Objective : The purpose of this study is evaluated the effects of Oriental treatments to symptoms and quality of life in the patients with herniated cervical disc being suggested operation. Methods : 20 patients diagnosed with herniated cervical disc by MRI in hospital were treated by oriental medical treatments. Symptoms of the patients were assessed by analogue scale(VAS) and SF-36. Results : After 12 weeks treatments, the VAS of symptoms of herniated cervical disc and the score of SF-36 were significantly improved. Conclusions : It could be suggested that oriental medical treatments were effective for the patients with herniated cervical disc being suggested operation. Further study of the effect of oriental medical treatments on herniated cervical disc is needed.

Objectives : This study was performed to report the effect of oriental medical treatments in one patient with traumatic thigh subcutaneous hematoma by traffic accident. Methods : The patient was treated by acupuncture, herbal medicine, pharmacopuncture and cupping for 3 months. Results : After treatments, VAS(visual analog scale) score changed from 10 to 0. MR Imaging showed that the size of subcutaneous hematoma has decreased from $5{\times}11{\times}5.8cm$ to $2.4{\times}3.2{\times}2.6cm$. And the palpation results also showed that the size of subcutaneous hematoma has gotten smaller. Conclusions : Our study suggests that oriental medical treatments such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, pharmacopuncture and cupping may be effective in traumatic subcutaneous hematoma. More cases of controlled treatments are needed to define the effect of oriental medical treatments for traumatic subcutaneous hematoma.

Objectives : In this case report, we will present three patients diagnosed with acute stress disorder or post-traumatic stress disorder improved by application of oriental medical treatments. Methods : We treated three patients with acute stress disorder or post-traumatic stress disorder by oriental medical treatments. The effect of oriental medical treatments were evaluated by STAI and clinical symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, palpitation, startle response. Results : As a result of oriental treatments, clinical symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, palpitation, startle response were improved, and STAI scores also decreased. Conclusions : These results suggest that oriental treatments may have an effect on acute stress disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Methods : Eighteen patients diagnosed with herniated lumbar disc by MRI in hospital were treated by oriental medical treatments. Symptoms of the patients were assessed by visual analogue scale(VAS) and SF-36. Results : After the treatments, the VAS of symptoms of herniated lumbar disc and the score of role-physical scale in SF-36 were improved but the other scores of scales were not significantly different. Conclusions : It could be suggested that oriental medical treatments were effective for the patients with herniated lumbar disc being suggested operation. Further study of the effect of oriental medical treatments on herniated lumbar disc is needed.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to analyze the oriental medical treatments of burning mouth syndrome, understand the tendency of treatment, and apply it to clinical settings. Methods : We collected case reports, retrospective cohort studies and RCT studies related to oriental medical treatments of burning mouth syndrome using domestic and Chinese databases(CNKI, KISS, RISS, OASIS, KCI). Search terms include 'Burning Mouth Syndrome', 'BMS', 'Burning Tongue', '灼口综合征', and 'oriental medicine', 'oriental medical treatment', 'Korean medicine' and '中医'. A search was conducted by appropriately combining keywords. Results : A total of 27 papers were included in the analysis. Among them, 9 are case studies, 1 is a retrospective cohort study, 1 is a before and after study and 16 are RCT studies. Treatments for burning mouth syndrome included herbal medicine, acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, acupoint injection, auricular acupuncture treatment, external use herbal medicine and gargling. In all studies, symptoms of burning mouth syndrome were alleviated after oriental medical treatments. In 14 RCT studies comparing western medical treatments, the results of the treatment group that included oriental medical treatments were found to be more significant, except for one. Conclusions : As a result of the study, oriental medical treatments are effective in treating burning mouth syndrome. In the future, we hope that clinical research related to oriental medical treatments of burning mouth syndrome will be actively conducted so that evidence-based treatment can be implemented.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of oriental medical treatments on the patients with delirium. Methods : Four patients diagnosed with delirium by DSM-$IV^{TM}$ was treated Onbaek-won(Wenbai-yuan), Jugeo-hwan(Zhouju-wan) and herb medicine. The severity of delirium was assessed by using MMSE-K. And then, we investigated and analyzed the clinical symptoms of the patients. Results : After oriental medical treatments, the symptoms of delirium were disappeared and MMSE-K score was improved. Conclusions : It could be suggested that oriental medical treatments were effective on delirium. Further study of the effect of oriental medical treatments on delirium is needed in the near future.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of oriental treatments to postpartum depression. Methods: We treated 41 years old woman and 38 years old woman who had the postpartum depression. In the beginning of treatment, they had anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue. They were treated by oriental treatments such as herb medicine, acupuncture, moxa therapy. And then We compared postpartum depression before treatment with one after treatment by Edinburgh postnatal depression scale(EPDS). Results: After the oriental treatments, the clinical symptoms were improved and EPDS was reduced (one reduces from 18 to 10, the other reduces from 17 to 8). Conclusion: Oriental treatments are effective on postpartum depression. After this, further approach and study on postpartum depression might be needed.

Objectives : The present study examines the domestic trend of Chuna treatments on lumbar spinal disorder in Korea. Methods : We investigated the studies on Chuna treatments for lumbar spinal disorder via searching 10 Korean web databases. As a result, 63 research papers were found to be analyzed according to their published year, the titles of journals, the types of study, the techniques of Chuna, the instruments for assessment, the Chuna technique and the number of the treatment trials by the cases of lumbar spinal disorder and ethical approvals. Results : The number of the research papers published tends to increase every year. The studies on Chuna treatments were mainly published in The Journal of Korea CHUNA Manual Medicine for Spine & Nerves. The most frequently adopted technique of Chuna in the examined studies was Cox flexion & distraction technique. Visual analogue scale(VAS), oswestry disability questionnaire(ODI) were used as primary means of assessments. The ethical problems of the examined studies needed to be improved. Conclusion : Reviewing the domestic trend of studies on Chuna treatments for lumbar spinal disorder and examining the strong and weak points of those treatments are essential for the future studies. It is anticipated that this review benefits the future in-depth study on the treatments for Chuna in Korean medicine.

External treatments have various curative effects. So it had been used to cure various patients. Especially, Zhao-Xue-Min(趙學敏) had thought that there are useful treatments of wander doctors. So, the "Chuan-Ya(串雅)" had been written by Zhao-Xue-min in 1759. The book had included treatments of wander doctors. it had included various external treatments. Therefore we would like to bring out it's external treatments in the part of ophthalmic, otolaryngologic and surgical diseases. We have researched external treatments of "Chuan-Ya", and then we have arrived at following conclusions. "Chuan-Ya" has 56 sentences that have related to external treatments in the part of ophthalmic, otolaryngologic and surgical diseases. And then, the treatments were, for the most of the part, bathing therapy, application therapy.

And treatments of wander doctors had been disregarded by general doctors and the public. But Zhao-Xue-Min(趙學敏) had thought that there are useful treatments in it. So, the "Chuan-Ya(串雅)" had been written by Zhao-Xue-min in 1759. The book had included treatments of wander doctors. Especially, it had included various external treatments. Therefore we would like to bring out it's external treatments theory 2) Conclusions We have researched external treatments of "Chuan-Ya", and then we have arrived at following conclusions. "Chuan-Ya" has 48 sentences that have related to external treatments in internal medicine. And it had recorded fire conducting method(引火法) to explain process of external teratment principle.
