Photo scanning can create point cloud and polygon models like 3D scanners bringing an object into the 3 dimensional world by combining several sheets of photographic information. The created data give us information about planes and sectional forms required for a 2 dimensional survey as well as 3 dimensional figures of buried cultural property. It requires a lot of time to record buried cultural property in the field, however, the photo scanning technique does not need additional equipment and manpower so the work may begin immediately while the property is protected. Moreover, it reduces financial burdens as it creates 3 dimensional data using images acquired by photography but provides the optimal condition to check 3 dimensional information quickly and easily.

Most researches for impinging jet spray have been focused on under-standing the breakup mechanism of a liquid sheet formed by the collision of jets and modeling the spray breakup using experimental data. For this reason, there have been few studies on the characteristics of the spatial spray distribution which affects significantly the combustion efficiency. Hence, we measured the radial distribution of fuel massflux using a like-doublet type injector. Instead of PDPA(Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer) which has been used only for the point measurement of the drop size of spray, PLIF(Planar Laser Induced Fluorescence) technique was developed lot the 2-D measurement of the massflux distribution of spray Indirect photography technique was also used to verify PLIF data.

Detection and monitoring of wildfires are essential for limiting their harmful effects on ecosystems, human lives, and property. In this research, we propose a novel method running in the Google Earth Engine platform for identifying and characterizing burnt regions using a hybrid of Sentinel-1 (C-band synthetic aperture radar) and Sentinel-2 (multispectral photography) images. The 2022 Uljin wildfire, the severest event in South Korean history, is the primary area of our investigation. Given its documented success in remote sensing and land cover categorization applications, we select the Random Forest (RF) method as our primary classifier. Next, we evaluate the performance of our model using multiple accuracy measures, including overall accuracy (OA), Kappa coefficient, and area under the curve (AUC). The proposed method shows the accuracy and resilience of wildfire identification compared to traditional methods that depend on survey data. These results have significant implications for the development of efficient and dependable wildfire monitoring systems and add to our knowledge of how machine learning and remote sensing-based approaches may be combined to improve environmental monitoring and management applications.
General phantom for practical X-ray photography Practical phantom is an indispensable textbook for radiology, but it is difficult for existing commercially available phantom to be equipped with various kinds of phantom because it is an expensive import. Using 3D printing technology, I would like to make the general phantom for practical X-ray photography less expensive and easier. We would like to use a skeleton model that was produced based on CT image data using a 3D printer of FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) method as a phantom for general X-ray imaging. 3D slicer 4.7.0 program is used to convert CT DICOM image data into STL file, convert it to G-code conversion process, output it to 3D printer, and create skeleton model. The phantom of the completed phantom was photographed by X - ray and CT, and compared with actual medical images and phantoms on the market, there was a detailed difference between actual medical images and bone density, but it could be utilized as a practical phantom. 3D phonemes that can be used for general X-ray practice can be manufactured at low cost by utilizing 3D printers which are low cost and distributed and free 3D slicer program for research. According to the future diversification and research of 3D printing technology, it will be possible to apply to various fields such as health education and medical service.
Purpose: This study was conducted to objectively and subjectively compare the accuracy and reliability of 2-dimensional(2D) photography and 3-dimensional(3D) soft tissue imaging. Materials and Methods: Facial images of 50 volunteers(25 males, 25 females) were captured with a Nikon D800 2D camera (Nikon Corporation, Tokyo, Japan), 3D stereophotogrammetry (SPG), and laser scanning (LS). All subjects were imaged in a relaxed, closed-mouth position with a normal smile. The 2D images were then exported to Mirror® Software (Canfield Scientific, Inc, NJ, USA) and the 3D images into Proplan CMF® software (version 2.1, Materialise HQ, Leuven, Belgium) for further evaluation. For an objective evaluation, 2 observers identified soft tissue landmarks and performed linear measurements on subjects' faces (direct measurements) and both linear and angular measurements on all images(indirect measurements). For a qualitative analysis, 10 dental observers and an expert in facial imaging (subjective gold standard) completed a questionnaire regarding facial characteristics. The reliability of the quantitative data was evaluated using intraclass correlation coefficients, whereas the Fleiss kappa was calculated for qualitative data. Results: Linear and angular measurements carried out on 2D and 3D images showed excellent inter-observer and intra-observer reliability. The 2D photographs displayed the highest combined total error for linear measurements. SPG performed better than LS, with borderline significance (P=0.052). The qualitative assessment showed no significant differences among the 2D and 3D imaging modalities. Conclusion: SPG was found to a reliable and accurate tool for the morphological evaluation of soft tissue in comparison to 2D imaging and laser scanning.
Watershed boundaries and flow paths within the watershed are the most important factors required in watershed analysis. Most often the derivation of watershed boundaries and stream network and flow paths is based on topographical maps but spatial variation of flow direction is not clearly understandable using this method. Water resources projects currently use 1: 50, 000-scale ground survey or aerial photography-based topographical maps to derive watershed boundary and stream network. In basins, where these maps are not available or not accessible it creates a real barrier to watershed geo-spatial analysis. Such situations require the use of global datasets, like GTOPO30. Global data sets like ETOPO5, GTOPO30 are the only data sets, which can be used to derive basin boundaries and stream network and other terrain variations like slope aspects and flow direction and flow accumulation of the watershed in the absence of topographic maps. Approximately 1-km grid-based GTOPO 30 data sets can derive better outputs for larger basins, but they fail in flat areas like the Karkheh basin in Iran and the Amudarya in Uzbekistan. A new window in geo-spatial hydrology has opened after the launching of the space-borne satellite stereo pair of the Terra ASTER sensor. ASTER data sets are available at very low cost for most areas of the world and global coverage is expected within the next four years. The DEM generated from ASTER data has a reasonably good accuracy, which can be used effectively for hydrology application, even in small basins. This paper demonstrates the use of stereo pairs in the generation of ASTER DEMs, the application of ASTER DEM for watershed boundary delineation, sub-watershed delineation and explores the possibility of understanding the drainage flow paths in irrigation command areas. All the ASTER derived products were compared with GTOPO and 1:50,000-based topographic map products and this comparison showed that ASTER stereo pairs can derive very good data sets for all the basins with good spatial variation, which are equal in quality to 1:50,000 scale maps-based products.

