Purpose: This study was conducted to provide basic data for human resources management of hospital foodservice employees by determining their job characteristics, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment according to recent hospital environment changes. Methods: Our survey was administered to 248 hospital foodservice employees in Busan area from September 1 to September 25, 2014. A total of 158 questionnaires were used for final analysis. Results: The mean score of job characteristics showed significantly difference by work experience (p<0.001), annual salary (p<0.01), and cooking certification (p<0.05). Job satisfaction had significantly difference by the age (p<0.05), annual salary (p<0.001), and turnover intention (p<0.001). Organizational commitment showed significantly (p<0.001) difference by age, work experience, and annual salary. There was positive correlation (p<0.001) between organizational commitment and job characteristics, job satisfaction. Organizational commitment had significantly positive correlation with skill variety (p<0.001), feedback (p<0.01), and task significance (p<0.001) of job characteristics, with work (p<0.001), pay (p<0.001), and co-workers (p<0.001) of job satisfaction. Job characteristics (${\beta}=0.249$, p<0.001) and job satisfaction (${\beta}=0.380$, p<0.001) had positive influences on the organizational commitment(p<0.001). In sub factors of job satisfaction, work (${\beta}=0.291$, p<0.001) and pay (${\beta}=0.252$, p<0.01) had positive influences on organizational commitment. Conclusion: To develop the organizational commitment, hospital managers need to reinforce responsibility and fulfillment by job enrichment and to consider increasing salaries to get a higher satisfaction from foodservice employees.
This study aims to investigate the effects of job characteristics and work on both organizational commitment and job satisfaction of the school foodservice dietitian for the purpose of providing information for quality improvement in productivity of school foodservice. The subjects were 401 school foodservice dietitians in Taegu and the Kyungpook area. The survey questionnaires consisted of five parts including demographic characteristics, job characteristics(JCI), work values, organizational commitment(OCQ) and job satisfaction(JDI). More than half of the subjects(65.3%) were between the age of 26 to 30 years. Seventy-one percent of the participants had bachelor’s degrees and monthly wages of 83.2% ranged from 700,000 to 1,200,000 won. The education of thedietitians was found to have a significant relatinship with job satisfaction in all fields. Job characteristics such as feedback, job characcteristics such as job autonomy, feedback and friendship were positively correlated with job satisfaction. The group of dietitians with high work value scores for work as a central life interest had significantly high scores in organizational commitment(p<0.01) and overall job satisfaction(p<0.05). Job satisfaction such as work-itself, pay, supervision, promotion and co-workers were positively correlated with organizational commitment. According to the Lisrel program, organizational commitment was affected by educational level(-0.23). Job satisfaction was also affected by educational level(-0.18), autonomy(0.24), friendship(0.12), feedback(0.08), individualism(-0.07) and organizational commitment(0.44) directly. In conclusion, school foodservice dietitians may increase the level of their commitment to organization and job satisfaction by increasing autonomy, feedback adn friendship of job characteristics and work values.
Purpose - This study reveals antecedent factors to help develop expressway rest areas in which employees were exposed to inferior environments, using Hackman and Oldham's Job Characteristics Theory. Research design, data, and methodology - The survey was conducted on 148 expressway rest area employees in Gyeonggi-do. After excluding questionnaires with invalid responses, 141 questionnaires were analyzed. Results - The sub-factors of job characteristics had a positive influence on the organizational commitment of employees, and organizational commitment had a positive influence on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). Further, the results of mediation effects showed that organizational commitment and self-leadership were partially mediated. Finally, the results of the moderation effect of self-leadership showed that self-leadership was thought to be vital to let members endeavor to promote the competitiveness of expressway rest areas. Conclusions - The expressway rest area company needed to design jobs to let employees be self-motivated, productive, positive, responsible, and aspirational; job redesign, including job enrichment and job enlargement can be considerably helpful for affirmative influence.
This study was done to Identify the relationship between the organiaational characteristrics of hospital nursing and job satisfaction. The factors used for the organizational characteristics of hospital nursing were leadership of the head nurse, leadership of supervisor and others in higher authority positions with supervisors and organizational climate. The subjects consisted of 243 staff nurses from seven general hospitals in Seoul. The data was collected from August 1. to August 31. 1991. The tools used for measurement in this study were Park and Yoon's scale of the Perception of Organizational Characteristics and Stamp' Scale of the Job Satisfaction. The results are summarized as follows ; 1. There were significant differences between for the three nursing units organizational characteristic factors, leadership of supervisors, other higher authorities, interaction with supervisors and organizational climate and job satisfaction(p<0.05) 2. There was a correlation between organizational chatacteristics of hospital nursing and job satisfaction. (r=0.32-0.65) 3. The factor explaining the highest proportion of variance was interaction with supervisor. (39.8%) In conclusion, there was significant correlation between of the organizational characteristics hospital nursing and Job satisfaction. And there were significant differences in the organizational characteristics of hospital nursing and job satisfaction for different nursing units.
