stress of an as-deposited 7wt% PSG flim and TEOS film are measured to be-0.3115% and -0.435%, respectively, which are quite large. These films are annealed from $500^{\circ}C$ to $800^{\circ}C$. Annealing has the effects of reducing residual stress. In the case of the 7wt% PSG film, the residual stress becomes +0.00715% after annealing at $625^{\circ}C$ for 150 minutes. In the case of TEOS film, the residual stress reduces to -0.2134% after same condition. Incidentally, this condition is the same condition for depositing a $2{\mu}m$ thick polysilicon at $625^{\circ}C$ at our low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) furnace.

Patient-specific Guides Using 3-dimensional Reconstruction Provide Accuracy and Reproducibility in Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty

  • Background: We aimed to evaluate whether the use of our novel patient-specific guide (PSG) with 3-dimensional reconstruction in reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) would allow accurate and reliable implantation of the glenoid and humeral components. Methods: 20 fresh-frozen cadaveric shoulders were used. The PSG group (n=10) and conventional group (n=10) was evaluated the accuracy and reproducibility of implant positioning between before and after surgery on the computed tomography image. Results: The superoinferior and anteroposterior offset in the glenoid component were $0.42{\pm}0.07$, $0.50{\pm}0.08$ in the conventional group and $0.45{\pm}0.03$, $0.46{\pm}0.02$ in the PSG group. The inclination and version angles were $-1.93^{\circ}{\pm}4.31^{\circ}$, $2.27^{\circ}{\pm}5.91^{\circ}$ and $0.46^{\circ}{\pm}0.02^{\circ}$, $3.38^{\circ}{\pm}2.79^{\circ}$. The standard deviation showed a smaller difference in the PSG group. The anteroposterior and lateromedial humeral canal center offset in the humeral component were $0.45{\pm}0.12$, $0.48{\pm}0.15$ in the conventional group and $0.46{\pm}0.59$ (p=0.794), $0.46{\pm}0.06$ (p=0.702) in the PSG group. The PSG showed significantly better humeral stem alignment. Conclusions: The use of PSGs with 3-dimensional reconstruction reduces variabilities in glenoid and humerus component positions and prevents extreme positioning errors in RTSA.

영지버섯 다당체의 마우스 대식세포 면역증강 효과 (Studies on the Immunomodulating Effects of Polysaccharide Extracted from Ganoderma lucidum on Macrophage)

  • 본 연구는 전보의 영지버섯으로부터 분리 배양한 균 사체를 알카리추출하여 얻은 다당체의 일반성분과 당분석 및 항암작용에 관한 연구에 이어, 이들과 ATCC의 마우스 유래 탐식 세포주 TIB 71 및 BALB/c 마우스의 복강내 대식세포를 이용하여 영지버섯 다당체가 면역계 전체의 기능을 조정하는 대식세포의 면역기능에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다 1. 대식세포의 환성에 영향을 미치는 영지 버섯 다당체의 효과를 알아보기 위하여 세포의 유사분 열능을 측정한 결과, 다당체의 처리 농도가 0.5mg 실험군에서부터 유의한 증가를 나타내었다(p<0.001). 2. 영지버섯 다당체가 대식 세포 활성에 미치는 효과를 알아보기 위해 대식세포의 표면에 존재하는 IL-2 수용체를 anti-mouse IL-2-FITC 단크론항체를 이용하여 측정한 결과는 PSG 0.05mg 실험군을 제외한 실험군 모두에서 대조군 37.6% 보다 현저한 발현증가(p<0.001)를 보였으며 PSG 0.1mg 실험군까지는 수용체가 증가 하나 그 이상 처리군 사이에서는 상호간 유의한 차이는 없었다. 3. 영지버섯 다당체는 대식 세포에서 유래하는 세포간물질 즉 IL-1, IL-6 및 TNF의 생성에 유의성 있는 관여는 하지 않는 것으로 생각되나 부분적으로 영지버섯 다당체와 BCG및 IFN-${\gamma}$를 모두 함께 병용 투여함으로써 각각 영지버섯 다당체와 BCG또는 영지버섯 다당체와 IFN-r을 투여하는 경우에 비하여 IL-1의 분비증가를 보였으며 TNF의 분비 역시 현저한 증가를 보여 영지버섯 다당체가 초기 감염시 숙주의 1차 방어기능에 관여함을 알 수 있었다.

