This study implemented a remote control system using PDA based on WINDOWS CE. NET. In existing remote control systems, the user generally controls remote objects and obtain data using a computer, which is a local system connected to the internet, and the remote objects are connected to server computers. In order to control remote objects, the user has to have a computer, a space to use the Internet, and wired internet. The system proposed in this study uses an embedded board as a server and PDA as a client. Thus, the user can control remote objects at any place as long as wireless internet is available. In addition, because an embedded board is used as a server, the system has the characteristics of high performance and low power consumption. The proposed system provides not only remote control environment using PDA but also conventional control environment using a computer as a client. In case PDA is not available, remote objects still can be controlled from any place as long as there are wired internet and a computer.

PDA model is new collection development method not only corresponding user's demand, but also expensing acquisition budget effectively. In the PDA model, when the trigger that indicates user's demand reaches up to treshold, e-book is automatically purchased without librarian's interrogation. This study examines concept, basic principles, and current condition of operation about PDA and finds a way that could applicate to Korean university library foreign E-book consortium. Current model of university library e-book acquisition pursuit reduction of budget and utility value, but the selected collection is not based on user's demand. Therefore, it could be considerable to apply PDA or evidence based purchase model to foreign e-book acquisition consortium.

This study aims to examine the environmental aspect of users of PDA, an information device whose use is on the rise. The focus is put on the display of PDA products to see how it considered effectiveness and visual effect for users. A better environment will be presented for users by analyzing problems in interface design, such as how easily users can access information and how simply and clearly users can process such information. Additionally, each of PDA products will be tested to see what difficulties users can face while carrying out tasks and how easily users can cope with a problem when facing it. In this study, the utilization of PDA was analyzed in terms of its basic functions such as information input and the output and use of wanted information. Based on the analysis results, a better alternative for uses of PDA will be presented.

This paper describes a design and implementation of diabetes management system based on PDA in the wireless Internet. Our system is a 3-Tier Client/Server model with client, server, middleware, and DB. The client has each PDA for patients and for doctors related to diabetics. The one is used for patients to manage this disease by themselves with, and the other is used for the doctors to monitoring the patients' data with. The server receive the daily data measured by the patients through wireless network, middleware mediate between an client(PDA) and server. As the result of implementation of the system, we expected that it manages to diabetic patients continually and systematically.

최근 차세대 디지털 정보 기기인 PDA의 발전에 따른 멀티미디어 서비스가 본격적으로 상용화 되고 있다. 그러나 휴대성이 강조된 PDA에는 유선 인터넷 환경과 달리 멀티미디어 스트림의 재생과 편집은 이동 통신의 낮은 대역폭, 고용량의 멀티미디어 데이터, PDA에의 처리 능력 등의 여러 한계점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 스트림 엔진인 Transcore와 멀티미디어 데이터 편집 툴인 VIP를 기반으로 하여 다수의 멀티미디어 스트림을 제작하고 PDA에서 편집 및 재생 하기 위한 프리젠테이션 편집기를 연구하고 최적의 서비스를 지원하기 위한 방법을 살피고자 한다.

최근 무선 인터넷 및 다양한 콘텐츠들을 지원할 수 있는 PDA 장비들이 개발되고 있으며, 향후 무선통신분야에서 많은 연구 개발이 필요하다. 또한 PDA 기반의 지리정보시스템에 대한 개발 제품들은 많이 있지만, 아직 개선되어야 할 기능들이 많이 있다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 PDA 환경에 적합한 경량화된 제이미 수치지도 포맷을 새롭게 제안하고, 이를 Win/CE기반에 디스플레이할 수 있는 GIS 라이브러리를 구현하였다. 현재는 GPS 장비와 개발된 GIS 도구들을 통합하여 PDA 환경에서 지도출력이 가능하며, 속도와 다양한 기능들에 대한 추가 개발을 진행하고 있다.

본 논문에서는 PDA 용 임베디드 리눅스 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. 개발을 위한 Host PC 를 구축하고 PDA 시스템에 적합한 크로스 컴파일러(Cross compiler), PDA 와의 터미널을 위한 미니컴(minicom)등을 이용한 개발 환경을 구성한다. 본 논문에서 PDA 시스템에 리눅스를 포팅 하여 PDA 임베디드 리눅스 시스템으로 설계 및 구현한다.

Due to the inherent handy nature of PDA system, our hearing test system can be easily performed in a local environment and consequently the measured audiometric data are stored and queryed via a built-in a PDA database system.

인터넷 서비스를 제공하는 개인 및 기업에서는 서버를 관리하기 위해 수시로 모니터링을 해야 한다 서버에 문제가 발생시, 원거리 등 환경 요인으로 작업 여건이 마련되지 않는 상황이라 할지라도 신속한 해결을 위한 수단이 필요하다. 하지만, 환경적 문제점으로 인해 신속히 대처한다는 것은 어려운 일이다. 최근 PDA와 무선 인터넷의 보급으로 PDA의 활용 사례를 많이 볼 수 있다. PDA는 소지하기 간편하고 다양한 미디어 및 정보 교류가 가능하므로 PDA를 통해서 리눅스 기반의 시스템을 원격지에서 손쉽게 제어, 관리할 수 있도록 하는 시스템을 제안한다.