This study was aimed to be able to dedicate to the quality promotion of nursing of the nurses and the development of hospital organization by investigating interrelations between job satisfaction degree and organizational commitment of the clinical nurses. The objects of this study have been 507 nurses working in university hospital in Seoul and the materials have been collected through structured questionnaires for 14 days from Feb. 23. 1998 through March 8. The materials have been analyzed and computerized statistically with SPSS. General characteristics have been analyzed by practical number and percentage. and job satisfaction degree and organizational commitment have been analyzed by average evaluation marks and standard deviation and the relation between general characteristics and job satisfaction degree and the relation between general characteristics and organizational commitment have been analyzed by t-test or F-test(ANOVA) according to the characteristics of variable. Purpose - This study aimed to check the influence of job characteristics of members of small and medium businesses on authentic leadership awareness of superiors and organizational citizenship behavior, and if the MPS between awareness of authentic leadership and organizational citizenship behavior mediated. This study aimed to find the influence of job characteristics of SMEs members on leadership awareness and organizational citizenship behavior, and the role of motivating Potential Score. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - Total of 150 valid questionnaires were collected. Frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, simple & multiple regression analysis, and 3-step mediated regression analysis were conducted. Results - The sub-factors of job characteristics all had positive influence on authentic leadership except skill variety and positive awareness on authentic leadership enhances organizational citizenship behavior of members. Also, MPS partially mediates awareness of authentic leadership and organizational citizenship behavior. Conclusion - Providing skill variety such as expanding jobs to members of SMEs does not have influence of positive leadership awareness of leaders and partial mediation of MPS means that job characteristics along with positive leadership awareness on superiors enhance organizational citizenship behavior and contributes in developing the organization.
For the purpose of disclosing the relationship between job characteristics and satisfaction and organizational commitment for foodservice employees, questionnaire survey was carried out on 427 subjects of 14 general hospitals in Seoul, Korea. Questionnaire items consisted of general characteristics, organizational commitment, job satisfaction and characteristics. Data were analyzed by ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test and Pearson correlation using SPSS PC package. The results were as follows 1. Mean score of value commitment and commitment to stay were 3.57 and 3.67. 2. There were significant differences between value commitment and age, marital status department, period and management, and between commitment to stay and experience and management. 3. Mean score of job satisfaction was the highest in co-workers(3.37) and work itself (3.37) and followed by in supervision(3.25), wage(2.43) and promotion(2.01). There were significant differences between job satisfaction for work itself and age, educational status and job department and management, between job satisfaction for wage and position, department, period and management, between job satisfaction for supervision and age, educational status and department, between job satisfaction for promotion and age, marital status, position, period, and management, between job satisfaction for co-workers and sex and educational status. 4. Mean score of job characteristics was the highest in dealing with others(4.13) and followed by in feedback(3.51), autonomy(3.29), task identify(3.07), variety(2.71) and friendship(2.47). 5. Job satisfaction for work itself, supervision and co-workers were significantly increased with increasing value commitment. Job satisfaction for work itself, supervision were significantly increased with increasing commitment to stay. Job satisfaction for promotion had negative correlation with organizational commitment in all job position. 6. Value commitment had significantly positive correlations with variety, autonomy, identity, feedback and dealing with others, and significantly negative correlation with friendship. Commitment to stay had significantly positive correlations with dealing with others, and significantly negative correlations with friendship. In all job position organizational commitment had significantly negative correlations with friendship.
The purpose of the study was to investigate differences in job satisfaction, organizational commitment and intent to leave the job according to the characteristics of employees of korean fashion companies. For the study, the questionnaire was developed by the authors and distributed to 350 employees of Korean fashion companies. A total of 315 questionnaires was collected and used for the final analysis. Data were analyzed by frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, independent sample T-test, ANOVA and Tukey's test, using the SPSS 18.0 Package Program. First, men showed higher scores in job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and lower score in intent to leave their jobs than women. Second, those who were in their fifties or older had higher job satisfaction and organizational commitment and lower intent to leave their job than those who were in their twenties. Third, those who work in the sales department or merchandising department had higher job satisfaction and organizational commitment and lower intent to leave their job than designers. Fourth, managers and executives had higher job satisfaction and organizational commitment and lower intent to leave their job than lower position employees. Fifth, those with 15 years or longer job experience had higher job satisfaction and organizational commitment and lower intent to leave their job than those with less than three years. Finally, those who had a monthly income of three million won or more had higher job satisfaction and organizational commitment and lower intent to leave their job than those who had a monthly income of less than one million won.
본 논문은 정부출연연구소의 연구인력의 직무특성과 조직성과의 관계에서 조직공정성의 조절 효과에 대해 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 정부출연연구소 연구인력 459명의 설문자료를 바탕으로 회귀 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 직무특성의 하위 요인 중 다양성을 제외한 자율성, 중요성, 정체성, 피드백이 직무만족에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 직무특성 중 자율성, 정체성, 피드백은 조직몰입에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 직무특성과 조직성과의 관계에서 조직공정성의 조절효과를 검증한 결과, 직무특성 중 자율성과 다양성이 직무만족에 자율성, 중요성, 피드백은 조직몰입에 통계적으로 유의적인 조절효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was 1) to understand the job transfer in education & training(E&T) programs & organizational situational characteristics, and 2) to analyze the effects of the E&T programs & organizational situational characteristic groups on each of the levels of job transfer. There is intimate relationship between E&T programs characteristics & organizational situational characteristics and job transfer, so we can't think of them separately. With this point of view the most frequently discussed problem is how to apply the theory in actual job, but in reality it's true that the improvement of job transfer can't reach the expectations of the E&T programs. In literature view study, the concepts of job transfer in E&T, the general theory on E&T, and the actual condition and points at issue of the existing E&T practices in the medium and small-sized hospitals were defined. As the results from empirical analysis, we could find followings: First, in evaluation of the job transfer, demographic characteristics (seniority, occupational category, position) variables have a significant different. Second, in degree of the job transfer, E&T programs characteristics(contents of E&T, design of E&T, conditions of E&T, teaching ability of lecturer, methods of E&T) variables have a different influence upon each of the evaluation levels of E&T. Third, support of CEO variables have a different influence on the job transfer according to contents, design, conditions of the E&T programs. Fourth, support of co-works variables have a different influence on the job transfer according to design, conditions, method of the E&T programs. Fifty, support of organizational atmosphere variables have a different influence on the job transfer according to contents, design, conditions of the E&T programs.
