음식물폐기물과 축산분뇨 혼합폐수의 이상혐기소화에 따른 소화액의 위생성 연구 (Two-Phase Anaerobic Digestion of Food and Livestock Wastewater and Hygienic Aspects of the Digested Water)

  • 음식물류폐수와 축산분뇨를 1:1로 혼합한 폐수를 대상으로 고온/중온의 이상혐기소화공정을 실시하였고 혼합폐수내 병원성미생물의 존재 및 소화과정중 미생물상의 변화를 살펴보았다. 혼합원액내 미생물은 대장균, 분변성 장내세균, 대장균군 등의 장내세균총을 비롯하여 식중독을 일으키는 포도상구균과 살모넬라, 이질의 원인균인 쉬겔라, 유가공제품내 대표적 병원성세균인 리스테리아 및 효모 등이 검출되었다. 혐기소화의 안정화시기는 반응후 21일이 지나서부터 시작하였으며, 이 시기를 전후하여 산 발효조와 메탄발효조에서 각각 80% 및 90% 내외의 가파른 감소율을 보이며 대부분의 미생물이 감소되었다. 안정화이후 유기물의 평균분해율은 메탄발효조에서 60% 내외를 기록하였다. 메탄 발효조를 거친 소화액내 미생물개체수는 반응종료 시점에서 대부분 불검출 되었으나, 리스테리아와 포도상구균의 경우, 비교적 완만한 감소세를 보이며 반응최종일까지 검출이 되고 있음을 확인하였다.

고부하 유기성 폐수처리를 위한 분리막 결합형 순산소 고효율 포기장치의 총괄 산소전달효율 평가 (Comparison of Overall Oxygen Transfer Coefficient in the Membrane Coupled High Performance Reactor for a High Organic Loading Wastewater Treatment)

  • This study was conducted to find the capability of comparison of overall oxygen transfer coefficient in the membrane coupled high performance reactor (MPHCR) in treating high organic loading wastewater. Effluent quality had been analyzed while the influent organic loading rate was changed from 2 to $7kg\;COD/m^3{\cdot}day$. The oxygen transfer coefficients had been investigated using two-phase nozzle for operating variables which were internal circulation flowrate (5~8 L/min), air flow rate (0.0125~0.2 L/min), liquid temperature ($10{\sim}20^{\circ}C$), and pure-oxygen flow rate (0.0125~0.2 L/min). The overall oxygen transfer coefficient was increased with flowrate of internal circulation and air and high temperature. Especially, internal circulation flow rate showed distinct effect on overall oxygen transfer coefficient due to an increase of gas holdup and air-liquid contract area by two-phase nozzle. In the high range of organic loading rate from 4 to $7kg\;COD/m^3{\cdot}day$, the removable efficiency of COD was 91%. Conventional activated sludge process usually treat organic loading from 0.32 to $0.64kg\;COD/m^3{\cdot}day$ however, the MPHCR can treat 10 to 20 times higher if it would be compared to the conventional activated sludge process. Foaming problem often happened and caused biomass wash out of the reactor, therefore, the foaming should be controlled for the enhanced operation.

아세트 알데히드 공장 폐수의 특성 및 화학적 처리 (Studies on the Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Characteristics from Acetaldehyde)

  • As a research for treatment of wastewater from acetaldehyde plant by biological method, we investigated general characteristics of the wastewater as well as the effect of coagulants. COD and BOD of the wastewater were 5260 ppm and 6452 ppm, respectively, and pH was 1.86. COD and BOD of the wastewater were 214, 000ppm and 15190ppm, respectively, and pH was 2.4. And the main organic componnt in wastewater were acetic acid were contained 6.76 % and 14.5 %, respectively. FeSO$_{4}$ as the coagulated was the most effective. The COD removal rate was reached to maximum state by supplementing 1200 ppm FeSO$_{4}$ and pH 9.5.

