This system consists of embedded linux system of low power while driving the car which uses OBD-II protocols and zigbee communication interface from CAN communication of car system to self-diagnosis embedded system of car. Finally, low power embedded system has a lot of application and OBD-II protocols for embedded linux system and CAN communication which get sensor informations of car control sensor system while driving the car.
In order to investigate the effects of copper alloy on abalone physiology, we studied survival rate, respiration, excretion rate, and heavy metal accumulation in each organ of adults and spats. The survival rate of spats and adults showed 27-60% and 63-83% respectively, higher survival rate in adults. In particular, 100% of copper panel led to lowest survival rate and there was no sharp distinction according to copper alloy composition. The respiration rate and excretion rate of ammonia nitrogen was $1.81mgO_2/g$ D.W./h and 0.43 mg $NH_4-N/g$ D.W./h respectively at 100% of copper panel. In other words, there was a high significant difference at the level, but no significant difference at other test levels (P < 0.05). The atomic ratio (0: N) hit the lowest at the 100% of copper panel showing 3.79 and no significant differences were seen among other test groups with 6.57-7.18 of a very low range. This means that the species might have undergone nutritional stress. In case of copper accumulation, the 100% copper panel group showed the highest level in hepatopancreas and muscle showing 6.91 mg/kg and 1.60 mg/kg respectively but the rest of groups showed similar levels. Zinc accumulation raised at Cu-Zn alloy panel had high significance showing 18.50 mg/kg and 1.10 mg/kg in hepatopancreas and muscle respectively (P < 0.05). To sum up, a cage net made of 100% pure copper is expected to have a negative effect on abalone in light of survival rate, heavy metal accumulation, and atomic ratio (0: N). Moreover, given that the substratum used for the high adhesive species and nutritious stress that is represented through the atomic ratio need to be considered, the copper alloy net is thought not to be suitable for abalone aquaculture.
In this Paper. we describe a home health care service using electronic health questionnaires and routine checkup of vital signs Including ECG (Electrocardiography) , blood pressure. and SpO$_2$ (Oxygen Saturation) . This system is for patients at home with chronic diseases, discharged Patients, or any normal people for the Prevention of disease The service requires a home health care terminal and a PC with Interned connection installed at Patient home. The distance health care management center is equipped with a vital-sign and questionnaire interpreter as well as database, Web, and notification servers with UMS (Unified Messaging System). Participating Physician can access the servers at the center using a Web browser running on a PC available to them at any time. These components are linked together through various kinds of data and voice communication channels including PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) . CATV(Community Antenna TV) . Interned. and mobile communication network. Following the Physician's direction given to a Patient. he or she uses the home health care terminal to collect vital signs and fill out the questionnaire. When the terminal automatically transmits these data to the management center. the data interpreter and servers at the center process the information fo1lowing the Protocol implemented on the system. Physicians can retrieve and review data corresponding to their Patients and send back their diagnostic reports to the center. UMS at the center delivers the physician 's recommendation to the corresponding patient through the notification server. Patients can also reprieve and review their own records as well as diagnostic reports from physicians. The system Provides a new way of collecting diagnostic information and delivering doctor's recommendation to patients at home for their health management. Future works are needed in the development of new technology for measurements and interpretations of various vital signs .
This study is attempted to correct an error of electronic blood pressure meter with an optical sensor. In general, for a hospitalized patient, ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiration are basically measured to monitor the patient's condition. Opening of a blood vessel after it is occluded by pressurizing the cuff influences the blood flow of peripheral blood vessels as well as oscillation changes in the cuff. Blood vessels are occluded and peripheral blood flow disappears at cuff pressure above the examinee's blood pressure, while blood vessels are opened and peripheral blood flow appears again at cuff pressure under the examinee's blood pressure. Then Disappear-Appear Point Length(DAPL) of peripheral blood flow can be judged with the signal of peripheral blood flow, thus is available as a factor of error correction for electronic blood pressure meter. Also, systolic or diastolic blood pressure can be corrected with Appear-Point-Pressure(APP) of cuff pressure at a point where blood flow occurs and Appear-Maximum Pressure(AMP) of cuff pressure at the maximum amplitude point of peripheral blood flow after peripheral blood flow appears again. For verification, 27 examinees were selected, and their blood value was obtained through experimental procedure of 4 stages including induction of blood pressure change. The examinees were divided into two groups of experimental group and control group, regression analysis was conducted for experimental group, and correction of a blood pressure error was verified with optical signal by applying the regression equation calculated in experimental group to control group. As an experimental result, mean of the whole measurement errors was 5mmHg or more, which did not meet the standard fur blood pressure meter. As a result of correcting blood pressure measurements with data of DAPL, APP, and AMP as drawn out of PPG signal, systolic blood pressure, mean blood pressure, and diastolic blood pressure were $-0.6{\pm}4.4mmHg,\;-1.0{\pm}3.9mmHg$ and $-1.3{\pm}5.4mmHg$, respectively, indicating that mean of the whole measurement errors was greatly improved, and standard deviation was decreased.
