$Pt/CeO_2$ 촉매와 Tight Contact 한 상태의 Model Soot 산화에 NO가 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (Effect of NO on Catalytic Soot Oxidation in Tight Contact with $Pt/CeO_2$ Using a Flow Reactor System)

  • Active regeneration in CDPF requires $O_2$ which regenerates soot at high temperature. However, small amount of NO can interrupt $O_2$ regeneration in CDPF. To verify this phenomena, soot oxidation experiments using a flow reactor with a $Pr/CeO_2$ catalyst are carried out to simulate Catalyzed Diesel Particulate Filter (CDPF) phenomena. Catalytic soot oxidation with and without small amount of NO is conducted under tight contact condition. As the heating rate rises, the temperature gap of maximum reaction rate is increased between with and without 50ppm NO. To accelerate the $NO_2$ de-coupling effect, CTO process is performed to eliminate interfacial contact for that time. As CTO process is extended, temperature which indicates peak reaction rate increases. From this result, it is found that small amount of NO can affect tight contact soot oxidation by removal of interfacial contact between soot and catalyst.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Korean Herbal Medicine (KHM) on a Renal Cell Carcinoma with multiple liver metastases patient. Methods: One renal cell carcinoma with multiple liver metastases patient was treated by KHM in conjunction with targeted anticancer agent (Afinitor). The effect of KHM was measured by scanning with Computed Tomography (CT), Blood Test, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group scale. Results: Multiple hepatic tumors were reduced after the treatment during 5 months (Partial Remission, PR). As treatment was performed, complications induced by targeted anticancer agent (Afinitor) were alleviated. Conclusions: This case provides us a possibility that Korean Herbal Medicine offers potential benefits for renal cell carcinoma with multiple liver metastases patient.

최대밀도점 부근의 물 속에 잠겨있는 수직 등온 강선에 의한 자연대류 (Free Convection due to Vertical Isothermal Wires Immersed in Water near its Density Extremum)

  • A numerical analysis is carried out to study the two-dimensional steady state natural convection from vertical wires immersed in cold pure water. The surface of the wire is $0^{\circ}C$ unifrom temperature. Results of the analysis are presented for free stream temperature from $0^{\circ}C$ to $25^{\circ}C$ and the aspect ratio N from $5.26{\times}10^{-3}$ to $1.0{\times}10^{-3}$. The effects of the density extremum and aspect ratio on the flow pattern and the heat transfer characteristics are discussed As the aspect ratio N becomes larger, in the range of $1.0^{\circ}C{\leq}T_{\infty}{\leq}4.4^{\circ}C$ and $6{^{\circ}C}{\leq}T_{\infty}{\leq}17^{\circ}C$, the effect of Pr number on the heat transfer is shown to be more significant than the aspect ratio. Investigating into the effect of the density extremum on the heat transfer from wires, the new heat transfer correlations are suggested with the relation of average Nu mumber vs. modified Ra number. Here, the coefficient values C of correlations are presented as the function of density extremum parameter $R^*$. The effects of the density extremum parameter are also discussed.

급속응고한 AZ91 합금의 미세조직 및 기계적 특성에 미치는 Misch metal 첨가의 영향 (The Effect of Misch Metal Addition on the Microstructure and Mechanical Property of Rapidly Solidified AZ91 Alloy)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of misch metal addition on the microstructure and mechanical property of rapidly solidified AZ91 alloy by melt spinning process. As the contents of misch metal(rare earth element:Ce,La, Nd, Pr)was increased, the microstructure of RS ribbons and extrudates became finer than those of AZ91, and RE related phases($Al_{11}RE_3$, $Al_2RE$) were formed. At room temperature, the rapidly solidified AZ91+1 wt%Mm alloy showed the highest tensile strength, 430 MPa due to precipitation strengthening of${\beta}(Mg_{17}Al_{12})$ phase and Al11RE3 phase. At the elevated temperature, the mechanical property of AZ01+3 wt%Mm alloy was higher than those of other Mg alloys. The reasons were that $Al_{11}La_3$ phase was thermally stable and suppressed the grain growth. In contrast with $Al_{11}La_3$ phase, ${\beta}$ phase was thermally unstable and could not suppress the grain growth at the elevated temperature. Therefore, Al11RE3 phase contributed to improve the thermal stability of RS AZ91 Alloy.