Stapylococcus auricularis에 의한 인 제거에서 총유기탄소의 영향 (Effect of the Total Organic Carbon(TOC) on phosphorus removal by Stapylococcus auricularis)

  • Stapylococcus auricularis was used for the simultaneous removal of phosphorus and Total Organic Carbon(TOC) in the wastewater from sewage and various industries. In this study, the characteristics of phosphorus removal was investigated with initial ratio of TOC phosphorus in the synthetic wastewater. When the synthetic wastewater containing 15mg/L of phosphorus was treated under anaerobic and conditions, phosphorus was removed completely within 6 hours of operation. And when the initial ratio of TOC to phosphorus was 30, as high as 10 times the removal rate of phosphorus by Acinetobacter calcoaceticus was achieved. These results implied that a long adaptation time, one of the chief problems in biological phosphorus removal process was overcome.

광합성세균 미생물막반응기에 의한 유기성폐수의 처리특성

  • An efficient packed-bed type biofilm reactor charged with immobilized phototrophs was developed to treat organic wastewater at an extremely high volumetric loading rate. The packed bed reactor (PBR) charged with porous ceramic beads was superior to a fluidized-bed reactor suspended with activated carbon powders in terms of many aspects such as BOD removal efficiency, operational stability, and overall economics. For wastewater with BOD concentration as high as 20, 000mg/l, the BOD removal efficiency was maintained above 90% when the hydraulic retention time (HRT) was longer than 1 day. The allowable volumetric BOD loading rate of this reactor (20gBOD/l day) is more than ten-folds higher than that of an ordinary activated sludge method. The behaviour of the reactor was represented well by a Monod type kinetic equation with a maximum specific BOD loading rate(P) of 22.2gBOD/l day and a half saturation constant(K$_{s}$) of 1, 750 mgBOD/l.

부착성 미생물을 이용한 질산화 및 탈질특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Characteristics of Nitrification and Denitrification using Attached Microorganism)

  • In this research, characteristics of nitrification and denitrification using the microorganism attached on sponge and plates were examined. The denitrification and nitrification performance were investigated under the anaerobic and aerobic condition for about 2 months. Because the basins of denitrification and nitrification were connected in series, wastewater was flowed from denitrification basin to nitrification one. The 90% of influent flowrate was returned from nitrification basin to denitrification one. Most of organic material was removed in nitrification basin, wherease the only exact amount of organics required in denitrification process was removed in denitrification one. This experiment resulted in that heterotrophic bacteria existing in aerobic basin governed the removal efficiency of organic compounds. In case the influent BOD concentration into nitrification basin was 80mg/l, it did not affect to accumulation of nitrifying bacteria, the balance of heterotrophic bacteria was proved to be an important factor in nitrification/denitrification method such as anaerobic and aerobic cycling type.

산화제를 이용한 니트로벤젠 함유 폐수 처리 (Treatment of nitrobenzene-cotaminated Wastewater using Oxidation Reaction)

  • This study explored for treatment processes by investigating the treatment efficiency and reaction mechanism through oxidation reaction using UV and $O_3$ as oxidant in compensate the wastewater containing nitrobenzene that is non biodegradable organic. Also by modeling these reactions, we try to step explanation of optimum reaction rate and reaction mechanism as the development of the computer program predictable the reaction rate by modeling the reaction. By using this model, after kinetic constant for each reaction from an experimental data is made an optimization and for hardly contribute to reaction rate in reaction kinetic equation is made an ignorance and suppose the simplified reaction mechanism, examined the propriety of computer simulation model and simplified reaction mechanism by comparing and inspecting the reaction kinetic constant and masstransfer coefficient. An investigation results for destructional treatment of nitrobenzene in the wastewater as non-biddegradable organic using UV, $O_3{\;}O_2{\;}H_2O_2-UV$ as oxidant.

