Robot controller with 32-bit DSP chip (32 비트 DSP를 사용한 로보트 제어기의 개발)

  • A new 6-axis robot controller with a high-speed 32-bit floating-point DSP TMS32OC30 has been developed in Samsung Electronics. The controller composed of Intel 80386 microprocessor for the main controller, and TKS32OC30 DSP chip for joint position controller. The characteristics of the controller are high sampling rate of 200us and fast reponsibility. The main controller supports MS-DOS, kinematics, trajectory planning, and sensor fusion functions which are vision, PLC, and MAP. The one high speed DSP chip is used for controlling 6 axes of a robot in 200us simultaneously. The control law applied is PID controller including a velocity feedforvard in joint position controller. The performance tests, such as command following, CP, were conducted for the controller integrated with a 6 axes robot developed in Samsung Electronics. The results showed a good performance. This controller can also perform the system control with other controllers, the communication with high priority controllers, and visual information processing.

Development of NC controller using personal computer (PC를 이용한 NC제어장치의 개발)

  • We developed a model of NC controller with IBM-PC as a host cpu and integlligent NC servo controller for 2 axes that can be expaned to 4 axes. Basic conceptions, including hardware structure design, servo controller design, communication protocol, and interpolation hardware design was already publicated on '87 KIEE conference. Following this, we focussed on the emulation of tyhe controller with X-Y table as complete NC machine experimenting some drawings made by NC code program that can be edited and executed in automatic on single step mode. In addition we designed the M.S.T functions with PLC and tested for M-function timing. Finally, we designed NC interface to fit with M-function output and we contructed total system of NC controller with IBM PC host with the result of successful development of new NC model.

  • 최근 수년간에 걸쳐 이루어진 센서기술의 발달과 컴퓨터를 이용한 데이타 처리능력의 혁신적인 발전은 대형의 복잡한 시스템을 실시간으로 운용하는데 있어서 막대한 양의 정보를 적절히 처리할 수 있는 기술을 요구한다. 예를 들어, 제철 또는 화학공장 공정제어에 있어서 여러 단계의 복잡한 공정의 상태에 관련된 정보는 다양한 센서들에 의하여 감지되어 제어컴퓨터에 전달된다. 또한 제어컴퓨터에서 생성되는 데이타는 자동화장비들의 각 구동장치로 분배된다. 이와 더불어 전체공정의 운용 및 관리와 제품의 품질 검사 및 시험에 관련된 데이타들도 적절히 전송되어야 한다. 또한 공장의 생산자동화 시스템에서도 수많은 로봇, PLC, CNC,AGV,켠베이어, 자동창고 등 자동화장비관련장비들의 시간적,공간적인 작업상태와 작업환경에 대한 무수한 정보들은 다양한 센서들에 의하여 감지되어 제어컴퓨터로 전달되어야 한다. 이러한 막대한 양의 데이타들을 적시에 수집하여 가공한 후 적시, 적소에 분배해 줄 수 있는 데이타 전송기술의 확보는 미래의 첨단생산시스템으로 인식되는 CIM(Computer Integrated Manufacturing)및 분산제어시스템(Distributed Control System)의 구축을 위한 선결과제라 할 수 있다. 이러한 문제들은 발전소, 최신예 항공기와 인공위성 등과 같이 고도의 제어기능과 매우 높은 신뢰도를 요구하는 시스템들에서도 마찬가지로 제기된다.

  • The basic technology for a production system represented by design, machining, assembly, and inspection, is machining technology such as CNC machine tools. etc. Direct Numerical Control, that effeciently manages NC programs is developing into Distributed Numerical Control that increases the utilization of the machining cell. It has the ability of monitoring and control, in real time, for CNC and periperial equipment. In this study, we develop a Distributed Numerical Control system that has real time and multitasking operation capability for the machining cell with various CNC's. With the consideration of economy, generalization and extension, the system is interfaced with CNC machine tools and periperial device using RS-485 network and RS-232C communication methods.

  • OPC is the preferred communication standard for sharing process control data at all levels of the enterprise and becomes the global standard, sends/receives the data with PLC programs of inspection system via network, and manages various data using OPC server. In this paper, we introduce the developed OPC client system for FPD inspection system with OPC server. To control inspection system through OPC server, we have developed libraries which consist of stage driver, switch driver, microscope driver, image processing, alignment, and task management modules. Also we have developed the test program to verify all functions precisely. We describe the mechanism of inspection system, OPC connection method, and programs.

  • This paper presents monitoring system based on IEC61400-25 for 750kW-class DFIG wind power generation system. It is consists of wind turbine PLC, Local and Remote I/O Server, human machine interface, and Web-server. Proposed System has been demonstrated in Daegi-ri, Kangwon-do, which aims to test IEC61400-25 communication capability of monitoring system and evaluate the performance of 750kW-class WTS.

  • As the demand of the high-speed transmission between fast moving mobile objects is increasing, more ideas are coming out to improve the channel distortion for such cases. WOFDM(Wavelet-based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is the most brilliant one among them, which combines the advantages of wavelet transform technique and OFDM technique, and it has been implemented into the PLC (Power Line communication) system. In this paper, we are trying to describe a comparative study on COFDM (Fourier-base OFDM) and WOFDM in the conventional T-DMB system. From the simulation results, we can see that the performances of COFDM and WOFDM are nearly same under the AWGN channel. However, WOFDM outperforms COFDM under the time-invariant Rayleigh fading channel.

  • Chirp spread spectrum method using both time and frequency component is fit to time varying channel such as powerline channel. The used chirp symbol based on the CEBus standard is the unit symbol which sweeps from 100kHz to 380kHz over a 25㎲. To evaluate the performance of between Chirp-SS and DSSS, we measured the bit error rate under Gaussian channel. Simulation result is shown that Chirp-SS has a about 3[dB] gain of SNR than DSSS. To verify the performance of implemented modem, it is made up the powerline channel environment. After adding several noises to it, we examined the receiving status of modem. The implemented modem is able to receive the signal over the powerline channel with having several noises and capacitive loads.

  • Recently, many enterprises are installing AMSs(Automated Manufacturing Systems) for their competitive advantages. As the level of automation increases, proper design and validation of control logic is a imperative task for the successful operation of AMSs. However, current discrete event simulation methods mainly focus on the performance evaluation. As a result, they lack the modeling capabilities for the detail logic of automated manufacturing system controller. Proposed in this paper is a method of validation of the controller logic for automated material handling system using an object-oriented design and simulation. Using this method, FA engineers can validate the controller logic easily in earlier stage of system design, so they can reduce the time for correcting the logic errors and enhance the productivity of control program development Generated simulation model can also be used as a communication tool among FA engineers who have different experiences and disciplines.

  • In industrial control system used by Programmable Logic Controller(PLC), Ladder Diagram(LD) is the most widely utilized and plays an important role in industrial control system. But recently, the study about Sequential Function Chart(SFC) is performed actively. When we program by SFC, generally, we design one routine from start to end. This method is difficult to design, and we often make mistakes. In this paper, we propose the method that we compose each sub-system after we design each sub-system, and we analysis the difference of the method used this paper from conventional method.
