In the post-Cold War era, acquisition technique of high-resolution satellite imagery (HRSI) has begun to commercialize. IKONOS-2 satellite imaging data is supplied for the first time in the 21st century. Many researchers testified mapping possibility of the HRSI data instead of aerial photography. It is easy to renew and automate a topographical map because HRSI not only can be more taken widely and periodically than aerial photography, but also can be directly supplied as digital image. In this study matching size of IKONOS Geo-level stereo image is presented lot production of digital elevation model (DEM). We applied area based matching method using correlation coefficient of pixel brightness value between the two images. After matching line (where "matching line" implies straight line that is approximated to complex non-linear epipolar geometry) is established by exterior orientation parameters (EOPs) to minimize search area, the matching is tarried out based on this line. The experiment on matching size is performed according to land cover property, which is divided off into four areas (water, urban land, forest land and agricultural land). In each of the test areas, window size for the highest correlation coefficient is selected as propel size for matching. As the results of experiment, the proper size was selected as $123{\times}123$ pixels window, $13{\times}13$ pixels window, $129{\times}129$ pixels window and $81{\times}81$ pixels window in the water area, urban land, forest land and agricultural land, respectively. Of course, determination of the matching size by the correlation coefficient may be not absolute appraisal method. Optimum matching size using the geometric accuracy therefore, will be presented by the further work.

All around tile world there has been great human and economical damage continuously by disasters like the earthquakes and storms(Tsunami) in eastern asia which recently occurred, and like the New Orleams hurricane in USA. The situation is our countries damage from natural disasters due to heavy snow, storms, forest fires have been increasing In this research we obtained GSIS data of the 05' Yang-yang forest fire disaster area using multi-sensors like airborne laser data, GPS/INS, aerial photograph surveying. In result we produced digital topographical maps, digital elevation models, digital external models, digital images, infrared images. By, analyzing and comparing with past aerial photography we obtained the exact damage area, amount of damage, estimated tile areas where a landslide might occur, and we analyzed vegetations amount of damage and possibility of recovery.

This paper covers research on terrain construction for unmanned aerial vehicle simulators using spatial information that was distributed by public institutions. Aerial photography, DEM, vector maps and 3D model data were used in order to create a realistic terrain simulator. A data converting method was suggested while researching, so it was generated to automatically arrange and build city models (vWorld provided) and classification methods so that realistic images could be generated by 3D objects. For example: rivers, forests, roads, fields and so on, were arranged by aerial photographs, vector map (land cover map) and terrain construction based on the tile map used by DEM. In order to verify the terrain data of unmanned aircraft simulators produced by the proposed method, the location accuracy was verified by mounting onto Unreal Engine and checked location accuracy.

With the aging of buildings, the number and importance of regular inspections of buildings are increasing. The current safety inspection goes through a procedure in which a skilled technician visits an old building, visually checks it, takes a photo, and finally organizes and judges it at the office. For this, field personnel and analysis and review personnel are required. Since the inspection procedure includes taking pictures, a huge amount of data has been accumulated from the time digital photos were used to the present. When a model that can check cracks outside a building is developed using these data, manpower and time required can be greatly reduced. Therefore, this study aims to create a model for classifying cracks that occur outside the building through the artificial intelligence method. The created model can be used as a basic model for determining cracks only by external photography in the future, and furthermore, it can be used as basic data for calculating the size and width of cracks.
Recently, various daylight evaluation methods for visual environment have been developed; simulation analysis methods, numerical calculation, and data monitoring methods. However, it is impossible for simulation analysis to make real scenes and visualize real images exactly. Also, a numerical calculation is considered as an out of date and time-consuming mean. Therefore, for acquisition of accurate results, many studies often use the monitoring data methods. Especially, most studies regarding discomfort glare are evaluated by measuring the physical quantity of luminance through traditional measuring Minolta Luminance meters as an instrument. But, this method has a difficulty in measuring several points at the same time because of the limitation of spaces and time when mapping. So, this study focused on the potential usefulness of High Dynamic Range photography technique as a luminance mapping tool. In order to evaluate the accuracy of proposed programs such as webHDR, Photomatix and PHOTOLUX, this paper has conducted an experiment by using Canon EOS 5D and NICON Coolpix8400 digital camera.