PSG 희생층 식각시 Al층을 보호하기 위한 새로운 HF/$NH_4F$/Glycerine 혼합 식각액 (A New HF/$NH_4F$/Glycerine Aqueous Solution for Protection of Al Layers During Sacrificial Etching of PSG Films)

  • 희생층을 제거하는 기술은 표면 마이크로머시닝 공정의 핵심기술중 하나이다. 그러나 희생층을 제거하는데 널리 쓰이는 BHF 용액을 포함한 HF 수용액은 희생층 제거시 금속층으로 쓰이는 알루미늄도 같이 식각하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 기존의 문헌에서 $NH_4F$:HF:glycerine=4:1:2의 비를 갖는 혼합 용액이 알루미늄과 PSG 간의 식각 선택비가 최적조건으로 제시되었지만 이 희생층 식각액 또한 상당한 알루미능 식각률을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 HF, $NH_4F$, glycerine의 농도를 광범위하게 변화시켜 희생층 제거에 필요한 최적 혼합비를 개발하였으며 그 결과 $NH_4F$:HF:glycerine=2:1:4의 혼합비에서 약 7,700정도의 PSG와 Al의 식각 선택비를 가져 기존의 최적 식각 선택비보다 차수가 약 6배정도 향상된 희생층 식각액을 얻을 수 있었다. 이 조건에서 PSG의 식각률은 희생층 제거시 충분히 빠른 값인 약 $2.1\;{\mu}m/min$을 나타내었다. 이러한 개발된 희생층 식각액은 표면 마이크로머시닝 공정에서 알루미늄 금속 공정의 추가를 용이하게 한다.

  • In this study, we confirmed that the crystallinity and the mechanical properties of polycrystalline Silicon(poly-Si) deposited on the poly-oxide are better than those of poly-Si on the conventional sacrificial layers that is CVD oxide layer or PSG. But the etch rate of poly-oxide is poor than that of the CVD oxide layer or PSG. Therefore, to make the best use of small stress and fast etch rate, we fabricated the double oxide layer; 10%-thick poly-oxide on 90%-thick CVD oxide or PSG. To estimate structure deformation by stress, we fabricated the test structures; cantilever. bridge and ring/beam structure and estimated by SEM. As the results, all structure is expressed the deformed structure by residual stress(tensile stress) and the deformation of the structure layer on the double oxide layer is small compared with that of the structure layer on the CVD oxide layer or PSG. And, the etch rate of the double oxide layer is enhanced compared with that of the poly-oxide.

  • PECVD 방법으로 만들어진 도핑한 박막에서 실리콘으로의 인이나 붕소의 확산 특성이 연구되었다. CVD PSC 박막도 역시 만들어면 PECVD PSG에 있는 인의 확산특성과 나란히 비교되었다. 인의 부산은 N2와 O2 분위기 및 1000℃, 1,050℃, 1,100℃의 온도에서 수행되었다. 붕소의 확산 변수들은 B2H2유량 및 박막형성 온도를 달리하여 만들어진 박막에 관하여 고찰되었다. 실리콘으로의 주입물 확산 계수와 확산 Profile이 측정된 혹산 깊이 및 불순물 표면 농도를 써서 Barry의 모델을 적용하여 계산되었다.

Dynamic behavior of smart material embedded wind turbine blade under actuated condition

  • Vibrations of a wind turbine blade have a negative impact on its performance and result in failure of the blade, therefore an approach to effectively control vibration in turbine blades are sought by wind industry. The small domestic horizontal axis wind turbine blades induce flap wise (out-of-plane) vibration, due to varying wind speeds. These flap wise vibrations are transferred to the structure, which even causes catastrophic failure of the system. Shape memory alloys which possess physical property of variable stiffness across different phases are embedded into the composite blades for active vibration control. Previously Shape memory alloys have been used as actuators to change their angles and orientations in fighter jet blades but not used for active vibration control for wind turbine blades. In this work a GFRP blade embedded with Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) and tested for its vibrational and material damping characteristics, under martensitic and austenite conditions. The embedment portrays 47% reduction in displacement of blade, with respect to the conventional blade. An analytical model for the actuated smart blade is also proposed, which validates the harmonic response of the smart blade.
