응답자의 성격특성과 응답스타일 (Personality Traits and Response Styles)

  • 본 연구는 조사항목에 체계적으로 응답하는 경향인 응답스타일과 성격특성과의 관련을 탐색한다. 보다 구체적으로, 내용에 관계없이 설문문항에 긍정적으로 응답하는 경향인 묵인응답스타일(ARS)와 가장 극단의 응답범주를 지지하는 경향인 극단응답스타일(ERS)이 외향성, 친화성, 성실성, 정서적 안정성, 경험에 대한 개방성 등 성격 5요인 모형에 의해 어느 정도 설명되는지를 검증한다. 2009년 일반종합사회조사의 자료를 이용하여, 응답자의 특성과 면접상황의 효과를 통제한 상태에서, 성격특성변수가 ERS와 ARS 성향에 미치는 효과를 분석하였다. 분석의 결과, ERS의 발생은 응답자의 외향성, 개방성, 친화성, 성실성과 정적인 관련을 맺고 있었으며, ARS는 성격특성과의 관련이 발견되지 않았다. 분석결과의 함의와 함께 응답스타일에 따른 편의의 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법들과 그 한계점이 논의되었다.

여고생의 복색 선호와 성격특성과의 상관연구 (The Relationship Between Color & Clothing Color Preference And Personality Traits Among High School Girls)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between color & clothing color preferences and three personality traits. Personality traits were measured with chung's Personality Scale. The questionare measuring Color & Clothing color preferences consisted of items designed to assess color preference, color repugnance clothing color preferences. These questionaire were administered to 302 senior high school girls in Seoul. Statistical analysis consisted of corelation and chi-square-test. The result were; 1) Activity, stability, sociability was no significant related to color preference. 2) Activity, sociability was positively related to color repugnance in Value but stability was no significant. 3) Sociability and stability was positively related to color preference, but activity and stability was no significant. 4) There was a positive relationship between color preference and clothing color preference. (r=0.8867) 5) The most preferred colors were white, light blue, and light green. The most repugnated colors were light red, dark red purple, and dark yellow. 6) The most preferred clothing colors were yellow, pink, and green in Spring, white and blue in Summer all kinds of colors, colors in Autumn, and Black and Grey in Winter.

The Influence of personality traits on the Facebook Addiction

  • Many empirical studies indicate that SNS use has increased substantially over the last few years. People use SNSs for social purposes, mostly related to the maintenance of existing offline contacts. Such usage may have led to compulsive use of SNSs resulting in addictive behavior. This paper aims to explore factors affecting SNS addiction. Specifically, the study examined the role of personality traits in the Facebook usage among college students. Compared to the rest of world, daily log on the site has grown very quickly in South Korea. And college students constitute a vast majority of Facebook users in South Korea. Results from a survey of 235 college students revealed that extraversion and neuroticism positively predicted Facebook usage. Students who were high in extraversion were more likely to update their profiles, share photo and images with others and give feedback on other's posts. Similarly, those who were high in neuroticism were more likely to share photo and images with others and update their profiles. These findings support previous research. Furthermore, in terms of the effect of personality on SNS addiction, this study found that consciousness was negatively associated with Facebook addiction, while extraversion and neuroticism were positively associated with Facebook addiction. Based on these findings implications and directions for futures studies are discussed.

Antecedents of self-reported safety behaviors among commissioning workers in nuclear power plants: The roles of demographics, personality traits and safety attitudes

  • Demographics, personality traits and attitudes are related to safety behaviors in varied workplaces, but their roles in nuclear power plants (NPPs) have not been fully understood. This study was conducted to explore the roles of a set of demographic, personality and attitudinal factors on self-reported safety behaviors (including safety participation and human errors) among NPP commissioning workers. Survey data were collected from 157 Chinese commissioning workers. Results showed that age and work experience were significantly associated with human errors, but not with safety participation. Neuroticism and conscientiousness were significantly related to human errors, while neuroticism, conscientiousness and agreeableness were significantly related to safety participation. Attitude towards questioning was observed as an antecedent of safety participation, and functioned as a mediating variable in the relation between conscientiousness and safety behaviors. The findings provide evidence-based implications on the design of diverse interventions and strategies for the promotion of safety behaviors in NPPs.

인성변화(人性變化)와 요통(腰痛)의 상관관계(相關關係)에 관한 임상적(臨床的) 고찰(考察) -MMPI를 중심(中心)으로- (A clinical study on the interrelation between mutation of personality and Lumbago -On the MMPI test-)

  • A clinical study was done to investigate how the personality traits of Lumbago are reflected in the Minesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory(MMPI). This study was done on 35 lumbago patients(23 lumbago due to Kidney-asthenia<腎虛腰痛> and 12 lumbago due to Spleen-asthenia<脾虛腰痛>). The results were as follows ; 1. The mean T-scores on each scale were within normal range in lumbago group. 2. The personality traits of lumbago showed elevation seales of Hs, D, Hy. 3. Comparing lumbago due to Kidney-asthenia group with lumbago due to Spleen-asthenia group, scale of HS, D, Hy, Pa(P<0.05) were significantly higher in the former. 4. According to pattern analysis, Psycho-neurotic trait was recognized in 8.70% of lumbago due to Kidney-asthenia group, 33.33% of lumbago due to Spleen-asthenia group. This finding supports the existing hypothesis that Spleen-asthenia(脾虛) are strongly related to Seven-modes-of-emotions(七情) than Kidney-asthenia(腎虛).