Optical disk drives (ODDs) are subjected to vibrations caused by the high-speed rotation of the optical disk, and these vibrations can be excessive and reduce the read/write performance. Elastic rubber mounts with cushioning materials are often used to minimize these problems. In this paper, the source of vibrations was identified by experimental modal tests and high-speed photography. Structural modifications were made based on a lumped parameter model and a finite element model.

We present an analysis of urban development and growth with reconnaissance satellite photographs of Columbus metropolitan area acquired by the Corona program in 1965. A two-dimensional polynomial linear transformation was used to rectify the photos against United State Geological Survey (USGS) Large-scale Digital Line Graph (DLG) data georeferenced to Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinates. The boundaries of the Columbus metropolitan area were extracted from the rectified Corona image mosaic using a Bayesian approach to image segmentation. The inferred 1965 urban boundaries were compared with 1976 USGS Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) data and boundaries derived from 1988 and 1994 Landsat TM images. The urban area in and around Columbus approximately doubled from 1965 to 1994 (${\sim}110%$) along with population growth from 1960 to 1998 (${\sim}50%$). Most of the urban expansion results from development of residential units.

Documenting work-in-progress on construction sites using images captured with smartphones, point-and-shoot cameras, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) has gained significant popularity among practitioners. The spatial and temporal density of these large-scale site image collections and the availability of 4D Building Information Models (BIM) provide a unique opportunity to develop BIM-driven visual analytics that can quickly and easily detect and visualize construction progress deviations. Building on these emerging sources of information this paper presents a pipeline for model-driven visual analytics of construction progress. It particularly focuses on the following key steps: 1) capturing, transferring, and storing images; 2) BIM-driven analytics to identify performance deviations, and 3) visualizations that enable root-cause assessments on performance deviations. The information requirements, and the challenges and opportunities for improvements in data collection, plan preparations, progress deviation analysis particularly under limited visibility, and transforming identified deviations into performance metrics to enable root-cause assessments are discussed using several real world case studies.

The rational polynomial coefficients(RPC) model is a generalized sensor model that is used as an alternative for the physical sensor model for IKONOS-2 and QuickBird. As the number of sensors increases along with greater complexity, and as the need for standard sensor model has become important, the applicability of the RPC model is also increasing. The RPC model can be substituted for all sensor models, such as the projective camera the linear pushbroom sensor and the SAR This paper is aimed at generating a RPC model from the physical sensor model of the KOMPSAT-1(Korean Multi-Purpose Satellite) and aerial photography. The KOMPSAT-1 collects $510{\sim}730nm$ panchromatic images with a ground sample distance (GSD) of 6.6m and a swath width of 17 km by pushbroom scanning. We generated the RPC from a physical sensor model of KOMPSAT-1 and aerial photography. The iterative least square solution based on Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm is used to estimate the RPC. In addition, data normalization and regularization are applied to improve the accuracy and minimize noise. And the accuracy of the test was evaluated based on the 2-D image coordinates. From this test, we were able to find that the RPC model is suitable for both KOMPSAT-1 and aerial photography.
The color appearance of cultural heritage are essential factors for manufacturing technique interpretation, conservation treatment usage, and condition monitoring. Therefore, this study systematically established color reproduction procedures based on the digital color management system for the portrait of Gwon Eungsu. Moreover, various application strategies for recording and conserving the cultural heritage were proposed. Overall color reproduction processes were conducted in the following order: photography condition setting, standard color measurements, digital photography, color correction, and color space creation. Therefore, compared with the color appearance, the digital image applied to a camera maker profile indicated an average color difference of 𝜟10.1. However, the digital reproduction result based on the color management system exhibits an average color difference of 𝜟1.1, which is close to the color appearance. This means that although digital photography conditions are optimized, recording the color appearance is difficult when relying on the correction algorithm developed by the camera maker. Therefore, the digital color reproduction of cultural heritage is required through color correction and color space creation based on the raw digital image, which is a crucial process for documenting the color appearance. Additionally, the recording of color appearance through digital color reproduction is important for condition evaluation, conservation treatment, and restoration of cultural heritage. Furthermore, standard data of imaging analysis are available for discoloration monitoring.
