Background: Effective policy implementation is essential for a healthy workplace. The Ryan-Kossek 2008 model for work-life policy adoption suggests that supervisors as gatekeepers between employer and employee need to know how to support and communicate benefit regulations. This article describes a workplace intervention on a national employee benefit, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and evaluates the effectiveness of the intervention on supervisor knowledge, awareness, and experience with FMLA. Methods: The intervention consisted of computer-based training (CBT) and a survey measuring awareness and experience with FMLA. The training was administered to 793 county government supervisors in the state of Oregon, USA. Results: More than 35% of supervisors reported no previous training on FMLA and the training pre-test revealed a lack of knowledge regarding benefit coverage and employer responsibilities. The CBT achieved: (1) a significant learning effect and large effect size of d = 2.0, (2) a positive reaction to the training and its design, and (3) evidence of increased knowledge and awareness regarding FMLA. Conclusion: CBT is an effective strategy to increase supervisors' knowledge and awareness to support policy implementation. The lack of supervisor training and knowledge of an important but complex employee benefit exposes a serious impediment to effective policy implementation and may lead to negative outcomes for the organization and the employee, supporting the Ryan-Kossek model. The results further demonstrate that long-time employees need supplementary training on complex workplace policies such as FMLA.
In this paper an attempt was made to establish a direction in systematizing the technical education with regard to the relation to environmental education. This study was made mainly through literature review concerning the relationship between technology and environment, and thus this study has a purpose of connecting the contents of technical education with environmental education. It will provide referential data for environmental education. The main text of this study dealt with which goal to establish in the technical education from the viewpoint of academical position considering the relationship between technical education and environmental education. Also, it dealt with the organization of contents of environmental education according to the 7th curriculum and, as a result, it reached the following conclusions: In the first place, technology and environmental education which have close relationship with each other should be considered in the developmental aspect. In the second place, technology, in any directions, affects natural environment. In the third place, environmental education should be done by the integrated approach and one of the alternatives can be through SET education including society and culture, environment, and technology all together. In the fouth place, the environmental education should be environmentally sound and developed sustainably so that the technology can be developed along with environment. One example can be found in the ecological architecture. In the fifth place, the environmental education which is a souce of technical education has its necessity in 8 aspects. In the sixth place, according to the 7th curriculum, the following can be the teaching contents which will connect technical education and environmental education: gardening, vegetable raising, planting and trimming, the future techniques, energy and transportation techniques, and so on. In the seventh place, the technical education can have seven goals concerning environment. In the eighth place, the environmental education in the technical education should be considered in the aspect of contents, of teaching and learning, of evaluation, and of the relations with subjects. In the ninth place, should be included as teaching materials of the units of technology textbooks where environment education will be dealt with.
The objective of this study were 1) to determine the stages of concern of HE teachers about the practical problem-based curriculum approach, as illustrated by the Ohio's Work and Family Life Curriculum (W&FLC); 2) to determine the relationships between home economics (HE) teacher's stages of concern about W&FLC and personal and professional characteristics of HE teachers; and 3) to determine aspects of interest about the practical problem-based curriculum approach, such as the Ohio W&FLC. Respondents in this study were 225 HE teachers. The data were collected during the in-service teacher training sessions after presentation about W&FLC. Concerns Based Adoption Model (CBAM) was modified to provide a conceptual framework for this study. Frequencies, SD, mean, mode, range were used to determine the stages of concern of HE teachers. To determine the relationships between stages of concerns and personal and professional characteristics of HE teachers, coefficient of Chi-Square contingency tables was used. Content analysis was used to determine aspects of interest about the practical problem-bsed curriculum approach, such as W&FLC. The median of the stages of HE teachers' concerns about W&FLC was Stage 1, Information Stage. About 60% of HE teachers were interested in learning more details about W&FLC. Chi-square revealed no statistically significant relationships between stages of concerns about W&FLC and characteristics of HE teachers. Content analysis was used to determine aspects of interest about W&FLC of HE teachers. Nine categories were found: content, teaching strategies, implementation of the curriculum, philosophical framework, how to adopt W&FLC, resource materials, students' outcomes, in-service teacher training, and HE teacher organization. The majority of HE teachers were interested in relationships with family and others, resource management, family relationships, personal development, communication skill, family life, creating a self-identity, life planning, roles of family members, homemaking management, child care, and parenting.

Currently South Korea is facing various provocations, including North Korea's nuclear weapons and missile s. For the protection of the life and property of its people, South Korea should regard North Korea as a main enemy and be fully prepared for the threats. The Korean War was a war between well-prepared North Korea and ill-prepa red South Korea. After Liberation, North Korean army incorporated the Chinese Communist army, placed battle equi pment with the support of the Soviet army, and finished corps-level training while South Korea at that time did not finish battalion-level training. In wartime and peacetime, an army should improve military security by concealing its own information and find its enemy's information. North Korea carefully prepared for the war, collecting information about the organization, deployment and operation of the South Korean army. South Korean army failed to cope with it and had hard times in its early battles. In this paper, I will emphasize the importance of military security, focusing on the Battle of Gaeseong, the early part of the Korean War.
This paper firstly aims to classifying the applicability of the Balanced Scorecard approach to Korean ocean-going shipping firms' management system. The applicability of this approach is from Korean shipping firms using Balanced Scorecard will create more effective and efficient organizational performance with reflecting non-financial indexes and making a balance among missions in organization. Secondly, the paper suggests positive information and theoretical evidences to improve Korean shipping firms' management system examines an availability of the Balanced Scorecard as one method of management tools. So these factors are analysed by structural equation model. This study provides CEO in Korean ocean-going shipping firm the guideline and availability of the Balanced Scorecard as to what kinds of factors should be considered and what is the most critical factor to adopt the BSC into their business.
The purpose of this study was to examine the experiences of teachers during the development and performance of a nutrition education program based on collaboration between the school organization and local community, as the experiences of teachers who participate in a nutrition education program might be one of major factors to determine the success or failure of their performance. It's basic goal is give some suggestions on school nutrition education and to explore how to assist teachers to ensure their successful performance of a nutrition education program. As a result of analyzing the collected data, the experiences that the teachers had in the program planning stage were subcategorized into two groups: 'finding hope amid complaints' and 'building a learning community'. The experiences that the teachers had in the acting stage were subcategorized ino two groups as well: 'regulating, equalizing and forming a new schema' and 'building stepping stones'. The experiences that they had in the evaluation stage were also subcategorized into two groups: 'finding it rewarding and thankful to teach' and 'new challenge'. The findings of the study are expected to provide essential information on how to assist teachers to offer effective and successful nutrition education.

