The nuclear power plant construction project is large-scale, has various stakeholders and computer system, and is produced and managed a large amount of information. The domestic nuclear power plant construction project has accumulated data based on many years of experience in the system. It has the competitiveness to suggeest alternatives that meet the requirement of the client in the overseas nuclear power plant project. Earned value management, which integrates schedule and cost, is possible to risk management. It was developed the earned value management system considering the the actual data properties and types of the preceding nuclear power plant construction projects. It will be able to increase the nuclaer power plant export competieiveness. Therefore, it was palned to carry out future stuies so that it be able to complement the measure to integrate cost and schedule in consideration of actual data(quantity of activity, etc.).

The market size of plant projects in overseas is so large that domestic EPC project contractors are actively seeking the overseas projects and then trying to meet completion plans since successful fulfillment of these projects can provide great opportunities for them to expand into new foreign markets. International EPC projects involve all of the uncertainties common to domestic projects as well as uncertainties specific to foreign projects including marine transportation, customs, regulations, nationality, culture and so on. When overseas project gets off-schedule, the resulting uncertainty may trigger unexpected exceptions and then critical effects to the project performance. It usually require much more time and costs to encounter these exceptions in foreign sites compared to domestic project sites. Therefore, an exception handling approach is required to manage exceptions effectively for successful project progress in foreign project sites. In this research, we proposed a methodology for prediction and evaluation of exceptions caused by risks in international EPC projects based on sensitivity analysis and Bayesian Networks. First, we identified project schedule risks and related exceptions, which may meet during the fulfillment of foreign EPC projects that is performed in a sequence of engineering, procurement, preparatory manufacture, foreign shipping, construction, inspection and modification activities, and affect project performance, using literature review and expert interviews. The impact of exceptions to the schedule delay were also identified. Second, we proposed a methodology to predict the occurrence of exceptions caused by project risks and evaluate them. Using sensitivity analysis, we can identify activities that critically affect schedule delay and need to focus by priority. Then, we use Bayesian Networks to predict and evaluate exceptions. Third, we applied the proposed methodology to an international EPC project example to validate the proposed approach. Finally, we concluded the research with the further research topics. We expect that the proposed approach can be extended to apply in exception management in project management.

Before a contractor embarks on exporting its services, it needs to know if it is likely to succeed. This research developed two prediction models to help contractors in Singapore predict the number of projects (Y1) and the contract values (Y2) that they are likely to secure from overseas. Detailed characteristics of 60 contractors who export their services (exporters) were obtained from the database of registered contractors in Singapore. Multiple linear regression models were developed and tests showed that Y1 is a robust model. A contractor's chance of winning more overseas projects may be predicted by the number of projects it acted as a subcontractor; the variety of projects it undertakes; the total contract value in the domestic market; and the number of countries it exported its services to. It is recommended that contractors who are planning to export their services be flexible instead of adopt a focused policy of undertaking only one or two project types in a few selected countries.

Overseas construction projects tend to be more complex than domestic projects, being exposed to more external risks, such as politics, economy, society, and culture, as well as more internal risks from the project itself. It is crucial to have an early understanding of the project condition, in order to be well prepared in various phases of the project. This study compares a structural equation model and multiple regression analysis, in their capacity to predict cost performance of international construction projects. The structural equation model shows a more accurate prediction of cost performance than does regression analysis, due to its intrinsic capability of considering various cost factors in a systematic way.

As the complexity and uncertainty of international construction projects increase, the importance of risk management capabilities in the construction industry has become more pronounced. Accordingly, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) has become a widely adopted approach among organizations as a new way for more effective risk management. Despite its growing application, research related to ERM is still in its infancy, and most of the existing studies have been limited to financial industries. Therefore, this study aims to empirically examine the influence of ERM's core elements on project risk management (PRM) and project performance within construction firms. Our findings indicate that the key ERM components-organization, policy, and culture-significantly enhance PRM processes, underscoring their critical role and importance. Additionally, effective PRM positively affects project outcomes, highlighting its significance for construction companies engaged in international projects. While ERM does not directly impact project performance, it indirectly improves outcomes through enhanced PRM capabilities. It suggests that ERM will contribute to the firm's performance by improving the firm's PRM capability through policies and a risk-focused culture corresponding to the adopted ERM organization and system..

