W 섬유강화(纖維强化) Al 합금기지(合金基地) 복합재(複合材)의 열(熱)cycle에 따른 계면거동(界面擧動)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on Interfacial Phenomena of Tungsten Fiber Reinforced Aluminium Matrix Composite under Thermal Cycles)

  • The reaction layer formed at interface between matrix and fiber has significant effects on the mechanical properties and behaviors of deformation m FRM. In this study, the mechanical properties and interfacial behaviors according to surface finishing on the fibers and according to heat treatment in FRM were investigated. FRM was fibricated by diffusion bonding method. In W/Al alloy composite and W/Al composite, W of which was coated with $WO_3$, the heat treatment was carried out thermal cycling method from 373K to 673K. In W/Al composite, W of which was coated with $WO_3$, growth of interface layer was hardly occured in spite of the increasing various thermal cycles. It was exhibited that oxidized W/Al composite were higher strength than non-oxidezed W/Al composite with the increasing thermal cycles. The compounds of fiber/matrix interface were analyzed into $WAl_{12}$, $WAl_7$, and $AlWO_3$, respectivly. Therefore the interfacial compounds of fiber/matrix seriously affected the mechanical properties and behaviors of deformation in FRM.

산화처리된 구리계 리드프레임과 EMC 사이의 접착력 측정 (Measurement of Adhesion Strength between Oxidized Cu-based Leadframe and EMC)

  • 본래 약한 구리계 리드프레임/EMC(Epoxy Molding Compound) 계면의 접착력은 솔더 리플로우 (solder reflow) 공정 중에 종종 박형 플라스틱 패키지의 팝콘 균열 현상(popcorn-cracking phenomena)을 일으킨다. 본 연구에서는 리드프레임/EMC 계면의 접착력을 향상시키기 위하여 리드프레임을 알칼리 용액에 담궈 표면에 brown oxide를 형성시켰으며, EMC로 몰딩(molding)하여 SDCB(Sandwiched Double Cantilever Beam) 시편 및 SBN(Sandwiched Brazil-Nut) 시편을 준비하여 접착력을 측정하였다. 리드프레임의 brown oxide 처리는 미세한 바늘모양의 CuO 결정들을 리드프레임 표면에서 형성시켰으며, 리드프레임/EMC 계면의 접착력을 향상시켰다. 접착력의 향상은 산화층의 평균두께와 직접적인 관련이 있었다. 이는 미세한 바늘모양의 CuO 결정들이 EMC와 기계적인 고착(mechanical interlocking)을 하기 때문으로 생각된다.

Assessment of DMS photochemistry at Jeju Island During the Asian Oust-Storm Period of Spring 2001 : Comparison of Model Simulations with Field Observations

  • This study examines the influence of long-range transport of dust particles and air pollutants on both local/regional DMS oxidation chemistry and the distribution of sulfur compounds at Jeju Island (33.17$^{\circ}$ N. 126.10$^{\circ}$ E) during the Asian dust-storm(ADS) period in April 2001. The atmospheric concentrations of these sulfur species were measured at a ground station on Jeju Island. Korea as Part of the ACE-Asia intensive operation. Three ADS events were observed during the periods of 10-12, 13-14. and 25-26 April. respectively. The concentrations of DMS and CS$_2$ were higher during the ADS period than during the non-Asian-dust-storm (NADS) period. Conversely. a difference in SO$_2$ levels during the ADS period was not distinguishable from those during the NADS period. The diurnal variation pattern of DMS observed was largely different from that in the remote marine boundary layer. DMS loss by NO$_3$ in the atmospheric boundary layer was dominant due to significantly high NOx levels influenced by the long-range transport of pollutants from East Asia to Jeju Island The DMS maximum during the ADS period was observed in the late afternoon. The oceanic fluxes of DMS during the ADS and NADS periods were estimated to be 5.7$\pm$2.3 and 2.9 (+2.8/-1.5) mole m$^{-2}$ day$^{-1}$ . respectively. The contribution of oxidized DMS to SO$_2$ levels at Jeju Island during the study period was found to be insignificant.

