A dimensional supply of petroleum fuels and increased competition for petroleum products has made the conservation of energy in grain drying an important cost and management factor. Research on solar grain drying is directed toward utilization of a renewable energy source as an alternative to petroleum fuels for drying. There are many technical and economic problems in accepting and adopting solor energy as a new energy source for grain drying. The purpose of this study are to assess the state of the art of solar grain drying and to find out the problems by reviewing literatures available. The results obtained may be summarized as follows; 1.It may be considered that the weather conditions in October of Korea was satisfactory for the forced natural air and solar heated air drying. 2. Solar energy is considered more applicable to low-temperature, In-storage drying systems than to high-temperature, high-speed drying systems. In-storage drying systems require low levels of heat input. The costs of collector systems to provide low temperature are considerably cheaper than for high-temperature systems. 3. Tubular type collector made of polyvinyle film seems to be the most practical at this stage of development and black-painted bare-plate collectors mounted on the outside of a typical, round, low-temperature drying bin can supply an appreciable amount of the energy efficiently needed for low-temperature grain drying at a lower cost. 4. All of the grains in solar drying tests was successfully dried up to safe storaged moisture levels without significant spoilage. Drying rates with solar system were faster than natural air drying systems, and usually a little slower than similar low-temperature electric drying systems. 5. Final grain moisture levels were lower in solar tests than in natural air tests, and generally higher than in tests with continuous heated air. 6. Savings of energy by use of solar collectors ranged from 23% to 55%, compared to the natural and electric ileated air drying systems. However, total drying cost effectiteness tvas not significant. Therefore, it is desirable that solar grain dry-ing sIFstems tvhich could be suitable for multiple heating purposes on farms shouldbe developed. 7. Supplemental heat with solar radiation did little to reduce air flow requirementsbut refuced drying time and increased the p\ulcornerobability of successful drying duringdrying poriod.

This paper introduces novel functionally integrated logic elements which are conceptuallized for large scale integrated circuits. Efforts are made to minimize the gate size as well as to reduce the operational voltage, without sacrificing the speed performance of the gates. The process used was a rather conventional collector diffusion isolation(CDI) process. New gate structures are formed by merging several transistors of a gate in the silicon substrate. Thested elements are CML(Current Mode Logic) and EECL (Emitter-to-Emitter Coupled Logic)gates. The obtained experimental results are power-delay product of 6~11pJ and delay time/gate of 1.6~1.8 ns, confirming the possibility of these novel gate structures as a VLSI-candidate.
We designed and fabricated a highly sensitive magnetotransistor which employes the emitter region as a Hall plate for inducing Hall voltage across the emitter. The Hall voltage modulates the emitter basic junction bias on both sides of the emitter so that a large collector current difference is resulted. The specially designed $p^+$ ring around the emitter enhances accumulation of drifted electrons in the emitter and thus the Hall voltage. A relative sensitivity of 240/tesla is measured by operating the device in the saturation mode.

A SSIMT(Suppressed Sidewall Injection Magnetotransistor) sensor with high linearity is presented in this thesis. The prototype is fabricated by using the Hynix 0.6$\mu\textrm{m}$ P-substrate twin-well double poly three-metal CMOS Process. The fabricated SSIMT shows that variation of the collector current is extremely linear by varing the magnetic induction from -200mT to 200mT at I$\_$B/=500${\mu}$A, V$\_$CE/=2V and V$\_$SUB/=5V. The relative sensitivity is up to 120%/T. At B = 0, magnetic offset is about 79mT, there relative sensitivity is 30.5%/T. The nonlinearity of the fabricated SSIMT is measured about 1.4%.

Deinking is a series of unit operations designed to detach ink from cellulose fibers and separate the dispersed ink from the pulp slurry. Deinking chemicals are process aids that enable expensive mill equipment used in these unit operations to operate more efficiently. This paper presents an overview of ONP deinking efficiency with cellulolytic enzymes and synthetic collector in low alkalinity process. The deinking efficiency of old news print even in low alkalinity condition was enhanced with enzyme contained complex agent. The brightness of deinked pulp was increased with less residual ink particles and yield of deinked pulp was improved compared to the deinked pulp of conventional alkaline method.
Adsorption mechanisms of diisobutyl dithiophosphinate (DIBDTPI) and diisobutyl monothiophosphinate (DIBMTPI) on gold and gold-silver alloys (80:20 and 50:50) have been studied. The adsorption mechanisms on gold-silver alloys can be explained by the EC mechanism involving an electron transfer step and a chemical reaction step. Thus, the adsorption should be controlled by the E of the electrochemical oxidation of the electrode involved and the pK of the metal collector complex. Both di- and mono- thiophosphinate adsorb on 50:50 Au-Ag alloy at lower potential than on 80:20 Au-Ag alloy surface. There are no significant differences between the reactivities of DIBDTPI and DIBMTPI with precious metals except that the dithio- compound can be oxidized to dimer on gold at high potentials, while the monothio- homologue cannot. In this regard, DIBDTPI may be a better surface active reagent for pure gold than DIBMTPI.
Ion flotation is an efficient method to remove metal ions from aqueous solution. In this work, ion flotation was applied to calcium removal from aqueous solution. The parameters used included sodium stearate (SS) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as collectors, 1-butanol and 1-propanol as frothers, pH, and air-flow rate. An L16 orthogonal array was chosen according to the mentioned factors and levels, and experimental tests were conducted according to the Taguchi orthogonal array. The results showed that all of the factors except one had significant effect on the flotation performance. The percentage contribution of parameters showed that type of frother and type of collector made the greatest (43.14%) and the lowest (9.86%) contribution, respectively. In optimal conditions, the recovery of Ca (II) ion was 45.67%. Also, the results illustrated that the Taguchi method could predict calcium removal from aqueous solution by ion flotation with 2.63%. This study showed that the use of ion flotation was an effective method for Ca (II) ion removal from aqueous solution.

This paper addresses a fully-integrated low phase noise X-band oscillator fabricated using a carbon-doped InGaP heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) GaAs process with a cutoff frequency of 53.2 GHz and maximum oscillation frequency of 70 GHz. The oscillator circuit consists of a negative resistance generating circuit with a base inductor, a resonating emitter circuit with a microstrip line, and a buffering resistive collector circuit with a tuning diode. The oscillator exhibits 4.33 dBm output power and achieves -127.8 dBc/Hz phase noise at 100 kHz away from a 10.39 GHz oscillating frequency, which benchmarks the lowest reported phase noise achieved for a monolithic X-band oscillator. The oscillator draws a 36 mA current from a 6.19 V supply with 47.1 MHz of frequency tuning range using a 4 V change. It occupies a $0.8mm{\times}0.8mm$ die area.

Spinel $LiMn_2O_4$ has become appealing because manganese is inexpensive and environmentally benign. In general, cathodes for lithium ion batteries include carbon as a conductive agent that provides electron transfer between the active material and the current collector. In this work, we selected Acetylene Black and Super P Black as conductive agents, and then carried out their comparative investigation for the performances of the $Li/LiMn_2O_4$ cells using different conductive agents with different particle size. In addition, their electrochemical impedance characteristic of $Li/Mn_2O_4$ cells using different conductive agents is effectively identified through a.c. impedance technique. As a consequence, $Li/LiMn_2O_4$ cells with Super P Black show better electrochemical performances ascribed to the significant contribution of feasible ionic conduction due to larger particle size than those with Acetylene Black.
