A questionnaire survey was at major entry points in Hallasan National Park(Eorimok and Youngsil). 237 random samples among the visitors on the way back home from their visit were chosen to represent general visitor population. As for the results, visitors' recreational satisfaction level with the area was relatively high. The majority of the visitors were satisfied with 20 uses and management related attributes provided by Hallasan National Park system. However, considering lack of sense of hygienic sanitary facilities, consequential deterioration of natural and cultural resources, and entrance fees as well as other costs, there needs to be a managerial priority on visiter service.

  • Organizations worldwide make efforts to develop their management systems for business functions. The representatives of management systems include quality management system (QMS), environmental management system (EMS) and occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS). Implementing EMS and/or OHSMS in addition to QMS often requires integration of separate management systems in alignment with the organization's strategies and goals. Through the questionnaire survey on Korean marine equipment enterprises, this paper deals with the operational practices of management systems and analyzes perceptions about integrated management system (IMS). We found out the degree of perception is not sufficient enough to prepare background for IMS in Korean marine equipment enterprises. The results contribute to well understanding and successfully implementing IMS.

  • The popularity of question answering communities such as Yahoo! Answers and Naver Knowledge-iN and increasing doubts about the competence of lay information providers prompted this study to explore answerers' strategies to provide a credible answer in a question answering community. Forty-four active answerers in Yahoo! Answers were included in this study, and interviews were conducted through email, chat, and over the telephone. This study identified a set of information sources the answerers used, an array of important strategies to provide a credible answer, and their perception of self-claimed expertise. Implications of results were discussed in the context of user instruction.

  • Understanding visit motivation to parks is important when attempting to improve visitor satisfaction and their intentions to revisit and recommend. The objective of this study is to not only examine the impact of visitors' motivations on their satisfaction, but also study the effect of their satisfaction on their behavioral intentions. This objective will be fulfilled using regression models populated with data from the Gyeryongsan National Park (GNP). Onsite surveys were collected during April and May 2017 at the Donghaksa, Gapsa, Cheonjeong, Sinwonsa, Sangsin, and Sutonggol information centers of the GNP (N=224). The results of this study indicate that the visitors' motivations influenced their visit satisfaction, which, in turn, impacted their behavioral intentions. The study's findings will help park managers and policy-makers establish effective park management strategies and enhance visitors' experiences.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic visitor and trail use data for developing trail management strategies in Korean national park system. To accomplish the purpose of the study, a questionnaire survey was carried on at two different national parks(Bukhansan and Chiaksan National Park). As for the results, root and rock exposure on the trails and trail width expansion were perceived as major types of trail impact. In addition, majority of respondents pointed to construct or maintain facilities on steep paths and repair trail surface as for the priority of trail maintenance. In conclusion, the priority of trail management and maintenance has to be differently determined based on each trail conditions because visitor impacts on the trails vary along with site-specific and activity-specific differences. Findings of the study expect to be used as fundamentals in trail management strategy making for Korean national parks.