  • The effect of inclination on the steady, two-dimensional, laminar natural convection in rectangular enclosures with localized heating from below has been investigated numerically. The enclosure was uniformly heated with a partial heat source at the center of the bottom wall and cooled from the upper wall while the other walls were insulated. The governing equations were solved numerically by using the ADI finite difference method with the SOR method. The computations were carrid out with air, Pr =0.733, in the Grashof number range, $1\times10^4\~3\times10^4$, for the inclination of the enclosures was varied from $0^{\circ}\;to\;90^{\circ}$. The effects of Grashof number and aspect ratio on the inclination for the transition of the flow pattern in enclosures were determined. From the results, it was found that the transition angles of the flow in the enclosures were greater in localized heating than in uniform heating from below, and that the inclination was to strongly effect on the heat transfer and the flow pattern within the enclosure.

  • 디지털 영상콘텐츠 분야에서의 원소스 멀티유스(One-Source Multi-Use) 전략은 하나의 소재(onesource)로 다양한 상품(multi-use)을 개발, 배급할 경우 시장에서의 시너지효과가 크다는 판단에 의해 서로 다른 장르에 적용하여 파급효과를 노리는 마케팅관점에서 중시된 이론으로 알려져 있다. 최근 문화산업재의 온라인화 및 디지털 콘텐츠화가 급진전되고 각 장르간 경계가 모호해지고 매체간 이동이 용이해짐에 따라 이 전략은 창구효과(Window Effect)가 큰 문화산업의 특성에 맞추어 기획 단계부터 영화 게임 애니메이션 캐릭터 등을 총 망라하는 문화 콘텐츠를 개발뿐만 아니라 플랫폼 재활용측면에서 소프트웨어엔지니어링 분야까지 확장되고 있는 추세이다. 특히 하나의 인기 소재만 있으면 추가적 비용부담을 최소화하면서 다른 상품으로 전환해 높은 부가가치를 얻을 수 있다는 점에서 각광받고 있으며, 관련 상품과 매체를 체계적으로 관리할 수 있어 마케팅 및 홍보 플랫폼 제작 등에서 제작비용 절감효과를 누릴 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 세계적으로 영상콘텐츠산업 비중이 높은 한 미 일 3국의 제작방식의 비교를 통하여 각국이 선호하는 장르 및 제작방식을 고찰하고자 한다.

Combined Effect of CO2 andTemperature on Wheat Powdery Mildew Development

  • The effect of simulated climate changes by applying different temperatures and $CO_2$ levels was investigated in the Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici/wheat pathosystem. Healthy and inoculated plants were exposed in single phytotrons to six $CO_2$+temperature combinations: (1) 450 ppm $CO_2/18-22^{\circ}C$ (ambient $CO_2$ and low temperature), (2) 850 ppm $CO_2/18-22^{\circ}C$ (elevated $CO_2$ and low temperature), (3) 450 ppm $CO_2/22-26^{\circ}C$ (ambient $CO_2$ and medium temperature), (4) 850 ppm $CO_2/22-26^{\circ}C$ (elevated $CO_2$ and medium temperature), (5) 450 ppm $CO_2/26-30^{\circ}C$ (ambient $CO_2$ and high temperature), and (6) 850 ppm $CO_2/26-30^{\circ}C$ (elevated $CO_2$ and high temperature). Powdery mildew disease index, fungal DNA quantity, plant death incidence, plant expression of pathogenesis-related (PR) genes, plant growth parameters, carbohydrate and chlorophyll content were evaluated. Both $CO_2$ and temperature, and their interaction significantly influenced powdery mildew development. The most advantageous conditions for the progress of powdery mildew on wheat were low temperature and ambient $CO_2$. High temperatures inhibited pathogen growth independent of $CO_2$ conditions, and no typical powdery mildew symptoms were observed. Elevated $CO_2$ did not stimulate powdery mildew development, but was detrimental for plant vitality. Similar abundance of three PR transcripts was found, and the level of their expression was different between six phytotron conditions. Real time PCR quantification of Bgt was in line with the disease index results, but this technique succeeded to detect the pathogen also in asymptomatic plants. Overall, future global warming scenarios may limit the development of powdery mildew on wheat in Mediterranean area, unless the pathogen will adapt to higher temperatures.