The objectives of this study were (1) to determine the preferences for three home economics curriculum Models(Concept-based curriculum Model, Competency-based curriculum Model, and Practical Problem-based curriculum Model) of Korean home economics(HE) teachers and HE teacher educators, (2) to determine the difference between HE teachers and HE teacher educators according to purposes of HE, focus of learning, organization of HE subject matter, focus of HE curriculum, focus of HE content, HE knowledge, main questions addressed through HE curriculum, teaching strategies, students’progress, and systems of action, and (3) to determine the relationships between preferences for three curriculum Models and personal and professional characteristics of HE teachers. Respondents in this study were 225 HE teachers and 35 HE teacher educators. The survey method was used in this descriptive study. The survey method was used in this descriptive study. The overall curriculum Model preference of each teacher respondent was determined by counting number of times a given Model among 10 identified variables. The data were analyzed by using Chi-square to compare the differences between the two groups. To determine the relationships between preferences for three curriculum Models and personal and professional characteristics of HE teachers, coefficient of contingency tables was used. Both of HE teacher group(79.4%) and HE teacher educator group(67.6%) preferred the practical problem-based curriculum Model the most. There was a difference between the two groups on preferences for the curriculum Models related to systems of action. No significant difference emerged when Chi-square was applied to determine difference between the two groups on overall preferences for three HE curriculum Model. The chi square values between preferences for three curriculum Model and level of school, type of school were statistically significant. Each contingency coefficient for level of school(middle school and high school) and form of school(private and public school) was 27, which means there is a low association between the preferences and level of school and the preferences and form of school.
This study was executed to verify the effects of individual and environmental characteristics of secondary-school teachers on teacher efficacy and job satisfaction. To do so, a survey of teacher efficacy and job satisfaction was conducted to 696 man and woman teachers from 55 secondary schools in Gwangju and Jeonnam province, and then the results of the survey were analyzed. In this study, teacher efficacy was composed as four factors: sense of calling, teaching-learning, colleague relation and school organization. And job satisfaction was categorized as three factors: job relation, compensation system and working environment. The Multivariate analysis results showed a significant difference in teacher efficacy and job satisfaction according to teachers' individual characteristics and working environment. Conclusively, teacher efficacy and job satisfaction are complicated factors formed by teachers' individual and environmental characteristics. To improve secondary-school teachers' teacher efficacy and job satisfaction, it is necessary to develop training and education programs reflecting individual and environmental characteristics.
Toxoplasma gondii is an intracellular Apicomplexan parasite and a causative agent of toxoplasmosis in human. It causes encephalitis, uveitis, chorioretinitis, and congenital infection. T. gondii invades the host cell by forming a moving junction (MJ) complex. This complex formation is initiated by intermolecular interactions between the two secretory parasitic proteins-namely, apical membrane antigen 1 (AMA1) and rhoptry neck protein 2 (RON2) and is critically essential for the host invasion process. By this study, we propose two potential leads, NSC95522 and NSC179676 that can efficiently target the AMA1 hydrophobic cleft, which is a hotspot for targeting MJ complex formation. The proposed leads are the result of an exhaustive conformational search-based virtual screen with multilevel precision scoring of the docking affinities. These two compounds surpassed all the precision levels of docking and also the stringent post docking and cumulative molecular dynamics evaluations. Moreover, the backbone flexibility of hotspot residues in the hydrophobic cleft, which has been previously reported to be essential for accommodative binding of RON2 to AMA1, was also highly perturbed by these compounds. Furthermore, binding free energy calculations of these two compounds also revealed a significant affinity to AMA1. Machine learning approaches also predicted these two compounds to possess more relevant activities. Hence, these two leads, NSC95522 and NSC179676, may prove to be potential inhibitors targeting AMA1-RON2 complex formation towards combating toxoplasmosis.

With the recent World Health Organization (WHO) Declaration of Pandemic for Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19), COVID-19 is a global concern and many deaths continue. To overcome this, there is an increasing need for sharing information between countries and countermeasures related to COVID-19. However, due to linguistic boundaries, smooth exchange and sharing of information has not been achieved. In this paper, we propose a Neural Machine Translation (NMT) model specialized for the COVID-19 domain. Centering on English, a Transformer based bidirectional model was produced for French, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, and Chinese. Based on the BLEU score, the experimental results showed significant high performance in all language pairs compared to the commercialization system.