암모니아성 질소함유 산업폐수처리를 위한 미생물의 분리 및 복합미생물제제의 개발 (Isolation of Microorganisms and Development of Microbial Augmentation for Treatment of Industrial Wastewater containing Ammonium Nitrogen)

  • 암모니아성 질소(NH4-N) 함유폐수의 효과적인 처리를 위하여 암모니아성 질소가 함유되어있는 식품폐수처리장의 폭기조 활성오니에 우점적으로 존재하는 미생물 중 TOC (total organic carbon) 제거율이 높은 AT2, AT9, AT12 균주와 암모니아성 질소 제거능이 우수한 FN47을 분리, 동정하였다. 이들 분리균주의 균체를 탈지강을 담체로하여 산업폐수처리용 미생물제제 FIW-1 을 제조하였다. 폭기조 분리균주들의 대상으로 폐수자체를 배양기질로 하여 배양학적 특성을 조사하였을 때 분리균주들의 기질친화성이 매우 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 분리균주 중 AT12 균주(Alcaligenes sp. AT12)가 가장 높은 기질친화성을 나타내었다. 식품폐수 중의 암모니아성 질소 제거효율은 분리균주 FN47 (Microbacterium sp. FN47)의 처리구에서 71%의 제거율을 나타내었다. 실험실규모의 반응조에서 식품폐수를 이용한 연속배양 실험에서 활성슬러지만을 첨가한 경우 63% TOC제거효율을 나타내었으며, 폐수처리용 미생물제제 FIW-1을 첨가 시에는 92%의 제거효율을 나타내었다. 또한 폐수처리용 미생물제제 FIW-1의 폐수처리장 현장실험에서는 미생물제제 FIW-1을 투입한 초기 3일간의 유출수COD (chemical oxygen demand) 값은 43% 내외의 처리율을 나타내었으나, 5일이 경과하였을 때 유출수의 COD값은 62%의 처리효율을 나타내었다.

정수처리공정에서 NOM 거동과 소독부산물 발생특성 (Characterization of NOM Behavior and DBPs Formation in Water Treatment Processes)

  • Disinfection by-products(DBPs) are formed through the reaction between chlorine and natural organic matter(NOM) in water treatment. For reducing the formation of chlorinated DBPs in the drinking water treatment, there is a need to evaluate the behavior of NOM fractions and the occurrence of DBPs for each fraction. Among the six fractions of NOM, the removal of HPOA and HPIN got accomplished through coagulation and sedimentation processes. Advanced water treatment processes were found to be most significant to remove the HPOA and HPON. It was found that HPOA made the most THMFP level than any other fractions and HPIA and HPOA formed higher HAAFP. The fraction of NOM with MW less than 1k Da was 32.5~54.3% in intake raw water. Mostly the organic matter with MW more than 1k Da was removed through coagulation and sedimentation in the drinking water treatment processes. In case of advanced water treatment processes, the organic matter with MW 1k~100k Da decreased by means of ozone oxidation for high molecular weight substances. As the result low molecular organic matter increased. In the BAC and GAC processes, the organic matter with MW less than 100k Da decreased.

XAD 수지분획에 의한 용존유기물질 특성 연구 (Study on the characterization of dissolved organic matters by XAD resin fractionation)

  • Changes in the characteristics of dissolved organic matter was studied at selected stations in the Nakdong river basin using physical and chemical methods. Characteristics of dissolved organic matters were analysed and assessed. Production of disinfection byproducts were also investigated. Distribution of the organic compounds according to the Molecular weight(MW) indicate that MWs higher than 100K were highest with cattle excrement wastewater and MW between 100-10K were highest with waters from forest streams. Low MW compounds (Jess than 1K) were highest with the effluents from environmental facilities. Results of resin fractionation study show that acidic hydrophobic substances(AHS) were dominant in many stations. The values were higher in the samples from mainstreams and sidestreams where the influence of organic matter is higher than the water from environmental facilities. Hydrophilic neutral substances(HoN) such as hydrocarbon, pesticides and detergents were higher in the wastewater treatment facilities. HoN values of water from the forest streams were 4.7% indicating there is no synthetic pollutant.
