This study empirically analyzes the effects of non-technical innovation activities on employment growth. The study estimates the effects of organizational innovation and marketing innovation on employment growth using the data on manufacturing and service firms from the 2016 Korea Innovation Survey. The estimation results suggest that the detailed types of organizational innovation and marketing innovation have different effects on employment growth. In the case of organizational innovation, changes in business practices and changes in workplace organization do not have any significant impact on employment growth in both manufacturing and service firms. On the other hand, new external relationships have a positive employment effect in the manufacturing firms. Marketing innovations such as new methods in product placement and product promotion also have an effect of increasing employment in the manufacturing sector. However, the study finds that marketing innovation does not have any positive employment effect in the service firms.
Since the Korean retail industry was made accessible to the big conglomerates and foreign retail companies, local traditional markets have faced serious problems. To sustain the local traditional markets' survival, the Korean government established various remedial policies for addressing, and many scholars published articles to suggest how to find solutions to, the problem. Unfortunately, the results have not been satisfactory. The purpose of this study is to find another way to help the Korean traditional retail market, from the view point of the Green Growth Policy, an initiative designed to address environmentally balanced economic growth in Korea. In order to survive and to maintain sustainable growth, it is incumbent upon retailers in the traditional market to understand the concept of the Green Growth Policy. A survey was conducted as a means of testing the degree of awareness of the Green Growth Policy, as well as determining the relationship between the degree of awareness and the degree of organizational commitment by the retailers in the local traditional markets. Interestingly, we were able to detect some of the features (e.g., they were distinguished by the elderly and the young, as well as low level of education and high level of education) in the traditional market retailers' demographic characteristics. We utilized the analysis of variance (ANOVA) statistical method to simultaneously compare the differences in retailers' demographic characteristics; the results were as follows: Overall, the results showed that the awareness of the Green Growth Policy, the degree of trust in the government's policy, levels of self-efficacy, and levels of organizational commitment were higher with the older traditional market retailers than the younger traditional market retailers. Specifically, the degree of trust in government policies (F=9.964,p < .05), levels of self-efficacy (F=5.532,p < .05), and levels of organizational commitment (F=5.697,p < .05) were statistically significant. Moreover, in the portion of the study that addressed the difference between education levels, all the variables were averaged in the higher education category of the traditional market retailers. Specifically, awareness levels of the Green Growth Policy (F=8.564,p < .005) and levels of self-efficacy (F=6.754,p < .005) were statistically significant. These results revealed that the traditional market retailers' demographic characteristics should be considered important factors in order to realize their policy. The results of the study showed the following: 1) The degree of awareness of the government's Green Growth Policy was statistically significant as it related to traditional market retailers' organizational commitment. 2) The degree of trust of the government's policy was significantly moderated between the awareness of the government's Green Growth Policy and the traditional market retailers' organizational commitment. This result demonstrates that the traditional market retailers' awareness of the government's Green Growth Policy will show more organizational commitment with higher levels of trust of the government's policy. 3) It also revealed that traditional market retailers' self-efficacy was fully mediated between the awareness of the Green Growth Policy of the government and traditional market retailers' organizational commitment. The results suggest that the government should show an interest in showing traditional market retailers how to enhance their traditional markets. Implications and future research directions are also discussed.
Lots of studies have been conducted on work-life balance in various fields. In particular, while a plethora of studies on the work-life balance have focused mainly on organizational culture and work performance, research to investigate the impact of work-life balance on employees' organizational commitment is scarce. This study aims to empirically analyze how work-life balance of employees affects organizational commitment and mediation effects of job satisfaction on the relationships through a survey of 463 employees working in small and medium-sized enterprises, public institutions, and conglomerates in the COVID-19 era. Also, it examines the impact of a smart work environment as a new way of working during the COVID-19 pandemic on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The findings of the study are summarized as follows. First, work-life balance was shown to positively affect job satisfaction, and job satisfaction had a positive influence on emotional organizational commitment of employees. Second, job satisfaction was found to be completely mediated both in the relationship between work-life balance and organizational commitment and in the relationship between work-family balance and organizational commitment, and partially mediated in the relationship between work-growth balance and organizational commitment. Third, the smart work environment had a positive effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The results of the study show that work and family, work and leisure, and work and growth balance are significantly important factors to improve employees' work attitudes in the changing work environment as a result of COVID-19. The present results suggest that the introduction of work-life balance and the smart work environment is required to increase organizational productivity.
