다양한 환경조건에서 태양전지모듈의 PID회복특성 (PID Recovery Characteristics of Photovoltaic Modules in Various Environmental Conditions)

  • The Potential Induced Degradation(PID) in PV module mainly affected by various performance conditions such as a potential difference between solar cell and frame, ambient temperature and relative humidity. The positive charges as sodium ions in front glass reach solar cell in module by a potential difference and are accumulated in the solar cell. The ions accelerate the recombination of generation electrons within solar cell under illumination, which reduces the entire output of module. Recently, it was generally known that PID generation is suppressed by controlling the thickness of SiNx AR coating layer on solar cell or using Sodium-free glass and high resistivity encapsulant. However, recovery effects for module with PID are required, because those methods permanently prevent generating PID of module. PID recovery method that voltage reversely applies between solar cell and frame contract to PID generation begins to receive attention. In this paper, PID recovery tests by using voltage under various outdoor conditions as humidity, temperature, voltage are conducted to effectively mitigate PID in module. We confirm that this recovery method perfectly eliminates PID of solar cell according to repeative PID generation and recovery as well as the applied voltage of three factors mainly affect PID recovery.

LQG/LTR과 PID 기반의 무인항공기 슬렁-로드 수송 시스템의 제어기 설계 (LQG/LTR-PID based Controller Design of UAV Slung-Load Transportation System)

  • This paper copes with control design for unmanned aerial vehicle transportation system. Moving pendulum dynamics of slung-load system is derived using two methods: Udwadia-Kalaba equation and Newtonian approach. PID controller is applied to Udwadia-Kalaba equation model for structural consistency and linear quadratic Gaussian / Loop Transfer Recovery (LQG/LTR) technique is employed for Newtonian model with minimal state-space realization. Characteristics of PID and LQG/LTR controller are compared, and two controllers are combined to compensate the drawbacks of each other. Numerical simulation is set for two cases and conducted to evaluate performance of designed controllers. The result proves that combination of LQG/LTR and PID control performs stable and robust.

옥외 태양광 발전 시스템의 Potential Induced Degradation 진단 및 야간 역전압 회복 연구

  • The potential induced degradation (PID) phenomenon shows severe power loss within several years from the initial installation of solar power system. The accumulated power loss by PID is inevitable because the PID is suspected only if the power loss exceeds several percent. In this paper, we analyzed the cases of PID diagnosis and recovery by visiting the suspected PID site about 17 months after the installation of the 100kW PV system. The power difference of the two 50kW inverters was more than 20kWh, and the PR difference was more than 8%. From the beginning of the installation, the difference in power gradually increased. The recovery was observed for about 7 months by applying 1000V in the reverse bias at night. As a result, the power difference of the two inverters was recovered to within 2kWh. In the case of a power station suffering from PID in the field, it will be helpful for stable development operation by quick diagnosis and problem solving.

Analysis and Design of a Separate Sampling Adaptive PID Algorithm for Digital DC-DC Converters

  • Based on the conventional PID algorithm and the adaptive PID (AD-PID) algorithm, a separate sampling adaptive PID (SSA-PID) algorithm is proposed to improve the transient response of digitally controlled DC-DC converters. The SSA-PID algorithm, which can be divided into an oversampled adaptive P (AD-P) control and an adaptive ID (AD-ID) control, adopts a higher sampling frequency for AD-P control and a conventional sampling frequency for AD-ID control. In addition, it can also adaptively adjust the PID parameters (i.e. $K_p$, $K_i$ and $K_d$) based on the system state. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better line transient and load transient responses than the conventional PID and AD-PID algorithms. Compared with the conventional PID and AD-PID algorithms, the experimental results based on a FPGA indicate that the recovery time of the SSA-PID algorithm is reduced by 80% and 67% separately, and that overshoot is decreased by 33% and 12% for a 700mA load step. Moreover, the SSA-PID algorithm can achieve zero overshoot during startup.

  • 본 논문은 태양광발전 시스템에서 태양광 모듈의 출력 저하 특성을 야기하는 PID (Potential Induced Degradation) 현상의 발생원인 및 출력회복을 위한 PID 저감 기법을 연구하였다. 태양광 모듈의 프레임과 셀 간에 발생하는 전위차로 인한 PID 현상의 직접적인 원인인 분극현상에 대해 분석하였으며, PID 현상이 태양광 모듈의 출력특성에 미치는 영향을 I-V 특성곡선 변화를 통해 해석하였다. PID 현상의 발생 원인을 기반으로 태양광 모듈의 전극 출력단인 양극과 음극을 단락시키고 접지된 프레임을 기준으로 양의 전압을 인가함으로써 태양광모듈의 출력특성을 회복하는 PID 저감 기법을 제안하였다.

