Almost all patients will develope ascending weakness and numbness of feet and leg, difficulty voiding, urinary retention, and loss of bowel control. We concluded this case to MAMOK( 마목) due to Qi ascent, Qi deficiency, Qi stoppage(상기, 기허, 기체). So we used herbal medication, acupuncture, and homeopuncture according to oriental medical theory. Since the publication of "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)", it has unceasingly changed and developed, that changes and developments ate the reflex of culture and civil progression, and they also are active acceptance of the time's demand. when we look back into the history of the Oriental medicine, angle of understanding disease can be classified into two concepts ; internal-external and Eumyang. Internal-external is whether we find the source of disease internal or external. Eumyang is deciding which is more important between yin-essence and yang-gi which are components of the essence-gi of body. This thesis view course of development of theory of the oriental medicine since publication of "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)" at certain point of internal-external and Eumyang and with those as background, will inquire into sameness and difference between the Korean medicine and the Chinese medicine, and provide an advanced course for the oriental medicine.

  • From the study on A Study on A Study on Formation of Oriental Medicine Theory based on Analogical Inference, the conclusion is as follows. Analogical inference belonging to informal logic has very important point that it makes new knowledges of unknown field from basis of common knowledge field. The form of Analogical Inference is "A: a-B: (b)", In "Naegyeong(內經)", models of analogy are classified into two types. One is that of analogical inference making new knowledges in company with effects of Heung-gi(興起), Another is to unite common knowledges, While the example of analogy between military science and medicine belongs to type of the former, example of bureaucracy and medicine belongs to type of the latter, that based on rearrangement of common knowledge. Two type have similar system of national government or military management in basis. In such process of analogical inference, we expect that new knowledges of Oriental Medicine would be accumulated in the future, in the same way of the past.

  • This article looks into Lee-Gyujun(李圭晙)'s life course, Confucian thoughts, and philosophical ideas on the Medicine of Boosting Yang(陽), by thoroughly translating and analyzing selectively the second half of Lee-Gyujun(李圭晙)'s "Seokgoksango(石谷散稿)". Translating his works is said to be necessary to fully understand the significance of the boosting-yang theory[扶陽論] in the historical landscape of Korean medicine, not to mention comprehension of the medical contents itself. Through this translation and analysis, first, it is found that Lee-Gyujun(李圭晙) had visited Seo-Changyu(徐贊奎) for over 10 years and had great influence on qi(氣) monism. Second, within the Gihohakpa(畿湖學派), Lee-Gyujun was much closer to Horon(湖論) rather than Nanron(洛論). Third, during his days, he became well known across the peninsula through his medical fame. Last, he wrote down the unknown manufacturing technique of dried ginger[乾薑].

  • Sasang Constitution Medicine(SCM)'s researches have been developed in many ways, especially Herbal medicine prescriptions and diagnosis. But there are no acceptable acupuncture theory for the Sasang Constitution. So We have tried to find the way for identifying each Sasang Constitution's acupuncture point on more reasonable methods. We studied that SCM acupuncture based on collecting Books of "Shanghanlun(傷寒論)", or Six-meridian pattern identification's acupuncture prescription. Selected books are "The Acupuncture and Moxibustion(침구학)", "Zhonghua Zhenjiuxue(中華鍼灸學)", "Zhenjiuxinchuan(鍼灸心傳)", "Shanghanlun Zhenjiupeixuexuanzhu(傷寒論鍼灸配穴選注)". So-eumin uses Conception Vessel's acupuncture points most frequently. And So-yangin and Tae-eumin use Bladder meridian and Stomach meridian's acupuncture points most. Moxibustion is used many times for So-eumin, especially at three Yin-Symptoms(三陰病). Orders for using frequencies of three Sasang constitutions' acupuncture points are: So-eumin uses ST36 CV12 CV4 most, So-yangin uses PC6 ST36 LI4 most, Tae-eumin uses ST36 LU7 CV12 most. Acupuncture for Sasang constitutions has been developed for many ways, but there are no generally acceptable theory. So we need to hold a committee for SCM and acupuncture specialist to establish acceptable and reasonable SCM acupuncture theory.