Although a wide range of theoretical researches have emphasized on the importance of knowledge management in cooperative R&D network, the empirical researches to synthetically examine the role of organizational learning and open innovation which influence on the performance of technological innovation are not enough to meet academic and practical demands. This study is to investigate the effect of open innovation and organizational learning in venture business on technological competitive advantage and establish the mediating role of organizational learning. For the purpose, the questionnaires, made based on the reviewing previous researches, were collected from 274 Korean venture businesses whose managerial focus is on developing technological innovation. As a result of analysis, the relational dimensions of open innovation - network, intensity and trust shared by a firm with external R&D partners - as well as the internal organizational learning system and competence have positive influence on building technological competitive advantage whose sub-variables are technological excellence, market growth potential and business feasibility. In addition, it is identified that organizational learning has the mediating and moderating effect in the relationship between open innovation and technological competitive advantage. These results imply that open innovation complements and expend the range of limited resources and the scope of innovation in technology-intensive small and medium-sized enterprises. Besides, organizational learning activity reinforces the use of knowledge and resources, obtained from external R&D partners. On the basis of these results, detailed issues and discussion were made in the conclusion.

The development of industry since the Industrial Revolution has caused environmental destruction and is threatening to destroy the order of the Earth's ecosystem. Due to the severity of environmental problems, companies are facing a crisis where they may lose competitiveness if their management strategies do not prioritize environmental issues. This study studied the impact of a company's environmental orientation on employee satisfaction, organizational commitment, and loyalty. This study studied the impact of a company's environmental orientation on employee satisfaction, organizational commitment, and loyalty. As a result of the study, the internal and external environmental orientation of the company on satisfaction had a significant positive influence and were all adopted, while the internal and external environmental orientation on organizational commitment were all rejected as they had no significant impact. Satisfaction was found to have a significant positive (+) effect on organizational commitment and a significant positive (+) effect on loyalty, so both were adopted. Organizational commitment was adopted because it had a significant positive effect on loyalty, and internal and external environmental orientation had no significant effect on loyalty, so it was all rejected. A company's green environmental orientation plays an important role in a company's sustainable growth and can be formed based on the company's will. Therefore, this study shows that a company's environmental orientation improves the company's environmentally friendly image and provides positive value to organizational members, leading to improved corporate performance.
Purposes: This study was to analyze the effects of organizational culture attributes on organizational effectiveness in newly established general hospital. Method: For this purpose, this study sampled 981 hospital employees working for E hospital opened on Apr. 1, 2019 in Seoul. A total of 981 questionnaires were distributed to them, and 888 ones responded to the survey, which had been conducted from Oct. 17, through Oct. 25, 2019. 793 responses were used for the final analysis. The data collected were processed using the SPSS 19.0K for descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression analysis. Findings: First, The type of organizational culture perceived most by hospital employees was 'hierarchy-oriented' (3.53) followed by 'relation-oriented'(3.33), 'task-oriented'(3.23), 'innovation-oriented'(3.19) and job satisfaction scored 3.13, organizational commitment scored 3.28 on their order. Second, 'Relation-oriented', 'task-oriented' and 'innovation-oriented' was positively correlated with job satisfaction and organizational commitment. hierarchy-oriented' was negatively correlated with job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Third, Factors that significantly influencing on organizational effectiveness in a newly established general hospital were as follows. Factors influencing job satisfaction included 'innovation-oriented', 'relation-oriented' and factors influencing organizational commitment included 'relation-oriented', 'innovation-oriented' and age. Practical Implications: In order to increase the organizational effectiveness of the E-General Hospital, it is necessary to gradually move from a hierarchica l-oriented culture to an innovation-oriented and relationship-oriented culture. Since age also affects organizational commitment, it is necessary to promote stability and growth by promoting the mentor-menti system for new members with a low level of experience and experience.