드럼건조에 의한 쌀가루의 특성 (Physico-Chemical Properties of Modified Rice Flour by Physical Modification)

  • 드럼건조에 의한 쌀가루의 특성을 알아보기 위해 멥쌀, 찹쌀, 및 멥쌀쌀가루를 드럼건조하여 멥쌀전분 및 감자초산전분과 비교, 검토하였다. 드럼건조시 L값이 감소하였으며, 수분흡수지수는 호화쌀가루가 가장 높았고(P<0.05) 수분용해지수는 호화찹쌀이 가장 높았다(P<0.05). 호화된 시료는 $80{\sim}90^{\circ}C$ 부근에서 광투과도의 급격한 증가현상을 보였다. 유동특성 측정결과 호화찹쌀이 겉보기점도가 가장 높았으며 감자초산전분을 제외한 쌀 시료들은 $90^{\circ}C$에서 점도의 안정성을 보였다. 상온에서 pH의 감소에 따라 점도가 감소하였으며 pH 2 이하에서는 급격히 감소하였다. 그러나 멥쌀전분과 호화멥쌀은 pH 변화에 의해 점도 차이는 크지 않았다. 고온에서의 pH의 변화에 따른 점도변화는 상온보다 민감하였다. 호화특성(DSC)에서는 호화된 시료는 첫 번째 peak를 나타내지 않았으며 노화도는 호화찹쌀이 가장 작었다. 냉동 해동안정성은 감자초산전분이 가장 높았다.

희토류 금속이온 (Ln(III))과 Acetamide 사이의 상호작용에 대한 연구 (Studies on the Coordination of Acetamide to Rare Earth Metal Ion (Ln(II))

  • 아세트아미드(AA)의 CO기와 희토류 금속이온(Ln(II))을 포함하는 몇 가지 lanthanide shift reagent(LSR) 사이의 상호작용을 이해하기 위하여 AA의 $2{\nu}_{C=0}$ + amide III 조합띠를 $15^{\circ}$ ${\sim} 45^{\circ}C$에서 조사하였다. 묽은 $CCl_4$ 용액속에서 하나의 AA가 사용된 LSR에 배위되어 1 : 1 AA-LSR 복합체를 이루며, Ln(Ⅲ)이온에 대한 AA의 배위 위치는 카르보닐의 산소임을 알았다. 온도 및 농도에 따른 이 조합띠의 변화로부터 Ln(III)${\cdot}$O=C 결합에 대한 여러가지 열역학적 함수들을 구했다. Eu$(dpm)_3$, Yb$(dpm)_3$ 및 Pr$(dpm)_3$에 대한 AA의 결합의 세기를 나타내는 ${\Delta}H^{\circ}$는 각각 -39.1, -28.4 및 -25.5kJ/mol이다. 이들 값을 비교해보면 AA 분자가 배위될 때 중심금속이온의 ionic potential 효과보다는 이미 배위되어 있는 커다란 dpm 분자에 의한 입체장애효과가 더 큼을 알 수 있다.

Midazolam을 구강 점막 하로 병용 투여한 진정법의 안정성과 Houpt Scale을 이용한 진정효과에 대한 연구 (Safety and Efficacy of Submucosal Midazolam When Combined with Oral Chloral Hydrate, Hydroxyzine and Nitrous Oxide Sedation by using Houpt's Scale)

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to compare the clinical safety and effect with and without additional submucosal midazolam to oral chloral hydrate and hydroxyzine when used for pediatric conscious sedation in a clinical dental environment. Methods: Thirty one cases of pediatric conscious sedations were performed in this study. Selection criteria included good health (ASA I), under 6 years old, 20 kg of body weight, uncooperative behavior and the need for sedation to receive dental treatment including anesthesia and restorative or surgical procedure for at least two teeth. In each visit, patients were randomly assigned into one of two groups; CH group: chloral hydrate (60 mg/kg), hydroxyzine (1 mg/kg), CH-M group: chloral hydrate (60 mg/kg). hydroxyzine (1 mg/kg) and submucoal midazolam (0.1 mg/kg). 50% nitrous oxide-oxygen was maintained during the sedation period Sedations were monitored using a pulse oximeter for estimating pulse rate (PR) and percutaneous oxygen saturation ($SpO_2$). Behavior response rated using Houpt's scale and need of restraint was assessed every 2 minutes through 30 minutes of operative procedure reviewing the videotape recording. Evaluation of overall behavior success was performed using modified overall behavior rate of Houpt's scale. Data was analyzed using t-test. Results: PR and $SpO_2$ for both groups remained within the normal values. The mean scores for sleep and movement of CH-M group were higher than those of CH group (P < 0.05). There were no significant difference in mean score for crying between two groups. The mean scores of overall behavior of CH-M group was higher than those of CH group (P < 0.01). Reinstraint of CH-M group was less required than that of CH group (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Oral chloral hydrate (60 mg/kg) and hydroxyzine (1 mg/kg) combined with submucosal injection of midazolam was safer and showed more improved sedation effect than oral chloral hydrate (60 mg/kg) and hydroxyzine (1 mg/kg) without midazolam for sedation of pediatric dental patients.