$La_{2/3}Sr_{1/3}MnO_3SiO_2/Si(100)$ 박막의 저-자장 터널형 자기저항변화의 두께 의존성 (Thickness Dependence of Low-Field Tunnel-Type Magnetoresistance in$La_{2/3}Sr_{1/3}MnO_3SiO_2/Si(100)$ Thin Films)

  • Water-based 졸겔 증착법을 이용하여 디결정체 La$_{2}$3/Sr$_{1}$3/MnO$_3$(LSMO) 박막을 2000$\AA$ 두께의 열 산화층을 갖는 Si(100) 기판상에 제조하여 상온에서 LSMO박막의 두께변화 따른 저 자장영역(120 Oe)에서의 터널형 자기저항 변화를 연구하였다. XRD 회절분석 결과 단일상의 페롭스카이트 결정구조임을 알 수 있었으며 RBS 스펙트럼 분석결과 박막의 조성비 La:Sr:Mn:O는 0.67:0.33:1.0:3.0임을 알 수 있었다. LSMO 박막의 자성특성 측정결과 두께 증가에 따라 포화자화는 750$\AA$까지 급격한 증가현상을 보이다 150$\AA$을 기점으로 점차 감소하는 경향을 나타내고 있으며, 보자력은 800 $\AA$ 까지 급격한 증가를 보이다 일정해지는 경향을 볼 수 있었다. 저 자장영역에서의 터널형 자기저항 변화비는 약 1500 $\AA$의 두께 영역에서 최대값을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 저 자장 영역에서 LSMO 박막의 터널형 자기저항 변화비의 두께 의존성은 LSMO 박막과 Si 기판의 계면에 존재하는 상호확산 현상에 의한 dead layer의 존재 및 LSMO 박막의 열처리시 발생되는 열 격자 변형 효과로 설명하였다.

염분농도에 따른 콘크리트 모사 세공용액에서의 철근 부식특성 (Corrosion of Reinforcing Steel in Simulated Pore Solution with Chloride Ion)

  • 염분이 함유된 콘크리트 모사 세공용액 중에서의 철근 부식반응을 Tafel 분극법과 교류 임피던스법에 의해 비교 고찰하였으며, 철근 표면의 거칠기와 산화피막층에 의한 부식거동을 연구하였다. 전기화학적 교류 임피던스법에 의한 철근부식의 진단은 매우 유용하며, 제안된 모델과 실험결과가 잘 일치하였다. 염분농도가 증가할수록 부식전위는 cathodic-방향으로 이동하여 부식확률이 증가하였으며, 부식전류도 동일한 양상을 보였다. 철근 표면의 산화피막은 주사전자현미경과 AES (Auger electron spectroscopy)로 분석하였다. Torch로 15초간 열처리하여 형성된 철근표면의 산화피막은 오히려 철근부식을 촉진하였으며, 철근 표면의 거칠기가 증가할수록 부식속도는 증가하였다. 또한, 초기 콘크리트 모사세공 용액의 온도 증가는 철근 부식속도의 증가를 가져왔다.

산소-아세틸렌 토치의 조사각이 ZrB2-SiC UHTC 복합체 삭마 특성에 미치는 영향 (Ablation Behavior of ZrB2-SiC UHTC Composite under Various Flame Angle Using Oxy-Acetylene Torch)

  • In this work, the ablation behavior of monolith ZrB2-30 vol%SiC (Z30S) composites were studied under various oxy-acetylene flame angles. Typical oxidized microstructures (SiO2/SiC-depleted/ZrB2-SiC) were observed when the flame to Z30S was arranged vertically. However, formation of the outmost glassy SiO2 layer was hindered when the Z30S was tilted. The SiC-depleted region was fully exposed to air with reduced thickness when highly tilted. Traces of the ablated and island type SiO2 were observed at intermediate flame angles, which clearly verified the effect of flame angle on the ablation of the SiO2 layer. Furthermore, the observed maximum surface temperature of the Z30S gradually increased up to 2,200 ℃ proving that surface amorphous silica was continuously removed while monoclinic ZrO2 phase began to be exposed. A proposed ablation mechanism with respect to flame angles is discussed. This observation is expected to contribute to the design of complex-shaped UHTC applications for hypersonic vehicles and re-entry projectiles.

