A review of the 2nd generation of intact stability by the International Maritime Organization is performed. The main issues with the new stability criteria are reviewed. In particular, the physical background and related mathematical formulations of the pure loss of stability and parametric roll are summarized. Based on a literature review, benchmark calculation results for 17 different types of ships are discussed, and the final results are in excellent agreement with our physical expectations. Some relatively serious design problems are found in the application of the new stability criteria to sample ships built in Korea, and possible technical solutions are proposed, which have to be improved in the coming years.
In this paper, we propose a new stereoscopic video conversion methodology that converts two-dimensional (2-D) MPEG-4 video to stereoscopic video. In MPEG-4, each Image is composed of background object and primary object. In the first step of the conversion methodology, the camera motion type is determined for stereo Image generation. In the second step, the object-based stereo image generation is carried out. The background object makes use of a current image and a delayed image for its stereo image generation. On the other hand, the primary object uses a current image and its horizontally-shifted version to avoid the possible vertical parallax that could happen. Furthermore, URFA(Uncovered Region Filling Algorithm) is applied in the uncovered region which might be created after the stereo image generation of a primary object. In our experiment, show MPEG-4 test video and its stereoscopic video based upon out proposed methodology and analyze Its results.
This paper proposes a new test pattern generation methodology for combinational logic circuits using neural networks based on a modular structure. The CUT (Circuit Under Test) is described in our gate level hardware description language. By conferring neural database, the CUT is compiled to an ATPG (Automatic Test Pattern Generation) neural network. Each logic gate in CUT is represented as a discrete Hopfield network. Such a neual network is called a gate module in this paper. All the gate modules for a CUT form an ATPG neural network by connecting each module through message passing paths by which the states of modules are transferred to their adjacent modules. A fault is injected by setting the activation values of some neurons at given values and by invalidating connections between some gate modules. A test pattern for an injected fault is obtained when all gate modules in the ATPG neural network are stabilized through evolution and mutual interactions. The proposed methodology is efficient for test generation, known to be NP-complete, through its massive paralelism. Some results on combinational logic circuits confirm the feasibility of the proposed methodology.
Electronic brainstorming (EBS) to improve the process and outcomes of group decision making is an artifact of Information Systems legacy. Despite three decades of research with EBS in an effort to become a key resource of organizational performance, its performance when compared to that of nominal is inconclusive because of the recent debate over its usefulness in terms of productivity. Subsequent researchers have directed our attention to the re-examination of cognitive stimulation, which is considered the major benefit in computer-based idea generation, to explain the performance singularity in computer-based groups. While both cognitive and motivational factors that moderate and mediate the group-interaction process remain unexplored, individual differences that are tightly linked to creative behavior have been largely ignored to account for the discrepancy in performance. Since simulations have been widely used in situations where an outcome does not meet the assumptions, the notion of a group simulator and detailed simulation mechanisms are introduced to examine the potential effects of individual differences on the performance of computer-based idea generation groups. In addition, two prior studies that empirically explored cognitive mechanisms with the group simulator are showcased along with six propositions to initiate future research.
Baicalin is a flavonoid purified from the medicinal plant Scutellaria baicalensis. It has been reported that baicalin exhibits antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. The present study was undertaken to determine the underlying cellular mechanisms of baicalin action in preosteoclasts. The effects of this flavonoid on preosteoclasts were determined by measuring osteoclast generation and osteoclast activity in macrophage-colony stimulating factor (M-CSF)-dependent bone marrow cells (MDBMCs) and in co-cultures of MDBMCs and osteoblasts. Osteoclast generation was assayed by measuring the number of tartrateresistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) (+) multinucleated cells after culture. Osteoclast activity was assayed by measuring the area of the resorption pit after culture. We found that osteoclast generation was induced by M-CSF and receptor activator of NF-kB ligand (RANKL), and by the 1.25-dihydroxycholecalciferol in our cultures. Baicalin decreased both osteoclast generation and activity in MDBM cultures and co-cultures indicating that it may inhibit bone resorption.
In this paper, we have developed a technology-service relationship model which describes the diffusion process of a group of services and relevant technologies, and have applied the developed model to the prediction of the number of subscribers to the next generation mobile service. The technology-service relationship model developed in this paper incorporates the developing process of relevant technologies, a supply-side factor, into the diffusion process of specific services, while many diffusion models and multi-generation diffusion models in previous researches are mainly reflect the demand-side factors. So, the proposed model could effectively applied to the telecommunication services where the developing of the relevant technologies are very essential to the service Penetration. In our application, the Proposed model provides a competitive substitution between the next generation mobile service and the traditional mobile service.

This study uses the concept of dominant design to identify the determinants for the emergence of a next-generation dominant electronic display. It employs multiple research methods with the participation of display experts, which combine case studies, an unstructured interview, and the Delphi method. The results show that based on technological innovation and market dominance, a next-generation dominant display is more likely to emerge as a result of technological competition between liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The findings emphasize that the importance of rapid technological innovation, including component and process innovations, and a competitive edge in manufacturing costs are important. The study sheds light on our understanding of dominance in an industry and market, and also provides strategic guidance for practitioners to establish a competitive strategy.
Solar photovoltaic power generation system is judging that by the most suitable new refreshing energy in real condition of our country forward continuously interest for solar photovoltaic power generation system and diffusion me enlarged. Output decline problem is item to consider necessarily and should be verified in continuous interest for solar photovoltaic power generation system are diffusion. Present plan that minimize output decline calculating module liver optimum interval that consider recitation of a poem to reduce output decline by module liver shade by incidence angle consideration and this that occupy most parts among factor because do output of solar photovoltaic power generation system well.
In this paper, we describe a generation mechanism of semantic-based queries for high accuracy information retrieval and question answering. It is difficult to offer the correct retrieval result because general information retrieval systems do not analyze the semantic of user's natural language question. We analyze user's question semantically and extract semantic features, and we .generate semantic-based queries using them. These queries are generated using the se-mantic-based question analysis grammar and the query generation rule. They are represented as semantic features and grammatical morphemes that consider semantic and syntactic structure of user's questions. We evaluated our mechanism using 100 questions whose answer type is a person in the TREC-9 corpus and Web. There was a 0.28 improvement in the precision at 10 documents when semantic-based queries were used for information retrieval.