Fifteen microbes have been isolated from Jangja pond in Kuri-Si, Kyeonggi-Do. Among them, two strains showed excellent COD removal from wastewater, which were named Pseudomonas sp. BLP2052 and Flavobacterium sp. BLP20515, respectively. Optimal pH and temperature for the cell growth were 7.0 and $30^{\circ}C$ for both strains. Pseudomonas sp. BLP2052 and Flavobacterium sp. BLP20515 was applied to the reactor to treat wastewater and 66.0% and 65.7% COD (chemical oxygen demand) removal was achieved, respectively. Comparing these results to the case of applying mixed microbes present in Jangja pond, COD removal rate was 15% less. But when adding the selected microbes to the wastewater containing mixed microbes, COD removal rate increased by 5%. After 84 hour operation, we achieved 85.6% COD removal. When inhibitors were added less than 100 ppm, during the microbial wastewater treatment, Fe, Zn, Al, phenol and Cr influenced microbial activity more deterioratively in order. In the case of over 300 pm, Cr, Fe, Zn, Al and phenol showed severe deteriorative effect in order.
This is a report on four cases of the lobar emphysema due to proximal bronchial obstruction in the Department of Thoracic Surgery, Hanyang University Hospital, during the period of three and half years from 1972 to 1975. First case, a two years old male child was referred to our Department with the lobar emphysema of the lower lobe of the right lung with pneumonia. This emphysema was developed after aspiration of a piece of peanut. Bronchoscopy revealed that the bronchus of the right lower lobe was obstructed with the foreign body, however removal of the peanut through bronchoscope was not attempted because of corruption and softening of the peanut. The removal of the peanut by bronchotomy was performed after subsiding of acute phase of pulmonary infection. Postoperative course was uneventful and the emphysema was disappeared. Second case, a twenty months old female baby was referred to our Department with lobar emphysema of the lower lobe of the left lung. The emphysema was suddenly developed with coughing and dyspneic symptoms and the diagnosis was made roentgenologically. She gave a history of reccurrent infections of the respiratory tract after birth. Bronchoscopy showed an obstruction of the left main bronchus with the growing of fibrinous tissue on the bronchial mucosa. The protruded tissue in the left main bronchus taken out about O.8ml with biopsy forceps for histological examination. After this procedure, the emphysema of the left lung was disappeared. Histological finding was reported to be a chronic inflammatory granulation tissue. Third case, a two and half years old male child was referred to our Department with roentgenological lobar emphysema. Two weeks prior to admission he had an episode of sudden onset of coughing attack with dyspnea. Bronchoscopy revealed that the bronchus of the left lower lobe was obstructed with a mass which was strongly suspected of a neoplastic tissue. At operation, there was found a perforation of enlarged tuberculous lymph node in the bronchus of the left lower lobe and protrusion of granulation tissue into the bronchus. Ruptured orifice on themembranous wall of the left lower lobe bronchus was closed with interrupted suture after the" removal of a perforated tuberculous lymph node. Postoperative course was uneventful and antituberculous chemotherapy was given. Fourth case, a 47 years old man was admitted to our Department with the complaint of severe dyspnea of few months duration. Twenty years ago, he had a history of lung tuberculosis and was treated for many years. X-ray examination including tomography and bronchography revealed that the upper lobe of the right lung was destroyed with cavities, the lower lobe was completely shrunk, and the right middle lobe was strongly overdistended with narrowing bronchial trees. Differential bronchospirometry and lung scanning confirmed that the respiratory function of the affected lung was impaired almost totally. The value of the right lung was calculated on 6% of oxygen uptake, 1% of Minute volume, and 32% of vital capacity. The right pneumonectomy was performed under the careful consideration of anesthetic and surgical procedures. Postoperative course was uneventful and the respiratory function was improved nearly to the normal level.evel.

The culture condition and medium composition for the enhanced mycelial growth of Lepista nuda DGUM 26501 were investigated. The optimal temperature and pH for the mycelial growth were $24^{\circ}C$ and $7.0\~8.0$, respectively. The partial pressure of oxygen for the enhanced mycelial growth was more than $10\%\;O_2$. When Czapek-Dox medium was used as a minimal medium, manitol and xylitol were very good carbon sources. Organic nitrogen sources were better than inorganic ones for mycelial growth. As the nitrogen source tested, com steep liquor, soytone and protease peptone were the best as a source of organic nitrogen sources. When ammonium phosphate as phosphorus sources was used, the enhanced mycelial growth was shown. Nicotinic acid was proved to be the most appropriate source of vitamin. After the mycelia of L. nuda DGUM 26501 was cultivated at $24^{\circ}C$ for 10 days in LNM broth (pH 7.0), the activities of extracellular enzyme were determined. The specific activity of $\alpha-amylase$ was much higher than those of other enzymes. However, little or no enzyme activities of $\beta-glucosidase$, CMCase, laccase and lipase were found.