GPS (Global Positioning System) is currently used widely in the ground section, such as surveying, mapping, geodesy, geophysics, the aviation section, such as aerial navigation and aerial photography, the sea section, including ship navigation and bathymetry, and space section, such as the satellite orbit and Earth's orbit. On the other hand, its use is limited due to the professional knowledge and expense to process the data for precise analysis. As a result, a web-based data processing solution for precise point positioning using GPS data was developed by c# for non-specialized people to process easily. In addition, the crustal movement speed of Korea after an earthquake was calculated to be an average of 30mm/year for each CORS, suggesting that it is possible to monitor crustal movement.

In recent years, the importance of geospatial data have been emphasized not only for the national GIS programs and but also in the value added commercial and industry markets. There is no doubt that GIS, GPS, aerial and satellite imagery data were provided powerful tools to support national information infrastructure for geospatial database. While great emphasis has been laid on the geospatial data, there has been little analysis or evaluation of how to maximize the benefits of using these information sources. Also, with the proliferation of geographic data and information sources such as satellite imagery, digital aerial photography, digital topographic and vector data, there is a great need to inform professionals from all disciplines as to the benefits of these information sources and how to best put them to use within any given application. From the first publication of KSGPC(Korean Society of Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography) papers in 1981, our objective was, and is, to help develop the wider spectrum of GIS in the academy and industry by exposing new users to the benefits of GIS, remote sensing, mapping, GPS and photogrammetry. In this presentation, we will introduce KSGPC works and will evaluate GIS-related governmental policies and programs in Korea for the past and the future to present different status between Korea and Russia. It is now important to investigate lessons learnt from two countries' experiences and developed an empirical framework to combine outcomes from GIS-related researches in Korea and Russia. This may enable GIS professionals to gain a wider range of experiences in the international context, and consequently, help them to develop new markets for GIS. Therefore, we arranged the possible action items and interesting points to corporate and to promote the academic growth in the practice of GIS.
The cost of deploying Geological and Environmental information gathering systems, especially when such systems obtain remote sensing and photographic data through the use of commercial satellites and aircraft. Besides the high cost equipment required, adverse weather conditions can further restrict a researcher's ability to collect data anywhere and anytime. To mitigate this problem, we have developed a compact, multi-spectral automatic Aerial photographic system. This system's Multi-spectral camera is capable of the visible (RGB) and infrared (NIR) bands (3032*2008 pixel). It consists of a thermal infrared camera and automatic balance control, and can be managed by a palm-top computer. Other features includes a camera gimbal system, GPS receiver, weather sensor among others. We have evaluated the efficiency of this system in several field tests at the following locations: Kyongsang-bukdo beach, Nakdong river (at each site of mulkeum-namji and koryung-gumi), and Kyungahn River. Its tested ability in aerial photography, weather data, as well as GPS data acquisition demonstrates its flexibility as a tool for environmental data monitoring.

Drone images are being used more and more actively in the fields of surveying and spatial information, and are rapidly replacing existing aerial and satellite images. The technology of quickly acquiring real-time data at low cost and processing it is now being applied to actual industries beyond research. However, there are also problems encountered as this progresses. When high-resolution spatial information is acquired using a general 2D flight plan for a terrain with sever undulations, problems arise due to the difference in resolution of the data. In particular, when a low-altitude high-resolution image is taken using a drone in a mountainous or steep terrain, there may be a problem in image matching due to a resolution difference caused by terrain undulations. This problem occurs because a drone acquires data while flying on a 2D plane at a fixed altitude, just like conventional aerial photography. In order to acquire high-quality 3D data using a drone, the scale difference for the shooting distance should be considered. In addition, in order to obtain facade images of large structures, it is necessary to take images in 3D space. In this study, in order to improve the disadvantages of the 2D flight method, a 3D flight plan was established for the study area, and it was confirmed that high-quality 3D spatial information could be obtained in this way.
