In this paper, the wireless transmission module is developed to transmit oxygen saturation(SpO2) signal, acquired from bio-signal measuring module, to PC. This wireless transmission module is designed with closed type protocol instead of open type protocol such as a zigbee or a bluetooth, considering of the security of personal medical informations. The display software is also developed to display transmitted SpO2 signals by various type data and graph without information loss for a emergency transfer.

The electronic and optical properties of Indium Zinc Tin Oxide (IZTO) thin films using gas environment were investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and reflection electron energy loss spectroscopy (REELS). REELS spectra revealed that the band gaps of IZTO thin films are 3.26, 3.07, and 3.46 eV for water mixed with oxygen, argon mixed with oxygen, and air environments, respectively. The measured band gaps by REELS are consistent with the optical band gaps obtained by UV-Spectrometer. The optical properties represented by the dielectric function $\mathfrak{m}$, the refractive index n, the extinction coefficient k, and the transmission coefficient T of the IZTO thin films with different gas environments were determined from a quantitative analysis of REELS spectra. The calculated transmission from quantitative analysis of REELS spectra shows good agreement with transmission measured by UV-spectrometer. The transmission values of 89% and low electrical resistivity of $3.55{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ have been achieved for argon mixed with oxygen which indicates that the gas enviroment plays an important role in improving the electronic and optical properties of films.
The effect of high energy B ion implantation and initial oxygen concentration upon defect formation and gettering of metallic impurities in Czochralski silicon wafer has been studied by applying DLTS( Deep Level Transient Spectroscopy), SIMS(Secondary ton Mass Spectroscopy), BMD (Bulk Micro-Defect) analysis and TEM(Transmission Electron Microscopy). DLTS results show the signal of the deep levels not only in as-implanted samples but also in low and high temperature annealed samples. Vacancy-related deep levels in as- implanted samples were changed to metallic impurities-related deep levels with increase of annealing temperature. In the case of high temperature anneal, by showing the lower deep level concentration with increase of initial oxygen concentration, high initial oxygen concentration seems to be more effective compared with the lower initial oxygen one.
Three formulations were used to prepare the cellulose-based edible films consisting of hydrocolloid and lipids; film A made by coating method, films B and C by emulsion method, which were formed in a thin layer glass plate and then dried. Films A, B and C were all approximately 0.03 mm thick with 1-3% moisture, 59-68% lipid, and almost whitish color. Film A was better in tensile strength, and lipids affected water vapor permeability on three films, in which films A and B did not differ significantly. Water vapor permeability of film A did not change but those of films B and C decreased significantly after storage for 8 weeks at $-15^{\circ}C$. Oxygen transmission rate and oxygen permeability of films A and C did not differ and changed significantly after 8-week storage at $-15^{\circ}C$. Under scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation on the structural characteristics of each film, film A indicated relatively uniform and smooth surface coatings of beeswax, while films B and C had individual lipid crystals and could be discerned. As a result, film A was better than films B and C in respect of physical properties, but the selection of useful film depended upon which physical property was more functional. Moreover, it was desirable in some cases for using films B and C because of their easiness of preparation and cold storage durability. It will be further needed to investigate how to formulate films B and C to have more unique surface characteristics, and to reduce water vapor and oxygen transmission rates.
Hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α) is one of the master regulators of immune and metabolic cellular functions. HIF-1α, a transcriptional factor whose activity is closely related to oxygen levels, is a target for understanding infectious disease control. Several studies have demonstrated that HIF-1α plays an important role during the infectious process, while its role in relation to parasite virulence has not been addressed. In this work, we studied the expression levels of HIF-1α and related angiogenic vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) in human macrophages infected with promastigotes of hypo- or hyper-virulent Leishmania major human isolates. L. major parasites readily subverted host macrophage functions for their survival and induced local oxygen consumption at the site of infection. In contrast to hypo-virulent parasites that induce high HIF-1α expression levels, hyper-virulent L. major reduced HIF-1α expression in macrophages under normoxic or hypoxic conditions, and consequently impeded the expression of VEGF-A mRNA. HIF-1α may play a key role during control of disease chronicity, severity, or outcome.

Intake silencers of high performance and with less pressure drop are developed for a household oxygen generator. First, the acoustic power of the target oxygen generator are experimentally evaluated according to ISO code. Then, the transmission loss of and the flow characteristics inside the existing intake silencer are predicted and analyzed. On a basis of these results, two intake silencers are proposed, which are designed to induce the swirling flow inside the intake silencer and thus to reduce the flow loss. The predicted TL and the pressure drop for these two new silencers are compared to the existing one, which shows that the proposed ones have higher TLs as well as less pressure drop. The reason for these improvements are explained by investigating the flow characteristics of the new silencers in detail.

High quality indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films have been prepared by DC magnetron sputtering technique. By controlling the deposition parameters such as substrate temperature and oxygen flow rate, we were able to minimize the negative ion damage during the deposition. Films pr데ared under such conditions were found to posses an excel]ent electrical resistivity of $1.6\times10^{-4}{\Omega}cm$ and also found to have a optical transmission above 90%. We also observe that, increasing the oxygen now rate above 4 sccm leads to an increase in electrical resistivity of the films while the transmission was found to saturate with the increase in the oxygen gas flow.

An oxygen free copper severely-deformed by eight cycles (an equivalent strain of $\~6.4$) of accumulative roll-bonding (ARB) was annealed at various temperatures ranging from 100 to $300^{\circ}C$. The annealed copper was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and tensile & hardness test. TEM observation revealed that the ultrafine grains developed by the ARB still remained up to $150^{\circ}C$, however above $200^{\circ}C$ they were replaced by equiaxed and coarse grains due to an occurrence of the static recrystallization. Tensile strength and hardness of the copper decreased slightly with the annealing temperature up to $150^{\circ}C$, however they dropped largely above $200^{\circ}C$. Annealing characteristics of the copper were compared with those of a commercially pure aluminum processed by ARB and subsequently annealed.

The microstructure of various shapes of stacking fault pyramids (SFPs) formed in multiple implant/anneal Separation by Implanted Oxygen (SIMOX) material were investigated by plan-view and cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy. In the multiple implant/anneal SIMOX, the defects in the top silicon layer are confined at the interface of the buried oxide layer at a density of ${\sim}10^6\;cm^{-2}$. The dominant defects are perfect and imperfect SFPs. The perfect SFPs were formed by the expansion and interaction of four dissociated dislocations on the {111} pyramidal planes. The imperfect SFPs show various shapes of SFPs, including I-, L-, and Y-shapes. The shape of imperfect SFPs may depend on the number of dissociated dislocations bounded to the top of the pyramid and the interaction of Shockley partial dislocations at each edge of {111} pyramidal planes.