Purpose: The balanced scorecard (BSC) has been adopted to evaluate factors affecting performances in organizational dealer marketing in Chinese cosmetics market. Four performance measures in BSC: learning & growth, internal business processes, customer performance, and financial performance are employed in our empirical study. Methods: We conducted surveys of dealers in a Chinese cosmetics company and used total 463 samples for analysis. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis were employed using AMOS 20.0. Results: This study found that internal business process had a positive relation with customer performance and learning and growth. Also, customer performance and learning & growth positively affected financial performances. Conclusion: This study has some academic and practical contributions in that the revised BSC model reflects the special aspects of Chinese cosmetics market and it can be used as a guide for companies in the Chinese cosmetics market to understand which factors are affecting performances.
This study purports to investigate the determinant of job satisfaction among workers working at Long-term care hospitals. The independent variables contain three groups of determinants: organizational characteristics variables(job autonomy, job variety, distributive justice, role conflict, supervisor support, job suitability, job significance, job security, organizational support, job growth, promotional opportunity), environmental variables(job opportunity), and psychological variables (met expectation, job efficacy, positive affectivity, and negative affectivity). The sample used in this study consisted of 250 workers from 4 Long-term care hospitals nationwide. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The results of the study are as follows: 1) the following variables, listed in order of size, have significant effects on job satisfaction: negative affectivity(-), job significance(+), job growth(+), age(+), positive affectivity(+), organizational support(+), job opportunity(-). 2) the variance of job satisfaction explained by the variables used in the study are 53.8%. When demographic variables added to Model I, job satisfaction explained by variables are 55.4%. 3) the results of this study indicate that three variables of negative affectivity, job significance, job growth are especially important for improving the level of job satisfaction among workers at Long-term care hospitals.
SCM is one of the important key issues in Internet-based business environment. This study intends to suggest a research model to measure the influence of environmental, organizational, information technology factors on organizational performance using the four perspectives of balanced scorecard (BSC). 9 independent variables and 4 dependent variables were adopted from existing literature review. 103 companies data were collected by survey. Four hypotheses in this study were generated to analyze the positive relationship of environmental, organizational, information systems on organizational performance with 4 perspectives of BSC. The results of hypothesis testing show as follows. First, organizational performance of learning and growth perspective has a positive influence of IS maturity, process innovation, top management support, use of SCM package, IS interoperability, and objectives sharing. Second organizational performance of infernal process perspective has a positive influence of process innovation, IS interoperability, objectives sharing, top management support, use of SCM package, competitiveness, and IS maturity. Third, organizational performance of customer perspective has a positive influence of IS interoperability, objectives sharing, process innovation, IS maturity, competitiveness, and use of SCM package. Finally, organizational performance of financial perspective has a positive influence of process in innovation, use of SCM package, IS maturity, objectives sharing, IS interoperability, and top management support. The contribution of this study is that it provides a conceptual framework and empirical evidences of the causal relationship between environmental, organizational, IS factor and organizational performance with 4 perspectives of BSC.
This research emphasized that the importance of ERG elements such as existence needs, relatedness needs, and growth needs. Moreover, it focused on verifying the effects of these three elements on organizational attachment through person job fit. In addition, the mediating role of person job fit was clearly identified as a key variable that can lead to organizational attachment. To verify this, an empirical analysis was conducted on workers engaged in state-owned company, service, manufacturing, and distribution industries in Korea. Through empirical analysis, it was found that all three elements of ERG improve person job fit. Furthermore, person job fit was found to increase the level of organizational attachment. Thus, it was found that person job fit played a partial mediating role in the relationship between the three elements of ERG and organizational attachment. This research also identified which element has the strongest influence on person job fit. Through these results, practical implications were presented and future research directions were discussed.