Quantum beam technology has been expected to develop breakthroughs for nanotechnology during the third basic plan of science and technology (2006~2010). Recently, Green- or Life Innovations has taken over the national interests in the fourth basic science and technology plan (2011~2015). The NIMS (National Institute for Materials Science) has been conducting the corresponding mid-term research plans, as well as other national projects, such as nano-Green project (Global Research for Environment and Energy based on Nanomaterials science). In this lecture, the research trends in Japan and NIMS are firstly reviewed, and the typical achievements are highlighted over key nanotechnology fields. As one of the key nanotechnologies, the quantum beam research in NIMS focused on synchrotron radiation, neutron beams and ion/atom beams, having complementary attributes. The facilities used are SPring-8, nuclear reactor JRR-3, pulsed neutron source J-PARC and ion-laser-combined beams as well as excited atomic beams. Materials studied are typically fuel cell materials, superconducting/magnetic/multi-ferroic materials, quasicrystals, thermoelectric materials, precipitation-hardened steels, nanoparticle-dispersed materials. Here, we introduce a few topics of neutron scattering and ion beam nanofabrication. For neutron powder diffraction, the NIMS has developed multi-purpose pattern fitting software, post RIETAN2000. An ionic conductor, doped Pr2NiO4, which is a candidate for fuel-cell material, was analyzed by neutron powder diffraction with the software developed. The nuclear-density distribution derived revealed the two-dimensional network of the diffusion paths of oxygen ions at high temperatures. Using the high sensitivity of neutron beams for light elements, hydrogen states in a precipitation-strengthened steel were successfully evaluated. The small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) demonstrated the sensitive detection of hydrogen atoms trapped at the interfaces of nano-sized NbC. This result provides evidence for hydrogen embrittlement due to trapped hydrogen at precipitates. The ion beam technology can give novel functionality on a nano-scale and is targeting applications in plasmonics, ultra-fast optical communications, high-density recording and bio-patterning. The technologies developed are an ion-and-laser combined irradiation method for spatial control of nanoparticles, and a nano-masked ion irradiation method for patterning. Furthermore, we succeeded in implanting a wide-area nanopattern using nano-masks of anodic porous alumina. The patterning of ion implantation will be further applied for controlling protein adhesivity of biopolymers. It has thus been demonstrated that the quantum beam-based nanotechnology will lead the innovations both for nano-characterization and nano-fabrication.
Indium tin oxide(ITO) substrate is one of the key components of the touch panel and its sputtering process is dependent on the characteristics of various touch panel, such as driving type, size of panel, and the intended use. In this study, we optimized the sputtering condition of ITO film on polycarbonate(PC) by using in-line sputtering method for the application to resistive type touch panel. We varied the $O_2$/Ar gas ratio, sputtering power, pressure and moving speed of substrate to deposit ITO films at room temperature with the base vacuum of $1{\times}10^{-6}\;torr$. The sheet resistance and its uniformity, the transmittance, the thickness of the ITO film on PC substrate are investigated and analyzed. The optimized process parameters are as follows : the sheet resistance is $500{\pm}50\;{\Omega}$/□, the uniformity of sheet resistance is lower than 10%, the transmittance is higher than 87 % at 550nm, and the thickness is about 120~250. The optimized deposition conditions by in-line sputtering method can be applied to the actual mass production for the ITO film manufacturing technology.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of ilioinguinal-hypogastric nerve blocks(IHNB) and caudal block in producing post-orchiopexy and post-heniorrhaphy analgesia in children. Forty consenting healthy children, ages 3~10yr, were randomly assigned to receive caudal bupitvacaine (0.125%, 0.5ml/kg), or IHNB bupivacaine (0.25%, 0.3 ml/kg). Blocks were performed following the induction of general anesthesia, be fore the operation. Pre-anesthetic medication in form of atropine 0.01 mg/kg, droperidol 0.05 mg/kg were given intramuscularly one hour before induction to 40 children. Children were induced with thiopental sodium 5 mg/kg and succinylcholine 1 mg/kg intravenously. Anesthesia was maintained with oxygen-nitrous oxide ($FiO_2$ 0.3) and ethrane. When the patients stabilized after induction. IHNB was done in the supine position and caudal block was done in the lateral position. The local anaesthetic was injected after negative aspiration. Postoperative pain was assessed with face pain rating scale (RPRS) at rest on discharge of recovery room, and 5 hours after discharge of recovery room, and the "red and white" visual analogue scale (VAS) at rest and mobilization from supine to sitting position on discharge of recovery room, and 5 hours after discharge of recovery room. Post-operative recovery was quiet and comfortable, without side effect. Relief of ain was complete in both IHNB group and caudal group. Surgeons, parents and recovery room personnel were satisfied. There were no surgical or anesthetic complications. In our study, the postpoerative pain scores were similar in both IHNB group and caudal group. IN conclusion, we found that both IHNB and caudal blocks before the start of surgery for orchiopexy & herniorrhaphy are safe and effective in controlling the postoperative pain of children.
