미세 전해 가공에서 반경 방향 오버컷 예측을 위한 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of the Radial Overcut in Micro Electrochemical Machining)

  • The radial overcut in micro electrochemical machining was investigated. The prediction of overcut is important not only for the machining accuracy but also for the shape control of micro structures. In micro ECM, machining gap or overcut depends on electrolyte, pulse voltage, pulse duration and dissolution time etc. Understanding of electrochemical dissolution rate is necessary for the overcut prediction. In this paper, the radial overcut of micro electrochemical machining according to pulse duration and dissolution time was simulated using electrochemical principles and also experimentally estimated.

  • Recently, the Z-Map model has been used widely to represent the three dimensional geometric shape and to achieve the cross-section and point evaluation of the shape. In this paper, the CNC cutting planning and simulation modules for product with three dimensional geometric shape are realized based on the Z-Map model. The realized system has the various capabilities related to the automatic generation of tool path for the rough and finish cutting processes, the automatic elimination of overcut, the automatic generation of CNC program for a machining center and the cutting simulation. Especially, the overcut-free tool path is obtained by using the CL Z-Map models which are composed of the offset surfaces of the geometric shape of product.

지상LiDAR를 이용한 터널의 Reverse Engineering (Tunnel Reverse Engineering Using Terrestrial LiDAR)

  • 지상LiDAR는 토탈스테이션에 비해 신속한 측량이 가능하기 때문에 터널의 내공단면 측량을 적기에 수행하고 중심선 오차와 여 미굴량 발생을 최소화할 수 있는 강점을 가지고 있어 지상LiDAR를 이용한 터널의 내공단면 측량 및 계측이 점점 증대되고 있으며 보다 효율적이고 정확한 지상LiDAR 활용을 위한 연구도 활발하게 진행 중이다. 현재 일반적으로 터널의 여 미굴량을 계산할 때 사용되는 양단면 평균법의 경우 기존 측량 방식인 토탈스테이션 및 사진측량 등과의 비교는 많이 이루어졌으나 터널 전체의 3차원 위치정보를 얻을 수 있는 지상LiDAR를 이용하여 터널의 내공단면을 측량 체적 및 여 미굴량을 구할 때 관측간격에 따른 기준이 없는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 시험터널에 대한 reverse engineering을 실시하여 터널 내공단면 측량 시 터널단면의 체적을 비교하여 가장 합리적인 간격을 결정하고 이 결과를 토대로 현재 설계 데이터가 존재하지 않는 시험터널에 대한 CAD도면을 제작하였다. 또한 지상LiDAR 기술의 정확도를 검증하기 위하여 토탈스테이션과의 비교를 통하여 타겟좌표 정확도, 입사각에 따른 정확도 분석을 실시하였다.

코너부의 펜슬가공시 볼엔드밀의 공구변형 특성 (Characteristics of Tool Deflection of Ball-end Mill Cutter in Pencil Cutting of the Corner)

  • Ball-end milling process is widely used in the die and mold manufacturing because of suitable one for the machining of free-form surface. During the process, the pencil cutting operation can be adopted before finish cut to eliminate overload in uncut area caused by large diameter of ball-end mill. The ball-end mill cutter for the pencil cutting is easily deflected by cutting force due to the long and thin shape, and the tool deflection in pencil cutting is one of the main reason of the machining errors in a free-form surface. The purpose of this study is to find the characteristics of deflected cutter trajectory by constructing measurement system with eddy-current sensor. It was found that the severe reduction of corner radius produced the overcut during the plane cutting. Up cutting method induced the overcut both plane and slope cutting, but down cutting one induced the undercut. From the experiments, down cutting with upward cutting path can generate the small undercut surface.

  • In this paper, the CNC cutting planning module for product with three dimensional solid shape is realized to develop a smart CAD/CAM system which performs systematically from the shape design of procuct by the B-Rep solid modeler to the CNC cutting of product by a machining center. The three dimensional solid shape of product can be easily designed and constructed by the Euler operators and Boolean operators of the solid modeler. And the various functions such as the automatic generation of tool path for the rough and finish cutting processes, the automatic elimination of overcut, the automatic generation of CNC code for the machining center and do on, are established. Especially, the overcut-free tool paths are obtained by splitting the CL solid which is composed of the offset surfaces of the solid shape of product.

  • Presented in this paper are a CAPP(Computer Automated Process Planning) scheme and a generating method of intelligent NC data for unmaned machining of mold die. Mold die surfaces usually have free-formed geometry of complex shapes. So it is easy to overcut the die surface and to overload the cutting tools. It takes tens of hours to prepare process plans and to generate NC data for each processes. Therefore a classification of unit machining operation(UMO) for mold die manufacture, a backward recursive capp algorithm and a generating method of intelligent NC data are presented in this paper in order to provide a unmaned machining architecture of mold die.

  • This paper presents development of a pratical tool deflection compensation system in order to reduce the machining error by the tool deflection in the end-milling process. The system is a tool adapter which includes 2-axis force sensor for detecting tool deflection and 2-axis tool tilting device for adjusting tool position through computer interface in on-line process. In experiments, it is revealed that the force sensor applying parallel plate principle and strain gauge is proper to obtain dynamic process signal, and the tilting device using stepping motor and cam drive mechanism is suitable to have necessary action. By the system and control algorithm, it is possible to get precise machining surface profile without excessive machining error and overcut generated due to increased cutting force in more productive machining condition.

  • A 5-axis NC milling technology is presented on ruled surface. Problems in 5-axis NC machining are such as tool interference,tool collision and change of tool attitude,etc. The change of tool attitude causes rotation of cutter and variation of feedrate to overcut part surface. This poor control of tool attitude is the primary problem in multi-axis NC milling. This paper observes ruled surface for control of tool attitude. Ruled surface is composed of directrix and ruling, line of constant magnitude. Directrix corresponds to points on part surface and Ruling cutting tool. Trajectory of tool movement corresponds to ruled surface.

  • Free-form surfaces arise in shipbuilding, automotive and aerospace industries. Specially compound free-form surfaces so do. Machining complicated products consist of compound surface, it is very important to avold and remove tool interferences. By the way, in compound surfaces the tool interference can occur not only in the tool path direction but also in the other direction. A new tool interference detection and correction using tool interference conditions is suggested to identify and correct the tool interference in compound surfaces.