국내 사회간접자본(Social Overhead Capital; SOC)에 대한 예산축소 및 부동산 시장 안정화 정책 등으로 도시개발 경기가 침체되고 있어 국내 건설기업의 해외시장 진출에 대한 관심이 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 그러나 국내 건설기업은 해외 도시개발 시장에서 금융조달 및 해외 프로젝트 관리 능력이 우수한 해외 선진 기업들에 비해 열세를 보이고 있는 실정이다. 이에 국내 기업은 진출 국가의 환경과 수준에 맞는 도시개발 모델을 선정하고, 높은 해외 사업 리스크를 관리할 수 있는 진출 전략 수립이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 기존 연구와 문헌 분석, FGI를 통해 해외 도시개발 시장 진출 요인을 도출하고, 설문조사 및 IPA 분석을 통해 실시하였다. 이를 통해 일련의 국내 민간기업 해외 도시개발 시장 진출 전략을 도출하였다.

2011년과 2012년 국내건설기업의 해외건설시장 공종별 수주구조는 플랜트분야가 약 645억 달러(전체의 73%)로 타 건설분야에 비해 압도적이며 수주금액 또한 역대 최고액을 기록하였다. 이러한 플랜트 건설시장의 비중과 수주율은 당분간 지속될 전망이다. 하지만 국내 기업이 보유한 플랜트 건설기술은 상세설계와 건설시공 분야에서 비교적 높은 경쟁력을 보이나, 엔지니어링의 원천기술 및 기본설계 분야와 사업관리 분야는 기술 선진국의 60%~70% 내외이다. 국내 기업의 사업관리 경쟁력을 향상시키기 위해 플랜트 건설 공정관리 기술의 고도화와 프로젝트 수행과정에서 발생하는 리스크의 체계적인 평가 방안을 마련하는 것이 시급하다. 본 연구에서는 산업플랜트 건설프로젝트의 주요 공정 시퀀스 모델을 개발하여 프로젝트 초기에 공정계획 수립의 주요 항목설정과 공사의 흐름 및 공정 간의 연관관계 등을 명확하게 정립할 수 있도록 하였다. 특히 공종별 주요 액티비티 분석을 통해 주요 공정 시퀀스를 도출하였고, 퍼지이론을 활용하여 프로젝트 수행 단계별 위험도 평가 방안의 개발 및 중점 관리 공정 프로세스를 제시함으로써 산업플랜트 건설 프로젝트 공정개발과정과 주공정 수행과정의 리스크 분석에 용이성을 향상할 수 하도록 하였다.

For four decades now KEPCO has experienced an incredible growth rate of over 10% per year in each year. This growth led to the fast development of new facilities, especially in the transmission systems field, and we also managed to gain an enormous amount of experience and technology in the construction and design. With this experience and technology we curbed the electricity demand. Experts now predict that we will enter a new phase in which our growth rate will stagnate and eventually level off. This isn't what KEPCO or any company wants. We are looking for continued growth. In the last decade KEPCO began selling its technology in the generation sector of the electricity business to overseas markets. Sales in the generation sector have been a great success. This decade marks another milestone for KEPCO as overseas sales in the transmission sector began. Our first project, "Myanmar Power System Development Study" and its subsequent successful completion gave us the ammunition necessary to expand in this line of business. This success has also given birth to this paper. KEPCO is still the People's company, but with a new vision. It now hopes to not only sustain a high growth level but to also increase the growth of domestic companies by sharing with them a piece of the proverbial pie, as it ventures forth to be a Global player on the international stage.

본 연구는 성공적인 해외건설프로젝트 수행을 위한 리스크 관리 계획 절차를 구축하여 활용방안을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 접근방법은 해외건설산업의 현황을 살펴보고, 영국의 프로젝트관리 체계인PRINCE2의 리스크 관리 기법의 적용과 국내 해외 건설사들의 리스크 관리 수행사례를 분석하였다. 이를 토대로 리스크 관리를 위한 해외건설사의 조직 구성과 업무프로세스를 제안하고, 리스크 관리 계획. 절차를 개발하여, 해외건설 프로젝트에 적용하였다. 그 결과, 리스크 관리와 계약관리를 효과적으로 수행할 수 있게 되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 글로벌 건설기업으로 진화를 위한 해외건설사의 해외건설프로젝트 사업 능력 향상을 위해 유용하게 활용 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다
