  • A roll forming process is developed for an automotive part of high strength steel. Forming rolls are designed through the plane strain elastic-plastic finite element analysis to estimate the springback. It is assumed that the process can be approximated as a series of multi-step bending processes. Then the 3D elastic-plastic finite element analysis with the solid element is carried out for the designed roll forming process. The prototype roll forming machine and the forming rolls are made and the experiments are carried out. The results of the analysis and the experiments are compared.

  • In order to collect basic information of response behavior of red seabream (Pagrus major) during pilling, works for constructing wind power station in Byeonsan Peninsular, Korea were investigated. Four cultured red seabream CRB1 to CRB4 [total length (TL): 27.1 ± 1.0 cm; body weight: 359 ± 30 g] were tagged with an acoustic tag and used in experiment. CRB1 and CRB2 to CBR4 were released on the sea surface at same time around the constructing site of the wind power plant on September 22, 2017 and July 18, 2018, respectively. The tracking of the CRB1 to CRB2 and CRB3 to CRB4 were conducted for two hours, approximately, using VR100 receiver including a directional hydrophone and VR2W receivers array consisted of 19 presence/absence receivers (VR2W receivers), respectively. The underwater noise level before (no pile driving works) and during pile driving works was measured 116.0-118.0 dB (re 1Pa) and a maximum of 160 dB (re 1Pa), respectively. CRB1 moved about 6.0 km with average swimming speed of 80.2 ± 20.5 cm/s for 2.1 hours without pile driving work. The average water depth of the sea bed on the route of CRB1 was 9.1 ± 0.4 m. CRB2 moved about 7.3 km with the average swimming speed of 96.8 ± 27.1 cm/s for 2.1 hours with pile driving work. The water depth of the sea bed on the route of CRB2 was 11.9 ± 0.6 m. At results of the Rayleigh's z-test two fishes CRB1 and CRB2 showed significant directionality in the movement (p < 0.01). Movement mean angles of CRB1 and CRB2 were 92.7 and 251.8°, respectively. CRB2, CRB3 and CRB4 exhibited the escaping behavioral response from the noise of source during the pile driving work. The swimming speed of the CRB2 exposed on the heavy underwater noise stimuli due to the pile driving work was 1.21 times faster than that of the CRB1 exposed on the ambient underwater noise in the study site.

  • Educational games offer an opportunity to engage and inspire students to take an interest in every subject material in school. The "fun" obtain when playing games become a trigger for the use of games in learning. However, there are doubts whether the players actually learn while they are having fun. Vidyanusa is an Online Mathematics Education Game being developed by Crayonpedia Education Ecosystem in Indonesia. The learning goal of Vidyanusa is to engage junior high school students in learning mathematics. In this paper, we design the Vidyanusa game material Functions and Relations by using Balanced Design Approach. This approach has three models in succession; the Content Model outlines the purpose of the game, the Task Model maps out the mission, and the Evidence Model outlines student measurement. This paper will then discusses the quality of games produced in term of Usability factor for effective results and objective. The measurement of the game was carried out based on International Standard ISO/IEC 9126-1 FDIS about Software Quality Product.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the properties of epoxy resin using the big-sized titanium oxide nanoparticles. The effects of particle weight fraction and shape of sample on the thermal and mechanical properties in titanium oxide reinforced epoxy resin has been investigated. In addition, the effect of particle dispersion situation on the mechanical properties of nanocomposites has been studied. As a result, the Tg was almost same regardless of the content of nanoparticles. Storage modulus increased up to the content of 3wt% particles and then decreased. Tensile strength and modulus of film-shaped sample with 1wt% was higher than the one of pure epoxy, while other composites were not. The tensile strength of dogbone-shaped sample with 1wt% was only higher than the one of pure epoxy, while other composites were lower than the one of pure epoxy. Tensile modulus of dogbone-shaped samples increased with the content of particles.

  • This study aimed to suggest an alternative income generation (AIG) for local artisanal fisheries communities in the southern coastal area of Bangladesh, which is vulnerable to climate change. To analyze the problems of local artisanal fisheries caused by climate change, field surveys and in-depth interviews with fishermen and government officials were conducted. Livelihood risk factor (LRF) in the marine fishing sector included reduction of fishing days and fish production and damage to fishing vessels and fishing gear due to cyclone and sea-level rise. LRF in the aquaculture sector included cultured fish escape, reduction of aquaculture production, and water pollution due to Monsoon flood. A common challenge for two sectors was high interest rate on commercial loans. Small-scale tank aquaculture is recommended as AIG for securing income of artisanal fisheries communities. In the early stages of dissemination of small-scale tank aquaculture technology, it is necessary to prevent fishermen from struggling to repay high-interest rate loans through technology transfer and facility support by official development assistance. The aquaculture training center, along with the technical education, will also contribute toward expansion of local distribution network and marketing support to establish a value chain for local artisanal fisheries communities.