Emotion Regulation as a Pathway Through Which Personality Affects Psychological Well-being: A Preliminary Study in Korea and the United States

  • Emotion regulation has been suggested as a pathway through which personality traits (e.g., extraversion or neuroticism) affect psychological well-being. However, the pathway needs further investigation across cultures due to variations in parts of the relationship reported in recent culture research. With an aim of improving current understanding of the pathway, we investigated the role of emotion regulation mediating the link between personality traits and well-being across two college samples from different cultural backgrounds: Korea and the United States (US). Results of mediation analysis revealed that the extraversion-well-being relationship was fully mediated by the degree to which individuals regulate negative emotions in both Korean and US samples. However, the neuroticism-well-being relationship was partially mediated by emotion regulation in the US sample, while it was fully mediated in the Korean sample. The role of emotion regulation differently functioning across cultures suggests the importance of investigating cultural-specific mechanism of psychological processes.

성격 특성이 항공사 객실 승무원의 정서적 고갈에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Personality Traits on Emotional Exhaustion among Flight Attendants)

  • This study examines hypotheses that four personality traits(extroversion, emotional stability, openness to experience, and agreeableness) have effect on emotional exhaustion among flight attendants. Questionnaires were collected from 344 flight attendants working for two airlines in Korea. From the hierarchical regression analysis, this research could find out some results such as follows. First, extroversion, emotional stability, and agreeableness, with the exception of openness to experience, decrease the level of emotional exhaustion. Second, according to the results of these analyses organizations should consider employee's personality fitting to job in selection process.

대학생의 성격요인과 스트레스 대처방식과의 관계에 대한 자기효능감의 매개효과 -신경증과 성실성을 중심으로- (The Mediation effect of Self-Efficacy on the Relationship between Personality Factors and Stress Coping Strategies in college students -Focus on Neuroticism and Conscientiousness-)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 성격 5요인 중 신경증과 성실성, 스트레스 대처방식과의 관계에서 자기효능감의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 설정된 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성격요인과 스트레스 대처방식, 자기효능감의 관계는 어떠한지 분석하였다. 둘째, 성격 5요인 가운데 그 자체가 대학생의 정신건강을 의미하는 변인으로, 임상적 의미가 매우 높은 신경증과 성실성을 선정하여 신경증 및 성실성과 스트레스 대처방식과의 관계에서 자기효능감이 매개역할을 하는지 알아보았다. 이러한 연구문제를 검증하기 위하여 충청지역 D대학 1학년 462명을 대상으로 성격 5요인 척도, 스트레스 대처방식 척도, 자기효능감 척도를 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 성격요인 중 신경증, 성실성과 자기효능감과의 상관 분석 결과 신경증과 자기효능감은 부적 상관을 나타내고, 성실성은 정적 상관을 나타냈다. 그리고 성격 5요인과 스트레스 대처방식을 살펴보면 성실성은 스트레스 대처방식 가운데 회피중심과 부적상관을 보였고, 신경증은 스트레스 대처방식 중 사회적지지, 문제해결중심과 부적상관을 보였다. 둘째, 성격요인 중 신경증, 성실성과 스트레스대처방식과의 관계에서 자기효능감의 매개효과를 분석한 결과 자기효능감은 신경증 요인과 회피중심 간에 관계에서만 부분 매개효과가 있음을 나타냈다. 이러한 결과는 대학생의 스트레스 대처를 예측하기 위해 성격요인이 유용한 심리적 구인이라는 점과 특히 대학생의 정신건강의 예언변수인 신경증 요인과 스트레스 대처방식 가운데 회피성향을 갖고 있는 경우 정신적 스트레스를 줄이기 위해 자기효능감에 대한 교육적 중재의 필요성을 밝혔다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

How Can Self Love Lead to Spying on Ex-Partners on Facebook? -The Effects of Ego Factors on Facebook Surveillance -

  • In this study, we attempted to identify the personality traits that influence one's likelihood to stalk an ex-partner on Facebook. Specifically, we focused on self-concept-related traits, given that the motivations for using social network sites (SNS) are highly associated with the concept of self. These include self-esteem, narcissism, and self-efficacy. To assess these factors, we controlled for extraneous variables while assessing the predictive power of personality traits, such as Facebook usage, length of the relationship, and time since the break-up. The results of a self-administered, web-based survey (N=207) showed that self-esteem, narcissism, and self-efficacy are all traits that can predict the stalking of an ex-partner on Facebook. More specifically, we showed a negative association between self-esteem and one's likelihood to stalk an ex-partner on Facebook, while it showed positive relationships between Facebook stalking and both narcissism and self-efficacy.

공학설계수업에서 팀 성격구성이 팀 창의성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Team Personality Composition on Team Creativity in Engineering Design Class)

  • 본 연구는 설계교과목에서 팀 프로젝트를 수행한 학생들을 대상으로 팀의 성격구성과 팀 창의성 간의 관계를 파악하기 위해 수행되었다. 공대생 249명, 총 48개 팀을 대상으로 성격 5요인에 대해 성격요인 상승(TPE) 및 성격요인 다양성(TPD)이 팀 창의성과 어떤 관계를 갖는 지를 알아보았다. 그 결과, 외향성과 개방성은 성격요인 다양성(TPD)이 팀 창의성과 관련이 있는 반면, 성실성, 호감성, 신경증은 성격요인 상승(TPE)이 팀 창의성과 관련이 있었다. 본 연구결과의 제한점과 후속연구를 위한 제언이 논의되었다.