An FPGA-Based Modified Adaptive PID Controller for DC/DC Buck Converters

  • On the basis of the conventional PID control algorithm, a modified adaptive PID (MA-PID) control algorithm is presented to improve the steady-state and dynamic performance of closed-loop systems. The proposed method has a straightforward structure without excessively increasing the complexity and cost. It can adaptively adjust the values of the control parameters ($K_p$, $K_i$ and $K_d$) by following a new control law. Simulation results show that the line transient response of the MA-PID is better than that of the adaptive digital PID because the differential coefficient $K_d$ is introduced to changes. In addition, experimental results based on a FPGA indicate that the MA-PID control algorithm reduces the recovery time by 62.5% in response to a 1V line transient, 50% in response to a 500mA load transient, and 23.6% in response to a steady-state deviation, when compared with the conventional PID control algorithm.

  • 초음속 추진기관은 기계적인 압축기를 통해 흡입공기를 압축하는 방식이 아니라 램 압축 현상을 이용하여 흡입공기를 압축하기 때문에 흡입구에서의 전압력 회복율이 초음속 추진기관 전체의 작동특성에 결정적인 영향을 주게 된다. 제어기 설계에 앞서 엔진의 동특성 해석을 수행한 결과 비행체의 받음각이 커질수록 버즈마진 값이 작아져 일부영역에서는 충격파가 흡입구 외부에서 발생하게 됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 흡입구 내의 충격파 특성이 성능요구조건을 만족할 수 있도록 버즈마진을 제어하기 위한 PID 제어알고리즘을 설계하였다. 제어변수는 연료유량과 노즐 목면적이며 버즈마진 값이 양의 값을 갖도록 PID 제어기를 설계하였다.

모델링오차와 불확실성을 지배적으로 받는 시스템의 강인한 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Robust Control of Systems Dominantly Subkected to Modeling Errors and Uncertainties)

  • In order to control systems which are dominantly subjected to modeling errors and uncertainties, control strategies must deal with the effect of modeling errors and uncertainties. Since most of control methods based on system mathematical model, such as LQG/LTR method, have been developed mainly focused on stability robustness, they can not smartly improve the transient response disturbed by modeling errors and/or uncertainties. In this research, a fuzzy PID control method is suggested, which can stably improve the transient responses of systems disturbed by modeling errors as well as systems not entirely using mathematical models. So as to assure the effectiveness of suggested control method, computer simulations are accomplished for some example systems, through the comparison of transient responses.

에너지 절감형 항온항습기 운전 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the energy-saving constant temperature and humidity machine operating characteristics)

  • 본 연구에서 적용한 열회복 방식은 적은 동력사용으로 최대의 냉각능력을 낼 수 있는 에너지 절약형이다. 항온항습기의 온습도를 보다 정밀 한 제어 기능을 갖도록 하기 위해 제어 알고리즘은 퍼지 PID 제어기를 설계하여 적용하였고, 외기보상장치(공냉식)를 갖추어 동절기에 $-20^{\circ}C$에서도 우수한 제습능력을 발휘하게 하였다. 고효율, 저소음형 시로코 팬을 채용하여 정숙운전이 되며 장비특성에 따라 상향식과 하향식에 맞도록 설계하였다. 실험한 결과 변환 효율은 95%이상, 정전복귀는 5sec 이내, 정지지연은 30sec 이내, 펌프다운은 10sec, 펌프지연은 5sec, 히팅지연은 5sec, 온도편차는 ${\pm}2^{\circ}C$(냉방편차: $2^{\circ}C$, 난방 편차: $2^{\circ}C$), 습도편차는 ${\pm}5%$(가습편차 3.0%, 제습편차 3.0%)을 갖게 하였다. 최근 유비쿼터스 기술이 중요시 되고 있기에 핸드폰을 통해 항온항습기를 원격 제어 할 수 있도록 하였고, MMI 소프트웨어와 자동 인터페이스를 지원하여 확장성이 뛰어나게 하였다. 또한 지능형 컨트롤러 고장진단에 의한 부품 및 장비의 수명이 연장 되도록 하였다.

Theoretical Analysis of Fast Gain-Transient Recovery of EDFAs Adopting a Disturbance Observer with PiD Controller in WDM Network

  • We have proposed an application of disturbance observer with PID controller to minimize gain-transient time of wavelength-division-multiplexing(WDM) multi channels in optical amplifier in channel add/drop networks. We have dramatically reduced the gain-transient time to less than $3{\mu}sec$ by applying a disturbance observer with a proportional/integral/ differential(PID) controller to the control of amplifier gain. The theoretical analysis on the 3-level erbium-doped fiber laser and the disturbance observer technique is demonstrated by performing the simulation with co-simulation of the $MATLAB^{TM}$ and a numerical modeling software package such as the $Optsim^{TM}$.