  • The characteristics of aquatic light fields are generally reflected in the visual systems of fishes inhabiting them. Therefore, research on light sensitivity of fish is useful to explain the correlation between the visual function and habitat, behavior and distribution of fish. Rockfish is an important species in coastal ecology and also one of the main species for culturing in Korea. To make a contribution on the maintenance of the fish resources and understanding the ecology of the rockfish, the visual spectral sensitivities of the dark-adapted rockfishes were measured in the range of visible light (405~660 nm) using a light source of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). In order to assess electrophysiological response of the fish, the ERGs (electroretinograms) of the dark-adapted rockfishes were recorded on a data logger (12 bits) and a laptop computer. Juvenile (n=5; weight: $20.3{\pm}5.2g$; total length: $10.3{\pm}0.7cm$) and adult (n=5; weight: $87.8{\pm}21.8g$; total length: $18.1{\pm}1.3cm$) rockfishes were used in experiment. The visual threshold of juvenile and adult rockfish were 11.66 (log quanta/$cm^2/s$) and 11.81 (log quanta/$cm^2/s$) in 574 nm, respectively. The peak wavelength of the spectral sensitivity in the dark-adapted juvenile and adult rockfish was commonly 551 nm (series of green color). Collectively, these results demonstrate that the rockfish has suitable visual capabilities for inhabiting coastal water in Korea.

  • The disappearance of seaweed flora in some rocky areas, which is known as algal whitening, barren ground, coralline flats, or deforested areas, is associated with some species of coralline algae. To determine the biological characteristics of a representative species of crustose coralline alga, the 18S rDNA gene was sequenced to identify the genus Lithophyllum. According to its morphological and distributional characteristics, it was deduced to be L. yessoense. Viability was measured using triphenyl tetrazolium chloride and showed high viability from December to February. Culture conditions of $16^{\circ}C$, a 16 hr light, 8 hr dark cycle, and 30 ${\mu}E/m^2/s$ light intensity were optimal for maintaining the viability of the alga for up to five days. Included in the fatty acids was 9.7% ${\omega}$-3 eicosapentaenoic acid. An electron microscopy scan of the surface structure revealed round craters about 3.6 ${\mu}m$ in diameter, which were covered with rough, irregular, and angular polygon-shaped structures about 1.0 to 3.7 ${\mu}m$ in size. Based on the composition and structure found in our study, biomimetic coralline alga might become an environmentally friendly antifouling material against the attachment of soft foulants.

  • This study was designed to develope the functional anti-diabetes drink, Dia-D using silkworm (Bombyx mori L) extract Sprague-Dawley (SD) male rats (160${\pm}$10g) were fed basic diet (control group), and experimental diets (SWE-l0, 30, 60 groups and Daonil-40, 80 groups) added silkworm extract 10, 30 and 60mg/day or diabetes drug prepared and marketed by Handok Pham. Co., Daonil 40 and 80 mg/day for 12 days. Blood glucose contents were significantly decreased 25-30% in SWE-30 and SWE-60 groups, and about 35% in Daonil 40 and Daonil 80 groups compared with control group. Triglyceride (TG) and lipid peroxide (LPO) contents were significantly inhibited 10-16% and 8-13%, respectively, in SWE-30 and 60 groups, whereas these contents were 13-30% and 15%, respectively, in Daonil-40 and 80 groups compared with control group. Hydroxyl radical (OH) contents were significantly inhibited 19-20% in SWE-30 and 60 groups, and 7-12% in Daonil-40 and 80 groups compared with control group. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities were significantly increased 11-14% in SWE-30 and 60 groups, and 12-29% in Daonil-40 and 80 groups compared with control group. In results of clinical test using normal subjects, blood glucose content tested in NIAST subjects as anti-diabetes drink, Dia-D willi 100mg/vial was significantly decreased 17.5%, and these content tested in PKNU subjects as anti-diabetes drink, Dia-D with 150mg/vial was significantly decreased 20.5% compared with control group. These results suggest that administration of Dia-D as an anti-diabetes drink prepared with silkworm extract may playa very effective role in a decreasing of blood glucose in hyperglycemia patients.