생체용 Ti합금의 산화거동에 미치는 Ta 및 Nb 첨가의 영향 (Effect of Alloy Addition (Ta, Nb) on Oxidation Behavior of cp-Ti for Biomaterials)

  • The oxidation behaviors of Ti-10Ta-10Nb alloy and Ti-6Al-4V alloy were studied in dry air atmosphere. Specimens were melted in consumable vacuum arc furnace and homogenized at $1050^{\circ}C$ for 24 h. Hot rolling was performed at $1000^{\circ}C$. Specimens of the alloys were oxidized as the temperature range $400~650^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. The oxidation behavior of the alloys was analysed by optical microscope, SEM/EDX, XRD, XPS and TGA. Immersion test was performed in 1% Lactic acid. In the microscope observation, oxide layer of Ti-10Ta-10Nb alloy was denser and thinner than Ti-6Al-4V's. The weight gains during the oxidation rapidly increased at the temperature above $600^{\circ}C$ in Ti-6Al-4V's alloy and$ 700^{\circ}C$ in Ti-10Ta-10Nb alloy. According to XRD results, oxide layers were composed of mostly $TiO_2$(rutile) phase. It was analysed that the passive film of the Ti alloys consisted of $TiO_2$ through X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analysis.

플라즈마 화학기상증착법으로 성장시킨 탄소나노튜브의 미세구조 분석 (Microstructure Analysis of Carbon Nanotubes Grown by Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition)

  • Plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition(PE-CVD) method has an advantage in synthesizing carbon nanotubes(CNTs) at lower temperature compared with thermal enhanced chemical vapor deposition(TE-CVD) method. In this study, CNTs was prepared by using PE-CVD method. The growth rate of CNT was faster more than 100 times on using Invar alloy than iron as catalyst. It was found that chrome silicide was formed at the interface between chrome layer and silicon substrate which should be considered in designing process. Nanoparticles of Invar catalyst were found oxidized on their surfaces with a depth of 10 m. Microstructure was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, scanning transmission electron microscopy, and energy dispersive x-ray spectrometry. Based on the result of analysis, growth mechanism at an initial stage was suggested.

Al 소재의 방열특성 향상을 위한 미세조직 제어 연구 (Control of Nano-Scaled Surface Microstructure of Al Sample for Improving Heat Release Ability)

  • In this study, the control of microstructure for increasing surface roughness of Al with an electro-chemical reaction and a post treatment is systematically investigated. The Al specimen is electro-chemically treated in an electrolyte. In condition of the post treatment at $100^{\circ}C$ for 10 min, a change of the surface microstructure occur at 50V (5 min), and a oxidized layer is at 400V, to which lead a decreasing surface roughness. The minimum temperature of the post treatment for a change of microstructure is $80^{\circ}C$. Moreover, in the condition of 300V (5 min), the electro-chemical reaction is followed by the post treatment at $100^{\circ}C$, the critical enduring time for the change of microstructure is 3 min. The longer post treatment time leads to the rougher surface. The treated Al specimen demonstrate better heat release ability owing to the higher surface roughness than the non-treated Al.

극한 환경 마이크로 화학센서용 다결정 3C-SiC 다이오드 제작과 그 특성 (Fabrication of polycrystalline 3C-SiC diode for harsh environment micro chemical sensors and their characteristics)

  • This paper describes the fabrication and characteristics of polycrystalline 3C-SiC thin film diodes for extreme environment applications, in which the this thin film was deposited onto oxidized Si wafers by APCVD using HMDS In this work, the optimized growth temperature and HMDS flow rate were $1,100^{\circ}C$ and 8sccm, respectively. A Schottky diode with a Au, Al/poly 3C-SiC/$SiO_2$/Si(n-type) structure was fabricated and its threshold voltage ($V_d$), breakdown voltage, thickness of depletion layer, and doping concentration ($N_D$) values were measured as 0.84V, over 140V, 61nm, and $2.7{\times}10^{19}cm^2$, respectively. To produce good ohmic contact, Al/3C-SiC were annealed at 300, 400, and $500^{\circ}C$ for 30min under a vacuum of $5.0{\times}10^{-6}$Torr. The obtained p-n junction diode fabricated by poly 3C-SiC had similar characteristics to a single 3C-SiC p-n junction diode.
